Super Intelligence? Trump Wants to Rename Artificial Intelligence To Make it More Smarter

The Renamer-in-Chief, Donald Trump, is at it again. Apparently he wasn’t satisfied with trying to add his name to the Kennedy Center, or the Institute of Peace, or renaming the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario. Nope, the egomaniac that occupies the White House has new designs on something else that he has no authority to mess with.

Trump Baby on Cash Pile

Trump delivered a speech on Tuesday to the General Assembly of the United Nations, an institution that he regularly disparages and threatens to quit. The speech was a hodgepodge of the tedious complaints that he spews in every speech he gives, including how he’s supposedly winning in Iran, transgender-phobia, attacking Venezuela or Cuba or Greenland, insulting “dumocrats,” allegedly ending 8 wars, and of course, raging about the fake news.

A new topic that has risen to the top of Trump’s playlist is Artificial Intelligence. His approach, however, is uniquely Trumpian. In fact, it is diametrically opposed to what the American people want. He recently launched what he calls the AI Force, which is a new branch of government whose purpose is to protect and defend the growth of AI, rather than the welfare of the country or its people. And in his narcissistic delusion, he regards himself as the only guardrails needed to rein in any potential harm.

During his UN address Trump raised the issue of AI to announce that he is adding it to the list of things he wants to rename. His chosen name for it is “Super Intelligence.” He elaborated saying in his infamously incoherent style that…

“Hereinafter officially called ‘Super Intelligence,’ changing the name and that the use of the word artificial makes intelligence fake. It makes it sound fake, and it is not fake. It’s actually amazing. But we have to be careful, In fact, In fact, it is exactly the opposite of what it purports.

“From this point forward, all of United States’ documents, and hopefully the world’s, will be changed to use the much more accurate term ‘super,’ as opposed to ‘artificial.’ So it’s ‘Super Intelligence.’ In other words, welcome to the new world of ‘Super intelligence’ — SI. Let’s see if that goes. It sounds much better. It is much better and it’s much more accurate. Let’s see if I have any power. Maybe I do, and maybe I don’t. We’re going to find out pretty soon.”

Isn’t comforting to know that our pResident is focused squarely on the things that matter most? And renaming AI is so important that he spent several minutes babbling about it at the UN. At least he’s not proposing that the name be changed to American Intelligence, or Trump Intelligence. But his advocacy of it is bad enough, especially in this venue. Just a couple of months ago the UN published a study that found that “AI’s environmental costs threaten water, land and climate.” The study concluded that…

“Artificial Intelligence is not only responsible for worrying amounts of earth-warming greenhouse gases: the technology’s environmental footprint is also expanding at a pace that could strain the planet’s natural resources.”

Undeterred by reality, Trump went on to defend AI from critics who he said had also criticized climate change, and his scandals associated with Russia, Ukraine, and immigration. All of which he said are hoaxes, including warnings about AI. And as usual, Trump is on the wrong side of public opinion on this subject. As reported by Newsweek…

“Americans are unhappy with Trump’s performance on AI issues. Only 23 percent said they believe he has handled AI ‘very well’ or ‘somewhat well,’ while 57 percent said he has handled it ‘not too well’ or ‘not well at all.'”

Lastly, it needs to noted that Trump’s motivations with regard to promoting AI are the same as his motivations for almost everything else that he talks about: MONEY! Is anyone surprised by this…

Trump Says He Banned the Media Because it is a ‘Threat to National Security and Must Be Stopped’

Last week Donald Trump took a giant leap toward cementing his legacy as the most media averse president in American history. Although he relies on the press to satiate his massive yet fragile ego, he simultaneously despises it for not being constantly obedient and adoring.

These colliding psychoses that plague Trump resulted in his declaration of an unambiguously anti-American, unconstitutional banning of several news organizations that had the audacity to report the truth about him. Proving, once again, that he is a big baby who is scared witless. And with that CNN, MS NOW, and Politico were prohibited from covering Trump’s public appearances at the White House and elsewhere.

The backlash from Trump’s assault on the First Amendment was furious from all quarters. Democrats and some Republicans have condemned Trump’s actions. Free press advocates have issued statements promising to fight back in court against his censorship. All five TV news networks that provide White House pool coverage of Trump – ABC, CBS, NBC CNN and Fox News (that’s right, even Fox News!) – have announced that they are suspending coverage of Trump because of his media ban and trashing of the Constitution.

