Trump Lies

Trump appears determined to set new records in his second term. Not just for the quantity of lies, but also for the vast distant between his lying and reality. In recent days Trump has claimed that he won his illegal war with Iran weeks ago, despite continuing to fight it. He claims that the economy that he wrecked is the best ever. He brags that he has the highest approval ratings of any president. But even his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, isn’t buying most of that.

On Friday Trump’s chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Brendan Carr, was on the podcast of Benny Johnson, an ultra rightist Trump-fluffer who is known to have been paid by Russian propaganda outlets. In the course of their discussion Carr, revealed some startling news about Pope Leo XIV…

“Today, I saw the Vatican called out U.S. news outlets for being fake news for running a false story about a Department of War meme. Even the Pope is calling out America’s fake news! This all flows from President Trump.”

First of all, it needs to be pointed out how ridiculous it is for Carr to be complaining about “fake news” as a guest on the podcast of a Kremlin stooge. And there is only one news network that was forced to pay nearly a billion dollars for lying – that’s Fox News.

More to the point, Carr is brazenly lying about what he claims that the Pope said. There is no evidence that the Pope “called out U.S. news outlets” regarding any memes referencing the Department of Defense (For the Record: There is no such thing as the Department of War). Carr’s claim that “the Pope is calling out America’s fake news” is itself fake news. It never happened, and Carr didn’t bother to cite his alleged source.

That’s not to say that the Pope has never spoken about the media. He has. But in a measured way that encompassed all of it without any partisan leanings. For instance, the Pope recently said that…

“Often, the proclamation of truth is obscured by what we today call “fake news” — lies, insinuations, and unfounded accusations. Yet, in the face of such obstacles, the truth does not remain hidden; rather, it comes forth to meet us, living and radiant, illuminating even the deepest darkness.”

Notice that there is no mention of American media or the Department of Defense in the Pope’s remarks. He is criticizing the broader, worldwide media environment, and advocating for greater attention to be paid to truth finding. Carr made up the rest. And he is using the Pope as a prop to advance his dishonest attacks on the free press. Instead, Carr ignores the Pope’s sharp criticisms of the corporate monoliths that control so much of the media, and that are run by Trump’s billionaire buddies. Such as when…

“…he warned about the danger of having a ‘handful of companies’ be in control of so much data and be able to ‘subtly influence behavior and even rewrite human history.'” […]

“Media and communication companies cannot allow algorithms designed to win the battle for a few extra seconds of attention at any cost to prevail over their professional values, which are aimed at seeking the truth.”

That said, Carr deserves some credit for admitting that “This all flows from President Trump.” Indeed it does. The Lyin’ King is the role model for the deceitful behavior of his flunkies. They follow his lead to lie shamelessly at every opportunity. But that can’t go on for long. So they should heed the the Pope’s warning that “the truth does not remain hidden.” In a very real sense, the truth is Trump’s enemy.

Despite his campaign promises to lower the cost of living on day one, to solve what he called an immigration crisis, and to refrain from starting any new wars, Trump has failed to fulfill a single pledge made after fourteen months in office.

To the contrary, Americans are paying more for everything from groceries to gasoline to housing to healthcare. They have been terrorized in their own neighborhoods by Trump’s Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) thugs. And the nation is currently embroiled in a reckless and illegal war against Iran that Trump has failed to coherently justify or provide an exit strategy for. No wonder his approval ratings are in the toilet. Even according to recent polls by his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News…

Trump isn’t a big fan of polls that don’t show him as adoringly worshipped by 110% majorities of the people. And he has been critical of Fox News for occasionally publishing polls that reveal his weaknesses. So expect him to be in a foul mood if his nursemaids show him the latest survey from Fox News that asked voters what they think of their tax burdens since he returned to office. According to Fox News…

“With the deadline to file taxes a week away, a record number of voters say their taxes are too high, according to the latest Fox News Poll. They are also bothered by the rich not paying their fair share and how the government uses their money. In addition, three-quarters feel government spending is wasteful — up almost 20 points since last year. […] A record 70% of voters think the taxes they pay are too high — up 11 points from last March and surpassing the previous high of 64% in March 2024.”

