Totally Deranged: Trump Gets Hopelessly Lost in His Own Warped ‘Weave’ of Lies and Deflections

The evidence of Donald Trump’s mental infirmities has been frightfully abundant. The more public appearances he makes, the more obvious is his descent into babbling incoherence. That may be why his campaign staff is strictly limiting his interviews and exposure.

Donald Trump, Mocking Disability

In recent weeks Trump has chickened out of a traditional 60 Minutes interview that has featured both Republicans and Democrats for 50 years. He refuses to have a second debate with Kamala Harris. He has declined to release his medical records, while preposterously accusing Harris of having cognitive problems. And he remains firmly ensconced within his MAGA-friendly bunker, only agreeing to visit with slobbering sycophants and cult disciples.

SEE THIS: Kamala Harris is Blitzing Media that Donald Trump is Too Afraid of To Do

On Tuesday morning Trump did a Q&A at the Economic Club of Chicago hosted by John Micklethwait, Editor-in-chief of Bloomberg News. And to no one’s surprise, it went straight and abysmally south as Trump failed to grasp what the heck was going on. In each instance Trump wandered far afield from the subject and had to be handheld back. What follows are a few of the exchanges that illustrate his extreme enfeeblement…

Micklethwait: Should Google be broken up?
Trump: I can’t believe the DOJ is suing Virginia over its voter rolls. I haven’t gotten over that.
Micklethwait: The question is about Google, Mr. Trump.

The tangent that Trump travels down here is a blatant lie. He asserts that the Justice Department sued the state of Virginia to make them retain “illegal votes.” In reality, the DoJ only sought to have Virginia comply with federal law which prohibits removing voter registrations (not votes as Trump said) within 90 days of an election. That’s because doing so can result in valid registrations being deleted without sufficient notice or time for the voter to re-register. Trump never answered the question about breaking up Google. Nor did mention his threat to prosecute the company for hurting his feelings. And then…

Trump: I call it the weave. [unintelligible] You have the weave as long as you end up in the right location at the end.
Micklethwait: I was asking about tariffs.

In this fantasy, Trump babbles about World War III and his claim to have “knocked out ISIS” which, of course, is still very much in existence and conducting its terror operations. None of that had anything to do with tariffs. And even after Micklethwait tried to bring Trump back to Earth, he still couldn’t give a coherent response. And then…

Micklethwait: I’ve asked about the Federal Reserve.
Trump: You’ve got to be able to finish a thought.
Micklethwait: You’ve gone from the dollar to Macron.
Trump: No, I’m just telling you basic, uh it’s called the weave.

Clearly Trump is incapable of focusing on the subject at hand. And even when he is reminded what the conversation is about, he is unable to contribute anything relevant to the dialog. His remarks are a toxic mixture of ignorance and absurdity. And when he repeatedly refers to what he calls the “weave,” every sane listener just thinks he’s talking about that rat’s nest atop his head. Nobody thinks that spewing gibberish about unrelated matters is a sign of intelligence. Well, nobody other than the glassy-eyed disciples that populate his cult.

Trump, Who Refuses to Release Medical Records, Calls for Kamala Harris to Take a Cognitive Test

When President Biden ended his reelection campaign in July, he elevated Donald Trump to the status of being the oldest person ever to be running for the presidency. And that distinction comes with some of the baggage that weighed on Biden’s campaign before he passed the torch to Kamala Harris. Namely, is there – or should there be – a maximum age to serve as president?

Click here to Tweet this article

Kamala Harris, Donald Trump baby

The answer to that question depends a great deal on the particular candidate. People develop age-related issues at different times as they grow older. However, sometimes the evidence of cognitive decline is apparent to any objective and impartial observer. And if any candidate deserves to be scrutinized as insufficiently capable of carrying out the duties of the presidency, it is Donald Trump.

SEE THIS: TRUMP IS TOAST: The Washington Post’s Laundry List of Trump’s Increasingly Bizarre Claims

Among the psychological syndromes that plague Trump is one known as “projection,” a defense mechanism where someone unconsciously or consciously attributes their own thoughts, feelings, or behaviors onto another person or group. And a clearer description of Trump’s latest attack on Harris would be hard to find. In a late-night post on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, Trump lashed out saying that…

“I believe it is very important that Kamala Harris pass a test on Cognitive Stamina and Agility. Her actions have led many to believe that there could be something very wrong with her. Even 60 Minutes and CBS, in order to protect Lyin’ Kamala, illegally and unscrupulously replaced an answer she had given, which was totally ‘bonkers,’ with another answer that had nothing to do with the question asked. Also, she is slow and lethargic in answering even the easiest of questions. We just went through almost four years of that, we shouldn’t have to do it again!”