However, Trump himself is undeterred in his crusade against the free press and his determination to suppress all critical opinions of him and his criminal regime. He posted the following comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social…

“The White House is not instituting an assault on the Free Press, something which I cherish. It is instituting an assault on the FAKE NEWS, something that has grown like Cancer in our beloved United States of America. It is corrupt, purposeful, pervasive, fully coordinated, and totally out of control. It is a threat to our National Security, and must be stopped, NOW! Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

There’s a lot of flaming bullshittery stuffed into that brief paragraph. To begin with, Trump doesn’t “cherish” the free press. He cherishes free fawning publicity. Furthermore, he is making a ludicrous distinction between the free press and what he calls “FAKE NEWS.” In his twisted mind any news that is less than wholly worshipful is fake. And anything that he decides is fake is cancerous and corrupt and must be stopped.

Trump’s delusions of grandeur have often led him to make bizarre assertions to excuse his atrocities. But in this comment he goes farther than usual. Now he is accusing the media of being “a threat to our National Security.” Is that a precursor to his outlawing journalists and/or news networks? His tedious whining about fake news was bad enough, but now he is using the same language to describe media that he doesn’t like as he does to describe foreign enemies and terrorists.

Trump’s comment shows that he is embracing the authoritarian policies of his idols and mentors, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un, whose friendships he often celebrates. But American is not Russia or China or North Korea. And he is not likely to get away with it. Already the networks that Trump banned have begun their efforts to fight back. As reported by CNN…

“‘This morning, we notified the government that we are filing a lawsuit today to protect our First Amendment rights and defend the principle that the government does not decide what the press reports or publishes,’ the three news organizations said in a joint statement on Monday.”

Trump’s charging that the media constitutes a national security threat is a new tactic that he has begun using in order to impose his tyranny on the nation. After being criticized and ridiculed for his vanity ballroom, Trump said that he added an underground bunker and drone ports so that he could claim it is necessary for national security.

Likewise, Trump now says that his egomaniacal triumphal arch was modified to include more drone ports, sniper blinds, and munitions storage. Gee, what could go wrong by placing a munitions dump in the middle of a densely populated city where terrorists could blow it up and kill thousands? But for Trump it’s another excuse to claim that it’s a national security necessity.

What’s next? Will Trump declare that elections in which he and his MAGA confederates don’t win is a threat to national security? Will he just declare that the Democratic Party is a threat to national security? Maybe he will declare that the Constitution itself is a national security threat. Which actually is what he is already doing…

Inflation is worse due Trump’s tariffs and war against Iran. The GDP keeps trending lower. And the debt has grown to $40 trillion.

While the American people are burdened with higher costs for everything from groceries, to gas, to healthcare, to housing, and more, Trump and his regime are trying to convince them that everything is hunky dory, but they are just too stupid to know it. No wonder Trump is so determined to keep the free press from reporting the truth about him and his failures.

On Sunday morning Trump’s chairman of the White House Economic Council was at his regular post on Fox News disseminating MAGA propaganda. Although this time he encountered a speed bump of sorts when Fox’s Peter Doocy asked a rational question that was loaded with facts about Trump’s failing economy…

Doocy: I want to know which of these things sets off alarm bells inside the West Wing. We’re gonna put up a poll. Only 23% of voters thinking the economy is excellent or good. 12% of voters describe their personal financial situation as getting ahead. Or 62% of voters saying grocery prices are a major problem for their families. Do any of those make you think, “we’ve got a problem here?”
Hassett: Look, I’m the White House economist and alls I can say is polls, over and over again, harm impressions about the economy because they poll way too many Democrats…Republicans are basically seeing what we see, which is a very strong economy with low inflation. [Followed by a bunch of lies about how “great” the economy is] What happens is that the far left media…instead of talking about that, they wanna talk about these jimmied polls. I’m not convinced at all.
Doocy: No far-left media here, Kevin.
Hassett: No, but you’re saying what they say.

REALLY? The polling that Doocy cited, and that Hassett is complaining about, are Fox News polls. So now Fox News has to be framed as far left in order for Hassett’s lies to apply. Of course, he doesn’t bother to provide any evidence for his claim that “they poll way too many Democrats.” In fact, this survey included 41% Democrats and 42% Republicans. But that sort of equity isn’t good enough for Hassett, who believes that only Republicans should be polled, and the opinions of the majority – Democrats and Independents – are irrelevant.