These are abysmal numbers that reflect Trump’s ignorance, as well as the deliberate malevolence of his policies. He never intended to serve the interests of the average American. He was always focused solely on enriching himself and his billionaire buddies. So, mission accomplished. Consequently, these results shouldn’t surprise anyone.

The respondents to this survey cannot be dismissed as simply being whining malcontents who would complain about their taxes whatever they were. They are having valid reactions to the reality that they are encountering. Their dissatisfaction is borne out in a recent study by the non-partisan Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy that found that…

“President Trump has raised taxes on most Americans in ways that more than offset the tax cuts he has signed into law. The net effect this year of all his tax policies is to increase taxes on the average American in all income groups aside from the richest 5 percent.” […]

“For a large majority of Americans, the tax increase resulting from Trump’s tariffs, along with the ending of the health care tax credits, more than offsets any tax cuts provided by OBBBA (One Big Beautiful Bill Act).”

Additional findings in the Fox News poll reveal that “What bothers people most about federal income taxes is the wealthy are not paying enough,” and that “Disapproval of how President Trump is handling taxes has reached a record high of 64%, up 11 points from a year ago.” Also, while three-quarters of Democrats, Republicans, and independents say that “a significant share of government spending is wasteful and inefficient,” for some reason 69% of Republicans rate Trump positively for his handling of government waste. That is in contrast to “nearly all Democrats (90%) and a large majority of independents (80%) [who say he] is not doing a good job.”

None of this augers well for Trump and his MAGA Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections. Most analysts are now predicting that Democrats will likely end up with majorities in both the House and the Senate. In other words, Trump’s taxation may result in better representation. And if that happens, Trump and his MAGA comrades will be facing political and legal accountability in – as Trump would say – levels they have never seen before.

Trump Lies and Threatens CNN Over a Story He Falsely Claims Was Fake News From Nigeria About Iran

Now that Trump has claimed victory over Iran – after repeatedly claiming imaginary victories in the past six weeks – he is bragging about how masterful his negotiating skills are that led to this outcome. Never mind that the alleged ceasefire that Trump is touting is already reported to have been broken, and that few if any of his demands have been met.

True to form, Trump is laser focused on on the facade of leadership that he seeks to present. He has always been more interested in appearances than substantive results. And to that end, he is reverting to his standard operating procedure of bashing the free press should they report anything about him that is less than gushingly adoring. In his diseased mind, he must be worshiped at all times, and at all costs…

The ceasefire deal that Trump claims to have struck will supposedly reopen the Strait of Hormuz, which was already open before the reckless and illegal war that he started. Only now it will be controlled by Iran who will be charging fees to pass through it. Iran will also get sanctions relief in this deal, and their oil will be selling for much more on the global markets. And all it cost the United States was a few billion dollars and thousands of innocent Iranian lives, as well as thirteen American troops.

Trump proudly posted a comment announcing the deal on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, saying that, subject to Iran agreeing, he would “suspend the bombing and attack of Iran for a period of two weeks.” Because everything that Trump does happens (or more accurately, doesn’t happen) in a two week span, from revealing his healthcare plan to releasing the Epstein files. This time he’s reneging his prior promise that “A whole civilization will die tonight.”

Then, in pursuit of more surface level adulation, Trump lashed out at CNN for publishing a story about the ceasefire. Naturally, Trump’s position contained an abundance of anger and a litany of lies. He wrote that “The alleged Statement put out by CNN World News is a FRAUD,” and made a bizarre charge, without any evidence, that “The false Statement was linked to a Fake News site (from Nigeria).” But then he elaborated with an overt, albeit impotent, threat…

“Authorities are looking to determine whether or not a crime was committed on the issuance of the Fake CNN World Statement, or was it a sick rogue player? CNN is being ordered to immediately withdraw this Statement with full apologies for their, as usual, terrible ‘reporting.’ Results of the investigation will be announced in the near future. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

So Trump is seeking to criminally prosecute CNN for publishing a story that he doesn’t like. And furthermore, he is “ordering” them to retract the story and apologize to him. That is the tyrannical behavior of a confirmed fascist who thinks that he has the right to dominate the press. Which is nothing new for Trump.