So Trump, who is unable to get through his cult rallies without wandering off into deranged diversions about the fictional film cannibal, Hannibal Lector, or fears of electrocution in a sea of swarming sharks, thinks that Harris needs to take a cognitive test. That’s the same guy who thinks that his rallies draw ten times as many people as would fit in the venue, but Harris’ rallies that are filled to the rafters are attended by nobody. And it’s the same guy who flaunts fantastical fantasies about migrants eating dogs and cats.

In his comment Trump refers to the 60 Minutes interview that Harris did, and which Trump initially agreed to, but later chickened out. And in his reference he lies about the editing of the segment, even calling it illegal.

MORE HERE: Trump Threatens CBS Over Kamala Harris Interview on 60 Minutes He Says Was ‘Possibly Illegal’

What’s more, Trump’s call for Harris to take a cognitive test ignores the fact that she just released the complete results of her medical exam. This is something that Trump has promised to do, but like his taxes, healthcare plan, infrastructure bill, and so much more, it’s a promise that has gone unfulfilled.

Trump surely has good reasons for refusing to release his medical records. If they had any positive info in them, he would have released them with a huge fanfare weeks ago. So it’s safe to assume there’s something troubling that he needs to hide. And that is behavior that’s consistent with his refusal to do any interviews outside of his MAGA-friendly safety bubble, or participation in another debate with Harris. He’s just plain scared. His staff knows it. And so does the Harris campaign.

Trump’s mental deficiencies have also been noticed by over 250 doctors and health care providers who are now calling on him Trump to release his medical records. In an open letter they wrote that “his refusal to disclose even basic health information is a disservice to the American people.”

“On August 20, Donald Trump said he would ‘very gladly’ release his medical records. In the 55 days since, he has yet to do so. With no recent disclosure of health information from Donald Trump, we are left to extrapolate from public appearances. And on that front, Trump is falling concerningly short of any standard of fitness for office and displaying alarming characteristics of declining acuity.” […]

“We are seeing that from Trump, as he uses his rallies and appearances to ramble, meander, and crudely lash out at his many perceived grievances. He also is notably refusing to give the public the ability to properly vet or scrutinize his capacities. Just last week, he backed out of an interview with 60 Minutes, and he is refusing to debate Vice President Harris again.”

The medical info that Harris release included the results of a neuropsychiatric exam. It is now imperative that Trump take the same tests and release the results. But if anyone is holding their breath waiting for Trump to do that, they might soon be in need on medical attention themselves.

Speaker Johnson Glorifies Dear Leader Trump’s Glorious Health, Rejects Calls for Medical Records

Any rational person who has been paying attention to the MAGA movement led by Donald Trump cannot help but recognize its similarities with cults from the past. He tolerates no dissension from his missionaries in politics and the press. His flock are glassy-eyed disciples who can see no wrong. And he employs the first rule of cults: Only Dear Leader will tell you the Truth. Everyone else is lying.

Trump in Bed, Eating, Sad

The obvious parallels between cults and MAGA should strike fear into the hearts of Americans who value the democratic principles that have formed the foundation of this constitutional republic for 250 years. Trump’s emergence as a demagogic figure threatens to put an end to the freedoms that the American people have enjoyed, and replace them with servitude to the wannabe messiah.

SEE THIS: IT’S A CULT! Poll Shows Republicans Trust Only Criminal Messiah Trump to Tell Them the Truth

On Sunday morning, one of Trump’s most loyal ministers, Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson, was interviewed on NBC’s Meet the Press. And the sermon he delivered there was extraordinarily reverential and bursting with blind devotion. It was a display of unfettered fealty to his salmonesque savior. The exchange began with host Kristen Welker asking Johnson whether Trump should release his medical records – which Johnson said were “irrelevant” – but descended into flagrant lies and worshipful exaltation almost immediately.

