Fox Nation vs. Reality: A Birther’s ObamaCare Conspiracy Pushed By Fox News

In my book, Fox Nation vs. Reality, I document more than 50 examples of outright, provable lies that appeared on the Fox News community website. Obviously, no one expects an enterprise that cares so little about truth to demonstrate much integrity. However, it is still jarring when a major news organization mainlines reporting from disreputable outlets like WorldNetDaily.

WND is America’s Birther Headquarters. It’s founder and editor, Joseph Farah, has been the most aggressive skeptic of President Obama’s national origin. Farah financed a billboard advertising campaign with the message “Where’s the Birth Certificate?” And Farah’s publishing arm put out the widely ridiculed book with the same title by crackpot conspiracist Jerome Corsi.

Fox Nation

Sitting atop the Fox Nation website yesterday was a feature article by Aaron Klein, the author of the WND published book of bullcrap, Impeachable Offenses. Klein’s headline declared that “Media Matters Funded ObamaCare Deceit.” Clicking through to the WND source revealed a rehashed jumble of articles that Klein had written years ago. The centerpiece of his so-called reporting was his unsupported assertion that Media Matters had bankrolled an imagined campaign to deceive the public about ObamaCare. However, the only thing the article succeeded in revealing was the fact that a progressive think tank, the Herndon Alliance, was the beneficiary of support from a Media Matters affiliated entity, along with a couple of hundred other progressive groups. There was no evidence presented of any Media Matters role as the financier of anything having to do with ObamaCare. Neither was there any evidence of any intent to deceive. But there was an abundance of wild accusations and fear mongering about Saul Alinsky and George Soros, two of the right-wing, tin-foil hat brigade’s favorite bogeymen.

Apparently WND and Fox News found it shocking that like-minded progressive organizations would rely on one another to advance their common interests. Conservatives never do that. Unless you count the highly coordinated activities of the Koch brothers, Americans for Prosperity, FreedomWorks, Club for Growth, the Heritage Foundation, the Heartland Institute, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Mackinac Center, Tea Party Nation/Express/Patriots, the Franklin Center, the State Policy Network, the Family Research Council, the National Rifle Association, the Republican National Committee, [oh, I could go on] and of course Fox News.

There really is a “Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy,” and it is working feverishly to fabricate the existence of a vast left-wing conspiracy, while concealing its own nefarious activities. And Fox News, as a founding member of the VRWC, is doing its part to slander progressive groups by promoting the dishonest cretins and professional liars at WorldNetDaily who are obsessed with impeaching our gay, Kenyan, Muslim, socialist president.

  1. “Joseph Farah[] has been the most aggressive skeptic of President Obama’s national origin.”

Second most aggressive. You’re forgetting the two most inveterate debaters: Donald Dumbp (er, Trump) and his Hair.

    • Nah. Farah has published books, bought billboards, and employees nutjobs like Klein and Corsi. Trump, while equally stupid, just goes on Fox & Friends once a week. And the “investigative” team he supposedly sent to Hawaii must have fallen into a volcano.

      • Fallen into a volcano?! Great punch line to another great article, Mark. I should comment more often just to tell you how much I appreciate and enjoy your reporting on all things FOX.

          • Oops. I was just about to up thumb you until I remembered your place doesn’t have that option.

  2. So Mark, can you explain why Gov. Abercrombie said he couldn’t find the birth certificate more than a year after Fukino said she and Onaka found it in the vault? Can you explain why the term African was used as the race of BHO’s father, even though the 1960 Vital Statistics coding handbook (note the 61 manual was published after Obama’s birth) clearly demonstrates that Obama Sr. should have been classified as a negro? African is a geographic designation, not a race. What race are white people born in Africa?

Can you explain why the postal stamp on his (Obama’s) selective service registration card is missing two digits of the year stamp? Can you explain why the 8 is upside down? Did you know those stamps come in one solid 4 digit year block? One part can’t fall out. I have more, but why don’t you start with this.

Also, there are many types of Birthers. Some, like me, believe there are enough anomalies in the records he’s posted that they should be checked against the original. I don’t know or care where he was born. Others believe he is not qualified under the “natural born citizen” clause in the constitution but agree that he was born in Hawaii. Yet others believe he was born in Kenya.

When you can answer these questions, then you can make fun of birthers. Until then, you’re just another Kool-Aid drinking liberal. Why do I just know you believe in anthropogenic global warming too?

Finally, once you’ve answered all of the questions above, please answer just one more. Why are democrats so dumb?

Prediction: Liberal Mark puts up a post calling me a racist and doesn’t address let alone refute one single fact.

    • Wow, your prediction is right on, you racist. How did you know?

