When the Republican Party chose Mike Johnson as their leader, and subsequently House Speaker, it was a desperation move following the crash of former Speaker Kevin McCarthy and the failure of any other Republican to garner enough votes<\/a><\/strong> for the job.<\/p>\n

McCarthy was booted from the post because he agreed to a Continuing Resolution that passed with Democratic support. Then the GOP took three weeks to select Johnson after running through such losers as Steve Scalise, Jim Jordan, and Tom Emmer. So naturally, Johnson is scared witless of actually doing his job, which requires negotiating with Democrats. The result is that he’s living down to the low expectations people had of him from the start.<\/p>\n

During his morning press briefing on Tuesday, Johnson sought to manufacture yet another fallacious “scandal”<\/em> to deflect from his incompetent “leadership.”<\/em> He told the assembled media about a report just released by the GOP chair of the House Oversight Committee that contained nothing but fiction about President Biden and the pardons he issued. Johnson ranted that…<\/p>\n

“Oversight chairman James Comer released a blockbuster report on the ‘Biden Autopen Presidency.’ And this report includes 47 hours worth of transcripts and testimony revealing that every executive action signed by the autopen without written authorization should be voided…Including all the pardons that he signed.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
