For the past few months, Donald Trump has been signing off his Truth Social posts by saying “Thank you for your attention to this matter.” Setting aside the fact that he is misusing that phrase, which is usually intended to admonish lazy customer service reps, anyone who has actually been paying attention to Trump has observed his obsession with awarding himself a Nobel Peace Prize.

Trump’s egomaniacal fixations and malignant narcissism have naturally spread to his cult followers who glorify his every word and deed. The result has been a parade of Trump toadies seeking to regale him with all manner of honors and trophies, most of which were made up just for him. And nowhere is this more evident than on Fox News.

On Friday Fox News tied their Trump worship to his recently launched Middle East war mongering. In a segment discussing the justification for Trump going to war against Iran, they booked Julian Epstein (no, not that Epstein), a frequent guest on Fox News who fits the profile of a “Fox News Democrat” (i.e. an alleged Democrat who always bashes Democrats). Epstein wasted little time in slobbering all over Trump and declaring that…

“What I think Donald Trump is doing is, is heroic. I think if this is successful, it will be something that could qualify him once again for a Nobel Peace Prize.”

Of course. What better reason could there be to award the Nobel Peace Prize than the unprovoked military assault on a smaller country that they cavalierly accused of being an “imminent threat” with no evidence to back it up? Epstein even said that the U.S. “will be seen as liberators” in Iran. Which is chillingly reminiscent of Dick Cheney saying prior to George W. Bush attacking Iraq that “My belief is we will, in fact, be greeted as liberators.”

This isn’t the first time that Epstein has proposed that Trump get the Nobel Peace Prize, and for the same reason. Last year when Trump bombed Iran, supposedly “obliterating” all of their nuclear capabilities, Epstein posted this tweet…

Around the same time, Epstein’s proposal was taken up by Republicans in Congress. Sen. Bernie Moreno introduced a resolution for the Senate to formally nominate Trump for the Nobel. Moreno said that Trump deserved it because he had “just pulled off…peace in the Middle East with Iran’s nuclear arsenal decimated.” And also because of “his historic brokerage of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Iran.” An agreement that Trump appears to have obliterated, if it ever actually existed.

The manic compulsion by Epstein, Moreno, and Fox News to pay tribute to Trump is further proof that Trump is not the head of a political party. He is the Dear Leader of a pseudo-religious cult. And his disciples are devoted to exalting this modern day “Prince of Peace” at all times. What else should be expected for the man who appointed himself the Chairman of the “Board of Peace” that he created?

He has bombed eight foreign countries, removing the leaders of two of them. He has imposed inflationary tariffs that have raised the cost of living for all Americans. He has sent his StormTrumpers into U.S. cities to terrorize their citizens.

In fact, Trump deals with it so aggressively that he risks suffering a massive neurological disorder. In the past this has resulted in hostile hissy fits and flying ketchup bottles. Sound familiar? On Thursday morning Trump was especially perturbed. So he took to his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, to disgorge some of his uncontrollably escalating angst. However, he seemed to be unable to drum up anything but old grievances. So he used them to assuage his anxieties. For instance, Trump posted a link to an article that’s a month old bragging that…

Trump Pardoned 5 Former NFL Stars
The NFL players that Trump pardoned were convicted of various crimes ranging from perjury to drug trafficking. Which is more proof of his perverse commitment to law and order, wherein it never applies to the elite, the wealthy, or his political comrades.

Then there was Trump’s post linking another nearly month old article celebrating that a banner with his face on it was draped across the facade of the Justice Department headquarters…

Mortgage Rates Fall to Lowest Level Since 2022
Trump is boasting that he brought mortgage rates down from 6.09% to 6.01%. But as of March 5, 30-year fixed mortgage rates for home buying have gone back up to about 6.125% nationally.

