Trump-Fluffing Fox News Host Doesn’t Get It: You Have to Hate Trump to Love America

There has been a barrage of bad news for Donald Trump lately. Last week the New York Attorney General, Letitia James, won a civil lawsuit against Trump that resulted in a $350 million judgment for his having falsified financial statements. That followed a civil judgment of $83 million against him for the defamation and rape of writer E. Jean Carroll. And a date has been set for next month for his trial on charges of paying hush money to adult film star, Stormy Daniels.

These cases do not even include the 91 felony counts for the criminal charges that are still pending. Trump’s legal problems continue to eat away at what remains of his cognitive functionality. And that mental breakdown is evident in the rancid rants at his cult rallies and on his increasingly incoherent comments on his failing social media scam, Truth Social.

But never fear. Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is hard at work covering up Trump’s emotional and intellectual defects. Whether it is his demands that he be allowed to commit any crime he wants without consequences, or his subservient encouragement to Vladimir Putin to attack America’s NATO allies. Fox News finds a way to sanitize his overtly traitorous tendencies. For example, on Monday morning Lisa Boothe, co-host of Fox’s Outnumbered, unleashed this sycophantic slop…

“These people clearly hate Trump more than they love America. And by the time they finally get him, if they ever do, what’s going to become of the country? Think of all the damage these threats to democracy people have done as they burn the country down to try to get him.

“No one trusts elections anymore after they upended the system during COVID, a virus almost as deadly as the flu. As they upended the process with mail-in balloting and trying to take Trump off the ballot. No one trusts the rule of law anymore. It doesn’t exist as they’ve used it weaponized against Donald Trump. The media debased itself lying about Donald Trump.”

Let’s just set aside the utterly insane dismissal of COVID as “a virus almost as deadly as the flu.” COVID has at least a 60% higher fatality rate than the flu. Moving on, someone needs to explain to Boothe that it’s possible – even necessary – to hate Trump in order to love America. And that’s true specifically because of the things that Boothe enumerates- albeit inadvertently – in her spiel. Such as…

  • The fact that it is Trump who is the “threat to democracy.”
  • That Trump literally tried to “burn the country down” via his incitement of an insurrection on January 6, 2021.
  • That Trump has fomented distrust of elections with his refusal to accept his loss to President Biden, and his relentless lies about election fraud that he has never been able to prove.
  • That Trump promoted gross disrespect for the rule of law by repeatedly breaking it and disparaging the American system of justice.
  • And it is Fox News that best represents “media [that] debased itself lying about Donald Trump.”

Any American patriot with open eyes can see that it is impossible to love America without hating Trump and his determination to destroy what America stands for. And that goes for Fox News too. This pathetic embrace of Trump’s venality is just more proof that Fox is a purposefully anti-American enterprise that only serves the interests our enemies.

LOCK HER UP: NY Attorney General Letitia James Took Off Her Shoes During Trump’s Fraud Hearing

This week there was a historic court judgment against a former president of the United States. Donald Trump was found to have committed massive fraud in an effort to enrich himself via favorable loan and insurance rates that he was not entitled to. The court imposed a $350 million penalty on Trump.

Needless to say, Trump and his legal team were not pleased with that ruling. As usual Trump delivered a stream of frenzied posts on his failing social media scam, Truth Social, that continued his relentless and childish insults aimed at the judge, the prosecutors, witnesses, and media.

However, in a bid to outdo Trump’s own berserk behavior, his lawyer, Alina Habba, rushed into the warm arms of Sean Hannity on Fox News to whine about what a terrible world they are forced to live in. A world where criminals are held accountable for their crimes, and where there are consequences for deliberate violations of the law.

