Crybaby Trump Posts a Rambling Rant Begging People to Stop Talking About Jeffrey Epstein

On Friday morning the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released its monthly report on jobs for August 2025. The numbers were a painfully low 22,000, missing economist’s predictions of 75,000. However, they were consistent with the poor performance that Donald Trump has delivered for each of the past seven months since his reoccupation of the White House.

Donald Trump, Twitter

This report was prepared after Trump fired the head of the BLS last month because he didn’t like the terrible results reported then. It’s what Trump does whenever he’s not satisfied that government agencies are lavishing sufficient praise on him that he doesn’t deserve.

FOR INSTANCE: Wannabe Dictator Trump Orders a New Census to Rig Upcoming Elections, Violating the Constitution

Trump generally responds to this sort of news with wildly incoherent harangues posted to his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. On this occasion, however, he posted nothing about the report at all. What he did post was a tediously long screed about the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein scandal.

So Trump was so worried about the potential harm from the abysmal jobs report that he poured more fuel on the Epstein fire that he has been trying desperately to extinguish for several weeks. What follows are a few select excerpts with annotations.

“[Democrats] did nothing about Jeffrey Epstein while he was alive except befriend him, socialize with him, travel to his Island, and take his money!”
Those are, of course, all things done by Republicans and politically unaffiliated wealthy men. Most notably, Donald Trump himself. Also, many Democrats were calling the release of the Epstein files since way back when he died in prison.

“[Democrats], out of nowhere, are seeming to show such love and heartfelt concern for his victims.”
Which even now, Trump and the GOP are incapable of. To the contrary, he has been disparaging the victims as liars and perpetrators of a hoax.

“Where were they during his very public trials?”
Trump is hallucinating again. Epstein never stood for trial. He agreed to a controversial plea bargain on state charges in 2008 (negotiated with Trump’s current Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and his former Labor Secretary, Alex Acosta). Then he died before his federal trial on sex trafficking on Trump’s watch in 2019.

“The now dying…Epstein case was only brought back to life by the Radical Left Democrats.”
The case was revived by Trump’s reelection and his appointment of Bondi and Kash Patel (FBI Director). Trump, Bondi, and Patel were all loud advocates for releasing all of the Epstein files during the 2024 campaign. But they all abandoned that position after taking office. That led to mostly Trump supporters, not Democrats, demanding that they keep their campaign promises.

“[T]he DOJ gave thousands of pages of documents in full compliance with a very comprehensive and exacting Subpoena from Congress! […] The Department of Justice has done its job, they have given everything requested of them.”
Trump and his Justice Department have twice released thousands of pages of documents that were already public. And even those amount to a tiny percentage (about 3%) of the total, which also includes videos. It is a far cry from “everything requested.”

“This is merely another Democrat HOAX, just like Russia, Russia, Russia, and all of the others, in order to deflect and distract from the great success of a Republican President.”
Tell that to the victims. Oh, wait. He did. And as for his “great success,” he’s proven that with the latest jobs report, along with his failure to lower the cost of living, end the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, or fulfill any of his other promises, except for harassing immigrants and persecuting his political foes.

“It’s time to end the Democrat Epstein Hoax.”
This can be done by Trump simply directing the DoJ to release all of the Epstein files, that he still refuses to do. What is he so afraid of? And his repetitious use of the “hoax” label for everything that he disputes has become cartoonishly comical.

So in his attempt to deflect from how badly he has botched his duty to create jobs for the American people, he has managed to steer attention to Epstein, the subject that he was previously working so hard to deflect from. Now both of these fiascos are uppermost on the minds of the American public. Nice Work, Donnie.

Uncaring Ignorance About Jobs and Medicaid is a Sickening Requirement to Be in Trump’s Cabinet

The lasting legacy of Donald Trump is going to be filled with examples of his craving to reign as an anti-democratic autocrat, and his insatiable thirst for enriching himself with sleazy scams. He will be forever remembered as the Grifter-in-Chief who sought the worshipful adoration of his small but noisy cabal of cult followers.