Finally, Trump posted a comment urging his MAGA GOP sycophants in Congress to pass a voter suppression bill…

Clearly Trump is obsessed with trying to deflect the American people from all of the harm that he is currently imposing on the nation, and the world. And he is likely worried in particular about the dismal prospects for him the GOP in the upcoming midterm elections. So he is digging back in time for distractions. But even his distractions are examples of his own flagrantly harmful agenda. So he can’t blame anyone else for his problems. Although he will anyway. Just ask Kristi Noem, who he just fired as Secretary of Homeland Security.

If Trump thinks these tactics will make people forget his unsavory relationship with pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, or his war mongering in Iran, or his economic fiascos, or his assaults on peaceful protesters and free speech, or his persecution of journalists and the media, or his narcissistic renaming of everything for himself, or egomaniacal authoritarian aspirations, he is even sicker than we imagined. Which is really saying something.

UPDATE: Trump followed up the posts above on Friday with 13 more posts linking to stories from last month, including 8 (EIGHT!) separate posts complaining about his dinner with Bill Maher. So nah, Trump isn’t scared and triggered to the point of insanity at all, is he?

Pete Hegseth Callously Dismisses American Fatalities as the Press ‘Wanting to Make Trump Look Bad’

He has been resolutely averse to complying with federal law and the Constitution. He has refused to acknowledge the role of either Congress or the courts as co-equal branches of the American republic. And he has made it his mission to alienate America’s international allies, while embracing its sworn enemies.

This has been painfully apparent in the four days since Trump launched his reckless, unjustified, and illegal war against Iran. There has already been a tragic loss of life of American troops. Not to mention hundreds of innocent Iranians. And all because of Trump’s obsession with war mongering and desperate craving to be perceived as a macho man, despite his personal resume of cowardice and the weakness of envy.

Taking his cues from Trump, the Secretary of Toy Soldier War, Pete Hegseth, held a press harangue on Wednesday morning to provide his update on the regress of the Iran war, that nobody in the Republican Party or crony MAGA media will admit is a war. During his extending rant, Hegseth made his feelings known about both the fallen soldiers under his command and the media that reports on their fates. He whined that…

“This is what the fake news misses. We’ve taken control of Iran’s airspace and waterways without boots on the ground. We control their fate. But when a few drones get through or tragic things happen, it’s front page news. I get it, the press only wants to make the president look bad. But try for once to report the reality. The terms of this war will be set by us at every step.”

Notice that Hegseth himself refers to this as a war. Then he goes on to characterize the death of American troops as merely that “tragic things happen.” That’s true. Tragic things happen when incompetents whose prior experience was hosting weekend programs on Fox News are put in charge of massive military bureaucracies. But rather than taking responsibility for it, Hegseth blames the media for giving it the proper attention that fallen heroes deserve on the front pages and opening segments of their reporting.

However, to Hegseth, “reporting the reality” of these tragedies is just the media’s attempts “to make the president look bad.” Trust me…Trump doesn’t need any help from the media to look bad. But Hegseth is outraged because reporting that Americans have died in this regime’s war of choice and vanity can’t be spun as something positive for Dear Leader Trump.

Making matters worse, when Trump’s Propaganda Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, was asked about Hegseth’s callous remarks, she took the same position…

Kaitlan Collins of CNN: Given what Hegseth said this morning, is it the position of this administration that the press should not prominently cover the deaths of U.S. Service members?
Leavitt: No, it’s the position of this administration that the press in this room, and the press across the country, should accurately report on the success of operation Epic Fury and the damage it is doing to the rogue Iranian regime that has threatened the lives of every single American in this room. […]

The press does only want to make the president look bad. Especially you, and especially CNN […] You and your network know that you take every single thing that this administration says and tries to use it to make the president look bad. That is an objectable (sic) fact.

Leavitt personally insults Collins, while literally saying that the job of the press is to report only “the success of operation Epic Fury” (aka Epstein Fury), not the reality. Because the reality has the unfortunate, albeit accurate, side effect of hurting Trump’s objectively abysmal reputation. And she flagrantly lies that it’s a fact that “every single thing” the administration says is used by CNN to make him look bad. Has she never seen Scott Jennings, Ben Ferguson, Batya Ungar-Sargon, Ari Fleischer, and many more of CNN’s Trump-fluffers?

