CBS Reporter Deletes and Apologizes for Blatantly Biased Tweet Smearing Abdul El-Sayed

When right-wing billionaire, and Donald Trump pal, David Ellison bought Paramount he swore that he wouldn’t interfere with the news programming on CBS which Paramount owns. Then he immediately put the far right Bari Weiss in charge of the whole news operation. He knew how Weiss would run things, so that his interference wouldn’t be necessary.

Donald Trump on CBS News (See BS)

And Ellison was right. This new regime at CBS wasted no time slanting the news to align with Trump’s MAGA agenda. Which brought about numerous resignations and firings that tilted the network farther to the right, including on iconic programs like 60 Minutes. This had the predictable result of triggering a stark decline in viewership. Clearly there was no intention of running a fair news enterprise, despite the hollow claims.

Evidence of the political partisanship at CBS was displayed on Saturday following a town hall with Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, candidate for the Senate in Michigan. CBS correspondent Jan Crawford posted a tweet commenting on an exchange between El-Sayed and an audience member named Tommy. The exchange included the following…

Tommy: Will you disavow the Muslim Brotherhood?
El-Sayed: Sure. Yeah. Absolutely, Why are you asking the question?
Tommy: Because I have not heard you disavow them yet. […]
El-Sayed: You’re asking the question because implicitly you assume that I’ll have dual loyalties, right? You assume that somehow I wouldn’t disavow, or that I’ll have some higher order allegiance than the Constitution.

In his response El-Sayed “Absolutely” disavowed the Muslim Brotherhood. And he also gave Tommy a lesson in the Constitution’s protections of religious freedom. But somehow that wasn’t good enough for Crawford, who tweeted…

“Tommy, thank you. I had to watch this twice to catch Dr. Abdul El-Sayed’s nanosecond, ‘yeah, absolutely,’ response. His subsequent uninterrupted diatribe proving your exact point is the kind of spectacular self-own is the kind ppl only dream about triggering. Congrats.”

WTF? Did anyone else have to watch it twice to hear El-Sayed’s disavowal, which he actually made two times? And how did El-Sayed’s “diatribe” (a loaded word) on the Constitution prove Tommy’s point that El-Sayed must have dual loyalties because he’s a Muslim?

Crawford’s tweet was so biased and inappropriate that even her bosses at CBS were displeased. They ordered her to delete it, which she did saying that…

“Earlier, I tweeted a video from an Abdul El-Sayed town hall. I deleted that tweet because it was a violation of CBS News standards. I apologize.”

You have to wonder what specific “standards” Crawford was in violation of. Notice that Crawford only mentions that she deleted the video, not her biased remarks. So maybe that was what violated CBS’ standards: showing a video that made a Democrat look good.

What’s more, CBS’ standards also don’t seem to include conducting any investigation of Tommy who, as it turns out, was a partisan plant. According to Marisa Kabas of The Handbasket, he is the son of a GOP strategist, and was a staffer for Republican Sen. Josh Hawley. And after being dressed down by El-Sayed, he abruptly left the hall. But not before refusing to disavow imposing Christian religious doctrine into American law.

For good measure, El-Sayed’s opponent, Mike Rogers, went on CNN and, despite the video evidence, denied that El-Sayed disavowed the Muslim Brotherhood. Even after he was told by CNN’s Dana Bash that El-Sayed did make a clear disavowal, Rogers whined, “No, that’s not true.”

The unbridled bigotry of Republicans has long been a core element of their ideology. And it’s sad to see it being adopted by a CBS correspondent. El-Sayed’s reply to Tommy went viral because it showed him as a smart, compassionate, patriot. And that ought to have been the takeaway of the reporting by Crawford and CBS. But that seems like too much to hope for in the Trump/Ellison era.

The midterm elections are now a little over two weeks away. And most polls are currently predicting bad news for Donald Trump and his Republican comrades. Democrats have better than even odds of winning majorities in both the House and the Senate.

In response, Trump has embarked on a national MAGA crusade to fire up his glassy-eyed cult followers. Although his itinerary of almost exclusively red states doesn’t appear to be aimed at producing a GOP congressional victory, but merely avoiding a devastating Republican blowout. And the biggest supporters of Trump’s crusade are Democrats, who welcome the highly unpopular president campaigning for Republicans who don’t even want him in their states.