Donald Trump

In addition to his acute case of malignant narcissism, Trump will also go down in history as the American “leader” who cherished the deliberate avoidance of intellect, declaring literally that he “loves the poorly educated.” Of course he does. Who else would vote for him? His tenure is a testament to infantile turpitude and the deranged, devolutionary dumbing down of academics in pursuit of a submissive society.

SEE THIS: WHO’S DERANGED? Trump on Biden Clones, Transgender Mice, Autopens, and His Own Mental Anguish

In a timely demonstration of Trump’s aversion to education, his Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins held a press conference to provide affirmation of Trump’s descent into Idiocracy. Responding to inquiries about how the United States will handle the consequences of Trump’s mass deportation agenda, and his “Big Ugly Bill” that slashes the budget for Medicaid, Rollins said that…

“There will be no amnesty. The mass deportations continue, but in a strategic way. And we move the workforce toward automation and 100% American participation, which with 34 million able-bodied adults on Medicaid we should be able to do fairly quickly.”

Brooke Rollins on farm laborers: "There will be no amnesty. The mass deportations continue, but in a strategic way. And we move the workforce toward automation and 100% American participation, which with 34 million able-bodied on Medicaid we should be able to do fairly quickly."

Aaron Rupar (@atrupar.com) 2025-07-08T14:06:46.629Z

There’s a lot of witlessness to unpack in that brief commentary. Let’s begin with Rollins’ reference to continuing mass deportations in a “strategic way.” By which she means enforcing it only in Democratic cities and states. She then moved on to her intention to replace farm laborers with automation. Although she doesn’t explain how she would automate the harvesting of agricultural crops, or why it has never been done before. Neither does she explain how the labor force would be “100% American” in this new type of harvesting that is done by machines.

Perhaps the most preposterous part of Rollins’ remarks was what she had to say about Medicaid. She believes that there are “34 million able-bodied adults” who can be immediately recruited to staff the farms of the nation. She is referring to the number of people currently on Medicaid who are classified as “able-bodied.”

What Rollins doesn’t seen to understand is that many able-bodied people receive Medicaid who are not available to work. According to an analysis by the Brookings Institute, Medicaid recipients who would be described as “able-bodied” are mostly those who are caregivers to dependent children, those with disabling mental health conditions, full time students, and those already working 80+ hours per month.

Disenrolling those recipients from Medicaid would result in severe hardships for them and their families, and would save very little money. Does the Trump administration really want the parents of minor children, and those who are caregivers to seniors or other disabled family members, and those with mental health disabilities, to be forced to relocate to farming communities and harvest fruits and vegetables?

Furthermore, the agricultural work that Rollins thinks will be undertaken by those she would strip of Medicaid coverage generally does not provide health insurance to their employees. Consequently, any medical treatment required would not be be paid for, resulting in people not getting necessary care. It would also result in the hospitals providing such care incurring costs that they could not bear and would subsequently shut down, denying care to everyone else that used their services.

The bottom line is that Rollins and Trump are advocating an inhumane policy that would cause profound harm, while saving very little federal funds. The people that the Trump regime is targeting are not freeloaders trying to sponge of the government. They are not slackers playing video games in their mom’s basement. They are honest Americans struggling to make ends meet and to keep themselves and their families healthy.

For some reason, the Trump Republicans are offended by the lesser advantaged of us and thinks that they should be punished and made to suffer more, in order to afford tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy. Very Christian of them, isn’t it?

TACO Trump Chickens Out on His Mass Deportation Plans When it Affects Him and His Wealthy Pals

The unconstitutional, anti-American, and profoundly cruel immigration policies of Donald Trump and his fascist regime have proven to be a complete catastrophe. They do not further any goal of advancing the law, the safety, or the economic welfare of the nation or its residents.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump, Immigrant, Child

The only things that Trump’s totalitarian tactics accomplish are destabilizing communities, frightening families, bankrupting businesses, instilling distrust in authorities, and causing irreparable harm to individuals who don’t warrant such harsh, inhumane treatment. California’s Governor Gavin Newsom detailed some of this in a speech earlier this week.