      • Because the new definition of a racist is anyone winning an argument with a liberal. It’s a reflex with your type. You simply don’t have anything else to come back with. You also don’t know much about African-American history or you’d lower your head in shame each time you pass a black person on the street. Democrats fought against ending slavery, didn’t join Republicans in the fight for equal rights until LBJ came a long and he was just looking for votes. Even now democrats are content to keep blacks enslaved financially on Uncle Sam’s Plantation so they (blacks) will trade their votes for a welfare check. If blacks ever figure it out, white liberals and race traitors like Jackson and Sharpton better watch out.

    • Can you explain how anything you’ve posted above shows in any way that Obama is well…a Kenyan Alien?

If not, go back to your fact findings and come back again when you have proof and not before.

Otherwise I can state to you that the fact that the video which sparked off outrage in Muslims across the world was part of a plot by the right wing to discredit Obama since the subtitles to that video (which was imperative to understanding what the video actually meant) only appeared scant months before the 2010 elections.

      • Why does he have to be from Kenya? The point Einstein is that there are documented anomalies in the pdf file purported to be his LFBC and in his selective service registration file. The latter having nothing to do with where he was born, but everything to do with whether or not he was eligible to run for office. I can tell you’re not up to speed on this subject, so I suggest you at least click on the link to the selective service registration info There are pictures and everything Delu.

As for the video, I guess we’ll toss that in the same trashcan where the Hillary Clinton “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” theory and the 9-11 Truther nonsense was thrown.

        • I think for anyone to view you as a credible source of info, about anything, you should probably remove any references to James O’Keefe, Herman Cain and Michelle Bachman, to name a few, from your web site.

And BTW, rule number one: In order to prevent anyone from thinking of you as a racist, don’t say racists things. All the other rules refer back to rule number one.

          • I’m not interested in a liberal’s opinion of Bachmann et al. anymore than you’d be interested in my opinion of Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

I haven’t said anything racist. But liberal democrat Dan Rather said that Obama couldn’t sell watermelons on the side of the road if the state troopers flagged down the traffic for him.

Joe Biden said that Barack Obama was America’s “first” clean, good-looking articulate black man, Liberal PBS referred to D.C. as chocolate town, Liberal Mike Wallace told a banker(with audio recorder running) that his loan contracts were difficult to understand if they were being read over the taco or the watermelon, and Barack Obama said his grandmother was a typical white woman. Then there was Sonia Sotomayor who said that she believed a Latino Female…Could make better decisions than a white male who hadn’t lived her life. I won’t even get into the religious bigotry demonstrated by the thugs who participated in the Occupy Wall Street movement. Finally there was LBJ who said he had supported civil rights and welfare reform to have those (then he used the N word) voting democrat for the next 200 years.

If you want to cleanup racism, start with your own party. As conservative African-American Kevin Jackson said during a national interview, unlike the democratic party, the Tea Party hasn’t hanged any black people.

            • You managed to get just about everything wrong in that rant. I don’t know if you are just ill-informed or if you are deliberately misrepresenting the truth.

But worst of all is your pitifully ignorant grasp of recent history and the overt racism of the Dixiecrats (Confederate holdouts) who all became Republicans after LBJ, along with northern Dems, pushed through civil rights legislation.

            • Oh for christs’ sake, you said you’re a birther.

Don’t you get it? Anything you say after that makes you no better than an Alex Jones wanna be and irrelevant. That’s not a liberal or conservative take on things. It’s being a realist. You lose all credibility with a position like that. Even if any of the things you ranted about had a shred of truth to them, no one of sound mind will believe any of it once you say “I’m a birther.”

        • OH MY GOD. I didn’t realize before that you’re a PDF-file birther variant. It’s all abou “the layers” isn’t it?!? I debunked this one MYSELF on my own blog. One thing birthers in this category cannot seem to comprehend is that the PDF file was never claimed to be an official document. It is a SCAN of an official document, which was actually handled by the press at the conference in which it was released. All of the artifacts on the scan were produced by the scanning software. I cannot BELIEVE anyone is still following this particular tangent.

          If you’re interested: http://greenleegazette.blogspot.com/2011/05/debunking-birthers-scanning-certificate.html

          • Despite false claims to the contrary, the white halos have yet to be explained. Recently discovered anomalies are also not explained by the 7655. There are also common sense questions like the ones above regarding Abercrombie not being able to find what Onaka and Fukino had supposedly found a year before. The 1960 vital statistics coding manual makes it very clear that Obama Sr.’s race should have been listed as negro. The 1961 book which a certain Obot site likes to reference was published after Obama Jr. was born.

    • All of that and more is debunked (and most of it for quite a long time) at http://www.obamaconspiracy.org/

Dr. Conspiracy has–as far as I know–debunked every bit of the tangled web of conspiracy theories about Obama’s citizenship.

But I’ll give you an easy one: Barack Obama Sr. wrote “African” on the form for his own race. He WAS from Kenya, and may have considered that his race. That’s not mysterious at all.

The most challenging part of all of the many versions of birtherism MUST be the birth announcements in two papers in 1961. The discovery of that fact (by an actual birther, if my memory serves) ought to have put a lid on all of this YEARS ago.