What made Habba’s appearance on Hannity’s show even more amusing, is how she chose to defend Trump following the devastating judgment against him. Did she bring up any legal arguments that attest to his innocence? Did she cite any flaws in the court’s procedures? Did she offer any proof of bias? Nope. Here is what Habba felt was her most compelling rebuttal to the ruling…

“Ms. James had her shoes off in court. Let’s not forget that. I called it out in the closing arguments. But it’s true. She had a Starbucks coffee in her hand. She wasn’t doing work, and she wasn’t sitting at the counsel table. She was in the back with her shoes off and a coffee. And at the end of the day, we’re sitting there looking at this going ‘this is the state of our country.'”

That’s right! New York Attorney General Letitia James had the audacity to briefly remove her shoes while watching the proceedings. And to make matters worse, she was DCWB (Drinking Coffee While Barefoot). These will surely be among Habba’s main points in her motion to appeal. But she went on to say that…

“AGs are so comfortable in court that they know they don’t even have to do the job. They don’t have to do the work. They’re going to let their people do it, and they’re going to sit there and they’re going to win. That’s a problem. So we will go to the next level. We are going to people that aren’t running on a campaign, running to get Trump before they are event in office, and we will win.”

Apparently Habba thinks that Attorneys General take the lead in prosecutions conducted by their office. That is almost never true. They are managers, more often than litigators. So James was, in fact, doing her job. Not that Habba really cares about that.

As for James being “comfortable in court” with the prospect of winning, why wouldn’t she be? The mountain of evidence against Trump was as good a predictor of success as any prosecutor has ever had. Judge Engoron noted that “this defense is wholly undercut by the overwhelming evidence adduced at trial.”

So shoes or not, James was understandably comfortable. And Trump is just as understandably scared. This was a devastating civil judgment, but the criminal cases are still to come.

This election cycle has, unfortunately, seen the media embarrass themselves with ridiculous stories that compare a candidate that they say is old with memory problems, to his opponent who is also old and with 91 pending felony charges, an adjudication as a rapist, is guilty of financial fraud, and recently promised to illegally violate the NATO treaty and “encourage” Russian dictator Vladimir Putin to attack America’s European allies.

Last week the press covered the report released by special counsel Robert Hur on his probe of documents stored by President Biden. But what should have been a story about Biden being fully exonerated, was diverted into a smear campaign that made inappropriate and false assertions about Biden’s mental acuity.

Biden’s response to this unethical attack was multilayered. And consistent with his affable personality, humor was part of that response. For instance…

However, Fox News was apparently concerned about the strategies being employed by the Biden campaign. Host Harris Faulkner was generous enough to provide some free advice to help Biden deal with the furor over the Hur report’s unscrupulous insinuations. Never mind that most of that furor was fanned by Fox News itself. Faulkner began by asking…

“Who is doing this man’s strategy? President Biden joking about his age and memory. Insisting, in fact, he does remember things after that scathing DoJ report cast so much doubt. He didn’t get indicted because the question was, could a jury even go anywhere with him because he has no memory. Now he says he does have memory. Are they gonna indict him?

So Faulkner’s formula for disposing of this dilemma is to refrain from any and all humor. As if a scowling facade of seriousness would put the matter to rest. That sort of gloomy brooding and hostility might work for Trump on his cult disciples, but most everyone else finds it repulsive and repellant.

What’s more, Faulkner completely misstates the findings in Hur’s report. Hur did not decline to indict Biden because of an allegedly poor memory. It was because he didn’t have the evidence to indict, as he said in his report in several separate passages such as the following…

“[W]e cannot prove that Mr. Biden knew about or intended to keep the document after he was vice president, or we cannot prove the document contains national defense information, or both. These documents do not support criminal charges against Mr. Biden.”

Consequently, Faulkner’s snarky inquiry as to whether Biden would be indicted now that he has acknowledged that his memory is fine only confirms her own cognitive failings. He never claimed to have a memory problem to begin with. So his affirmation of his recall doesn’t change anything for Biden or the special counsel.

