However, the first presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden has managed to produce a fair amount of agreement that Trump&#8217;s behavior was disruptive, petulant, asinine, and harmful to both his candidacy and the nation&#8217;s pride.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newscorpse.com\/Pix\/Trump\/trump-loser.jpg\" alt=\"Donald Trump\" width=\"550\" height=\"296\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34875\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Despite the overwhelmingly negative response to Trump&#8217;s incessant and insolent interruptions, Trump himself is pleased with his performance and is celebrating the aftermath of the muddy mess he made Tuesday night. That&#8217;s to be expected of a malignant narcissist who is incapable of forming any connection to reality. Consequently, on Thursday morning Trump tweeted this&#8230;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">I won the debate big, based on compilation of polls etc. Thank you!<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump\/status\/1311685923097260034?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">October 1, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Notice that Trump didn&#8217;t bother to cite even a single poll that reported his allegedly big win. But there&#8217;s a good reason for that. There aren&#8217;t any. He is thanking an imaginary compilation of polls that exist exclusively in his diseased brain. These pseudo-surveys are in stark contrast to the actual polls released since the debate that all show Joe Biden crushing Trump by substantial margins ranging from seven to 32 points. Here are five of those polls:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/projects.fivethirtyeight.com\/trump-biden-debate-poll\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">538\/Ipsos<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;Biden got higher marks (59.7-32.9%) for his performance.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2020\/09\/29\/politics\/donald-trump-joe-biden-debate-poll\/index.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CNN\/SSRS<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;Six in 10 debate watchers said former Vice President Joe Biden did the best job in Tuesday&#8217;s debate, and just 28% say President Donald Trump did.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/who-won-debate-first-presidential-biden-trump\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CBS\/YouGov<\/a><\/strong>: &#8220;Forty-eight percent said Biden won, while 41% thought Mr. Trump was the winner.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2020\/10\/01\/poll-trump-biden-presidential-debate-424398\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Politico\/Morning Consult<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;The survey, conducted the day after the candidates\u2019 clash in Cleveland, found that 50 percent of debate watchers surveyed said Biden, the Democratic presidential nominee, performed the best during the debate. Just 34 percent said the same about the Republican incumbent&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vox.com\/2020\/9\/30\/21495284\/data-for-progress-debate-poll\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">Vox\/Data for Progress<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;A new poll by Data for Progress provided exclusively to Vox shows that viewers thought Democratic nominee Joe Biden decisively won Tuesday\u2019s first presidential debate against President Donald Trump, by a 52-39 margin.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2020\/10\/01\/biden-leads-polls-voters-say-he-beat-trump-in-first-debate.html\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">CNBC\/Change Research<\/a>:<\/strong> &#8220;A CNBC\/Change Research poll conducted Tuesday night and Wednesday found 53% of likely voters nationwide said Biden did a better job in the debate, compared with 29% for Trump.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>So where did Trump get his fantasy polling results? From Fox News, of course. Sean Hannity giddily <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2020\/09\/30\/reliable-polls-show-that-biden-won-debate-so-those-arent-what-trumps-allies-are-highlighting\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">reported<\/a><\/strong> the <em>\u201cinstant polls&#8221;<\/em> that some media conduct by simply asking the opinions of whoever happens to be reading their tweets at the moment. <em>&#8220;I\u2019m sure the mainstream media will have corrupt polls,&#8221;<\/em> Hannity cackled, <em>&#8220;as they always do, but those [CSPAN and Telemundo] are the two flash polls that we have already.\u201d<\/em> And Trump&#8217;s Minister of Propaganda (aka press secretary), Kayleigh McEnany, tweeted much the same thing:<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">VERDICT: President <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/realDonaldTrump?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">@realDonaldTrump<\/a> WINS ??<\/p>\n<p>CSPAN: ? Trump (53% Trump; 29% Biden)<\/p>\n<p>Telemundo: ? Trump (66% Trump; 34% Biden)<\/p>\n<p>CNN: ? Trump (3 votes Trump; 1 vote Biden of decided voters) <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/eCaskcjTNk\">pic.twitter.com\/eCaskcjTNk<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Kayleigh McEnany (@kayleighmcenany) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/kayleighmcenany\/status\/1311155585056817160?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 30, 2020<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>None of these numbers that the Trump toadies are touting are rooted in statistical reality. They have no scientific basis and represent nothing more than the ditzy clicking of amped up Internet Trolls for Trump. But it is all that Trump can cling to given the stinging truth that he is profoundly unpopular and widely despised. Which is what the real polls show conclusively.<\/p>\n<p>With specific regard to the debate, Trump&#8217;s abysmal personality was so glaringly on display that there can be no escape from the well-deserved deluge of disgust he&#8217;s receiving. After acting out like a psychotic toddler, refusing to denounce white supremacy, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.newscorpse.com\/ncWP\/?p=46897\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_blank\">lying every time he opened his mouth<\/a><\/strong>, and reaffirming his loathsome reputation for belligerent incoherence, Trump is lucky he wasn&#8217;t carted off to the psyche ward.
