Fox News has spent the last twenty-five years pretending to be a “news” network, while posing as a pseudo-patriotic cheerleader for the ultra-rightist agenda it promotes. In reality they have been purveyors of totalitarian style propaganda, while fomenting hostility, division, and a seething antipathy toward the free press.

With the emergence of Donald Trump, Fox News added cult worship to their mission of malicious media. It was a natural evolution for a network whose programs were hosted by preachy politi-vangelists who delivered conservative sermons to their cable disciples.

Leading the parade of pastoral pundits is Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Sean Hannity. And on Wednesday night he revealed just how committed he is to America’s enemies. During a segment that discussed the upcoming summit between President Joe Biden and Russian’s Vladimir Putin, Hannity thought it would be a good idea to undermine the integrity of the United States and to give Putin a boost prior to the conference. So in his most demeaning and infantile manner, Hannity said…

“Mr. President, this might be something to bring up at your big June 16th summit when Vladimir schools you and sees what a cognitive mess you are. And maybe you get a chance to be extra – maybe you should just take the night off. Maybe not a good idea for you to go. Don’t forget, by the way, as we move forward with this, your warm milky and sippy cup.”

So on the eve of a historic summit with profound consequences for the United States, Hannity serves the interests of our Russian adversaries by belittling our President. He conveys to Putin the demonstrably false notion that Biden is cognitively deficient and emotionally handicapped. Hannity is, in effect, cheering on Putin to prevail in the talks that will cover such critical matters as nuclear proliferation, cyber-terrorism, human rights, and military conflicts in Ukraine, the Middle East, and Asia.

Now that Hannity has taken Russia’s side, it will be easier for Putin to evade the concerns that the U.S. hopes to address. This makes Biden’s job more difficult because he has to contend with opposition from both Putin and the treasonous Russophiles on Fox News. Hannity should consider adding a hammer and sickle to his show’s logo.

This isn’t the first time that Hannity has sought to portray Biden as mentally unfit. He recently posted this infantile insult on Twitter, which earned him an avalanche of well-deserved mockery:

Hannity has been trying for months, with no success whatsoever, to peddle his childish slander. But the American people, according to a Fox News poll, have already concluded that it’s Donald Trump who is too mentally unsound to serve. Meanwhile, Biden’s favorability continues to surge. Which leaves Hannity and Fox News to resort to pitifully transparent postings of deceptively edited videos.

Just like their Dear Leader Trump, Fox News has to rely on lying and cheating in order to claim any sort of “victory.” But when they actually start rooting for the enemy, and against the best interests of America, they can no longer pretend to be patriots. But then they gave up on that when they pledged their support for the insurrectionist brigades whose failed coup attempt on Trump’s behalf unmasked their traitorous intentions.
