Sean Hannity Unloads a Laughably Lame Defense of Nepo-Sister Darline Graham Nordone

The fight for majority control of the Senate is getting more intense with each passing day. And while the Democratic prospects are improving, Republicans are becoming more desperate and driven by panic. Recent projections show that a Democratic Senate majority is the more likely outcome in November.

Fox News Sean Hannity

These projections are driving Republicans crazy – or crazier. They are resorting to bizarre campaign themes that reanimate the “red scare” tactics of the 1950s when fear mongering about communists around every corner was popular with the GOP. And it gets even worse than that on Donald Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox News…

SEE THIS: Fox News is OUTRAGED that Democrats are So Good Looking – No, REALLY!

Wednesday night’s episode of Sean Hannity’s program featured a segment wherein Hannity brought in the Trump-endorsed Senate candidate in South Carolina, Darline Graham Nordone, sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham. She was fresh off of a humiliating debate performance with her Republican primary opponent, Rep. Ralph Norman, where she was asked a straightforward question about U.S. policy toward Taiwan and babbled that…

“I’m not that informed on national security…so…but I do support the military. My brother was in the Air Force for 33 years, so I will do everything I can to support the military. My dad was in the Army. I’m not a polished politician up here. National security is not my thing, not my area of expertise.”

Okay then. National security isn’t her thing. It isn’t Trump’s thing either, and look at how well that’s turned out. But her problem isn’t that she’s unpolished. It’s that she’s uninformed. And the fact that her family has served in the military doesn’t mean that she has absorbed their knowledge telepathically. Despite what Hannity thinks…

Hannity: I bet based on all your time with your brother, that you know probably everything about the Middle East because he went on one trip after another to every country in the Middle East. And I know you know a lot about Europe and the Ukraine-Russia situation because he went to Ukraine more than any other senator. […]
Graham Nordone: Absolutely. I know national security is important. We have a wonderful commander in chief.

SERIOUSLY? Graham Nordone agrees “absolutely” with Hannity that she knows “everything about the Middle East” and Europe and Ukraine, because her brother had been there. That’s a pretty low bar. And judging by her remarks, she doesn’t even get over that.

Graham Nordone addressed a few other other subjects during this interview. For instance, she said that she’s concerned about what voters in South Carolina are concerned about, and that “They’re concerned about boys in girls’ sports.” Yeah, that’s probably number one on their priority list. Never mind the war in Iran, or how they are struggling to pay for groceries, gas, healthcare, housing, etc.

She also said that she wants to serve the 50 million people in South Carolina, where there are actually only 5.4 million people. And she opposes DEI, despite being an appointed sister of a senator, who has zero relevant knowledge or experience. And she supports Trump’s “Save America Act” (aka Voter Suppression Act). Even though, if it were passed, she wouldn’t be allowed to vote without jumping through some legal hoops because her legal married name doesn’t match the name on her birth certificate.

There is a runoff for the Republican nomination for this seat next week, where she is facing Rep. Norman. If she makes it past that, she will face the Democratic nominee, Dr. Annie Andrews, a truly impressive and qualified candidate who deserves your support. Although she doesn’t appear to have any siblings from whom she could magically divine knowledge. So Hannity and his ilk might consider that a drawback.