SEE THIS: California Gov. Gavin Newsom Spells Out the Imminent Threat that Trump Represents, and the Solution

Many politicians, economists, labor experts, and diplomats, have alerted Trump and his cronies to the obvious damage that his villainous impropriety causes. But typical of Trump, he doesn’t care until there is some impact on him or someone whose interests he is serving. Which is apparently what triggered Trump’s comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, on Thursday morning. He wrote that

“Our great Farmers and people in the Hotel and Leisure business have been stating that our very aggressive policy on immigration is taking very good, long time workers away from them, with those jobs being almost impossible to replace. In many cases the Criminals allowed into our Country by the VERY Stupid Biden Open Borders Policy are applying for those jobs. This is not good. We must protect our Farmers, but get the CRIMINALS OUT OF THE USA. Changes are coming!”

There’s a lot of steaming bullpucky in that paragraph. For instance, it contains the first ever acknowledgement by Trump that some of the undocumented migrants in this country are “very good workers” who would be “impossible to replace” However, the only reason that Trump expresses any interest in them is because his wealthy pals in agribusiness have been whining about the adverse economic effects of his repugnant mass deportation schemes. And he adds “the Hotel and Leisure business,” because that’s Trump’s business.

So suddenly something has to be done about it to keep Trump and his friends from suffering financially. It’s emblematic of the TACO label that has recently been attached to him: “Trump Always Chickens Out!” In this case he folded at the behest of his billionaire buddies. Trump doesn’t explain why the same thing isn’t true for workers in restaurants, or factories, or construction, or healthcare, or landscaping, or even to students.

Trump went on to say that if farm workers are deported they will be replaced by criminals. He has absolutely zero evidence of that happening anywhere, but pathological liars don’t need evidence. And it seems unlikely that criminals have aspirations to move to rural areas where they can do hard labor in the fields. This is just further proof that Trump’s brain is severely dysfunctional. And he confirmed that diagnosis in an exchange with Fox News correspondent, Peter Doocy, later the same day…

Doocy: What made you change your mind about targeting in California, farmers and people in the hotels and leisure business?
Trump: Well, we’re not targeting. In fact, if you look today I put out a statement about farmers. Our farmers are being hurt badly by – you know they have very good workers. They’ve worked for them for twenty years. They’re not citizens, but they’ve turned out to be great. We’re going to have to do something about that. We can’t take farmers and take all their people and send them back because they don’t have maybe what they’re supposed to have.

Q: “What made you change your mind about targeting in California, farmers and people in the hotels and leisure business?”Trump: “Our farmers are being hurt badly. They have very good workers…They’re not citizens, but they’ve turned out to be great. We’re going to have to do something about that.”

The Bulwark (@thebulwark.com) 2025-06-12T18:11:56.443Z

Notice that Trump misunderstood the question, failing to grasp that Doocy was asking about the change in targeting. But he also failed to answer the question which inquired as to why he changed his mind. Does he even know that he did change his mind?

What’s more, while Trump conceded that there is a problem, he neglected to suggest anything that resembled a solution. But in his defense, that’s only because he’s too cognitively deficient to have solutions to any problem. All he has is hostility and vengeance and greed and an aberrant lust for power.

UPDATE: On Thursday evening Trump posted a new comment to follow up his Thursday morning comment above. This one said that…

“The Biden Administration and Governor Newscum flooded America with 21 Million Illegal Aliens, destroying Schools, Hospitals and Communities, and consuming untold Billions of Dollars in Free Welfare. All of them have to go home.”

Is this what he meant by “Changes are coming”? So Trump has returned to his original stance where all migrants must be expelled. Is this what he meant by “Changes are coming”? And is he abandoning his concern for the farmers and hoteliers who just yesterday he was worried would be adversely impacted? Or is his hate and bigotry stronger than his servility to the rich and his greed?