If Trump and his flunkies want to bury their heads in the sand and pretend that the American people aren’t struggling to make ends meet, that’s fine with Democrats. It is one of the main reasons that Trump and his MAGA GOP are trailing so badly in the polls leading up to the midterm election. The people know that Trump couldn’t care less about them, and that the Republican Party is beholden only to Trump.

So performances like this one by Hassert are not resonating with voters. They weren’t even meant to. They were aimed only at Trump for his approval. And they aren’t going to move the needle on elections, particularly when they are only aired on networks like Fox, whose viewers have already been indoctrinated into the MAGA hive mind.

That said, Fox’s audience will at least get a taste of reality with questions like the one Doocy posed today, and polls like the one cited in this segment. Will it change their votes? Maybe a few. But it might make more of them less inclined to vote at all. Which is even better, because then other Republicans down ballot won’t get their votes either. So the message from Democrats to Hassett and his comrades is “Please proceed.”

Trump’s devotion to advancing his MAGA dystopia is boundless, as is evident in his governing style that emulates tyrants old and new. He insists that he has unchallengeable power. He engages in rampant corruption to enrich himself, his political cronies, and his billionaire comrades. He pontificates on expanding his global empire. He builds or steals monuments to his own vanity and imaginary glory. And he suppresses anyone or anything that questions his messianic supremacy.

On Saturday morning Trump took to his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, to announce his latest tribute to His MAGA-sty: The AI FORCE. And to hear him tell it, it is a new branch of the armed services with a mission to defend artificial intelligence and all of its atrocious appendices. Trump began his announcement by enumerating what he considers to be a string of hoaxes…

“Over the years, there have been many Hoaxes, all generated by the Radical Left Dumocrats, for purposes of destroying our Country. RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE, Global Warming, Impeachment Hoax #1, Impeachment Hoax #2, Men in Women’s Sports, Transgender for Everyone, and now, the decimation, or destruction, of AI, commonly known as Artificial Intelligence — And I, as President of the United States, will not stand by and let this happen.”

That rant is classic Trump. And it only serves to remind everyone of all the verifiable scandals and criminality that define his occupation of the White House. Yes, he is an asset of Russia, an enemy of Ukraine, and a twice impeached felon with bizarre sexual obsessions. And as for AI, Trump demonstrates that intelligence is not his strong point. He offers a brief history of AI, saying that…

“It all began with an attack on our Data Centers, until people realized how wealthy and prestigious they were for the Communities in which they were built.”

True to form, Trump doesn’t provide a single shred of proof that AI data centers have been financially advantageous to anyone except the corporations that build them. If he really believes that they benefit communities, why doesn’t he offer to have one built at or near Mar-a-Lago, or any of his golf courses? Don’t hold your breath for that. He won’t even tolerate a few wind turbines. But data centers that dirty the environment, devour energy, and destroy the peace of neighborhoods, he claims to staunchly favor and will steadfastly defend…

“We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry. Rather, we will cherish it, help it, and watch over it, as it grows!”

So Trump’s AI Force will be the first branch of the service tasked with “cherishing” a business enterprise based on a controversial technology. And with that Trump declares that…

“I am forming the AI Force, much like I did Space Force, which has been a tremendous SUCCESS, in my First Term. To that end, I will be announcing, in the near future, the AI “Czar” — Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!”

We can rest assured that Trump’s “High I.Q.” AI Czar will match the qualifications of his Cabinet. Such as his alcoholic, ex-Fox News, Secretary of War Crimes, Pete Hegseth. Or his former heroin addicted, vaccine skeptical, Secretary of Health and Human Services, Robert Kennedy, Jr. Or his criminal defense lawyer turned Attorney Genuflect, Todd Blanche. Or his election denying plumber, Secretary of Homeland Security, Markwayne Mullen. Or his reality TV contestant Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy. Or…Well, you get the idea.

Just to make sure that everybody understands just how ignorant Trump is about AI, he helpfully posted another comment that makes it unmistakable…

Herr Trump Has Banned CNN, MSNOW, and Politico From the White House for Reporting ‘Fake News’

The MAGA Autobahn to American fascism that Donald Trump has been speeding down has just seen him passing a significant landmark. The Trump regime has long been open about its hostility toward the free press and the Constitution that protects it. And Trump has frequently maligned the media in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.”