Welker: Should Donald Trump release all of his medical records, Mr. Speaker?
Johnson: He has. He issued – he issued the records of his physicians. Kamala Harris issued her medical records as diversion because she’s desperate, because she’s sinking in the polls. Donald Trump’s health is on display. Everyone in America can see it. The man works nonstop. He never quits. He probably sleeps four hours a night. He doesn’t require as much sleep as the average person. He’s an unusual figure. And this is the strength that we need in a time like this. We’re in the most dangerous moment since World War II. You have to have strength. You have to have a steady hand. You have to have a commander-in-chief that our allies respect and our enemies fear. They do not fear Kamala Harris. They do fear Donald Trump. That’s what people are going to vote on.
Welker: Mr. Speaker, just be very clear, he hasn’t released all of his medical records. He released two letters. Should he release the results of the cognitive tests?
Johnson: It’s unnecessary. He’s on display every minute.

There’s a lot of blatant BS to unpack here. Let’s start with Johnson’s barefaced lie that Trump has released his medical records. He has not. Johnson was, however, correct that Kamala Harris did release hers. And not as a diversion (she is currently leading in most polls), but because every presidential candidate for decades – except for Trump – has done so.

The only thing Trump released was an outdated and letter with no details from last year describing a partial physical that did not include cognitive testing, and two letters from disgraced former doctor, Ronny Jackson, who claims that he treated Trump after his “ear death” experience in Pennsylvania. He did not perform a complete physical on Trump at that time. Jackson is currently unlicensed, and was demoted in retirement from the Navy due to misconduct involving drugs and alcohol.

Johnson went on to assert that Trump’s medical records weren’t needed because his perfect health was evident and that “Everyone in America can see it.” That is hardly an alternative to a physical exam by a qualified professional. Trump could have numerous problems that are not visible to laymen watching him on TV, or measurable without laboratory tests. They could include any number of bio-deficiencies or abnormal growths. And certainly any mental defect would require closer scrutiny. Although there has been a great deal of that evident in Trump’s bizarre and incoherent ravings at his rallies and in recent interviews.

Johnson also lauded Trump’s alleged stamina. But boasting that he doesn’t sleep much is more a sign of depravation than fitness. Likewise, claims that America’s enemies “fear Donald Trump” are preposterous. Mostly they laugh at him. If there is any hint of fear it’s due to his mental instability, not his strength or intellect, both of which he is lacking. Which our enemies know and are adept at manipulating him.

Trump’s failure to release his medical records is certainly due to their having bad news in them. If they were positive he would have released them on live TV weeks ago. It’s the same reason he has refused to release his financial and tax records. He is afraid to let the American people see the truth.

Johnson knows all of this, but he is to deeply indoctrinated into the Trump cult to be honest about it. In the meantime, Democrats and other sane Americans need to stay focused on winning in November. It is more imperative now than ever.

Trump Threatens CBS Over Kamala Harris Interview on 60 Minutes He Says Was ‘Possibly Illegal’

Donald Trump has spent the past nine years castigating the media in the most vile terms. He regularly insults journalists as “stupid,” “lying,” “corrupt,” and biased against him, simply because they report the things he actually does and says. He maligns them with the same language that Stalin used, calling them “the enemy of the people.”

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Constitution

Trump’s fear and fury at the press is a core feature of his perverse persona. He labels any reporting that isn’t sufficiently worshipful “fake news.” Even his official Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) isn’t safe from his seething animosity. And his anger extends far beyond mere insults and tantrums. He often issues impotent threats if a news network has the audacity to engage in responsible journalism. For example…

SEE THIS: Wannabe Dictator Trump Threatens to Revoke ABC News Broadcast License in Fox News Interview

On Wednesday morning Trump was so bothered by a recent media event that he unleashed a rambling and rancid rant on his failing social media scam, Truth Social. The object of his outrage was the 60 Minutes interview of Vice-President Kamala Harris on Monday. Trump had agreed to participate at first, but later chickened out because he objected to their insistence on {gasp} fact-checking. And now, after the fact, Trump is lashing out with another lame and utterly preposterous threat. He raged that…

“I’ve never seen this before, but the producers of 60 Minutes sliced and diced (‘cut and pasted’) Lyin’ Kamala’s answers to questions, which were virtually incoherent, over and over again, some by as many as four times in a single sentence or thought, all in an effort, possibly illegal as part of the ‘News Division,’ which must be licensed, to make her look ‘more Presidential,’ or a least, better. It may also be a major Campaign Finance Violation.”

What Trump is whining about is that 60 Minutes edited the Harris interview, something that is done routinely in television journalism for legitimate reasons, including time constraints, clarity, and relevance. Trump’s assertion that some answers were edited “four times in a single sentence” is downright bonkers. And there is no indication whatsoever that Harris’ answers were altered to effect some political advantage. Trump’s complaint doesn’t even make sense, because he’s accusing CBS of edits that resulted in the answers being “virtually incoherent.” How would that help Harris?

