Next week Joe Biden will be inaugurated as the 46th President of the United States of America. Kamala Harris will be inaugurated as the first woman ever to serve as Vice-President. And Donald Trump, whose brazen dishonesty, hostility, and ignorance, will be relegated to history’s Hall of Shame as the first and only reality TV game show host to be impeached twice.<\/p>\n

Given the extraordinary and dangerous circumstances of these troubled times, The inauguration’s events will be limited in order to protect the participants and audiences celebrating our nation’s democracy. The still surging COVID–19 pandemic, that Trump so negligently and incompetently mismanaged, demands that traditional festivities be curtailed. However, the coronavirus isn’t the only new obstacle impeding the celebration.<\/p>\n

The hard-won peaceful transfer of power that Trump<\/a><\/strong> and his seditious confederates<\/a><\/strong> purposefully endeavored to disrupt<\/a><\/strong> is also threatened by his mob army of cult disciples. Consequently, Biden’s inauguration will be transformed into a virtual affair that forgoes the glamorous balls and parades of the past. It will culminate with a live broadcast that pays tribute to the frontline heroes who have led the nation through the crises of the past year.<\/p>\n

Sadly, not every media player is on board with this tribute to the American people, or the celebration of the swearing in of the nation’s next leader. As reported by Politico<\/a><\/strong>…<\/p>\n

“President-elect Joe Biden\u2019s inaugural committee is producing a television special for the night of his inauguration next week in lieu of the normal in-person festivities, an official familiar with the plans told POLITICO.<\/p>\n

“The prime-time event will air on broadcast channels ABC, CBS and NBC but not Fox. Cable news networks CNN and MSNBC will carry it live. Fox News will not.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

So Fox News, the network that drapes the American flag over every logo and promo it runs, and splashes pseudo-patriotic rhetoric throughout the programs hosted by sanctimonious, right-wing propagandists, is ditching this televised tribute to America. Fox is ringing in the new year and the new administration in a manner that is typical of their rancid political biases and ideological hypocrisy. They are demonstrating that their recent calls for “unity”<\/em> (by which they mean impunity<\/a><\/strong>) has really been disingenuous whining aimed at evading accountability for the violence that their traitorous “talent”<\/em> disseminate.<\/p>\n

If anyone thought that Fox News would become more moderate in the post-Trump era, they will be sorely disappointed<\/a><\/strong>. Fox was founded with the mission to blindly advance an ultra-conservative agenda and to assault their political foes. And that’s just what they intend to do going forward.<\/p>\n

The Biden television special will be hosted by Tom Hanks and will feature performances by Demi Lovato, Justin Timberlake, Ant Clemons, Jon Bon Jovi, and many of the heroes that deserve our nation’s respect and honor.<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see what Fox News airs instead of the Inauguration program. Will they simply run their regular schedule with harping blowhards Sean Hannity, Laura Ingram, Tucker Carlson, and their clown car cavalcade of raving rightists? Or will they reach out to their own celebrity supporters like Scott Baio, Jon Voight, Ted Nugent, and the MyPillow guy?<\/p>\n

We’ll see. But we won’t have to wonder who America will be watching while Fox News pouts in their corner of the media, producing an evening intended only for their despondent and desperate impeached superfan as he is carted off to Mar-a-Lago in disgrace.<\/p>\n