Among those who still regard Trump as a positive contributor to the Republican cause is Sean Hannity of Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. On Friday night he aired a segment wherein he intended to add his analysis of the unfolding election. And while he described what he was feeling as “optimism,” his voice and demeanor didn’t seem to agree. To the contrary, Hannity sounded downright depressed and utterly lacking in confidence. See for yourself…

“I am watching these Senate races and, day by day, I am getting more cautiously optimistic. Let me explain why.

“I do believe that Maine is definitely going our way. I think this guy [Troy Jackson] was out of his mind telling a woman to shut up. I think [Abdul] El-Sayed is collapsing under the heavy burden of his lying. The same with [James] Talarico. I see Ohio coming back, Iowa coming back. I’m not as worried as the media wanted me to be about places like Kansas and Nebraska.

“So I think that things are generally headed in a much better direction. I might be wrong. It will only mean something if everybody goes out and votes and does their part, and I hope they do.”

Does Hannity sound optimistic to you? He’s making up stories about “collapsing” campaigns for Democrats, when the polls show Democrats gaining or steady. You’ll notice that he doesn’t cite a single poll to support his rosy claims. Even more telling is his admission that “I might be wrong.” That’s the sort of concession that Hannity rarely makes. Particularly if he actually believes the hype he’s spewing.

Finally, Hannity begs his viewers to show up at the polls. But he’s not being especially firm about it. Rather than insisting that it’s a critical civic duty and that the GOP needs their support to save the nation from communists, he lapses into a rather weak appeal of “hope” that viewers do their part. How inspiring!

If Hannity is this despondent about the future fate of the GOP, it is indicative of how deep a hole they are in. It’s an unspoken confession of futility and defeat. But he’s right about one thing: “It will only mean something if everybody goes out and votes.” And that goes for Democrats too. Although from the looks of it. Democrats are a lot more upbeat and enthusiastic about turning out in record numbers to save democracy and crush Trump’s dwindling MAGA movement.

If Democrats maintain their excitement through November 3, we’ll see even more miserable mood swings from Hannity, from his comrades at Fox News, and from their Dear Leader Trump, who will likely erupt like Vesuvius, knowing that he has become the lamest of ducks for the remaining two years of his term. That is, if he is even able to finish it.

WINNING? Trump’s Truth Social is Bleeding Users as it Suffers a Brutal 30% Drop

Four years ago Donald Trump launched his own official propaganda platform, Truth Social, after he was banned from Twitter “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” That was before Elon Musk took over and later restored Trump’s account.

Ever since Truth Social began it has been an abysmal failure. Much like almost every other Trump business. After all, the guy who bankrupted four casinos, and had both his phony university and scam charity shuttered by the courts for fraud, can hardly be expected to make a profit on more conventional enterprises. And with regard to Truth Social, Trump is living down to his rancid reputation. As reported by The Independent…

“Donald Trump’s Truth Social has seen a staggering drop in users — despite the president’s steady stream of daily posts on the platform. Truth Social’s traffic fell more than 30 percent over the past year, according to data from digital intelligence firm Similarweb. The social media platform averaged about 260,000 daily users last month, a sharp drop from its peak of 420,000 in June 2025.”

So in the span of one year – an election year – Truth Social lost about a third of its traffic. And while Trump is posting every day like madman for his 13 million glassy-eyed cult followers, his entire website isn’t generating as much traffic in a whole day as a single moderately successful tweet. For instance, this tweet got more than 300,000 views. By comparison, Twitter/X has 130 million daily users.

Truth Social’s parent company, Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), recently issued a quarterly report that showed a loss of $238 million on paltry revenue of less than $2 million. And it’s stock has crated to an all time low of 6.99, a 92% decline from its high point. This is even after the company sought to illegally sell insider trading info for $100,000.

True to form, TMTG and Truth Social have been practicing on the fringes of legality from the start. It’s no wonder that the company is shedding dollars and dupes. What follows are some more examples…

Nevertheless, the news caused TMTG’s stock to surge 33%, but two weeks later reversed course back to around $12.80. So anyone who jumped in on the news is already suffering a 25% loss.

Trump’s associates in his truthless, anti-social media venture were arrested and charged with insider trading. Reports indicate that “the three individuals together made more than $22 million in illegal profits.”

Truth Social Disease: Ads on Trump’s Twitter Ripoff are Mostly Scams and Trump-Fluffing Merch
Advertisers are afraid of their ads being juxtaposed with hate speech and other noxious content. Consequently, the only advertisers who are willing to shell out are sketchy scammers, conspiracy theorists, and junk peddlers.