Trump’s Rancid Labor Day Message is a Typically Angry Political Rant that is Focused on Himself

Holidays in America are generally occasions when people can find harmony and common purpose in tribute to whatever particular event the day is commemorating. There is a fulfilling pride and/or joy that is shared regardless of political or spiritual affiliation. We have usually found a way to come together in observance of a greater good.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Newspapers, Baby, Hate

Sadly, some of that camaraderie has been lost in the wake of Donald Trump’s doctrine of division and discord. From the start of his political endeavors he has sought to drive people apart by inflaming differences in race and class and any other ideological factor he could think of to exploit. Case in point, Trump’s heartwarming tidings to his cult disciples last Easter…

SEE THIS: Trump Sends His Easter Greetings to ‘Those Many People that I Completely and Totally Despise’

Anyone who expected Trump to be any different on this Labor Day has not been paying attention. They are oblivious to his trademarked emotional brand of revenge and retribution. It’s what drove him to post the following comment on his pitifully failing website, Truth Social

“Happy Labor Day to all of our American Workers who represent the Shining Example of Hard Work and Ingenuity. Under Comrade Kamala Harris, all Americans are suffering during this Holiday weekend – High Gas Prices, Transportation Costs are up, and Grocery Prices are through the roof. We can’t keep living under this weak and failed ‘Leadership’.….”

Notice that Trump’s message is a purely political outpouring of his hostility and his dystopian view of where America stands today. He is engaging in blatant fear mongering to incite the inbred rage of his glassy-eyed followers. And it contains only a token reference to the workers for whom this day is reserved for appreciation.

But Trump wasn’t finished. He posted a second comment that was rife with lies about the benefits for workers that he said he achieved during his occupation of the White House. The truth, however, is that Trump’s administration was the first in modern times to end with fewer people working than when it started. Many plants and factories closed or moved off-shore. He opposes raising the minimum wage – or having a minimum wage, period. He implemented legislative and regulatory assaults on union members and their rights to organize against the greedy corporate barons who Trump embraces as his friends.

For contrast, take look at the message delivered by Vice-President Kamala Harris. And notice that it is focused on the welfare of workers, their contribution to the nation, and her devotion to their interests.

Harris has fought for workers for her whole career in public service, as a prosecutor, a senator, and in the White House. She is committed to advancing worker rights via unions and the practice of collective bargaining. And she respects Labor Day as a tribute to the people who really drive the economy and create jobs. And if you still wonder which side Trump is on, here he is telling you in his own words…

Fox News (And Trump) Credit Trump For Jobs Created During Obama’s Term

Friday morning the jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics was released for the month of January. It showed a healthy increase of 227,000 persons employed, which was significantly more than was projected. These numbers extend Obama’s job creation to a record 76 consecutive months of growth.

So leave it to Fox News to lavish praise on Donald Trump for what they call the “first jobs report under Pres Trump.” Never mind that Trump wasn’t sworn in until January 20, and this report concludes with data as of January 12. That didn’t stop Fox from pasting a graphic over the video that proclaimed “More Winning.”

Trump Fox News

In a meeting with corporate CEOs (video below), Trump addressed the jobs report saying:

“A couple of things happened this morning. 227,000 jobs. Great spirit in the country right now, so we’re very happy about that. I think that it’s going to continue, big league. We’re bringing back jobs.”

Notice that he referred to “we” in a blatant attempt to grab credit for employment numbers that he had nothing to do with. Even if he deserved credit for some of the jobs he claims to have saved at companies like Carrier, it amounts to a few hundred at best. During the Obama administration there were eleven million jobs created.

What’s more, Trump has previously dismissed these jobs reports as phony and manipulated to make Obama look good. He disputed the data and offered his own “alternative facts” for which he refused to provide documentation. His wildly exaggerated estimates earned him a “Pants-On-Fire” designation for lying. He previously characterized the jobs statistics as:

“…the biggest joke there is in this country. […] The unemployment rate is probably 20 percent. But I will tell you, you have some great economists that will tell you, it’s a 30, 32. And the highest I’ve heard so far is 42 percent.”