However, if you’re looking for a candidate with a faulty memory that would impact his fitness to serve, take a look at this one who couldn’t even remember when he got engaged to or married his current wife…

Fox News ‘Doctor’ Makes Bogus Diagnosis of Biden that Fits Trump’s Cognitive Disorder Way Better

The release of special counsel Robert Hur’s report on the documents stored by President Biden has made the top of the news this week for all the wrong reasons. What should have been a story about Biden being fully exonerated for any wrongdoing, was hijacked by wholly inappropriate assessments of his mental acuity.

In a sane world the exoneration of Biden would be the lead story on every newscast. But Hur’s insertion of irrelevant opinions about Biden’s cognitive functioning – which Hur is utterly unqualified to assess – wound up stealing the show. That makes this a failure on the part of the media as well as the special counsel. Which is nothing new, as demonstrated by the reporting on Biden’s recent economic successes.

The Hur report not only concluded that no charges be filed against Biden, it also noted the stark differences between Biden’s actions and those of Donald Trump, who is currently facing 91 felony charges. Hur wrote that…

“Most notably, after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite. According to the indictment, he not only refused to return documents for many months, he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then lie about it. In contrast, Mr. Biden turned in classified documents to the National Archives, the Department of Justice, consented to a search of multiple locations, including his homes and sat for a voluntary interview, and in other ways cooperated with the investigation.”

However, those facts seemed to get short shrift in favor of more salacious, tabloid style, pseudo-journalism. And at the forefront of that wretched reportage was, of course, Fox News. The network that serves as the Ministry of Propaganda for Trump and his MAGA Republicans invited Dr. Nicole Saphier to comment on the Hur report and Biden’s response to it. Note that Saphier is a radiologist with no credentials in psychology or politics. But that didn’t stop her from making a remote diagnosis…

“Actually, the way that [Biden] came out and was attacking [Fox’s White House correspondent] Peter Doocy and others, that actually goes in line with maybe he is having some sort of cognitive decline.’

First of all, Biden didn’t “attack” Doocy. To the contrary, he joked with him before explaining why he disagreed with the typically loaded question that Doocy had asked. Biden has cordial relationships with everyone in the press corps, and often needles them light-heartedly.

More to the point, Saphier’s assertion that a display of anger is evidence of “some sort of cognitive decline,” is not only way off target with regard to Biden, but is actually much more descriptive of Trump. After all, it is Trump who maligns the media as “enemy of the people.” And it is Trump who viciously attacks reporters and news outlets at every opportunity. for instance…

That’s just a few of the insults that Trump has thrown at reporters in the midst of his temper tantrums. So if Saphier thinks that Biden’s mild and cordial tone is evidence of cognitive decline, what must she think of Trump’s raving? And if she needs any further proof of Trump’s cognitive collapse, she might want to take a look at this…

Tucker Carlson Explains Why He’s in Moscow Sucking Up to His BFF Vladimir Putin

This week it was discovered that former Fox News Trump-fluffer, Tucker Carlson, is in Moscow, reportedly to interview the Russian dictator and MAGA hero, Vladimir Putin. It is not especially surprising that Carlson would travel to a country where journalists are routinely arrested or shoved out of windows. Although, that’s not something that he would have to worry about, because he can hardly be described as a journalist.

Furthermore, Carlson is a slobbering sycophant of Putin and has not been shy about about saying so. So it’s unlikely that he would stir the Kremlin’s wrath while he’s there. In fact, Carlson has literally bragged about his support for Russia over America and its allies, saying “Why do I care about what’s going on in the conflict between Ukraine and Russia? And why shouldn’t I root for Russia, because I am.”

Now Carlson has posted a video wherein he seeks to explain the reasons for his pilgrimage to Putinland. True to form, it’s a self-serving four minutes of blatant lies and propaganda. The crux of his message (video below) asserts that…

“Two years into a war that’s reshaping the entire world, most Americans are not informed. They have no real idea what’s happening in this region. […] No one has told them the truth. Their media outlets are corrupt. They lie to their readers and viewers.”