Fox News Poll Reveals Why Trump and His MAGA Republicans Are Losing the Midterms So Badly

The countdown to the midterm election is proceeding apace with Donald Trump himself dropping everything to embark on a campaign tour to almost exclusively red states in order to head off a historic Blue Tsunami that threatens to flush out Republican politicians across the nation.

The redness of Trump’s itinerary is evidence that the GOP has effectively given up on many of the competitive races where Democrats are leading. What’s more, many Republicans have actually asked Trump to stay away because he is such a toxic entity that they believe his presence will hurt more than help. Of course Trump himself doesn’t believe that. He’s convinced that he is the GOP’s last best hope.

If you need any further proof that Trump is an albatross around the neck of the GOP, take a look at the new poll from Fox News – that’s right, Fox News – that shows pretty conclusively why Trump and the Republican Party are so pitifully out of favor with the American people.

The poll asks the question “How Concerned Are Voters About Key Issues?” And the results expose the inherent weakness of the Republican Party’s campaign. Beginning with the number one issue of concern: “Corruption in Government,” which is a concern of 88% of the voters. That’s followed by a trio of economic issues – “Inflation and High Prices,” “Gas Prices,” and “Healthcare.” All of which are also in the 80s.

What these issues have in common is that they are all high the list of priorities for Democrats. And conversely, they are matters that Republicans avoid, often referring to them as insignificant, or temporary, or caused by past administrations years ago. In any event, the GOP isn’t taking any responsibility or offering any solutions.

The remainder of the list similarly leans to the advantage of Democrats with issues such as “The War in Iran,” “Artificial Intelligence Technology,” and “Voter Suppression.” In fact, the only three issues in this poll that Trump and the Republicans address are much lower concerns, including “Immigration,” “Border Security,” and “Voter Fraud.” The matter of voter fraud may be what Trump rants about most, but it is dead last on this list of concerns. Perhaps because it is virtually nonexistent.

It’s safe to say that if Trump and the GOP stay on this course, they can expect – and will deserve – to crash and burn on election day. They clearly have no idea what the American people want. Although Trump could still turn it all around. He could rescind his inflationary tariffs, refrain from embracing foreign dictators, stop acting like an oversized infant spewing insults, whining, and lying, and he could end the war in Iran – all in the next three weeks. But don’t hold your breath. Trump isn’t ready for peace…

With Trump as the chief spokesperson for the Republicans in these final days of the campaign, they are chiseling their dismal fate in stone. That said, polls are not votes. And every patriot who cherishes democracy and the principles that made America great still need to turn out and cast their ballots. This is not the time to get complacent or over confident. VOTE BLUE! LFG!

The American people are well aware of Trump’s failures with regard to the economy. Despite his lying about this being the “Golden Age,” people know what their groceries cost, and their gas, and their healthcare, and their housing, etc. Trump’s deceit and uncaring attitude are among the primary reasons that he is floundering at record lows for job approval.

Most experts agree that the dismal economy we are suffering through are due to Trump’s neglect, incompetence, and ego. The war he started against Iran has resulted in higher costs for energy. His ridiculous, unwarranted tariffs account for the rise in virtually everything else. But in Trump’s twisted mind, and the minds of his MAGA-pologists, President Biden – who left office nearly two years ago – is the culprit who caused the fiscal fiasco that has plagued the Trump years.

Political observers have wondered when the timeline would flip from the seemingly endless Biden Effect, to one where Trump actually takes responsibility for his own mistakes and misdeeds. Well, we might be getting close to that now. In an interview on Fox News Wednesday morning, the chairman of Trump’s Council of Economic Advisors, Kevin Hassett, had the following exchange with Fox’s Stuart Varney…

Varney: We got the last Consumer Price Index report before the midterms. In September price is up 0.6%. Moved up a bit, a bit hotter, 3.7% over the last year. Here’s what Kevin Hassett had to say about it this morning.
Hassett: Because the Houties started attacking the Saudi pipeline. And other Iranian proxies from Iraq were attacking refineries and so on. That we had a negative shock to energy again in September. But inside the topline number there’s a lot of good news. [Insert a bunch of Hassett lies] If you look at core inflation, it was basically at the Fed’s target on average over the last three months. But this month was a blip up.

This may be the first time that Hassett has ever answered a question about Trump’s poor performance that didn’t begin with “But Biden…” In fact, the reasons that he does cite are all problems of Trump’s making. It was Trump’s reckless and illegal attack on Iran that led to associated battles in the region with the Houties, Saudi Arabia, and Iraq. And the targeting of oil refineries was a possibility that a competent leader would have prepared for.