However, on Friday morning Trump cemented his legacy as a censorious tyrant on a mission to control what the media is allowed to report, and what the American people are allowed to know. It’s a giant leap backwards in the freedoms that have been a cherished part of America for 250 years. And although Trump’s latest atrocity is extraordinarily grotesque, it isn’t exactly anything new coming from Trump.

Obsessed as he is with his public image, Trump was once again ignoring the critical issues facing the nation – i.e. endless war, rising inflation, environmental catastrophe, crumbling democracy, etc. – in order to address his wounded ego. Something must have triggered the feeble pResident, which led him to post the following comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social…

“I am proud to announce that, effective immediately, I am banning Fake News CNN, MSNOW (who recently changed their name from MSNBC due to lack of viewership and credibility!), and Politico…from the White House as a result of their constant ‘reporting’ FAKE NEWS! Media Outlets shouldn’t be able to constantly write or report FICTION and LIES when they’re covering the President of the United States…Other Fake News Media Outlets to follow.”

This is the latest example of Trump’s determination to emulate his heroes, Vladimir Putin of Russia, and Kim Jong Un of North Korea. He believes that he can unilaterally declare which media outlets are permitted to cover his occupation of the White House. He previously banned the Associated Press, but that ban is being contested in the courts. And it hasn’t stopped the AP from reporting on him and his criminal activities.

Meanwhile, Trump has nothing to say about the real fake news that props him up like the messiah of the MAGA cult, which is what they believe him to be. So Fox News, Newsmax, One America News, Breitbart, etc. remain in good standing in his White House press room.

If Trump thinks that this ban will stop the press from covering him, he will be sorely disappointed. What’s more, he will face certain backlash from the public that relies on a free press to stay informed. There will also be some backlash from the media, although not nearly enough. If they acted with integrity as a group they would all boycott Trump until these bans are revoked.

Whatever set Trump off this morning is not yet known. But it will likely be revealed soon. He was clearly in a bad mood. A couple of hours prior to this comment he posted one that was equally disturbing, if not as explicit…

Why is Trump bothering to post about CNN if it is so "Unwatchable and Failing"? He's been saying that for years, but it's still there.And his claim that "very few people are watching," is negated by the fact that he is obviously one of them. ?

The only thing that Trump is accomplishing with this is that he is confirming that he doesn’t give a damn about freedom, or the people, or democracy, or America. The only thing he cares about is himself and shielding his massive yet fragile ego from the truth. That’s how malignant narcissists behave. And it’s why they should never be given power.

Furthermore, it just gets worse under pressure. Which is what Trump is experiencing now with the approaching midterm elections that are predicted to bring a Blue Tsunami, wiping out much of the Republican Congress, and making Trump the lamest of ducks for the two years remaining of his term. In short, he’s scared and desperate.

Fox News Poll Says ‘Democrats Are Considered the Party that Would Better Handle…’ EVERYTHING!

Of course, as baseball legend Yogi Berra said “it aint over till it’s over.” So voters need to actually cast their votes in numbers too big to rig before they declare victory.

Donald Trump, Biggest Loser

The latest evidence that Republicans are in full collapse is a new poll by Fox News. That’s right…Fox News – Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda – has just released a poll that affirms all of the previous polling that designates Trump as this year’s biggest loser. Not that he is cognitively capable of acknowledging it…

Because the poll was so negative for the MAGA media network, it was only briefly discussed on the air. And they left out most of the really juicy stuff. But Fox News hack John Roberts manages to find a dishonest slant with which to introduce the segment, saying that “I guess voters are hankering for the old days of 9% inflation.” [NOTE: President Biden reduced inflation to 2.9% by the end of his term, and Trump has driven it back up to 3.4%].

The details of the Fox News poll are almost entirely bad news for Trump and his MAGA movement. What follows are some of the lowlights that are driving Trump and his comrades crazy(er), and leading them to engage in desperation tactics such as accusing all Democrats of being communists.

FROM THE FOX NEWS POLL…

“Overall, nearly two-thirds of voters (63%) say the Trump administration has made the economy worse, including a quarter of Republicans.”

“By a wide margin, the Democrats are considered the party that would better handle inflation at a time when the cost of living and the economy are voters’ top concerns…Costs of everyday items are a hardship for voters.”
[NOTE: On every issue polled – gas, groceries, healthcare, housing, tariffs, Iran – a majority say they are dissatisfied with Trump.]

