The flagrant hostilities expressed by Donald Trump toward his fellow Americans in the Democratic Party are symptoms of a wholly unprecedented psychosis in an American president. He isn’t merely opposing them politically. He has a visceral hatred for them and regards them as enemies of the state. And “them”<\/em> I mean all Americans who don’t worship Dear Leader Trump.<\/p>\n

This week Trump posted a meme on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social<\/a><\/strong>, in which he called Democrats “The Party of Hate, Evil, and Satan<\/a><\/strong>.”<\/em> Which is particularly repulsive following the shooting of conservative activist, Charlie Kirk, when Trump and others in politics are lecturing on the importance of unifying the country and avoiding the sort of hateful rhetoric that could incite violence. Clearly he doesn’t mean that for himself and his MAGA cronies.<\/p>\n

Trump is totally ignoring the calls for civility, even from his own party. To the contrary, he is escalating the animus. And not just to deliver insults to his political foes. He is directing his regime to deliberately abuse the power of his office in order to harm Democrats.<\/p>\n

For example, his Energy Secretary, Chris Wright, was dispatched to Fox News on Friday where he was asked a direct question about Trump’s obvious efforts to hurt Democrats. And, surprisingly, Wright was briefly challenged by Fox’s Stuart Varney…<\/p>\n

Varney:<\/strong> You canceled, I believe, almost $8 billion of energy projects across the country. Most of these projects are in blue states. The Democrats are saying they’re being punished for their politics. So Mr. Secretary, are you punishing the blue states?
\nWright:<\/strong> We are punishing the wasteful spending of taxpayer dollars. Do you and your viewers want to pay $70 million to decarbonize mac and cheese? Do you want to pay to decarbonize Uber Eats in San Francisco, or subsidize E-bike lanes lanes in Portlandia? People don’t want to pay taxpayer money on that.