What’s more, the Federal Reserve’s target for inflation is 2.0%, way below the 3.7% that Hassett is preposterously calling a blip. At least he didn’t blame Biden again. But has he finally recognized how ridiculous that is? Or did he just forget?

While it’s a welcome relief that Hassett didn’t push to blame Biden again, he still tried to downplay any notion that the economy is troubled. But how could he? Trump would have his head. After all, here is what Trump said about the rise in inflation…

Trump has expressed his love for inflation before. It’s just another indicator of how out of touch he is with ordinary people. And for the record, the video here was cut off right before he explained why he loves inflation. Here is what he said…

“Because as soon as this war is over. You know, I can say it now, something you didn’t know. Did you know we’ve been taking out millions of barrels of oil? Nobody knows it.”

HUH? So Trump loves inflation because he’s going to steal Iran’s oil when the war is over? That war, which he said would only last a few weeks, is now in its eighth month. Does he think that the American people love inflation for that period of time, and who knows how much longer?

Furthermore, everybody knows about Trump’s stated intention to steal Iran’s oil. He has said it repeatedly in public. He brags about it saying that “to the victor goes the spoils.” The only problem is that Trump is losing. And therefore, unfortunately, so are the American people. And they know that Trump and his MAGA Republican enablers are solely to blame.

Trump’s New Propaganda Secretary, Katie Zacharia, Has Already Broken the Law

It didn’t take long for the new White House press secretary to demonstrate that she is closely aligned with the values – or lack thereof – of Donald Trump. When the current occupant of the White House is a convicted felon who shows zero respect for the law, then should we expect any of his flunkies be any different?

Which brings us to Katie Zacharia, Trump’s replacement for his previous official liar, Karoline Leavitt. On Tuesday Zacharia made her premiere performance in the White House press room. And it was something less than adequate by historical standards, but precisely what one would expect from a Trump appointee.

Zacharia’s debut in the White House press room featured her reading extraordinarily poorly from a prepared statement. Her presentation skills were surprisingly bad considering that she has had plenty of public speaking experience as a frequent guest on MAGA media such as Fox News and Newsmax. Yet she still managed to screw up like an amateur, and even violated the law.

In the course of her opening remarks, Zacharia gushed over how thrilled she was to be joining the Trump administration “as we are in the middle of a midterm blitz with energy and excitement never seen before in the history of midterms thanks to president Trump.” So Zacharia is already parroting Trump’s speaking style with hyperbolic phrasing like “never seen before in history.” But more to the point, her remarks on Trump’s “midterm blitz” were brazenly political and a clear violation of the Hatch Act that prohibits partisan political activity by executive branch employees at the White House.

Of course, nothing will come of this since Trump’s Attorney Genuflect, Todd Blanche, is also a crooked Trumpist. Zacharia went on to lie shamelessly, saying that Trump’s recent cult rallies have had “record high” attendance, and that the nation is enjoying a “booming economy.” Both of which are flagrantly false.

Zacharia began her briefing by telling the gathered reporters that she is honored to be working for Trump, and that she has “wanted to work for him a very long time.” She must have forgotten that she already worked briefly in the Trump administration as the primary spokeswoman for the Homeland Security Department. She was also the senior communications advisor at Trump’s failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social.

What’s more, Zacharia noted how honored she was to be working for Trump. Really? He is an alleged pedophile who is all over the Epstein files, that he refuses to release. And a convicted felon. And who has started unprovoked wars. And who cozies up to brutal dictators. And he is a racist, and a misogynist, and a pathological liar, and a malignant narcissist. What part of that makes Zacharia proud?

That introduction was followed by the question and answer period. It lasted a mere 14 minutes and included only three questions that she didn’t actually answer. The questions came entirely from right-wing “reporters” from Fox News, Breitbart, and Daily Mail. So Zacharia seems to be fitting in well with the radical, right-wing, unqualified collection of Trump staffers that includes Pete Hegseth, Robert Kennedy Jr, Markwayne Mullin, and the rest.

However, even in that group Zacharia stands out for her incompetence. Let’s see how long she lasts.

In a segment intended to praise his diligence and stamina, co-hosts Charlie Hurt and Rachel Campos-Duffy (wife of Trump’s Transportation Secretary, Sean Duffy) engaged in the following exalting exchange…

Campos-Duffy: He’s acting like he’s on the ballot. He is campaigning so hard. He has not stopped. And that is something that I think when all of this is said and done, when his term is over, we are gonna miss what a hardworking president looks like because I don’t think we’ll ever see anyone work as hard as that man.