For the record, CNN is standing by their story. They claim that it is well sourced and accurate. As reported by Deadline…

“CNN is defending its reporting on the statement. A spokesperson said, ‘The statement in question was obtained by CNN from Iranian officials and reported on multiple Iranian state media outlets. We received the statement from specific official Iranian spokespeople who are known to us.'”

To make matters worse, Trump’s FCC boss, Brendan Carr, joined in the attack on CNN. Without conducting any investigation or research, Carr charged that CNN’s conduct was “outrageous,” and that they were “pushing out a hoax headline,” and that “this requires accountability.”

So Carr is also threatening CNN, even though he has no authority over cable news networks. He closed with an ominous taunt that it is “Time for change at CNN.” [Note: Trump’s billionaire pals David and Larry Ellison are in the process of acquiring Warner Bros/Discovery, which also owns CNN]

This sort of government bullying of the media is what you might expect to see in dictatorships like Russia and North Korea. But considering that those countries are run by Trump’s idols and mentors, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he is emulating their totalitarian tactics. Hopefully, he will be stopped by a new Democratic Congress and the American people who cherish freedom.

Trump’s INSANE Threats and War Crimes Against Iran are Dismissed by His Acting Attorney General

Despite his insistence that the war would be short, and that he won it weeks ago, it has escalated into a conflagration that threatens millions of innocent people.

There are numerous cognitive contradictions in Trump’s diarhetorical outbursts regarding this mission. In addition to Trump’s claim of victory, while continuing to fight, he has said that he is fighting for the Iranian people’s freedom, while slaughtering thousands of them; he has said that the United States doesn’t need any help from Europe, while blasting them for not helping; he has said that the Strait of Hormuz would be easily opened, while unleashing ever more hyperbolic threats if Iran doesn’t open it immediately. He really seems to have no idea what’s going on or what to do.

As a result of his confusion and ignorance, Trump is lashing out wildly. On Tuesday morning he posted a horrific comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, that upped the ante of his unhinged antagonism, warning that “A whole civilization will die tonight.”

That sort of bombastic derangement is obviously intolerable. It adds to his prior advocacy of war crimes wherein he called for civilian infrastructure in Iran (power plants, bridges, etc.) to be destroyed. It ought to trigger immediate actions to remove Trump from office by either impeachment or the 25th Amendment. Those actions would require Trump’s Cabinet and/or the Congress to stand up. And while Democratic members of Congress are doing so, those remain difficult solutions at present.

Unfortunately, Trump’s “Justice” Department isn’t going to be any help in the pursuit of justice. Trump has managed to transform the DoJ into an arm of his personal defense law firm. And although he recently fired his bootlicking Attorney General, Pam Bondi, the “acting” Attorney General, Todd Blanche, may be even worse. During a Tuesday morning press conference, he was asked about the war crimes that Trump has been accused of…

Reporter: A number of military and legal scholars have raised questions about bombing a nation’s bridges and energy infrastructure as a possible war crime. What is DOJ’s analysis of that position, and could you give us a sense what you are advising for the White House?
Blanche: The Department of Justice, as it always does, supports the Department of War [which doesn’t exist], the White House, the Department of State, and our intelligence communities…we provide counsel to them and we have been doing that.

Well, that clears that up, doesn’t it? Blanche was asked what his advice would be for Trump, and he responding by saying that he gives Trump advice. Gee thanks.

The matter of war crimes is hardly a question at this point. There are no credible legal analysts who would dispute that Trump’s threats, if carried out, would be grossly illegal, as well as immoral. And the negligence of Blanche and others in the administration make them just as culpable for the crimes as Trump.

