Not that Colbert has retired from the worlds of either politics or comedy. The acclaim, however, is not universal. Colbert has managed to stir the ire of a notoriously humorless critic, Donald Trump, who stayed up late to bash Colbert after the last episode of his show was in the can. As Bruce Springsteen said earlier in the week, Colbert is “the first guy in America who lost his show because we’ve got a president who can’t take a joke, [and that Paramount\/CBS honchos] Larry and David Ellison feel the need to kiss his ass to get what they want.”<\/em> <\/p>\n
