LOL: Geraldo Rivera of Fox News Floats Naming COVID-19 Vaccine for Trump

Making a play for the 2020 Fox News Flunky Hall of Shame, Geraldo Rivera appeared on Fox and Friends Friday morning to propose what amounts to a bribe in order to get Donald Trump to admit he’s a loser. In a segment wherein Geraldo essentially concedes that Trump lost the election to Joe Biden, he proposes a solution to Trump’s stubborn refusal to accept reality.

Donald Trump Virus

It’s clear to most Americans that Joe Biden is the President-elect of the United States and will take the oath of office on January 20, 2021. But Trump is still disputing that fact and engaging in a delusional campaign to overturn the election results. His campaign consists mainly of lies and conspiracy theories dreamed up by Trump and his pathetic legal team that has lost virtually every case it has brought to court. Not to worry though because, according to Rudy Giuliani, losing is part of his master plan.

Trump’s obsession with opposing a peaceful transition is blatantly anti-democratic and un-America. That’s a position that he’s actually proud of. But the necessity of removing him from office, and allowing the orderly transition to a Biden administration is something that Trump’s sociopathic narcissism prevents him from accepting. Consequently, veteran Fox News Trump-fluffer, Geraldo Rivera, came up with a plan to reward Trump for his childish obstinance:

“I think I had an idea. With the world so divided and everyone telling him he’s gotta give up, time to leave, and time to transition, and all the rest of it, why not name the vaccine for Trump? Make it like, ‘Have you gotten your Trump yet?’ It would be a nice gesture to him, and years from now it would become just a nice generic name. Have you gotten your Trump yet? I got my Trump, I’m fine.’

“I wish we could honor him in that way because he is definitely the prime architect of this Operation Warp Speed and, but for him, we’d still be waiting into the grim winter for these amazing, miraculous medical breakthroughs.”

HOLY CRAP! First of all, America does not negotiate with terrorists. Trump shouldn’t require this sort of infantile incentive to obey the law and two and half centuries of American tradition. He needs to step aside simply because he lost and has no other choice. His defiance is causing real harm by inciting outrage among his cult followers, some of whom are advocating civil war.

What’s more, Trump doesn’t deserve any reward for the development of a vaccine for a viral pandemic that he exacerbated due to his ignorance, incompetence, and deliberate malfeasance. If Trump is concerned about what he will be remembered for, he can rest on his responsibility for the deaths of more than 250,000 Americans, and more than a million sickened, many with disabilities that are permanent.

It’s ironic that Geraldo would propose this sort of solution to lure Trump out of the White House like diseased skunk that came in through a hole in the screen door. After all, Trump loves to plaster his name on things that he had nothing to do with.

However, naming a vaccine for Trump would only be appropriate if it recognized his role in killing so many of the people he was obligated but failed to protect. His name should be synonymous with the pain and grief he caused. So we could call it the Trump Virus Vaccine. Then people could ask “Did you get Trump?” And those who weren’t idiots could reply, “No. I got vaccinated.” Then all we would need is a vaccine to prevent infections for the disease that causes the mental dysfunction evident in people like Geraldo, his Fox News cohorts, and the lost souls who fall for Trump’s bullpucky.

Which is strange because it has never been cited for a single violation in 11 years and they didn’t even identify this alleged violation. They just bounced the account and its 7,000 followers. So if anyone wants to tweet articles from this website, please feel free to do so often and repeatedly. Thanks for your support.

  1. This is a fabulous idea ! Because in England and Australia, ‘trump’ is slang for FART!

  2. Dolly Parton donated $1 million to vaccine research. What did Trump do? He seems more like the disease than the cure. Maybe we could say, “did you get you’re dolly to beat the trump?”

  3. We should name the virus after him! Wear your mask, social distance to avoid being infected by the Trimp virus!

  4. I loathe even saying the same of the fake president. He can’t help it that he has age-dementia, but he sure can help it that he has not learned how to be a decent human being. The less his name appears in polite society, the better I like it.