The same people in the same department produced this new report. But since it was released two weeks after he moved into the White House it has renewed credibility. In reality, it merely enables him, and Fox News, to steal credit that he doesn’t deserve. That’s something he does on a regular basis. So expect more of that sort of dishonest self-glorification for as long as he’s president. And expect Fox News to provide the propaganda to go along with it.

Donald Trump: Bringing Back Jobs – And The Foreigners To Do Them

The Republican’s favorite jingoistic blowhard, Donald Trump, has made immigration the centerpiece of his alleged presidential campaign. Not that he’s proposed any coherent policies or solutions. That would only distract from his hate-speech and fear mongering. No, The Donald’s stunted ability to comprehend complex issues is limited to demonizing his perceived enemies and building walls. And he has the audacity to believe that after insulting Mexican immigrants as criminals and rapists that American Latinos will still vote for him.

Donald Trump

Among the many things that Trump is convinced he can do better than any other mortal is creating jobs. Never mind the fact that it has always been a lie that the wealthy are job creators (Here is an infographic showing who the Real Job Creators are). And set aside that Trump’s businesses have long outsourced American jobs to China and elsewhere. He nevertheless said in his presidential campaign announcement speech that “I will be the greatest jobs president that God ever created.” This is a meaningless boast, and not just because he doesn’t have any respect for God.

Reuters is reporting that Trump’s businesses “have sought to import at least 1,100 foreign workers on temporary visas since 2000, according to U.S. Department of Labor data.” It is notable that these are not the sort of hard-labor jobs in agriculture or construction for which it is sometimes difficult to recruit. The jobs Trump was seeking to fill were for maids, cooks, wait staff, and even golf-course superintendents, and hotel and banquet managers. These are sought-after positions in luxury resorts. They are also positions for which the employer must certify that “they tried and failed to hire Americans.”

So Trump expects people to believe that he was unable to find Americans to fill these jobs. Yet he still expects people to believe that he will be “the greatest jobs president that God ever created.” And perhaps he will, just not for American workers. It’s likely he is seeking people that he can exploit by paying less and treating badly. What’s more, the foreign workers he is employing are the very same ones that he is disparaging as rapists and promising to deport en masse. Reuters notes that…

“The temporary work visa program through which Trump’s companies have sought the greatest numbers of workers, H-2B, brings in mostly workers from Mexico. Mexicans made up more than 80 percent of the 104,993 admissions to the United States on H-2B visas in 2013. The Trump companies have sought at least 850 H-2B visa workers.”

It will be interesting to see if Trump’s stubbornly stupid supporters will hold him accountable for this slap in the face to American labor. Will they make him pay for his outrageous hypocrisy? Judging from the past few weeks, maybe not. If they weren’t offended by his racism, or his disrespect for POW’s, or his rebuke of God, then perhaps they aren’t bothered by hurting the American work force (and lying about it) either. After all, if you’re dumb enough to support Trump in the first place, you’re probably too stupid to figure out when you’re being screwed.

Hillary Clinton Smeared By Fox News For Correctly Analyzing Trickle-Down Economics

During the 2012 presidential campaign President Obama gave a speech wherein he paid tribute to the American people who collectively created an environment for business to prosper. That environment included paying for the roads, bridges, water and electricity facilities, and other infrastructure necessities without which the economy would whither.

However, one sentence fragment was lifted out of context from that speech by Mitt Romney’s campaign, and his friendly media cohorts, and used to unfairly clobber the President. That sound bite, you may recall, was when Obama reminded the proprietor class that “You didn’t build that,” meaning that every business has benefited from the investments made by our society and government.

Well, here we go again. Yesterday on Fox News the curvy-couch potatoes of Fox & Friends hosted a segment that focused solely on a sentence fragment that was part of a speech by Hillary Clinton.

Fox News Trickle Down

Be Sure To “LIKE” News Corpse On Facebook

Clinton was speaking at a rally in support of Massachusetts gubernatorial candidate Martha Coakley. The comment in its sliced-up form was “Don’t let anybody tell you, that, you know, it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs.” In essence it is barely different than Obama’s comment two years ago. But it is just as deceitfully excised from its original context. Here is what Clinton actually said:

“Don’t let anybody tell you that raising the minimum wage will kill jobs. They always say that. I’ve been through this. My husband gave working families a raise in the 1990s. I voted to raise the minimum wage and guess what? Millions of jobs were created or paid better and more families were more secure. That’s what we want to see here, and that’s what we want to see across the country.