Most troubling is Trump’s charge that the 60 Minutes interview was in some way “illegal.” As usual, Trump doesn’t provide any evidence of a crime, nor any statute that has been violated. He simply believes that if it bothers him it must be against the law. So he latches onto the fact that TV stations (not network “news divisions”) must be licensed to use the public airwaves. Which is his way of threatening CBS with the revocation of its license if they do not comply with his tyrannical demands.

This threat is consistent with Trump’s abhorrence of the free press. And it’s also consistent with his flaming hypocrisy. He has never complained that Fox News regularly (albeit futilely) edits his interviews to make him look better. He has never accused Newsmax of campaign finance violations for their slobbering sycophancy. And he doesn’t seem to object to the constant sane-washing of his demented speeches by the rest of the so-called “mainstream” media. Which leads us to the rest of his Truth(less) (anti)Social comment…

“This is a stain on the reputation of 60 Minutes that is not recoverable – It will always remain with this once storied brand. I have never heard of such a thing being done in ‘News.’ It is the very definition of FAKE NEWS! The public is owed a MAJOR AND IMMEDIATE APOLOGY! This is an open and shut case, and must be investigated, starting today!”

The public is indeed owed an apology – from Trump. His hostility toward the press is another example of his imminent threat to democracy. And his attempts to intimidate the media are antithetical to the Constitution that he has said he would “terminate.”

If this is “an open and shut case,” why is Trump yammering about it on his website that no one but his glassy-eyed cult followers read, rather than filing a complaint with the FCC or the Justice Department? Maybe because even he knows that he’s full of **it.

Fox News Trump Flunky Sinks to New Low, Citing Conspiracy Crackpot as an Election News Source

Perhaps the least surprising thing about the 2024 presidential election is that Fox News is working furiously to advance the campaign of Donald Trump and his MAGA minions. Shilling for right-wing politicos has been the mission of Fox News from its inception. So why should anyone expect anything different now?

Fox News, Fake News

The blatant dishonesty of Fox News was exposed when they agreed to settle a defamation lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems for 3/4 of a billion dollars. That settlement came after Dominion obtained hundreds of communications from Fox News executives and hosts revealing their deliberate lies and hypocrisies. But even that didn’t stop them…

SEE THIS: Fox News is Still Pushing the Lie that the 2020 Election Was Stolen that Cost Them $787 Million

The latest journey into journalistic disgrace for Fox manages to exceed its prior milestones of mis- and disinformation. Featured in this episode is Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, in her continuing role as a purveyor of pure propaganda. In a segment discussing the prospect of election fraud that Fox and Trump have been imagining is rampant, Bartiromo asks the national Republican Party co-chair, Michael Whatley, a question based on the “reporting” of a bona fide Internet nutjob…

Bartiromo: We want to get your take on whether or not you’ve got confidence there in Arizona because apparently The Gateway Pundit reported that the GOP chairwoman provided an update to allegations that there’s not going to be a fair election there.
Whatley: Well, there is going to be a fair election and we’re working very, very hard with the Arizona GOP. I actually had dinner with the chairwoman last night.

That’s right. Bartiromo has embraced Jim Hoft (aka Gateway Pundit), one of the most universally disreputable conspiracy peddlers on the Internet, as a source for her alleged “news” program. And the information that she draws from Hoft is a quote that he attributes to the chair of the Arizona GOP asserting that the election is already invalidated due to fraud, a month before it has taken place.

With Bartiromo’s adoption of Hoft as a source, Fox News has fully transformed into the status of an Internet Troll Network. They don’t employ any credible journalists, so their dependency on hacks like Hoft was inevitable. But to be fair, he really is no worse than Fox regulars Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, and the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends.

However, we can set aside Bartiromo’s guest, Whatley, disputing the charges by Hoft, and assuring Bartiromo that the election is going to be fair. Because it would be foolish to expect that view to stick. If Trump loses in November, the entirety of the GOP outrage machine, including Whatley, Trump, and everyone on Fox News, will be shouting from the rafters that the election was “rigged and stolen.” Just as they are still doing with regard to the 2020 election. In fact, Trump is already doing it. And even he isn’t satisfied with Fox…

Trump Lies that Democrats ‘Draw Flies’ at Their Rallies, and are Denying Him Protection at His

The downward spiral of Donald Trump and his floundering campaign continues to gather steam in its descent. The closer he gets to defeat, the more preposterous his outbursts become. It’s a display of paranoid desperation playing out in real time in a painfully public manner.