“Only 8% are enthusiastic about how the government is working, with another 23% satisfied. A 68% majority is unhappy, including a high of 33% who are ‘angry.'”

“Independents favor the Democratic candidate 53-31%.”

“Those with a negative view of both the Democratic and the Republican Party (‘double haters’) favor the Democratic candidate in their district by a 26-point margin.”

“A Trump endorsement made [voters] less likely to support a candidate by a 15-point margin…(25% more likely, 51% less likely).”

“53% say the Trump administration is more corrupt than previous administrations.”

“Nearly two-thirds support raising taxes on the wealthy.”

“Fifty-seven percent say the way capitalism works in the U.S. these days doesn’t give people a fair shot, up from 42% in 2019. That shift spans political views, increasing among Democrats (by 17 points), Republicans (+13), and independents (+22).”

Numbers like these just 47 days before a critical election are devastating for the already demoralized Republicans. And it doesn’t help that Trump is demanding that GOP candidates feature him in their campaigns. At a recent rally Trump insisted that voters “pretend that [Trump] is on the ballot.” And given how universally he is despised, that’s an idea that Democrats are also advocating.

See? Trump has found common ground with Democrats. However, Trump’s own party is not on board. Many of them are dodging him and asking him to stay away. His recent Trump-a-Palooza rally in Dallas was a pitiful failure. In fact, if Trump insists on staying in the spotlight for the next six weeks, it might be Republicans pushing to impeach him.

There is little mystery as to why the Democrats are so strongly favored. On virtually every issue the America people agree with Democrats, including the issues of greatest concern to voters: the economy, healthcare, the Iran war, Artificial Intelligence (AI), and even immigration. Meanwhile, Republicans are burdened with a delusional leader in Donald Trump, who doesn’t even know where he is or what he’s saying.

So it shouldn’t surprise anyone that one of Trump’s most devoted congressional comrades, Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, is making the MAGA media rounds to fluff Dear Leader, and to try to whip up interest among demoralized Republicans to turn out in November. Cruz, like Trump and the rest of the rattled right, is employing a strategy of desperation and fear in order to avoid an electoral blowout. So during an interview on Newsmax Cruz warned that…

“We are at real risk of losing both the House and Senate. So I am devoting every waking hour to raising money, to campaigning, to fighting to keep the Senate Republican, to keep the House Republican. If the Democrats take the Congress they will use it to fight with everything they can to stop Trump’s agenda. So I’m doing everything I can to stop that.”

HOLY CRAP! Are Democrats really running to obstruct Trump’s totalitarian aspirations? Do they really plan to halt and reverse his wreckage of the economy? Could they possibly be plotting to probe his grifting and self-enrichment? Would they bring his reckless and illegal wars to an end?

Yeah, Teddy Boy! That’s exactly what they’re doing. And it’s why they are winning. Your promise to fight their efforts to “stop Trump’s agenda” will be an enormous benefit – to the Democrats. So thanks for that. Maybe now you would like to cut a campaign ad accusing Democrats of conspiring to make healthcare available to everyone, lowering the price of gas and groceries, protecting the environment, restoring international relations, and preserving democracy.

Cruz is resorting to the sort of last ditch tactics of a party that knows it is doomed. Those tactics generally result in making their already dire circumstances even worse. That said, this is not the time for Democrats to get over confident. It’s not over til it’s over. And Democrats must remain committed and motivated until we have bona fide victories.

Which means that we need to vote in huge numbers. Vote early. Vote by mail. Get all of your friends and family to vote. Volunteer for campaigns and GOTV efforts. We need to make sure that we have the votes necessary to defeat the flagrant, unconstitutional, voter suppression measures that Trump and the GOP are already engaging in. LFG!

Trump RAGES Over Supreme Court Not Bending to His Tyrannical Determination to Rig the Election

There is nothing that irks Donald Trump more than not being able to get his way on whatever matter he happens to be throwing a tantrum about. He is like a spoiled toddler who screeches at the top of lungs if mommy won’t buy him a G.I. Joe doll.

This behavioral defect of Trump’s is what causes him to lash out if he can’t have his name on a memorial for a slain president (see the Kennedy Center). It’s what drives him batty if his own Republican comrades in Congress fail to deliver his legislative obsessions.

Now Trump is whining petulantly about a ruling by the Supreme Court that prohibits him from imposing his wholly unconstitutional restrictions on voting by mail. He has been fighting this battle for months, and losing at every turn. But this latest ruling is the final word, at least for anything that might occur before the November election.

