The flaming bigotry of Donald Trump is not exactly a breaking news story. He has displayed his racial hatred for decades in a virtually prideful manner, and shamelessly exploits it to secure the support of the small but obnoxiously loud community of American bigots.

While most of Trump’s racist attacks just happen to fall on Black women, he does sometimes broaden his attacks to include Black men, including Don Lemon and Charlamagne Tha God. But on Saturday morning Trump went after the Democratic House Leader, Hakeem Jeffries, saying that…

“Hakeem “High Tax” Jeffries is a Low IQ individual who is not smart enough to be ‘running’ the Democrat Party, and certainly not smart enough to be involved in running the United States of America.”

Trump’s “Low IQ” epithet is a big part of his extraordinarily limited vocabulary. And it is aimed almost exclusively at Black men and women who dare to oppose him. What made Trump’s outburst on this occasion slightly different is that he also called one of his most fervent MAGA supporters “Low IQ” just a few minutes after insulting Jeffries with it. He railed at ultra-rightist Candace Owens, who recently criticized Trump over his Iran war, saying that…

“Candace Owens’ stock, which was never very high, has fallen a long way…she is an extremely Low IQ individual!”

So Trump is demonstrating that he has the capacity to be a bipartisan racist, demeaning the intelligence of Black people on both the left and right ends of the political spectrum. Of course, he still directs the vast majority of this abuse at left-leaning Black women including Kamala Harris, Jasmine Crockett, Maxine Waters, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, Ayanna Pressley, and Rashida Tlaib, all of whom he has called “Low IQ.”

In yet another affirmation of Trump’s inbred racism, this week he ordered his “Justice” Department to prosecute the Southern Poverty Law Center, a non-profit enterprise that has been fighting racial hate organizations for 50 years. And of course, their preposterous, legally meritless allegations are that the SPLC is itself racist. The real objective of the persecution is to defend groups like the KKK that form the base of Trump’s MAGA cult.

In the Trump era he has had some success at making it acceptable to be openly racist, at least within the already racist MAGA communities. It will be interesting to see if they continue to back him now that he has launched his invective at the Blacks that they have tolerated because they embraced Trump.

The MAGA cult has lately been showing cracks in their foundation. Will this topple it completely? Probably not. But combined with his broken promises to refrain from starting new wars, and to release the Epstein files, and to lower prices for gas, groceries, etc. the ground beneath Trump’s empire may be turning into quicksand.
