It was just a matter of time. Donald Trump has been expressing his virulent brand of bigotry for decades. His blatant prejudice is one of the most compelling factors for his popularity among his MAGA disciples who share his inbred hatred for people of color and non-European immigrants. So no one should be surprised that his media mouthpieces are parroting his reprehensible rhetoric.<\/p>\n

Trump has long disparaged immigrants who come from what he calls “shithole”<\/em> countries. And this week he has made a point of maligning American citizens who migrated from Somali, calling them all criminals and pledging to have them them thrown out of the country. In fact, he says he is terminating all immigration from third world countries and reviewing the status of those currently in the U.S.<\/p>\n

On Monday’s episode of his radio program, Sean Hannity of Fox News weighed in on this subject<\/a><\/strong>. Although he intended to praise Dear Leader Trump, the actual content of his monologue was ironically critical. Hannity began by saying that…<\/p>\n

“I’m not going to get in the gutter with some people and what they’re saying. The left is insane enough. But when I hear and listen to some people that claim to be MAGA and Trump supporters and the things that they utter are so insane.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Well then. That’s actually a pretty rational assessment of the MAGA community. You have to wonder what took Hannity so long to notice it. However, as he continued he seemed to lose the plot. In a series of comments intended to exalt Trump, Hannity actually provided opportunities to expose the vile racism that has been such a prominent part of his character, or lack thereof. What follows are Hannity’s observations with relevant annotations.<\/p>\n

“If you hear somebody that’s racist, that’s probably a good indication that they’re not worth your time.”<\/strong>
\nIn Trump\u2019s mind if you are a Black critic of Trump you are automatically a low IQ racist<\/a><\/strong>. That includes Kamala, Harris, Jasmine Crockett, Maxine Waters, Don Lemon, LeBron James, etc.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“If somebody’s a white nationalist, they’re probably not worth your time.”<\/strong>
\nRemember Trump’s support for “the very fine people on both sides”<\/em> of the white nationalist protest in Charlottesville?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“If they praise Adolf Hitler, they’re probably not somebody that’s worth your time.”<\/strong>
\nTrump famously kept a book of Hitler’s speeches<\/a><\/strong> by his bedside, and he told members of his White House staff<\/a><\/strong> that “I need the kind of generals that Hitler had.”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

“If they have a virulent anti-Semitic hatred, they’re probably not worth listening to.”<\/strong>
\nDuring the New York City mayoral race, Trump whined<\/a><\/strong> that “Any Jewish person that votes for Zohran Mamdani…is a stupid person!!!”<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Hannity went on to complain about the MAGA minions who “have bizarre conspiracy theories”<\/em> or are just “pure character assassins.”<\/em> That doesn’t narrow it down very much. It’s pretty much all of them. And that’s particularly true with regard to his MAGA-sty himself, Donald Trump.<\/p>\n

However, while Hannity appears to be on the verge of actually getting it, don’t expect too much of him. He’s a fully indoctrinated MAGA-tist and isn’t likely to see the light. He doesn’t even know that he’s shining the light on Trump’s racism. Or, for that matter, his own.<\/p>\n