That’s actually true, so long as Carlson is referring to himself and his flagrant dishonesty as revealed in his own communications that were disclosed during the Dominion Voting Systems defamation lawsuit against Fox News. Those lies cost Fox News $787 million. In general, however, Carlson is just insulting the American people who he apparently believes are ignorant lemmings being led around by pseudo-journalists like himself. Which is also true, so long as he’s referring to Fox News viewers and Trump’s MAGA cult.

Carlson then complains that American media reports on Ukraine have been “pep sessions” and propaganda for Ukrainian President Zelenskyy. Then he asserts that “not a single western journalist has bothered to interview the president of the other country involved in this conflict, Vladimir Putin.” That’s actually not true.

While Putin does not often make himself available to western media that he doesn’t control, there have been a few notable exceptions. For instance, NBC News interviewed Putin on June 14, 2021. Financial Times interviewed Putin on July 5, 2019. Megyn Kelly interviewed Putin, March 10, 2018.

The notion that Carlson is the guy to set the American people straight on Putin and his intentions in Ukraine, and more broadly, Eastern Europe and the World, is preposterous. While he yammers about propaganda in the Western press, he leaves out the fact that he is one of its foremost agents of “alternative facts.” And he wouldn’t be allowed entry to Russia, much less an interview with Putin, if they didn’t already know that it would be a pusillanimous puff piece. After all, that’s pretty much all Carlson has ever produced in the past. For example…

Trump and Fox News are So Scared Of Biden, They’re Switching in Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama

In most elections, people generally support the candidate that they believe has the best agenda for boosting their financial well being.

The 2024 presidential election may not hew as closely to that principle as prior elections. The emergence of Donald Trump has introduced some rather unique considerations that skew the strategic landscape in today’s politics. For instance, it’s the first election wherein a major party nominee is facing 91 felony criminal charges, has already been held civilly liable for defamation and rape, and is promising to reign as a dictator.

That said, the economy will still be a significant factor on the minds of voters as they make their choices for president. And the fact that the economy is presently firing on all cylinders presents a real problem for Trump and his mouthpieces at Fox News. The last thing they want is to run against Bidenomics as it is creating jobs, lowering inflation, lifting wages, and boosting the prospects of American business.

Consequently, when Fox News’ Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed Trump for her Sunday morning program, she made a point of deflecting from Biden to two other notable persons who have made it clear that they are not running for president: Gavin Newsom and Michelle Obama. And Trump was all to happy to take the bait…

Bartiromo: You’ve said that you don’t even think [Biden] is who you’re going to face off in November.
Trump: Personally, I don’t think so.
Bartiromo: Well, Gavin Newsom is right out of central casting. How are you going to do up against Gavin Newsom?
Trump: I tell you what. Because he’s so much bullsh*t. He want’s to say how wonderful…it’s doing horribly. His state is doing horribly. You look at the homeless problem. You look at the people that are leaving. You have companies that are leaving. They’re all leaving for other locations. I think Gavin’s easy because California is a disaster. He has been a horrible governor.
Bartiromo: What if it’s Michelle Obama? How are you going to do against Michelle Obama?
Trump: You have to see. Look, I’ve seen polls where she doesn’t do well. She may do well. But I’ve seen polls where I beat her easily. I beat her by a lot. I had four great years.

This segment could not have been a bigger waste of time. Newsom and Obama have been crystal clear that they aren’t considering any campaign for the White House. Trump’s opinion that Biden won’t be his opponent is based solely on his fear that he is likely to lose to him again, just like he did in 2020. So Newsom and Obama are convenient deflections from that recurring fate of humiliation and defeat.

Naturally, Trump insists that he can easily beat Newsom or Obama. He childishly maligns them as he does any opponent that threatens him. And his confidence that he would prevail is a product of his massive, yet fragile ego. You can rest assured that he has never seen a poll showing that he would beat either one of them. But he has surely seen evidence of the booming Biden economy.