Oh, and yes, if you’re a birther, you are very likely a racist.

      • yes, but it was the job of the two clerks that checked each LFBC to catch errors like that. Perhaps you missed that the cold case posse produced a 1961 birth certificate where the father had self-identified himself as “colored” but the clerks changed it to “negro” after the fact. Two clerks checked every LFBC. Mistakes like that were not allowed to remain. I suppose I could have self-identified as a honky or whitey, but the clerks would have changed it to white or Caucasian.

      • Not at all. That only means that a birth was reported. I’ll give you a hint. In depth forensics indicate that neither the word Stanley or Obama were on the original birth certificate on the line where the mother was to sign her name.

Grandma Dunham reporting the birth as a home birth would have been all that was needed to trigger those two announcements. But to be clear, I am not among the birthers who believe that Obama was born outside the United States. I am among those that believe there are enough anomalies in the LFBC and particularly the selective service registration form that further investigation is warranted.

    • Hey Mark,
You should notify the C.I.A. and State Department about this as I am sure they do not know this. I am sure the Pentagon already knows. They cooperating fully with repeal of DADT.

  3. Dear Big Toe. As someone who produced and narrated all of the videos shown at both of Sheriff Arpaio’s press conferences on Obama’s document fraud, I can tell you that this matter is far from over. Much new evidence has come to light. Not to sound arrogant, but I already know what the Republican’s October surprise will be.

I also find it interesting that liberals avoid the selective service registration card issue. That fake postal stamp is tough to explain and the post office is bending over backwards not to give the ruling on it before Obama’s second term is up. If you have any answers, I’d love to hear them.

    • “Obama’s document fraud” What fraud? You have not presented a single piece of evidence that might show that Obama committed any fraud. That is pure 100% speculation on your part which clearly shows where you stand.
To answer your ‘questions’ “why Gov. Abercrombie said he couldn’t find the birth certificate more than a year after Fukino said she and Onaka found it in the vault?”
If this is even true (which is doubtful since you provide no proof for it), the answer could simply be: it got lost! Not good, but it happens. Would have been better for Obama if he did find it.
“why the term African was used as the race of BHO’s father”: If true, somebody made a mistake. It was not corrected later. Would have been better if it was, but it wasn’t. BFD! Doesn’t proof that the birth certificate was false and that Obama wasn’t born there. Get over it!
My question to you is: Will you also complain about Ted Cruz being born in Canada if he runs for President?

  4. Mark,

Would exactly did I get wrong? Are you saying those liberals didn’t make those racist remarks? Are you daring to suggest that OWS activists didn’t hold up anti-Semitic signs. Those quotes were pretty recent. Also, you’re the one who is ignorant of history. Check the vote on the legislation and then go back and read your pathetically inaccurate account. I chose Wiki as the sources as it is run by liberals for liberals. Hardly a Fox News blog.

    By party and region[edit]

Note: “Southern”, as used in this section, refers to members of Congress from the eleven states that made up the Confederate States of America in the American Civil War. “Northern” refers to members from the other 39 states, regardless of the geographic location of those states.

    The original House version:
    Southern Democrats: 7–87 (7–93%)
    Southern Republicans: 0–10 (0–100%)
    Northern Democrats: 145–9 (94–6%)
    Northern Republicans: 138–24 (85–15%)

    The Senate version:
Southern Democrats: 1–20 (5–95%) (only Ralph Yarborough of Texas voted in favor)
Southern Republicans: 0–1 (0–100%) (John Tower of Texas)
Northern Democrats: 45–1 (98–2%) (only Robert Byrd of West Virginia voted against)
    Northern Republicans: 27–5 (84–16%)

Not exactly the vote we saw on Obamacare eh Mark???????????????
Much more of North/South issue than a Dem/Repub issue wouldn’t you say?

    • Thanks for making my point. The southern GOP was already racist. The racist southern Dems joined them in opposing the bill. Then they switched to the GOP after the bill passed. The GOP welcomed them, and that’s where they are now – and still racist.

  5. The Birthers/ Teabaggers have no evidence that would stand up in a court of law in the United States. To all the Birthers in internet land, its upon you to prove to all of us (the majority) that what you are saying is true. Take it to court you bunch of cowards!

Let me be clear none of these Birther/ Teabaggers dullards have taken there “Birther Documents of facts, more like lies” and none have won a case in the “U.S. Courts”, maybe in their simple minds (if they have any) but not in our “U.S. Courts”, so unless Birthers/ Teabaggers, whatever you want to be called, win a court case, we will continue to see as dullards, liars or racist or maybe all three. Deal with the real truth baby!

To all the Teabaggers / Birthers/ Chicken Littles that keep saying that the sky is falling, and the Unites States will fail, never count against the United States of America, we are coming back and you and your losers are wrong!