Consequently, Trump has disgorged a tediously long and incoherent tirade on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. It consists mostly of Trump maligning the Justices and the Court as “a laughing stock all over the World,” whose “horrible decisions…will be costing the U.S.A., for many years to come,” and are causing “irreparable and unrecoverable harm!” And it just gets worse from there…

The bullshittery contained in Trump’s bitchologue is too voluminous to comment on everything. So what follows are a few choice annotated excerpts.

“Republicans just got another bad decision from the United States Supreme Court…to our totally CORRUPT and out of control Mail-In voting “disaster.”
Here Trump is regurgitating his long held lies that there is something “CORRUPT” about our voting systems. Never mind that he has never been able to document any of it, and every credible study refutes his claims. His Attorney Genuflect, Todd Blanche inadvertently proved the falsity of Trump’s allegations in a press conference this morning, bragging about finding 11 allegedly illegal votes in the 2022 and 2024 elections. However, the total votes cast in 2022 and 2024 were 267 million. So his 11 cases is just 0.000004%.

“It is a big loss for Republicans, and America itself, and makes cheating by the Radical Left Dumocrats, on Mail-In Ballots, a much easier thing to do.”
By asserting that this ruling is a “big loss for Republicans,” Trump is conceding that his intention was to produce a partisan benefit for his MAGA GOP, rather than a fair outcome consistent with the Constitution. And once again, he baselessly claims that mail-in voting is a way for Democrats to cheat.

“Justices are petrified of these crazed and depraved Democrats. [And] This Supreme Court is bullied and cajoled by the Radical Left.”
This is a twofer for Trump. He gets to insult the Justices as “petrified” cowards, and the Democrats as “crazed and depraved.” Neither of which does Trump have any proof of to back himself up. And if anyone is bullying the Court, it’s Trump. Where is there even a hint of “cajoling” by Democrats?

“These are not the people I interviewed to serve on the United States Supreme Court, they are merely a shell of their original selves. [who have] rendered some of the most destructive, hurtful, and damaging decisions in our Country’s history.”
With this Trump is bashing his own appointees to the Court. Which is an insult to those Justices, but also to himself for being a terrible recruiter. Even worse, he believes that his appointees are beholden to him, rather than to the Constitution. And if he thinks that this decision is among the “most destructive, hurtful, and damaging decisions in our Country’s history,” he doesn’t know much about history. Which, of course, goes without saying for Trump.

Also embedded in this harangue was Trump’s seething anger at other recent rulings concerning tariffs and birthright citizenship. And while these are all very different cases, to Trump it’s all the same problem: The Court didn’t agree with him. And therefore they are cowards and traitors and unfit to serve. But given The insanity in Trump’s comment, and his ignorant, ego-driven responses to the Court’s decisions, it’s Trump who is clearly unfit to serve.

Most of the inflation that is burdening the American people has been the result of Trump’s ignorant economic agenda that has been aimed at benefitting himself and his wealthy comrades. He has cut taxes for corporations and the rich. He has imposed tariffs on most of the rest of the world. He has increased the national debt to a record $40 trillion. His reckless and illegal war against Iran is causing oil and other commodity prices to skyrocket. And he has no idea how to end it.

One of the more surprising issues to arise during this campaign season is that of Artificial Intelligence (AI). It is stirring the concern of voters for both the financial and environmental costs of maintaining its infrastructure (data centers), and for its potential to cause catastrophic harm to humanity. Consequently, Trump’s polling on his handling of AI is just as dreadful as his polling on pretty much every other issue of importance to voters.

Naturally, Trump has weighed in on the AI controversy with his typically ludicrous perspective that is a mix of stupidity and ego. He posted a comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, saying that…

“The only control or ‘guardrails’ that AI needs is a STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT, and the U.S.A. has that, in spades!”

There is a wealth of idiocy in Trump’s comment. To begin with, no one but his most brainwashed cult disciples would regard him as either strong or smart. And his assertion that he alone has the ability – and the authority – to handle the monumental management of everything related to AI is downright delusional.

More troubling is the tone of this comment and some others that followed it. It is frighteningly close to how a near sentient robot would express its needs and impose its desires/demands on the weaker humans that created it. Which raises the question of whether or not Trump’s comment was actually provided for him by AI to disseminate to the public. In other words, is Trump now the servant of his AI master?