It is precisely for situations like these that several members of Congress produced a video a few months ago to remind military personnel that they are obligated by law to refuse to follow unlawful orders. And now that Trump is floating such orders, it is imperative that he not be allowed to proceed. This is so plainly evident that even former MAGA Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene is sounding the alarm…

Trump Admits Gross Failures Arming Protesters in Iran and to Slaughtering Defenseless Iranians

The United States is entering week six of what Donald Trump calls the “little excursion” into Iran, and for which he declared victory a few hours after it began. In the interim thirteen American soldiers were killed, and thousands of Iranian civilians, including children whose school was bombed.

Now Trump is continuing to insist that he will press forward with even more aggressive assaults and is explicitly promising to commit war crimes in his psychopathic fixation to “obliterate” Iran. The lunacy of Trump’s obsession is impossible to ignore. And, of course, Trump seems to make matters worse every time he opens his mouth.

In comments to the press during his deranged White House Easter Egg Roll, Trump was asked a rather obvious question that he has bungled in previous attempts to answer…

To be clear, Trump is confessing that his military mission in Iran is currently engaged in slaughtering defenseless civilians. If an enemy actually can’t fight back, it’s time to cease offensive tactics and transition to asserting a dominant role over the remnants of the enemy’s government. Instead, Trump is threatening even more harsh tactics including a genocidal threat that “The entire country could be taken out in one night. And that night might be tomorrow night.” What is the purpose of such a threat against an enemy that has no capability to resist, other than sadistic gratification?

What’s more, Trump also told reporters at the Easter affair about a plan to arm Iranian dissidents that he admits ended in total failure.

“We sent to some guns. But the group that we were supposed to give – which I said would happen to my people. I said…I called it exactly – We sent guns. A lot of guns. They were supposed to go to the people so they could fight back against these thugs. You know what happened? The people that they sent them to kept them. Cause they said ‘What a beautiful gun. I think I’ll keep it.’ So I am very upset with a certain group of people and they will pay a big price.”

Here Trump is revealing that he presided over a plan that he opposed, and that he claims to have told his staff wouldn’t work. And he’s bragging that he was right about it. But he nevertheless approved it and that it did indeed fail. He must be so proud.

So now there are “a lot of guns” from America circulating around in Iran in the hands of people that were not intended to get them. Although he didn’t say, it is likely Kurdish dissidents. But it’s okay, because Trump is “very upset” with them. How that helps the Iranian people remains a mystery.

All of this is happening as Trump has given a 48 hour deadline (24 hours ago) for Iran to comply with his demand to open up the Strait of Hormuz, that Trump has variously claimed wasn’t necessary, would open up by itself, or would result in Iran “living in Hell” if they didn’t open it.

The flagrant contradictions in Trump’s yammering reflect the diseased mind of psychopath with no respect for international law, morality, or human life. And yet, his disciples in Congress, the MAGA media, and a tiny but loud faction of the public, continue to follow him. Because that’s the nature of a cult. And in this case, a death cult.

In the meantime, Trump’s rosy scenarios to describe the progress of the war keep contradicting themselves. According to Trump we already won three weeks ago, but we are still required to escalate militarily with more aggressive bombing and threats of worse to come. We don’t need the Strait of Hormuz, but Iran must open it immediately or “reign in Hell.” We can defeat Iran without any help from our NATO allies, but NATO is going to suffer if they don’t join our war effort. He’s having a really difficult time identifying who the enemy is.

On Easter morning Trump phoned in an interview with Fox’s correspondent in Israel, Trey Yingst, wherein he revealed what appears to be some clandestine information about the mission. He told Yingst that…

“[Trump] provided new details on what happened earlier this year as the Iranian regime took to the streets and slaughtered what the president said is 45,000 civilians in their own country. After that took place the president told me the United States sent guns to the Iranian protesters. He tells me ‘We sent them a lot of guns. We sent them to the Kurds.’ And the president tells me he thinks the Kurds kept them. He went on to say ‘We sent guns to the protesters. A lot of them.'”

