The debates are going to be huge. It’s Romneys last chance, and they are going to ask him about it. How is he going to spin the mistake, and the lies he told immediately after, and not look like a douche bag? Gonna be tough. The buzz words in the embassy’s statement are, “hurt Muslim feelings”. White 50+ right wing American males, paid no attention to anything after that. Like 5th graders on the playground, the Romney campaign pounced. Not realizing how petty they would look. Add to it the fact that he stood by the mistake, and even lied to embellish it. He took a huge hit with independents. It’s no wonder that the GoP has taken the only tack available to them. To discredit the reporters. It’s actually amazing how fluid they are. Switching from talking point to talking point. Lose ground on one point? Start talking about something else. They get proven wrong? Change the subject again. It’s like watching Hannity. Sling enough random mud, something is going to stick. Even if it is a complete lie.

“Is there anyone who favors misguided individuals offending religious believers?”

I favor it, assuming the word “misguided” is rhetorical. There seems to be very little one can say about any religion that someone won’t take offense to. The problem, as I see it, is when hypocrisy arises and the offense one commits is one they would protest if done against them. Thus, Jones burning Korans when he would be livid if a Muslim burned a Bible is an act of spite not expression. But the answer to it should not be, CAN not be violence.

Stuff like this is going to start happening a lot more frequently now that we’re under 60 days. The polls will make them nervous relatively early, and they’ll create more and more problems for themselves with more purposeful distortion like this. They’ll fuck up big time if this behavior is starting this early.