Trump Lies

Ever since Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee for president, Trump has struggled to find a way to revamp his campaign strategy from one that focused on an elderly, white, statesman, to one that effectively challenges a younger, Black, woman, with unparalleled experience and ability.

Trump appears to have settled on the old kindergarten schoolboy gambit of insulting his opponent as “stupid.” Just wait a week or two until he calls her a “poopyhead.” It’s also notable that Trump is using the same rhetoric to malign all Americans who support Harris…

SEE THIS: ATTN: Trump Says Pretty Much Everyone Who Supports Kamala Harris Must Have Their Heads Examined

On Monday morning Trump took a pathetic potshot at Harris that was more illustrative of his own sagging psychoses. It combined his tedious tendencies to whine with his acutely bizarre perversions of reality, claiming that

“The Democrats are interfering with my Campaign by not giving us the proper number of people within Secret Service that are necessary for Security. They’re using them for themselves, even though they don’t need them – they draw ‘flies.’ […] Hopefully the people of Wisconsin, and other areas where thousands are turned away, will realize that this is just another Democrat ploy!”

There is, of course, no truth to his assertion that Democrats have withheld Secret Service protection from him. But Trump never lets facts get in the way of his blatant propaganda. And he is once again misdirecting his own anxieties toward others. It is Trump who has the problem with drawing flies, both at his shrinking cult rallies, and surrounding himself personally, which he also believes is a plot against him…

Trump’s comment also touches on another complaint he’s had about the accurate reporting of his poorly attended rallies. In an earlier post, Trump invented a massive turnout of MAGA disciples that existed only in his twisted imagination. He said that…

“Kamala and Sleepy Joe are going out of their way to make it difficult for me to Campaign. We had one of the biggest crowds I’ve ever seen on Saturday, in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin…and we ended up having to use a 750 seat theater, having to send away more than 50,000 people. They were unable to give us Secret Service protection commensurate with the crowd.”

That’s right! Trump thinks that people will believe that 50,000 of his supporters actually showed up at a venue that holds 750, and were turned away. This rally was in Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin, a city with a population of 5,500, in a county of 16,100. You have to wonder where they parked. You also have to wonder if Trump deliberately chose this city, whose name translates to “Prairie of the Dog,” to entice hungry Haitian migrants to attend.

Finally, Trump posted another comment that announced his intention to travel to Valdosta, Georgia, so that he can get in the way of emergency operations to rescue and care for the victims of Hurricane Helene. Trump obviously feels that it’s more important for him to show up and throw paper towels and chicken fingers at the troubled residents of the region.

However, even in that pursuit, Trump had to resort to spouting ludicrous political allegations intended to incite further division at the expense of those who are suffering. He said that…

“We are now heading to Valdosta, Georgia…but don’t like the reports that I’m getting about the Federal Government, and the Democrat Governor of the State, going out of their way to not help people in Republican areas. MAGA!”

For the record, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp spoke with President Biden and expressed his appreciation for everything the federal government is doing to help. but telling provably false lies is how Trump thinks he will resuscitate his moribund campaign. He clearly doesn’t have any plans – or even concepts of plans – that might appeal to voters. So his entire strategy is to hurl childish insults and tell ridiculous lies.

While Trump has a faithful throng of cult devotees who adore this malarkey, the majority of the American people are repulsed by it – and by him. and if enough of then turn out on or before November 5th, Kamala Harris will hand Loser Trump another in a long line of defeats.

OUCH! Trump’s Flagrant Lies About 14,000 ‘Criminal’ Migrants Gets a Devastating Fact-Check

There are a lot of important issues facing the nation today. They range from the economy to healthcare to the climate crisis to foreign wars. But without question the primary issue that Donald Trump has latched onto for his horror show of a campaign to reoccupy the White House is immigration.

