In recent days Trump’s illegal war against Iran has devolved into a cesspool of acrimony<\/a><\/strong> and retaliatory threats, while Trump claimed he had just successfully negotiated a deal for peace. Consequently, it should come as no surprise that Trump’s approval ratings are in the toilet. Which makes it all the more bizarre that he seems to think that he’s riding a wave of massive popularity.<\/p>\n On Friday morning Trump posted a comment<\/a><\/strong> on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social<\/a><\/strong>, “bragging”<\/em> about having found a poll that “accurately”<\/em> measures how universally beloved he is. He claims, without providing a source, that he has approval ratings of “65% and more.”<\/em> In the post he linked to an article<\/a><\/strong> by the rightist rag Newsmax, that cited a poll putting him at only 50%. And that one was done by the notoriously biased, right-wing pollster McLaughlin. And even that was ridiculously inflated.