    • Unfortunately NPDs can’t learn to behave in a way most of us call ‘decent’ or even ethically. They’re incapable of learning it. It’s as if there’s a brain connection that doesn’t exist or never actually grew. Apparently it’s caused by either epic over- praise for basic every day activities (how clever, you’ve done so well! You’re the smartest boy in the world!) or the other extreme – constantly belittled (You’re stupid. You never get anything right. You’re a failure! You’ll never be anything!) So they create realities in which they are the best, the smartest, the greatest, the most desirable etc. In Trump’s case, there’s been sycophants around him 24/7 for most of his life, ready to play along with the fantasy in order to enjoy the social prestige or the money, but the fantasy doesn’t hold up on the world stage. There’s far, far too many millions, including world leaders, who will NOT play along. NPDS have no concept of the truth, fair play or ethics and because in their mind they are THE best – it’s the only explanation that works for them when events don’t go their way. The other party MUST have cheated (anyone from a little boy beating him at marbles to a Presidential opponent being the obvious favourite of the people); it’s been ‘rigged’; there must have been bribery and corruption because for an NPD there IS literally no other explanation – the concept that someone else is the better man for the job just doesn’t exist in their reality. And they will obsess and dwell and talk and fume about it for literally years. I learnt a lot about NPD with a now ex-brother-in-law, who – 9 years after my sister walked out with only the kids and her handbag – still insists she is ‘useless and stupid’ with money (other way round – NPDs are notoriously rubbish with money); she ‘can’t manage’ without him (yes, she can and she does) and the only explanation for the children all having plenty to eat, being healthy and having good clothes/toys/treats must be that she’s working as a prostitute (she’s studying western herbiology and is a fabulous shopper with a limited budget.) He pays nothing – zero – maintenance and has actively stalked her, obsessively trying to ‘catch’ her with ‘clients’. And if you think you saw Trump in all that, you’re right. You did. NPD has only recently been identified as a problem, previously confused with paranoia or schizophrenia. There’s no cure; all that can be done is coach them to behave in a socially acceptable way, and that doesn’t work all the time as NPDs can’t see the point of social get-along behaviour because they don’t think they HAVE to – they’re the best and smartest, and it’s up to everyone to accommodate THEM and their whims. And the first problem is convincing them they have a problem in the first place! Current long-term prognosis is that it does devolve into senile dementia and very bloody rapidly, too. Thanks for bearing with me. 🙂

  5. Geraldo said it all in his first line: ” I THINK I had an idea.” Not sure but I THINK so. Well Geraldo, if this is what constitutes an idea in your tiny mind, you definitely need professional help.

  6. Where is a vaccine that is named after a person? We have MMR vaccine, HPV vaccine, etc. For all of them, the name of the vaccine is connected with the virus it is preventing. Every time I wonder if people on Faux News could get any more stupid, they proceed to dig.

    • Off the top of the ol’ head, Michelle, there’s the Salk Vaccine against polio, named after Jonas Salk, who formulated it. A scientist, not a stupid bloody politician. If anything gets named after Trump, it should be the virus.

      • Hi Jarvis. I see your point, and it appears that would be a colloquial term for the vaccine. I went looking for a source that lists vaccine names (i.e. the names they are marketed under, and are mentioned to patients), and found this list: https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/terms/usvaccines.html

Polio was such a terrible disease. My mother remembers seeing children at school who could not walk unaided – and those were the ones who had the least side effects from contracting polio. I thik we have all seen the photos of patients in the “iron lungs”.

Polio and COVID have are kind of similar as they both can produced severe effects on the respiratory system. I hope that the COVID vaccines are as safe and successful as the various polio vaccines.

If any medical researchers and associated staff are reading this: thank you for all the work you are doing. You are some of the unsung heroes of this global pandemic.

45 will probably go down in history as the first “strongman” president who had no form of military service. I do not think history will be kind to him, as it is clear he does not deserve that. Although he is a symptom of the problem, not the problem. The large minority of USA voters who back him are likely to back a similar “strongman” in the future. That is concerning.

  7. Michelle, you’re right: the folks who love Trump would gladly love another “leader” who allows them to wallow in their basest emotions & behaviour. Even more concerning is that the next one might be better equippped to wage war on American democracy, with more intelligence, subtlety & cunning. The fact that a buffoon like Trump was able to do so much damage so quickly is chilling enough; imagine if he’d been more Machiavellian , more like the Borgias than Al Capone. Keep an eagle eyeball on the roster of pretenders to Trump’s vacant throne in the GOP, because there are many there who are just as corrupt & morally bankrupt, but who may have learned from Trump’s mistakes.