Hurt: But, you know, obviously, the the headwinds are very much going against Republicans just because of the nature of politics. […] And what’s significant about that is what was the Democrat response to it? You would think the Democrat response to that would be to moderate and become and try to get those working class voters back to their side of the aisle, but that’s not what they did. They took off and went crazy

Oh yeah. Trump is a veritable bullet train streaking across the nation. After all, it takes a lot of work to fall asleep in public at virtually every event where he appears. And the results of Trump’s hard work are evident in the gleaming gold filigree plastered all over the White House. Never mind that he has been utterly incompetent with regard to the one-week war he started against Iran that is now in its eighth month. Or the wrecked economy that has Americans paying more for everything from gas, to groceries, to healthcare, to housing, and more.

Trump Sics His ‘Justice’ Dept on the TV Networks He Banned for Defending the First Amendment

Last month Donald Trump declared that he was banning CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from certain presidential press events because their truthful reporting about him hurt his tender feelings. It was a brazenly anti-constitutional assault on the First Amendment and a breach of his oath of office.

Donald Trump and Media - ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, FOX

While Trump is addicted to press coverage that makes him the perpetual center of attention, he cannot tolerate any reporting that is less than worshipful. Following his media ban, Trump doubled down by insisting that it was justified because the “fake” news was a “threat to national security.”

Trump’s ban was immediately challenged in court. The case is still proceeding, but the judge, a Trump appointee, has issued a temporary restraining order to block Trump from executing the ban, which he said was “likely unconstitutional.”

In the meantime, Trump is now directing his “Justice” Department – led by his criminal defense lawyer, Attorney Genuflect Todd Blanche – to investigate the five television news networks that provide pool coverage of the president for agreeing to suspend coverage of Trump’s events until he rescinded the ban. As reported by the New York Times…

“Major TV networks were notified on Friday that the department was examining whether they violated antitrust laws when they suspended pool coverage of President Trump.”

“The Justice Department is investigating whether the major television networks — ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Fox News — violated federal antitrust laws when the group briefly suspended their pooled coverage of President Trump, according to six people with knowledge of the department’s action.

“Officials from the Justice Department contacted networks on Friday and demanded communications and materials related to the White House TV pool, the people said.”

The allegation that these networks engaged in antitrust activity is beyond merely unwarranted government harassment, it has no basis in the law. Antitrust laws are intended to address collusion between corporate entities that seek to stifle competition for their own financial benefit. They have no role in regulating the media to inhibit the free press or political speech. In short, the purpose of antitrust law is to protect consumers from commercial abuse, not politicians from the exercise of First Amendment rights.

Trump’s exploitation of the power of the presidency to attack the media is nothing new. He is by far the most media averse president in American history. He frequently refers to the media in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” And he maligns them as “treasonous sleazebags.” He has filed dozens of civil lawsuits aimed at supressing journalists for honest reporting. And he has viciously attacked the media when it dared to be critical of him.

For instance, Trump recently blasted his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News for not covering his cult rallies live. He directed his FCC boss (Fascist Communications Czar) to look into “fake” Polls. He reported the Meet the Press host to his FCC for “punishment.” And there’s much more where that came from.

Trump has lost virtually every legal attack he has made against the media when the media had the courage to fight back. And he is not likely to get anywhere with this ludicrous antitrust investigation. But that won’t stop him from trying. He truly believes that he is a beloved leader that can do no wrong. And while the vast majority of the American people disagree, his pitifully gullible cult disciples keep reinforcing his delusions.

Trump Praised a Clip From CNN (Fake News?) That He Played at His Rally – Here’s What He Left Out

For several months the polls for the upcoming midterm election have been showing signs of a massive Blue Tsunami that is predicted to flush out the Republican majorities in Congress. And as election day draws closer, the polls have only gotten worse for Donald Trump and his MAGA Party.

As Trump and the GOP candidates he has endorsed flounder, Trump manages to retain his confidence that the only problem with the election is that the public hasn’t seen enough of Trump. Consequently, he has pledged to abandon his presidential duties and devote himself to rescuing his party. Although many of them are asking him not to bother. So he has narrowed his itinerary to mostly solid red states.

