Last month a book was published that purported to reveal an alleged mental incapacity of President Joe Biden. The authors of “Original Sin,”<\/em> Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson, asserted that Biden’s condition was covered up by his staff and family, but they never actually provided any evidence of any act or behavior that impacted his ability to govern efficiently and successfully. Which may account for the book’s poor reception and the ratings decline of Tappers CNN program.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the failure of the book to document the core premise of its authors didn’t stop them, or much of the mainstream media, from engaging in obsessive coverage of the book to the exclusion of many other far more newsworthy issues. While the Washington press has been fixated on dubious accusations aimed at Biden, Trump has been busy providing real proof of severe cognitive decline. And it’s much worse with Trump if only because he is not a former president in retirement on a Delaware beach, but is the current occupant of the White House whose deficiencies could result in catastrophes.
