The prospects for Democrats regaining majorities in the House of Representatives and the Senate are growing and are strong enough that Trump and his confederates are becoming increasingly desperate to engage in some sort of election interference. That has already begun with the Trump regime spewing nonsense about Democrats being communists who are purposely trying to destroy America.<\/p>\n

Another tactic in Trump’s bag of dirty tricks is his use of federal resources to buy the support of state officials and voters. The latest example of this came in a series of posts to his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social<\/a><\/strong>, wherein he announced that he is distributing nearly a billion dollars to nine states that he claims is for disaster relief. The list of states is conspicuously partisan in that they are all states that he won in 2024, including…<\/p>\n

Georgia<\/a>: $318.3 Million; Michigan<\/a>: $32.1 Million; Louisiana<\/a>: $8.6 Million; Wisconsin<\/a>: $22.6 Million; Missouri<\/a>: $27.6 Million; Idaho<\/a>: $4.5 Million; Mississippi<\/a>: $11 Million; Kansas<\/a>: $5.5 Million; and Florida<\/a>: $415.9 Million; Total = 846.1Million.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trump didn’t say where these funds would be coming from. Under ordinary circumstances disaster relief would be provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). But Trump has had a rocky relationship with them that has gone back and forth between reluctant cooperation and outright detestation.<\/p>\n

For instance, in January Trump announced a batch of dubious disbursements providing millions of dollars to many of the same states. He posted<\/a><\/strong> on Truth social that “We are working closely with FEMA.”<\/em><\/p>\n

However, a year prior to that, and just after his second inauguration, Trump posted<\/a><\/strong> a comment in all caps saying that “FEMA SHOULD BE TERMINATED! IT HAS BEEN SLOW AND TOTALLY INEFFECTIVE. INDIVIDUAL STATES SHOULD HANDLE STORMS, ETC.”<\/em><\/p>\n

That’s the sort of derangement that we are seeing from Trump in ever more frequent lapses of his cognitive abilities. Yet he remains mentally stable enough to execute his devious schemes to acquire and retain power and wealth at the expense of the American people.<\/p>\n

The problem is that these types of mental impairments are degenerative, and we can only expect them to get worse as time goes by. And sadly, no one in his family or political circles cares enough about him or the nation to have him committed.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: It is now being reported that under Trump <\/strong>FEMA has actually declined<\/a><\/strong> $227 million in disaster relief to four blue states that didn’t vote for him.<\/p>\n