Click here to Tweet this article

Donald Trump, Immigrant, Child

To be sure, immigration is an important issue. And there have been some earnest attempts to deal with it responsibly. For instance, there was a bipartisan bill that passed in the Senate that would have addressed the matter in a comprehensive way. Unfortunately, it was Trump who sabotaged the bill by coercing his MAGA confederates in the House of Representatives to kill it because it might help his Democratic challenger. And that wasn’t even the worst of his demented views on immigration…

SEE THIS: From Cat Ladies to Cat Eaters: The Trump Cult is Sick, Twisted, and Totally Removed From Reality

For the past week Trump has been obsessed with a report that he said reveals shocking statistics about immigration and crime. He has posted numerous comments on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, and referenced the statistics at his recent cult rallies. There’s just one problem: He is grossly misrepresenting the data to advance his racist views on immigrants who he regards as mostly murderers, rapists, and other manner of ne’er-do-well. Let’s examine a sample of Trump’s remarks…

“14,000 CONVICTED thugs and slimeballs who have committed MURDER have been allowed to enter our Country, totally unvetted and unchecked, and roam free to KILL AGAIN…Kamala is a FOOL to have let this happen to our beautiful USA. It is totally unjustifiable, there can be nothing worse! She should be IMPEACHED for what she as done to our Country!”

We can set aside Trump’s infantile insults of Harris and his impotent demands that she be impeached. Instead, let’s focus on his ludicrous reference to the “14,000 CONVICTED thugs and slimeballs” that he says are “roaming free” to kill. That number was drawn from a report issued by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE). Trump is flatly asserting that all of these criminal migrants entered the U.S. during the Biden-Harris administration and that they – and specifically Kamala Harris – are responsible for it.

However, Trump, as usual, is lying. As Politico reports, “The majority of these individuals with criminal convictions were already on the non-detained docket and living in the United States before Biden took office.” The “14,000” is actually the total for a period of some 40 years. The number increased by only 5% during Biden’s term. And the increase that occurred during Trump’s term was nearly twice as much.

What’s more, according to Politico’s research, “The numbers also include nonviolent and petty crime — 126,000 are for traffic violations, while 92,000 are for immigration-related crimes (like crossing the border illegally).” And whatever the actual number of violent criminals is, it would be fewer if the Senate immigration bill that Trump killed were to pass. The bill explicitly provided funding to process, and expedite deportation if necessary, migrants who committed crimes.

It goes without saying that no amount of migrant criminals released into the U.S. population is acceptable. But being realistic, there are criminals in every subset of human groups. Even native-born Americans. And as it turns out, “Immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than U.S.-born Americans, studies find.”

The bottom line is that a tiny fraction of a percent of undocumented immigrants have been convicted of any crime. The vast majority are harvesting our food, building our homes, and caring for our elderly. So contrary to Trump’s fear mongering that “If Kamala is reelected, your town, and every town just like it…across our country…will be transformed into a third-world hellhole,” bloodthirsty and/or jaywalking migrants are not taking over our country.

The only criminal that America really needs to be worried about right now is Donald Trump. He’s the native-born miscreant with 34 felony convictions, civil liabilities for sexual assault and financial fraud, and 50+ more felonies pending for crimes ranging from election interference to inciting a deadly insurrection. Trump is by far the greatest risk to the safety and welfare of the American people.

Trump Lies that Zelenskyy Told Him He Did Nothing Wrong, Exhuming the Lie that Got Him Impeached

Five years ago Donald Trump was impeached for threatening Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in an attempt to bully him into digging up – or making up – dirt on President Biden. Trump’s extortion attempt was unsuccessful as Zelenskyy steadfastly refused to buckle under to Trump’s illegal and unethical demands.

Trump Penthouse Phone

Under ordinary circumstances, most former presidents, and current candidates, might want to avoid reminding voters of that humiliating chapter in their amoral career. But Trump is hardly ordinary. He’s a malignant narcissist who is consumed with his own image and welfare to the detriment of everything and everyone else, including himself.

SEE THIS: ATTN: Trump Says Pretty Much Everyone Who Supports Kamala Harris Must Have Their Heads Examined

On Friday Trump met with Zelenskyy as part of his campaign to pretend that he’s still the president, or at least in some measure relevant. The meeting was just another embarrassing episode for Trump. Zelenskyy appeared to be as uncomfortable as a victim in a hostage video. But he endured the indignity of standing next to Trump on behalf of his country in order to ensure the favor of congressional Republicans who still support Ukraine.