Of course, we cannot dismiss the possibility that Trump is lying. Such a lie would have no benefit to American interests, but it could bring harm to friendly Iranians. On the other hand, if this is true, then Trump has disclosed information that Iran can use against the regime’s opponents. They can find and confiscate the weapons, and punish those who possessed them. They could even trace the guns to learn about how they were smuggled into Iran, and to identify American operatives in the country.

This sort of betrayal by Trump is nothing new. His motives are never to advance what is best for America. He is exclusively focused on what’s best for himself. That partly explains the comment that Trump posted on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, that exposed just how acutely demented he is. Yingst mentioned Trump’s post in his report saying that Trump wrote that…

“‘Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the Fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah. President DONALD J. TRUMP”

To be clear, that profane outburst is another example of Trump explicitly threatening to commit war crimes. Targeting power plants and bridges is an attack on civilian infrastructure that will cause great suffering to civilians and result in untold numbers of fatalities. No wonder the Trump regime is seeking to prosecute Democratic members of Congress for reminding soldiers that they are legally bound to refuse illegal orders.

On Saturday morning the Times made a small but awkward mistake in the headline of their international print edition. It asked whether there is “A North American Treaty Organization Without America?” Of course, NATO stands for A North “Atlantic” Treaty Organization. This is mistake made by a copy editor, not the author of the article. And it was corrected quickly with an acknowledgement of the error. That sort of transparency and honesty is something that is entirely foreign to Trump, who lies as he breathes.

“The Failing New York Times, whose lack of credibility, and their constant Fake News attacks on your favorite President, ME, has caused its circulation to absolutely PLUMMET, referred to our severely weakened and extremely unreliable ‘partner,’ NATO, as the North American Treaty Organization. The correct name is the North Atlantic Treaty Organization – A very interesting mistake! The hiring and educational standards have gone way down at the NYT. Bring back, ‘ALL THE NEWS THAT’S FIT TO PRINT’ and, Make America Great Again! President DJT”

Let’s set aside Trump’s infantile insults about the state of the Times’ business affairs. His criticism of the mistake by the Times is hilariously lacking self-awareness. Trump makes more and much worse mistakes nearly every time he opens his mouth. And he has frequently demonstrated that he has no idea what NATO is or what its value to the United States is. Surely someone had to tell him about this mistake and why it was in error.

More importantly, Trump completely ignored the substance of the article that he was making more prominent by his comment. The point of the piece was to reveal how pitifully empty Trump’s threats to exit the pact are. The article opened by saying that…

“Since his re-election, President Trump has threatened to leave the NATO alliance several times. On Wednesday, he did it again, frustrated that European nations had refused to join the so-far indecisive United States-Israeli war against Iran. But the more he disparages NATO and threatens to abandon it, the more hollow it becomes.”

The Times may want to send Trump a “Thank You” note for attracting more readers to this damning critique of him. The author documents that Trump has repeatedly said that he feels no obligation to defend Europe or to comply with Article 5 of the NATO treaty, that mandates mutual defense. To the contrary, Trump regards Europe’s reluctance to help him with his war against Iran as a breach of the treaty.

Trump doesn’t comprehend that NATO is a defensive agreement. It doesn’t require member nations to join in on the reckless aggressions of other members by aspiring dictators like Trump. What’s more, Trump spent years motivating European nations to expand their own defense capabilities so that they are now less reliant on the U.S.

America needs its NATO allies as much or more as they need America. But Trump couldn’t care less about that. Because weakening NATO would fulfil a longtime goal of Trump’s pal, Vladimir Putin. So it is, therefore, Trump’s goal. But putting Europe more at risk to Russian aggression would severely harm America. Which is why Congress passed a law prohibiting a president from withdrawing without congressional approval. In fact, that law was sponsored by Trump’s Secretary of State, then-senator Marco Rubio.

