Perhaps the most difficult job in the administration of Donald Trump is that of press secretary. The person tasked with being the spokesperson for Trump has to have the ability to invent and dispense flagrant lies every day with the shamelessness of a tone deaf prima donna. Fortunately for Trump, he found such a person in Karoline Leavitt, a young and eager Trump-fluffer with the devotion of a glassy-eyed cult disciple.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Trump, Leavitt has just announced<\/a><\/strong> that she will be resigning from her post at the end of August in order to spend more time lying to her family. It’s going to be a challenge to replace Leavitt, who will be best remembered for polluting the White House Press Room with brazenly biased MAGA media.<\/p>\n

In her first week as Propaganda Secretary, Leavitt bragged that “I take great pride in opening up this room to new media voices.”<\/em> By which she meant partisan hacks from Breitbart and Russian-financed podcasters like Tim Pool. This led to such probing questions<\/a><\/strong> about Trump as “He actually looks healthier than ever before. Is he working out with Bobby Kennedy?” That was asked by Cara Castronuova of Lindell TV.<\/p>\n

That’s quite a legacy. But now Leavitt is quitting. Ironically it is just a couple of days after Trump left her on Air Force One while it was under threat of an attack by Iran. Trump snuck out in a catering container<\/a><\/strong>, but left Leavitt, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant, advisor Stephen Miller, the press corps, the crew, and others, as expendable decoys. If Iran went through with the attack they would have been killed, along with potentially innumerable others on the ground where the plane crashed. He could have just canceled the flight until it was safe. Might that have played a role in her sudden resignation?<\/p>\n

Now Trump will need to find a new Propaganda Secretary. And within his MAGA cult there are plenty of candidates. What will make the decision difficult is that no one can live up to Trump’s ability to lie. Some people have been speculating about CNN’s Scott Jennings and Breitbart’s Matthew Boyle. But let’s face it, Trump is more likely to choose another young woman, and preferably a blond. Among the contenders are…<\/p>\n