“And don’t let anybody tell you, that, you know, it’s corporations and businesses that create jobs. You know, that old theory, trickle-down economics. That has been tried. That has failed. That has failed rather spectacularly.

“One of the things my husband says, when people say, what did you bring to Washington? He says, well I brought arithmetic. And part of it was he demonstrated why trickle down should be consigned to the trash bin of history. More tax cuts for the top and for companies that ship jobs over seas while taxpayers and voters are stuck paying the freight just doesn’t add up.”

It’s plain as day that Clinton was referring to the discredited sham known as trickle-down economics. She also hammered Republicans for opposing a pay raise for America’s workers while simultaneously pushing for a tax cut for America’s wealthy. That is exactly the reverse of what is needed to stimulate the economy. When the middle class has more money in their pockets they spend it, increasing profits for businesses and creating the demand that spurs employers to hire. Conversely, when the rich get more money it is typically directed to Wall Street or retirement accounts which have no productive impact on job growth.

Particularly disturbing were the comments by Fox’s business maven, Maria Bartiromo. For someone who should know better, she offered an ignorant appraisal of how the job market works. She accused Clinton of calling business evil, which never happened, and turned the whole debate into a political drama saying…

“Everybody knows that businesses create jobs. I mean, this is not brain surgery. We know that businesses, people that run business actually create the jobs. And I think Hillary knows that as well. […] Here we are a week away from the midterms, she’s gearing up for 2016, she’s firing up the base.”

Apparently Bartiromo knows even less about economics than she does about brain surgery. Businesses do not create jobs. They create products and services. But there are no jobs until there is consumer demand. That means people have to want the products and have the funds to pay for them. If a company has such demand for their product they will hire new employees. If there is no demand they will not hire anyone, no matter how many tax breaks they get.

[For a deeper look into who the “Real Job Creators” are, see this article and infographic]

The big fallacy about business is that it focused on creating jobs. But that isn’t true and the proof is that no business sits around trying to figure out ways to increase its expenditures on staff. To the contrary, they spend a great deal of time trying to find staff they can cut. Since their mission is to increase profits, their goal is to reduce expenses, and personnel are generally first on the list of cost-cutting measures. That’s one of the reasons that businesses are so drawn to outsourcing to foreign labor.

So businesses, rather than being job creators, are more often job destroyers, trying to operate with the fewest number of employees possible. And when Clinton says not to let anyone tell you that corporations and businesses that create jobs, she is spot on. It is, and has always been, consumers that create the demand that creates jobs. Trickle-down economics was a fat-cat scam from its inception. Fox News and other right-wing deceivers will perpetually mislead their ill-informed flock, but the truth is available for those clear-eyed enough to want to see it (which means no Fox News viewers or Tea Partiers).

Shameless self-promotion…

Fox News Nitwits: Cheap Student Loans Keep People Out Of The Labor Market

If there is one thing that is not in short supply at Fox News, it’s raving, rampant, drooling stupidity. Whether expressed by their denial of science, their embrace of religious mythology, or their gullible acceptance of ludicrous conspiracy theories, Fox slathers on the dumb in thick layers. But today was one of those occasions that merit special recognition.

On Fox & Friends Sunday (video below), co-host Tucker Carlson questioned right-wing economist Peter Morici about the unemployment rate and how it is all President Obama’s fault that it isn’t lower (even though it has declined 25% since the highs produced by the Bush recession). Carlson and Morici agreed that one of the major contributing factors to the “crisis” is that Obama has artificially kept student loan rates down in a scheme to push the unemployment rate lower.

Morici: The president has been buying lower unemployment rates by essentially providing very cheap student loans and keeping people out of the labor market.
Carlson: Exactly. So, cheap student loans keep people out of the labor market. This is a dangerous spiral.