For his part, Trump was Trump. And in his barely comprehensible comments he managed to diverge from the matter at hand, to his still seething outrage at having been impeached for trying to strongarm Zelenskyy into helping him to smear Biden in the midst of a campaign. Ignoring the actual reasons for Zelenskyy’s visit, Trump turned the discussion to his own dated anxieties, saying that…

“When they did the impeachment hoax, a Democrat hoax, which we won, but one of the reasons we won it so easily is when the president was asked – it was over a phone call with the president, and he said – he could have grandstanded and played cute, but he didn’t. He said President Trump did absolutely nothing wrong. He said it loud and clear. And the impeachment hoax died there.”

As usual, there’s quite a bit of clean up to perform on that rant. First of all, the impeachment was not a hoax. It actually happened. And Trump cannot claim to have won when a majority of the House voted against him. The impeachment surely didn’t die there. In fact, there was a second impeachment to follow, related to Trump’s incitation of the insurrection on January 6, 2021.

More to the point, Trump’s assertion that Zelenskyy said that Trump “did absolutely nothing wrong” is an outright lie. To the contrary, what Zelenskyy said about what Trump calls the “perfect” phone call was pretty much the opposite, albeit in a diplomatic way. According to NBC News Zelenskyy said…

“’Look, I never talked to the president from the position of a quid pro quo,’ Zelenskiy told Time and a handful of European publications in an interview published Monday. ‘That’s not my thing. … I don’t want us to look like beggars. But you have to understand. We’re at war. If you’re our strategic partner, then you can’t go blocking anything for us. I think that’s just about fairness. It’s not about a quid pro quo. It just goes without saying.’”

Zelenskyy had to be careful about how he expressed himself. He obviously didn’t want to upset Trump. But he was clear that he wanted to avoid looking weak and doing anything that might result in the aid being withheld.

Those are concerns that Zelenskyy also had on his mind during his meeting with Trump Friday. And it must have taken a considerable amount of self control to remain silent when Trump bragged about his chumminess with the brutal aggressor who was slaughtering Ukrainian civilians, saying that he has “a very good relationship, as you know, with President Putin.”

It is interesting to compare what Kamala Harris said during her meeting with Zelenskyy to what Trump said. She was unequivocally supportive of our democratic ally, and rejects Trump’s “proposals of surrender.” Trump, meanwhile was all-in with making a “deal” with Putin that would result in Ukraine giving up territory and a weakening of NATO.

Trump has once again proven that he is an insensitive, egomaniacal cretin who is unfit to hold any office of power. And for this, and so many other reasons, the American people must emphatically renounce him on November 5th.

Crybaby Trump Tells Fox News that They Should Only Put on Sycophantic Trump-Fluffers

The symptoms of malignant narcissism include an obsessive, insatiable craving for constant approval and unflinching adoration. It’s one of the most obvious symptomatic affirmations that Donald Trump is suffering from a severe case of that sociopathic personality defect. He simply cannot tolerate any diversion from total adulation.

Donald Trump Fox News

Consequently, it’s somewhat astonishing that Trump is so frequently upset with Fox News, the network that has made it their mission to advance the interests of Trump and his MAGA GOP movement. They have been so pernicious in their pursuit of pro-Trump propaganda that it cost them 3/4 of a billion dollars to back up his flagrant lies and political scams. Which they are still doing…

SEE THIS: Fox News is Still Pushing the Lie that the 2020 Election Was Stolen that Cost Them $787 Million

On Tuesday morning Trump headlined another one of his traveling salvation shows to shore up the devotion of his cult disciples. And in the process he delivered a punch to Fox News for failing in their duty to be 100% faithful to Dear Leader. Trump whined…

“You ever notice on Fox…They put me on, I do a great job. And then they follow me with a horrible commercial. I say what the hell is the good of me doing it if you’re…Roger Ailes never allowed bad commercials. What’s the purpose of me doing a nice show and then they put nine horrible commercials on, which are all lies.

“But when they put somebody on that’s good and then they always feel like they have to put somebody on who’s bad. So the net result is neutral. And you say ‘What are you doing it for? You can’t do that.’ Fox should put just the good people on. The people that want to make America great again. They shouldn’t put the guys that are professional scammers on.”

So Trump believes that a for-profit cable television network should refuse paid advertising if it isn’t unconditionally complementary to Trump. They should reject all ads by his political opponents. And if they don’t, there is no purpose in him gracing the network with his presence. Would he also support MSNBC refusing his ads?

But Trump goes even farther than that. He also believes that Fox News must not invite guest commentators, or interview politicians, who do not represent his point of view. They “should put just the good people on.” By which he means those who are unwaveringly loyal to him. He is arguing that Fox should maintain a radically partisan editorial policy. Which, despite Trump’s complaints, they pretty much already do.

