Trump is truly doing the devil’s work as he imposes inflationary tariffs that increase the cost of living, bombs boats in the Caribbean without any evidence that they are anything but innocent fishermen, rounds up migrants for deportation to foreign gulags, prosecutes his political foes, and keeps the government shutdown while the American people suffer from loss of pay and benefits.<\/p>\n

Now, just in time for Halloween, Trump is issuing threats that should scare the pants of all decent, patriotic Americans. Because he has been unable to shove his despicable and unpopular policies down the throats of the Democratic representatives of the people, which triggers his frustration of not reigning like an all-powerful dictator, Trump is commanding his MAGA GOP puppets in Congress to “NUKE”<\/em> the longstanding parliamentary rules of the Senate in order to get his way.<\/p>\n

Trump posted an interminably long comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social<\/a><\/strong>, wherein he called for Republicans to invoke what he calls the “”Nuclear Option.”<\/em> His raging edict<\/a><\/strong> to eliminate the filibuster includes the following excerpts…<\/p>\n

“It is now time for the Republicans to play their \u201cTRUMP CARD,\u201d and go for what is called the Nuclear Option \u2014 Get rid of the Filibuster, and get rid of it, NOW!” […]<\/p>\n

“Just a short while ago, the Democrats, while in power, fought for three years to do this, but were unable to pull it off…to substantially expand (PACK!) the United States Supreme Court, make Washington, D.C. and Puerto Rico States…and many other highly destructive things.” […]<\/p>\n

“I want to do it in order to take advantage of the Democrats.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Scary, isn’t it? But what’s really frightening about it should worry Republicans more than the Democrats that Trump is aiming to “take advantage of.”<\/em> Because while there would surely be some near-term political atrocities, finishing off the filibuster could result in some unintended terror for the Trumpists when, inevitably, the Democrats regain the majority in Congress, and the White House. Long desired Democratic legislation could be passed without any interference from the GOP obstructionists. For instance…<\/p>\n