What’s more, his assertion that he had “four great years” is contrary to reality. He presided over the worst pandemic in a century. And his ignorance, incompetence, and even deliberate neglect, resulted in far more dire consequences than would have been suffered if an able administrator were in charge.

His term also had the worst record on job creation since the the Great Depression. Plus, he raised taxes for the working class, and lowered them for corporations and the wealthy. He put justices in place who set women’s rights back fifty years. And he sucked up to our foreign enemies while alienating our allies.

In short, Trump had four disastrous years that left the nation poorer, more in debt, sicker, and more divided than ever. Then he left the White House kicking and screaming about election fraud, stole classified documents and lied about it, tried to instigate a violent insurrection, and sought to strongarm state officials into altering election results.

That record makes him vulnerable to Biden, Newsom, Obama, or any other challenger. At this point he would lose to SpongeBob SquarePants. American voters are not about to turn over the country to a criminal crybaby with authoritarian aspirations.

The success of the measures executed by Biden and the Democrats is in stark contrast to those employed by Republicans and Donald Trump. During Trump’s occupation of the White House he devotedly advanced the interests of corporations and the wealthy, to the detriment of average Americans. And the outcome proved to be devastating as he left office with the worst jobs record since Herbert Hoover. That contrast recently seeped into a segment of Fox News’ “The Five”…

The Biden administration’s stellar employment stats also made it into Fox News reporting. Although their reception of what is unarguably good news was something less than celebratory. For the most part they tried to downplay the news or find negative crumbs they could chew on. But in the end, the positivity of the numbers was hard to suppress and/or disguise.

The glad financial tidings were so tremendous that they were even recognized by Trump’s former director of his National Economic Council, Larry Kudlow, who now works for Fox News. Kudlow’s commentary on the matter was surprisingly complimentary. So much so that the Biden-Harris campaign featured it in their social media posts, including their account on Trump’s failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, along with a few other entertaining messages.

[Note: The following posts all appeared on Truth Social, but these are the same posts on Twitter, so as to avoid making people dirty themselves by visiting Trump’s website]

“We had a blowout jobs report. More than twice the consensus expectations. Now, I know many of my conservative friends are trying to drill holes in this report. But you know what, folks? It is what it is. It’s a very strong report. Not every economic stat should be viewed through a political lens. […] 353,000 gained in non-farm payroll – a very big number. Prior two months revised up by 126,000 – another big number. And the bottom line here is more Americans are working. And that’s a good thing no matter what your party registration is.”

The 2024 presidential year is bound to feature more of Trump’s madness, hostility, and failure, as well as Biden’s competence, compassion, and success. Biden has already been focusing his campaign on substantive issues that the American people care about, such as jobs, abortion, climate and environment, healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, diplomacy, and saving democracy.

Meanwhile, Trump has been ranting feverishly about “witch hunts,” “election interference,” and scary brown immigrants. His entire campaign is consumed by two issues that have zero significance to the American people: 1) His “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged and stolen” from him. And 2) His relentless whining about his legal tribulations, such as the 91 criminal charges he faces, and his civil litigation that has already found him liable for defamation and rape.

Therein lie the factors that voters must consider when choosing who to vote for in November. And if anyone is having any trouble with that decision, then they have been hopelessly devoured by the Trump cult. Let them go. They are lost to us.

Thankfully, there are way more Americans who are sane, reachable, and love their country. Many who have not voted before, or not voted for Democrats. And they should be the targets of Democratic campaign efforts going forward.

FLYING KETCHUP ALERT: Peter Doocy of Fox News Reports New Poll that Shows Biden Beating Trump

The 2024 presidential election cycle is still at a pretty early stage with both candidates seeking their party’s nomination. Joe Biden, of course, is the incumbent Democratic candidate with no serious competition. For the past several weeks Biden has trailed Trump in many polls, and has suffered with low approval ratings. But Trump’s approval hasn’t been any better. Nevertheless, Trump and his MAGA media minions have made a point of celebrating every poll that showed Trump ahead, even if it were only by a point or two and within the margin of error. And yet, Trump still can’t find any comfort in the numbers that he slobbers over.