Indeed. This devious plot to help young people get an education must stop. We need to send them out into a difficult job market at the earliest opportunity so that employers can exploit their ignorance and inexperience with long hours, low wages, and few benefits. Why even bother with paying their way through high school? The last thing America needs is well-informed citizens with advanced degrees. We can get them from India at a significant discount. And if everyone were educated, who the hell would be left to watch Fox News? Other than, of course, the fine residents of southern red states:

Red State Education
Be Sure To “LIKE” News Corpse On Facebook

Ending this socialist abomination of financial assistance for students would give a huge boost to the economy. Corporations would become more profitable due to sharply reduced payroll expenses. Of course, they would also be hard pressed to find skilled workers, but they are already solving that problem by sending those jobs to China. This provides a related foreign policy benefit by forcing the Chinese to waste their money on educating their citizens.

There are other lessons in this for the bureaucrats in Washington. For instance, child labor laws are another major obstacle that keeps young people out of the labor market. And we have more than two million prisoners who could be put to work. And why should people who enlist in the military be taken off of the employment rolls? And what about all of those lazy senior citizens who so conveniently “retire,” so that they are no longer counted in the unemployment statistics (we’re on to you Obama)? For that matter, we could significantly reduce our Medicare and Social Security burden by making loafing seniors get off their butts or pay for their own heart bypass surgery and chemotherapy. For those unable to do so, America saves a fortune on health care when they die. We’d save billions on their frivolous prescription meds alone.

Thank goodness for Fox News who are the only media outlet with the courage to call out kids who are ripping off the nation by seeking to get an education. But then, Fox has long been at the forefront of the education hoax. They regularly disparage institutions of higher learning as bastions of liberal elitism. They campaign for defunding and/or privatization of public schools. They advocate home schooling as an alternative to trained and competent instruction. They oppose common sense programs to improve the efficiency of curriculum standards, even going to the extreme of portraying them as conspiracies to indoctrinate our children.

Clearly, Fox News has performed heroically in the battle against knowledge. And these remarks by privileged upper-cruster Tucker Carlson (whose parents were wealthy enough to pay for his education like the Founders intended) are further evidence of Fox’s commitment to preserving education for the rich and menial servitude for everyone else.

Fox News Sucker Punches American Workers Every Day

The InterTubes are abuzz with a piddling story about a douchebag from Breitbart/Fox News who got what looks like a popped pimple on his forehead after confronting union protesters in Michigan.

Steven CrowderSteven Crowder, is a self-described comedian (though there is no evidence to document that) who is trying to make a name for himself by emulating faux-journalist James O’Keefe. That mission brought him to Lansing, Michigan yesterday where he somehow managed to rile up an otherwise peaceful gathering of 13,000 union protesters. One has to wonder why the only report of hostility just happened to be where Crowder was stationed with his video team.

The video Crowder later posted on line was, in the style of O’Keefe, heavily edited. The portion that showed an alleged union member swinging at Crowder was cut to exclude most of the activity prior to the altercation. However, in a longer clip that was shown on Hannity (below), it could be seen clearly that just prior to the swingfest, the union member was on the ground. There is no explanation for how he got there, such as the possibility that he had been assaulted first by Crowder and was retaliating. Crowder has repeatedly lied in saying that he was sucker-punched, because the video also clearly shows that he was facing the union member at the time the punches were thrown. And it appears that the union member was reacting with the sort of anger that someone who had just been assaulted might be feeling. Also, Crowder rushed the union member after the first punch, displaying his size advantage, but then pulled back as if he just remembered that the cameras were rolling and he had forgotten momentarily his goal of portraying the protesters as violent.

For someone who was allegedly brutalized by fiendish thugs, Crowder seemed rather giddy in his subsequent appearances on Fox News (twice in less than 24 hours). He confessed to Sean Hannity that he intentionally sought to provoke the protesters, saying with a smarmy smile…

“I went out here to prove the left for who they truly are. Certainly, these union thugs. And I’ve achieved that.”