On Friday Trump took his red eye rally express to Syracuse, New York. And while there he thought it would be a good idea to play a deceitfully edited video of something he saw on CNN. Not only was this video from a network that he despises, but it was on a subject that he insists is totally corrupt: Polling. Nevertheless, Trump introduced the clip saying that…

“I saw a chart, because CNN is very unfriendly territory, they’re fake news, but this time I believe them 100%. Because they did a chart, and I respect them for putting it up, but they did a couple of very important charts.”

Whereupon Trump played the video of CNN’s data analyst, Harry Enten, saying that…

“MAGA GOP on Trump in the 2024 election versus Kamala Harris he got 99% of the MAGA GOP vote. But surprisingly. I might have thought it would be 100%. But it was 99%. Compare that to his approval rating now with the MAGA GOP. It’s 98%. That is, there has been no real decline in MAGA support.”

Enten concluded that Trump’s support among the MAGA GOP is “really holding up strong.” And why not? IT’S A CULT! However, what Trump didn’t play for his cult rally devotees was the remainder of the CNN segment where Enten revealed that only 50-60% of Republicans identify as MAGA. Which means that, since only 28% of U.S. adults identify directly as Republicans, MAGA is only about 14-17% of the electorate.

Enten went on to note what he called a “troubling sign for Republicans,” that Trump’s approval among all Republicans declined by 14 points (from 94% to 80%) since 2024. And those Republicans who strongly approved of Trump declined by 24 points (from 71% to 47%, less than half) since the beginning of 2025.

It is so monumentally hypocritical and dishonest for Trump to brag about CNN’s reporting, when he only shows a small piece of it. The rest of the segment showed how dismal Trump’s standing is with the Republican Party and the American people. He left all of that out. And he calls CNN fake news?

It’s kind of funny that Trump is embracing something that he saw on CNN, a network that he relentlessly accuses of being treasonous Even worse, it’s one of the networks that he has actually banned from covering him. But now, because he – or more likely someone on his staff (Natalie Harp?) – was able to cherry-pick a few seconds that he thinks makes him look good, he “believes them 100%.”

Trump can do this because he knows that none of his gullible cult disciples will ever see the parts of the video that he cut out. They don’t watch CNN. Furthermore, he knows that his MAGA-tists are going to fawn over whatever he says. And it’s because of them that he thinks he is universally beloved, even though they are a tiny minority. So he runs around the country thinking that his presence will produce a nationwide Republican victory.

Trump may be sorely disappointed when the actual election results come in. And when they do, he will become the lamest of ducks. Although he will still just say the election was rigged. Because he thinks he’s infallible and more popular than Jesus.

Trump’s Next Propaganda Secretary, Katie Zacharia, Has All the Non-Qualifications He Craves

Several weeks ago Donald Trump lost his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who resigned to spend more time with Fox News, where she now works. Her departure left a gaping sinkhole in his administration just as he was facing the midterm elections and the Blue Tsunami that is predicted to flush out many Republicans from Congress and leave Democrats with majorities in both chambers.

Trump Lies

Leavitt was and is an exemplary disseminator of the same sort of lies and insults for which her boss is infamous. Speculation about her replacement ran the gamut from Trump-fluffers like Ainsley Earhardt of Fox News to Natalie Harp, Trump’s travel companion and security blanket.

Well, now that question may have been answered. There is news from the White House that Trump has offered the press secretary job to Katie Zacharia, an attorney, and legal and political analyst for MAGA media networks, including Fox News, and Newsmax. She also briefly served as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

Trump plucked her out of his Trump Media and Technology Group, where she has been employed as the senior communications advisor to his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. So she has had plenty of on the job training for dishonesty, division, and diversion.

Katie Zacharia has been chosen as the new White House Press Secretary.

With that resume, Zacharia meets all of the core criteria that Trump has for his propaganda spokesmodel. She has done time at Fox News. She is a bleached blond. She has experience shamelessly lying with a straight face. She is comfortable making personal attacks. She couldn’t care less about the law or the Constitution. And she is a devoted MAGA cultist who believes in Trump’s messianic infallibility.

Zacharia will need all of those skills to prop up Trump who is currently floundering at record lows of approval for the job he’s doing as president, as well as for his handling of nearly every major issue facing the nation, including the war in Iran, the wrecked economy, immigration, the threats to democracy, and corruption by the president, his family, and his cronies.

Given these challenges, Zacharia will have her work cut out for her if she accepts the job. She will be met with skepticism from journalists and Democrats who are all too familiar with Trump’s predilection for lying and won’t sit still for Trump’s criminal shenanigans. There will be hearings and lawsuits and eventually indictments. And if she isn’t careful, she will be among the indicted.