On Thursday morning, Fox News White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, was interviewed by his father, Steve Doocy, on Fox and friends. The subject of the segment was a new poll by Quinnipiac that put President Biden ahead of Trump by six points (50-44). It appears that the American people are starting to feel the the positive effects of Biden’s leadership, and that is beginning to be reflected in the polling. The younger Doocy reported that…

“The trends here may be changing because President Trump, former President Trump, has been leading national poll after national poll over President Biden for the last couple of weeks, but not in this one. And maybe it’s an outlier, maybe it’s not. But Quinnipiac had Biden up on Trump six points, 50 to 44.

“The Biden team has been trying to pivot to general election mode. They’ve been focusing on abortion access and on union jobs. And the Trump team has spent the last week or so dealing with his legal issues.”

Trump is not going to take this well. He has been known to viciously lambast Fox News whenever they are something less than unwaveringly worshipful. And he is particularly infuriated when they dare to report the results of polls that show him behind.

Doocy correctly points out that Biden has been campaigning on substantive issues that the American people care about, such as abortion and jobs. He could have also mentioned the booming economy, climate and environment, healthcare, gun reforms, tax equity, and saving democracy.

Meanwhile, Doocy gently touches on the fact that Trump is wholly consumed by his “legal issues,” which include 91 felony charges and a recent $83.3 million judgment in favor of E. Jean Carroll, the woman he raped and defamed.

Doocy continued his poll analysis, noting that third party candidates like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. take votes from both candidates, but that Biden still beats Trump 39 to 37. Then he observed that Nikki Haley was ahead of Biden 47-42, but that she is unlikely to get the Republican nomination.

All told, this is the sort of report that is likely to trigger a Trumpian aneurism. Mar-a-Lago staff has been put on Red Alert for incoming ketchup bottles. And Dr. Rep. Ronny Jackson, aka “The Candyman,” is on call for distribution of additional doses of Adderall and other psych meds.

BLAMING THE VICTIMS: Fox News Trump-Fluffer Blames DEI for the Deaths of U.S. Soldiers in Jordan

Last week a drone attack on an American military installation in Jordan took the lives of three soldiers stationed there. It was a brutal and unprovoked assault that the Iranian backers of the perpetrators will soon regret. Unfortunately, here at home Fox News is taking their “Blame America First” position that they have taken many times before in similar circumstances. It’s a position that they have adopted from their Dear Leader, Donald Trump…

On Monday morning, Fox’s Senior Trump-fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, interviewed MAGA Republican Rep. August Pfluger (R-TX). Their predictably prejudiced political punditry was rife with disparagement of President Biden. Pfluger attributed responsibility for the attack on what he falsely claimed was Biden’s “weakness.” Never mind that it is Republicans and Fox News who have been purposefully telegraphing a false message of American weakness to our enemies, in effect encouraging them them to launch attacks. But even worse was their attack on the deceased heroes that they were pretending to care about.

Pfluger: It’s the weakness that invites that aggression.
Bartiromo: Well, maybe they’re focused too much on DEI. There’s a concern at the FBI because they’re dropping the FBI special agent requirements in the name of DEI. I’m just wondering if that has anything to do with missing an important drone that just killed three of our heroes.

Bartiromo’s suggestion that DEI programs – Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion – played a role in the soldiers’ deaths is straight-up racism. She and her GOP confederates are repulsed by the idea of treating people with unbiased respect. And they regard such treatment as special favors for inferiors. Which is apparently what they think of the soldiers who died and their brothers and sisters stationed with them.

As if that weren’t bad enough, Bartiromo is also displaying her pitiful ignorance by asserting that lowered requirements for FBI special agents had anything to do with this. First of all, even if the FBI is being more cognizant of DEI, that is not lowering their requirements at all. Secondly, the FBI has no responsibility for the security of military posts outside of the country.