On Fox & Friends Crowder issued a contrived macho challenge to the union member to engage in a Mixed Martial Arts match – an absurd suggestion considering that he is bigger and younger than his opponent, and trained in MMA. Crowder is scheduled for another Fox stint with Neil Cavuto tonight.

The entire demeanor of Crowder in his post-bout media tour is one of someone proud of having successfully carried out a preconceived mission to fabricate bad publicity for the workers seeking to defend their rights. This is not a game to them. They have just been sucker punched themselves by a right-wing state regime that is assaulting their jobs, their livelihoods, and their families. The Michigan governor and legislators rammed this law through without notification or public debate.

To make matters worse, Fox News, and others in the conservative mediasphere, have thrown their own sucker punches at America’s working families by promoting right-to-work (for less) laws that have been proven to result in lower wages, worse working conditions, and have never been shown to create additional jobs. Nevertheless, Fox has characterized the Michigan law as a “victory for capitalism.” They have long sought to portray union members as thugs, rather than as the families they are, struggling to support themselves in a society that permits corporations to make record profits, lavish million dollar bonuses on executives, and then whine that they have no money to fairly compensate their working-class employees.

This sort of misrepresentation and vilification of average Americans goes on daily in the right-wing press. It is emotional abuse that has to pile up over time and create anxiety and frustration. While violence is never an appropriate response to a political dispute, these occurrences have to be evaluated in the broader context of the environment that surrounds them. And when people are being attacked by their so-called representatives, and their lives are being upended by out-of-touch elitists, it is hard not to expect that tempers will flare.

That may have occurred yesterday in Lansing. Or it may be that an overzealous media whore initiated the entire affair with his own provocative behavior and hostility. Time may shed more light on the facts, but it is undeniable that working Americans are not going to give in to the corrupt bosses in executive suites and statehouses. Nor should they. Working people are the backbone of our nation and they deserve better than to be exploited by self-serving politicians and third-rate clowns acting as outside agitators.

National Papa John’s Depreciation Day – Or How To Buy Health Care For 14 Cents

Well, here’s a bad idea, if there ever was one. “National Papa John’s Appreciation Day.” This is brought to you by the folks who supported Chick-Fil-A’s bigotry with an assist from Fox News.

Let’s say there is a nationwide pizza franchise that earns $1.2 billion annually, and whose owner is worth about $350 million. And this cheesy enterprise decides that providing health care for the employees who are central to its success is just too expensive, despite the fact that it would produce healthier, more productive employees and release the federal government and all other insured Americans from the burden of picking up the tab. Never mind that the company gives away millions of pizzas in promotions with the NFL, or that the total additional cost of the health care is only about $0.14 per pizza, or that the owner’s projections are that the program will only cost about $5-8 million a year (less than 1/2 of 1% of earnings)

Then let’s say that this pizza vendor announces that, rather than reducing his profit margins fractionally, or finding other ways to cut costs (like the exorbitant executive salaries), he’s planning to layoff already struggling, low-income employees or reduce their hours so that they don’t qualify for health care – not to mention making it harder for them to buy groceries or pay rent.

Who in their right mind would promote a campaign to support this fiendish and greedy scheme? Fox News of course. Today they are featuring two stories that directly benefit a social media effort to “Stand With Papa John.” The plan is to get people who are in favor of exacerbating the hardships of workers and their families to patronize the pizza parlor on November 16. No doubt they’ll find a few tasteless schmucks who will participate. But screwing your employees to avoid offering them health care over just 14 cents is nobody’s idea of fatherly.

Papa John - Deadbeat Dad

John Schnatter has officially became America’s Deadbeat Dad. And Fox News is his enabler. Just like the Chick-Fil-A affair earlier this year, it is so disappointing to see people rallying around businesses that make hatred and greed the prime ingredient in their product. That doesn’t seem like the sort of thing decent people would turn into a cause celebre. And since that isn’t a particularly good idea, here’s a better one: Print out copies of the “coupon” above and take them to a Papa John’s on Appreciation Day. Leave a few around for other customers so they know exactly how immoral the owner of this pizzeria is.