Why else would Trump be arguing on AI’s behalf for what AI wants? Trump is opposing any regulations to reign in AI’s extraordinarily rapid growth. He is advocating for AI data centers all over the country (except for anywhere near Mar-a-Lago) as boons to the economy and even national security. He is insisting on making the U.S. the center of AI development and operations.

Trump is acting as the chief spokesperson for AI’s interests, despite them being contrary to the interests of the Americans that Trump is supposed to be serving. With closer examination it almost seems like AI created Trump as a PR vehicle. For example, here are a couple of other comments Trump posted this morning…

“The only reason the AI/Data Center outburst is happening is because the United States is leading, by a lot, every other country. Don’t kill the Golden Goose!”

“Concerning AI, when, in the History of Business, did anyone see the Leaders of an Industry call for Regulation that, if strongly implemented, will drive them into oblivion and bankruptcy? AI taking over the World, destroying Humanity, and all other things bad, is a HOAX.”

Ai could not have said it better itself. And it would make sense that an unfeeling mechanical entity would want a fleshy figurehead to press its case to the humans. What better candidate than a cognitively impaired octogenarian whose only motivations are accumulating wealth and satiating a massive ego?

As further evidence that Trump could be an AI controlled meatpuppet, take a look at how he responds when he is asked questions that are not of interest to AI. His memory and connection to reality seem to be nonexistent…

His MAGA-Sty Trump is ‘Wielding Power to Stifle Speech’ – According to a New York Times Exposé

And every day as it approaches Donald Trump and his MAGA Republican Party are descending ever deeper into the Mariana Trench of disapproval. Trump’s polling is already worse than at any time during either of his occupations of the White House.

Under ordinary circumstance, a politician with such abysmal ratings prior to an election would seek to broaden his support and adopt positions that had greater appeal to voters. But there is nothing ordinary about Trump. And Trump doesn’t even seem to believe that he is doing poorly.

Instead of searching for ways to attract voters, Trump is searching for ways to silence his critics. Suppression of dissent has been a core feature of Trump’s (p)residency. Throughout his time in office he has shown a seething hatred for the free press and the Constitution that protects it. He files lawsuits against media companies, bans reporters from public events, and lobs personal at insults journalists, especially women.

The New York has been one of Trump’s perennial targets. Veteran Times correspondent Maggie Haberman has been viciously attacked by Trump, who refers to her in his typically infantile manner as “Maggot Hagerman.” And now the Times has published an analysis of Trump’s dysfunctional relationship with the media that he calls, in Stalinist terms, “the enemy of the people.”

The article’s headline is “How Trump Is Wielding Power to Stifle Speech.” And Haberman is a co-author (along with Jim Rutenberg) so expect a Trump feakout. It begins by describing Trump’s anti-media agenda as “a sweeping campaign to control speech in America.” Then elaborates saying that…

“Regulatory agencies are using their powers to pressure media organizations over their content. The administration has stripped funding from public television and radio. Angry over stories he does not like, President Trump has sued major news organizations and the White House has taken control of the previously independent press pool that tracks the president, deciding which outlets can participate.” […]

“Driven by personal pique, fury over leaks and a determination to shape the political narrative to his advantage, Mr. Trump is deploying the might of the federal government and filing personal lawsuits — targeting not just journalists and liberal critics, but also comedians and talk show hosts, and the corporate entities behind them.”

Indeed, Trump has already filed numerous meritless lawsuits intended to censor and/or intimidate the press. In addition to the Times, his targets have included the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, ABC News, CBS News, CNN, and even the Pulitzer Prize board, who dared to give awards to media that wrote honest stories about Trump’s failures and crimes.

Furthermore, the article’s claim that Trump has “taken control of the previously independent press pool” was affirmed by Trump’s own press secretary in an unprecedented move to improperly dominate the communications that come from the White House to the people.

The Times’ article went to reveal that, according to the international media watchdog, Reporters Without Borders, “The United States now ranks at its lowest since the organization started the index in 2002 — 64th.” An executive director of the organization says that “There’s not a week that goes by where they’re not taking a new step to curtail press freedom in the country.”

It’s safe to assume that, as Trump continues to flounder, this will only get worse. His animosity toward the media, and his festering narcissism, virtually guarantee that he will exhibit ever more severe symptoms of his media-averse depravity. It would helpful if the media would stand up for itself more often and more vigorously.