More to the point, Bartiromo is blaming the deceased heroes for their own deaths. It is notable that the three soldiers who were killed were all Black. Which probably contributed to her implying that, due to DEI, they were too incompetent to perform their duties properly. That is not only a vicious lie, it is grossly insensitive, disrespectful, and unpatriotic.

Then again, that’s Fox News for you. They are nothing if not flaming hypocrites. Bartiromo and her audience might be interested in what the Fox News Corporate Responsibility Report says.

Gee… It’s almost as if Fox News corporation supports the sort of equity and civil rights that they vilify on the air 24/7. Too bad their hosts, guests, and viewers, don’t know anything about that.

HE’S TOTALLY UNHINGED: Nikki Haley’s Fox News Hit on Trump Would Make a Great Ad – For Democrats

The 2024 Republican presidential primary continues to generate heat with the field narrowing to just the former reality TV game show host, Donald Trump, and Trump’s former U.N. ambassador, Nikki Haley. The two GOP candidates are starting to take harder swings at one another as they seek to draw support from the remaining Republican voters who haven’t been alienated by the MAGA cult and other right-wing extremists.

For his part, Trump is hammering at Haley, in his typically infantile manner, as a “birdbrain” who doesn’t have what it takes to lead the nation. Never mind that he is wrought with fear and desperation resulting from his mounting political and legal tribulations. He is so consumed with anxiety that he can’t pause to appreciate the primary wins he had in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Haley, on the other hand. is taking advantage of Trump’s psychotic stupor by focusing on his obvious cognitive malfunctions. That includes his confusing Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. However, Haley went even further in an interview on Fox News to highlight the more substantive failures of Trump’s administration during his occupation of the White House. In an exchange with Fox’s Dana Perino (formerly George W. Bush’s press secretary), Haley slammed Trump (video below):

Perino: Ronna McDaniel, the head of the Republican National Committee, on Tuesday night she said that she thinks you should get out of the race. Have you spoken to her?
Haley: I let her know how disappointed I was. Let’s look at the last 48 hours. First of all you had election night. Trump gets on stage and he throws an absolute temper tantrum, talking about revenge. But he says nothing about the American people. Nothing about what he’s gonna do about the wasteful spending that he encouraged and allowed the Republicans and Democrats to do in his term. He said nothing about how he’s gonna secure the border and what he’s going to do different that he didn’t do when he was president before. He said nothing about how he’s going to prevent war.

That’s a pretty comprehensively damning statement of how utterly Trump betrayed the most prominent planks of his political platform. From the economy, to the border, to foreign policy, Trump failed. And her remarks can easily be compiled into a scathing advertisement by Democrats during the general election. And just to add icing to this cake, Haley points out how destructive Trump is to the Republican Party as he aspires to be their authoritarian master:

Haley: Then he goes and says that he’s going to ban anyone from MAGA that donates to me. Think about that. That’s a president who’s supposed to serve every person in America, and you’re deciding that you’re going to have a club and actually ban people from being in and out of your club. And then he goes and encourages the members of the RNC and tries to push them into saying that he’s the nominee in the race. I mean, they got so much pushback that he had to backtrack. He’s totally unhinged.

Trump’s unhingedness has been apparent to most Americans for years. It’s astonishing that more Republicans haven’t recognized it, and that everything Trump does is for Trump. He couldn’t care less about his followers, or his political confederates, or the Party, or the nation. You either worship him unwaveringly, or you’re banished. Marjorie Taylor Green made that point explicitly. And that’s what was behind the proposal by the Republican National Committee to summarily declare that Trump their nominee before the vast majority of people even voted. And to no one’s surprise, he lied about that as well:

However, Democrats should be grateful that Haley provided such a searing condemnation of Trump, who is likely to be the GOP’s candidate in the fall. They should put that ad together and be prepared to air it frequently. And Haley isn’t the only Republican who is inadvertently producing ads for Democrats…
