He is a bottomless pit of ignorance and malaprops that would have institutionalized anyone without great wealth and\/or power.<\/p>\n So it is laughable that Trump just declared that “The days of stupidity are over in the USA!!!”<\/em> How would he know? His declaration was in reference to his determination to get rid of alternative energy sources in favor of what he ridiculously calls “clean, beautiful, coal,”<\/em> and his passion to “drill baby drill”<\/em> for unlimited barrels of oil. He prefers an energy plan that sickens those who work in the industry, and poisons the planet for everyone else. Trump raged<\/a><\/strong> on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social<\/a><\/strong>, that…<\/p>\n “Any State that has built and relied on WINDMILLS and SOLAR for power are seeing RECORD BREAKING INCREASES IN ELECTRICITY AND ENERGY COSTS. THE SCAM OF THE CENTURY! We will not approve wind or farmer destroying Solar. The days of stupidity are over in the USA!!! MAGA”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Virtually every word of that harangue is a lie – and pretty darn stupid. To begin with, Trump might be surprised to learn that his hostility toward many of the states that have invested in clean energy are predominantly Republican. In fact, the state with the most generation of wind and solar energy is Texas<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n “As the national leader in wind power generation, Texas produced 124,936 GWh of wind energy. Texas also ranks second in solar power, just behind California, at 44,506 GWh produced in 2024. By the end of 2024, the Lone Star State produced 166,660 GWh of renewable energy, or about 16% of our national clean energy supply. That\u2019s enough green energy to power over 15 million U.S. households for a year! […] [T]heir competitive market is driving clean energy investments that benefit millions of Texas homes and businesses.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The top ten clean energy producing states also include Iowa, Oklahoma, and Florida. Which raises the question of what the Republican governors of those states think of Trump’s anti-stupidity initiative.<\/p>\n What’s more, Trump’s assertion that states with significant wind and solar production “are seeing RECORD BREAKING INCREASES IN ELECTRICITY AND ENERGY COSTS,”<\/em> is likewise false – and stupid. The truth, according to the U.S. Department of Energy<\/a><\/strong> is that…<\/p>\n “Energy innovations can significantly help reduce American\u2019s energy bills. In fact, in many parts of the country, renewable energy innovations like solar and wind energy are the cheapest forms of new electricity generation.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n This nonsense is nothing new for Trump. He has been making these preposterous allegations for years. And as part of his derangement, he asserts that wind turbines kills birds, drives whales crazy, and cause cancer. And he wants to prohibit farmers from deciding how their land is used. If they want to earn extra income by utilizing available land for solar panels or wind turbines, tough luck. In another recent outburst, trump complained that<\/a><\/strong>…<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re putting up wind, wind. It doesn\u2019t work. […] [W]ith all of the windmills that China sends us where we waste our money because it\u2019s the most expensive energy \u2013 you know they make about 95% of them, wind turbines \u2013 I have never seen a wind farm in China. Why is that?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n Once again, that is easily verified as entirely untrue<\/a><\/strong>. In fact…<\/p>\n “China\u2019s wind farms produced over 100 terawatt hours (TWh) of electricity in March, the highest monthly total ever by a single country and as much as all of Europe and North America combined, data from energy think tank Ember shows.”<\/p>\n \u201cThe production total was 25% more than during the same month in 2023, and helps extend China\u2019s dominant position as by far the world\u2019s largest renewable energy producer [and is] part of Beijing\u2019s ambitious plan to reach carbon neutrality by 2060.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n The dishonesty – and stupidity – of Donald Trump is flying off the charts.