It is interesting that Trump name-checks former Fox News CEO, Roger Ailes, as an exemplar of the reverential toadies that meet with his approval. Ailes was fired by Fox News for repeated sexual harassment. So Trump likely feels a sense of camaraderie with Ailes in that respect, along with his extreme far-right views.

However, Trump made an inadvertent slip with his demand that “They shouldn’t put the guys that are professional scammers on.” If Fox News complied with that, then Trump himself would be barred from appearances on the network. His entire public persona is a scam. He practices it with both his political ploys and his financial frauds.

Trump’s banishment from the airwaves, and politics, would be the single most effective anti-scam initiative in modern history at – in Trump lingo – a level that was never seen before. But not to worry, MAGA-nauts. Fox News will never willingly abandon their fuehrer. They have too much invested already.

Trump Rants Hysterically that Women are ‘Poor’ and ‘Depressed’ But that He Will Fix Everything

From the beginning of his misadventures in politics, Donald Trump has exalted himself as the panacea to all of life’s ills. He has insisted that only he could resolve the nation’s problems. He contends that all manner of misfortune – from inflation to the war in Ukraine – would never have happened were he in charge.

Donald Trump, Woman, Fear

Trump’s magical mystery revisionist history is evidence of the severity of the decay that has spread in his sickly cerebral cavity. Not only is he clueless about problem solving, he is often the cause of the problem itself. And in the end he manages to humiliate himself with astonishingly deranged commentaries.

SEE THIS: TRUMP IS TOAST: The Washington Post’s Laundry List of Trump’s Increasingly Bizarre Claims

On Saturday morning Trump provided some outstanding examples of his demented world view. On his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, Trump posted a couple of manic messages that ought to scare the bejeebus out of anyone with a remnant of rationality.

Trump began his tantrum describing the horrendous state of women in America, saying in part (and in all-caps) that…

“WOMEN ARE POORER THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE LESS HEALTHY THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE LESS SAFE ON THE STREETS THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, ARE MORE DEPRESSED AND UNHAPPY THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO, AND ARE LESS OPTIMISTIC AND CONFIDENT IN THE FUTURE THAN THEY WERE FOUR YEARS AGO! I WILL FIX ALL OF THAT, AND FAST, AND AT LONG LAST THIS NATIONAL NIGHTMARE WILL BE OVER. WOMEN WILL BE HAPPY, HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND FREE! YOU WILL NO LONGER BE THINKING ABOUT ABORTION.”

Who better than Trump to assess this “NIGHTMARE” that women are enduring? Are there no better authorities on the status of women than someone who was found liable for sexual harassment and been adjudicated a rapist? Not to mention the dozens of other accusations of sexual assault that have been levied against him.

And yet, Trump sees himself as the savior of women who can make them all “HAPPY, HEALTHY, CONFIDENT AND FREE!” If only they would shut their yaps and do what he tells them to do. Gawd forbid any of them ever challenge or disagree with him. They, of course, would be put in their place as “low IQ,” “birdbrains,” and/or “crazy.”

Trump’s second morning harangue was aimed the media that he refers to in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” He started out lambasting a familiar foe, Bill Maher, who he calls “a befuddled mess.” Then he turns to Maher’s guests, “‘dumb as a rock bimbo’ Stephanie Ruhle” and “Trump hating loser, Bret Stephens.”

Naturally, Trump’s insult of Ruhle is a misogynistic screed that further demonstrates his hatred of women. And his attack on conservative pundit Stephens includes a swipe at the New Times that he thinks he is driving crazy. He also repeats his false claim that the Times is “FAILING,” suggesting that they “put it to sleep.” For the record, the Times is doing a heck of a lot better than Trump’s own Truth Social…

This is the what Trump felt compelled to address with just over six weeks until Election Day. Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are crisscrossing the country, holding rallies in swing states and interacting with voters. Trump, meanwhile, is phoning in to MAGA friendly TV shows and podcasts, and visiting places (e.g. New York) where he can’t hope to get any votes worth mentioning.

Nevertheless, Trump still has time to post ditzy diatribes on Truth Social where no one will see them but his cult followers, and critics who find him pathetic and ripe for ridicule. It’s a brilliant campaign strategy that befits a “stable genius.”

UPDATE: Desi Lydic of The Daily Show has something to say about Trump’s promise to be the protector of women…