Trump’s rage filled rant about the New York Times is a typically flawed perspective that he is using to hide his impotence as a leader. He can’t withdraw from NATO. He can’t disguise his weakness. And he can’t stop the reporting of his failures. And if he really wants to mock someone for making a mistake, here’s one from his Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News…

The workload of the American president is an arduous burden that would tax the stamina of anyone. So it must be particularly grueling for someone like Donald Trump, a 79 year old who is morbidly obese, doesn’t believe in exercise, and consumes mostly fast food and diet soda. The only physical activity Trump gets is walking to and from the buffet at Mar-a-Lago, and “dancing” to the Village People’s “YMCA.”

Trump in Bed, Eating, Sad

Trump’s physical and mental well being have long been a subject of concern. And it is never more worrisome than when he is caught on video sleeping through his own criminal trials and repeatedly falling asleep during his Cabinet meetings that consist almost entirely of his doting toadies lavishing him with adoration and near messianic praise? That must be exhausting.

Consequently, it is not surprising that Trump is now delegating one of his most important tasks to his vice president, JD Vance. In a comment posted to his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, Trump decreed that…

“Vice President JD Vance is now in charge of ‘FRAUD’ in the United States. It is massive and pervasive, and the job he will be doing, in conjunction with many great people within the Trump Administration, will be a major factor in how great the future of our Country will be.”

So Vance will now be taking over for Trump and will be “in charge of ‘FRAUD.'” Following in the footsteps of Trump, Vance surely has some big (clown) shoes to fill. After all, who knows fraud better than Trump? He has 34 felony fraud convictions to his name. And those are only the ones that he didn’t manage to avoid by being reelected and having his Supreme Court flunkies grant him conditional immunity. But Trump was just getting started. He continued…

“We will call him the ‘FRAUD CZAR,’ and his focus will be ‘EVERYWHERE,’ but primarily in those Blue States where CROOKED DEMOCRAT POLITICIANS, like those in California, Illinois, Minnesota (Somalia beware!), Maine, New York, and many others, have had a ‘free for all’ in the unprecedented theft of Taxpayer Money.”

Who could have predicted that Trump would focus his fraud probes on blue states? Never mind that there is zero evidence to support his claim that there is more fraud among Democrats than Republicans. To the contrary, the CATO Institute found that it is Republican led states that dominate the top rankings of their public corruption study. Trump then closed with this preposterous claim…

“The numbers are so large that, if successful, we would literally be able to balance our American Budget. Raids have already started in L.A. Good Luck JD!”

Trump has promised to balance the budget many times. He said that tariffs would do it. Or oil stolen from Venezuela. Or Elon Musk’s “DOGE” cuts to the federal bureaucracy. None of those even decreased the deficit, much less eliminated it. The current budget deficit is about $2 trillion. Which is almost exactly the increase in Trump’s most recent budget proposal. That proposal includes $1.5 trillion for Trump’s Department of “War.” So Trump thinks that his “Fraud Czar” will find more fraud than the entire Defense Department funding request.

Since Trump brought up the state of California for special attention, let’s see what Gov. Gavin Newsom had to say about Trump’s baseless charges.

Unlike Trump, Newsom delivered some actual facts to support his arguments. He linked to a “Stop Fraud“ website that went into detail, revealing that…

“California is leading the nation in preventing fraud, waste, and abuse — protecting billions of dollars meant for families, students, seniors, and communities [And that] Trump is the King of Fraud — pardoning criminals and promoting self-dealing corruption.”

With Vance taking over the Fraud Czar duties, poor, old, Dozy Don will be able get some more much needed rest. Because he is not the superman that the Trump cult believes him to be. Confirming his appreciation for the arts, Trump posted a rambling rant on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that featured one of his longtime celebrity crushes, rock and roll superstar Bruce Springsteen. Trump could hardly contain himself as he wrote that…

“Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

That’s right. Trump thinks that “The Boss,” who is three years younger than the mob boss, resembles a rotting fruit. Apparently Trump has put so much gold crapola in the White House that there isn’t any room for mirrors. But Trump was just getting started. He continued saying that Springsteen “is a total loser who spews hate.” Never mind that he is one of the highest grossing concert performers in the world who only hates those who promote hate. Such as Trump.

