Florida congressman, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/stories\/0412\/74808.html\" target=\"_blank\">Sarah Palin&#8217;s choice<\/a> for Mitt Romney&#8217;s running mate, Allen West, has once again uttered something so ridiculous you can&#8217;t help but wonder if he is deliberately engaging in some sort of performance art. Let&#8217;s go to the videotape:<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"274\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E6J6z7g5Ojg\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><strong>Moderator:<\/strong> What percentage of the American legislature do you think are card-carrying Marxists or International Socialist?<\/p>\n<p><strong>West:<\/strong> It&#8217;s a good question. I believe there&#8217;s about 78 to 81 members of the Democrat Party who are members of the Communist Party. It&#8217;s called the Congressional Progressive Caucus.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Perhaps West would like to reinstate the House Un-American Activities Committee. Maybe he has a list of communists in his hand he would be willing to share with us. Would he like to start blacklisting people again? That went over so well the first time.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/Pix\/Caps\/foxnation-west-goebbels.jpg\" alt=\"Allen West\" class=\"alignleft\" width=\"250\" \/>Allen West is a certified whack-job. It is utterly unfathomable how he could have been elected in the first place, and it boggles the mind to imagine that he might be reelected in November. The folks promoting him as a vice-presidential candidate (Herman Cain joined Palin) are lunatics. West has not even completed his first term in the House and already he has racked up a repulsive record of vile commentaries that rely heavily on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newscorpse.com\/ncWP\/?p=5970\" target=\"_blank\">references to Nazis<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Among those promoting West are the propagandists at Fox News. Their Fox Nation approvingly posted this video and their readers posted comments that praised West for his <em>&#8220;courage.&#8221;<\/em> To be clear, they are referring to the courage to make wild, unsubstantiated accusations about the treasonous subversiveness of his colleagues in congress. And if you&#8217;re concerned that he might have been taken out of context, his spokesperson helpfully clarified what he meant:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Congressman was referring to the 76 members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus. The Communist Party has publicly referred to the Progressive Caucus as its allies. The Progressive Caucus speaks for itself. These individuals certainly aren&#8217;t proponents of free markets or individual economic freedom.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Well then, that clears that up. If this guy is reelected there is something seriously wrong with Florida&#8217;s 22nd congressional district.
