One of the most troubling characteristics of malignant narcissists like Donald Trump is that when they are challenged and feel threatened their anxiety is elevated and their adverse reactions jacked up to ever more extreme levels. As a result they lash out more violently and incoherently as they struggle to maintain their perceptions of themselves as superior and perfect.

That behavior has been observed in Trump for years. And as time passes, his condition is exacerbated by repeated public failures and the dire toll of age. His ability to comprehend reality has declined, while his delusions of grandeur rise to absurdity.

On Monday morning CNN’s data analyst, Harry Enten, did a segment on polling that compared Trump to one of his most despised political foes, former President Barack Obama. And the results are just the sort of findings that fuel the fire of Trump’s temper tantrums. Enten revealed in part that…
“President Obama absolutely crushes president Trump when it comes to who is more liked by the American public….
“Who has been the better president? Barack Obama comes in at 55%, Donald John Trump comes in at just 37%…
“President Barack Obama is far more popular than president Donald Trump is. And Americans overwhelmingly agree that Obama was the better president than Donald Trump.”

Oh my. That’s surely going to trigger Trump’s acute case of ODS (Obama Derangement Syndrome). Particularly because Trump has lately been selectively and deceptively citing CNN and Enten to boost his public image.

Among the recent flagrant lies Trump has delivered about his polling were comments made in a bizarre and tediously lengthy comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social. The posting was more than 1,300 words of pure slop wrapped in a bitter harangue aimed at Bill Maher for briefly mentioning Trump’s record low approval ratings. Trump raged that…
“Using Fake Polls, he also said I had my Lowest Ratings so far, ‘and even the Republican Party doesn’t like him,’ but that’s not true. I have High Ratings and, more importantly, he said that I’m losing the support and approval of the Republican Party when, in fact, CNN just came out with a Poll showing that I’m at 98 and 99% support within the Republican Party, an All Time Record High.”
Needless to say, everything Trump said was false. In reality, CNN’s most recent poll showed Trump with 74% approval among Republicans, a new low. But it was enough to trigger his CNN polling rant that was wedged into the following schizoid posting (don’t bother reading it unless you have a lot of spare time and a strong stomach):

Another example of Trump’s ODS was evident at his cult rally last week. Even in the midst of his midterm campaign tour’s stump speech, Trump couldn’t help but take time to complain about Obama. And this particular complaint oddly reveals that he actually watches Obama’s rallies. Probably just to get material that he can lie about.