Trump went on to lie about having “won a Landslide Election,” that he actually won by a historically tiny 1.5% margin. And he lashed out at President Biden saying that “Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD.” But that’s only if you’re too mentally impaired to see reality. According to the conservative magazine, “The Economist,” Trump inherited an economy from Biden that was “The envy of the world.”

Trump’s track record with childishly insulting celebrities is an unbroken streak of failure. He famously declared that “I hate Taylor Swift.” He threatened to revoke Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship. He called Charlamagne Tha God “a racist sleazebag.” And he has relentlessly attacked Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, and Jimmy Fallon as having “no talent.” All of these beloved entertainers remain high on the list of successful artists.

In fact, shortly after Trump expressed his hatred for Taylor Swift, she headlined the highest earning concert tour in history, taking in more than a billion dollars. So Trump’s review of Springsteen is actually a pretty good omen for him as he is starting his “Land Of Hope And Dreams American Tour.” Not that it did anything for Trump’s celebrity First Lady Melania…

Springsteen is surely shaking in his boots. Meanwhile, Trump can still root for his own musical idols with whom he shares much in common: Ted Nugent and Kid Rock. UPDATE: Twelve hours after Trump posted his childish comment about Springsteen, he followed up with another asking “Is Bruce Springsteen going to sue his plastic surgeon?” Trump is definitely suffering from Springsteen Derangement Syndrome. He’s a 79 year old man acting like 17 year old “Mean Girl.” And even if Springsteen has had plastic surgery (doubtful), he should thank his doctor, who did a great job. Trump’s second occupation of the White House has produced nothing but misery for the American people, and chaos for the world. He has wrecked the economy with his inflationary tariffs. He has brought violence to the streets of the nation with his ICE StormTrumpers. He has started an illegal war against Iran on flagrantly false premises. And in the meantime, he has dedicated himself to building vanity ballrooms, plastering his name and face on U.S. institutions and silly merchandise, and wasting hundreds of millions of dollars on petty pastimes like golf and watching MAGA media. Consequently, his approval ratings have been circling the toilet…

So what is an ultra partisan propaganda purveyor like Fox News to do under these circumstances? To no one’s surprise they double down on the preposterous positions they have been pushing for years. Unfortunately for them, it doesn’t have the same impact when the lies are aimed at fostering a floundering loser who is incapable of forming a coherent thought.

On Wednesday’s episode of Fox’s morning show “Outnumbered,” co-host Kaylee McGhee White sought to prop up Trump by shifting the blame for his failures onto Congress. In a segment discussing a recent Supreme Court ruling that Trump could not continue to build his golden ballroom without the approval of Congress, White whined that…

“The judge emphasized congressional authority. But as a reminder, Congress can’t even pass DHS funding. Congress can’t pass the Save America Act.”

Exactly! White is helpfully confirming that Congress, as it is presently constituted, is incompetent and utterly incapable of performing its designated legislative duties. Under the stewardship of House Speaker Mike Johnson and Senate GOP leader John Thune, they are the least productive Congress in decades. And they are currently in the midst of a partial shutdown because they can’t pass legislation to fulfill their most basic function, to keep the government open.

What White and her Fox News comrades fail to mention is that this pathetic excuse for a legislative body is wholly run by a Republican majority. So the failures that Fox News is amplifying are entirely due to the inept management of the Republican Party and its Dear Leader Trump.

For his part, Trump is proving that there is no bottom to how low his approval ratings can go. Even a recent Fox News poll found that “nearly two-thirds, 64%, are dissatisfied [and] that’s the highest dissatisfaction rating of President Trump’s second term.” He was additionally found to be deeply underwater on virtually every issue, including the economy, inflation, healthcare, foreign policy, and immigration.

No wonder Fox News is trying to deflect responsibility from Trump to anything else. It’s just too bad that they are such bumbling buttkissers that they can’t make a rational argument to absolve their messiah of the guilt he so richly deserves. But if they want to blame Congress, fine. The American people will have something to say about that in November.
