Isn’t it comforting to know that while the American people are struggling to make ends meet, Donald Trump is focusing all of his attention on the beautification of Washington, D.C. He is building a billion dollar vanity ballroom next to the White House. He is doing an unnecessary renovation of the Reflecting Pool by the Lincoln Memorial. He’s shutting down the Kennedy Center to rehab it for reasons no one understands. And he has several remodeling projects in progress at the White House.<\/p>\n

Never mind that the economy is suffering from rising inflation. Or that there’s a war going on against Iran that Trump can’t figure out how to end. Or that people can’t afford health insurance, or food, or housing, and the programs that provide aid are being slashed. Or that the national debt is hitting record highs. It appears that there is only enough money in the treasury to fund Trump’s pet projects, but nothing that benefits the American people.<\/p>\n

The Trump administration’s solutions to these problems is to pretend that they don’t exist. To that end they have sent their best messenger, JD Vance, into the fray to make the case that everything is just hunky dory. And he’s doing a bang up job of it.<\/p>\n

Vance showed up in the White House Press Briefing Room Tuesday morning in place of Trump’s Propaganda Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who is on maternity leave. He began by assuring the assembled reporters that Trump never said that he didn’t care about people’s financial situations (he did say it<\/a><\/strong>), and defending Trump’s stock trading<\/a><\/strong> in companies that he has a financial interest in, and condemning fraudulent schemes that sound exactly like what Trump engages in.<\/p>\n

Amidst this embarrassing display poorly dispensed PR, Vance was asked about the nearly $2 billion “Anti-Weaponization”<\/em> slush fund that Trump connived with his “Justice”<\/em> Department to reward his StormTrumpers. Which led to this boneheaded bomblet that he dropped on the reporters…<\/p>\n