Leavitt conveniently fails to mention Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, where she spends more time than she does at her White House office. And Fox News has also been regurgitating the Trump regime’s talking points about Iran, while downplaying the bad news. For instance, Fox’s Emily Compagno recently gushed that Trump “is a president that does not take the loss of those six American lives lightly. He takes it with the gravitas it deserves.” For the record, here is the “gravitas” that Trump expresses for the loss of life…

It’s often an awkward convergence of people that have a naturally – and perhaps appropriately – averse relationship with one another.

The WHCD routinely invites the sitting President of the United States to be a guest every year. And every that Trump occupied the White House, he refused the invitation. Until now. After years of insulting and demeaning the media, Trump is going to sit down with those that he calls, in Stalinist terms, “the enemy of the people.” And his flagrant hostility to the free press is engraved in his psyche…

This year Trump announced on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that he would grace the dinner with his glorious presence for the first time as president. In his typical overly verbose babbling, he wrote that…

“The White House Correspondents Association has asked me, very nicely, to be the Honoree at this year’s Dinner, a long and storied tradition since it began in 1924, under then President Calvin Coolidge. In honor of our Nation’s 250th Birthday, and the fact that these ‘Correspondents’ now admit that I am truly one of the Greatest Presidents in the History of our Country, the G.O.A.T., according to many, it will be my Honor to accept their invitation, and work to make it the GREATEST, HOTTEST, and MOST SPECTACULAR DINNER, OF ANY KIND, EVER! Because the Press was extraordinarily bad to me, FAKE NEWS ALL, right from the beginning of my First Term, I boycotted the event, and never went as Honoree. However, I look forward to being with everyone this year. Hopefully, it will be something very Special. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

There’s a steaming pile of bullpucky in that ridiculous comment. Let’s begin with Trump’s claim that he was asked “to be the Honoree.” Nowhere in the White House Correspondents’ invitation did they ever say or imply that Trump would be the honoree. He was simply asked because he’s the president, just like every president before him.

Furthermore, Trump’s assertion that the “Correspondents’ now admit that I am truly one of the Greatest Presidents in the History of our Country,” is a figment of his overactive imagination. It’s highly unlikely that anyone in the WHCA has ever said anything close to that.

What’s more, Trump’s boast that his participation might make this year’s dinner “the GREATEST, HOTTEST, and MOST SPECTACULAR DINNER, OF ANY KIND, EVER!” is laughable. He made the same preposterous boast about his hosting of the Kennedy Center Honors, and his State of the Union, that turned out to be the lowest rated in a quarter of a century.

Of course, he managed to slip in his seething hatred of the media saying that “the Press was extraordinarily bad to me, FAKE NEWS ALL.” It wouldn’t take a mind reader to know that’s how Trump feels. Although, the WHCA also announced that their featured entertainer this year is mentalist Oz Pearlman, who they say “will offer a fascinating glimpse into what’s truly on the minds of Washington’s newsmakers.” That actually sounds kind of scary.

Perhaps one of the reasons that Trump boycotted the dinner for so long was what happened the last time he attended as a guest in 2011. That year Trump was the subject of mocking by President Barack Obama. He had jokes about Trump’s birther fixation, his background as a reality TV game show host, and his flaming narcissism. Trump was not amused. See for yourself.

It’s a bit of a stretch for the WHCA president this year, Weijia Jiang of CBS News, to say that this event will be “a dinner that celebrates the First Amendment. With Trump on the dais? And particularly after CBS has been acquired by the Trump-fluffing billionaires, David and Larry Ellison?

In past years the president in attendance delivered a speech before the dinner guests. Presumably Trump will do the same. And also presumably, it will be a rehashing of his standard cult rally address that is comprised mainly of insulting the media, attacking his political foes, exalting himself, and always lying about everything. Which should guarantee that the audience will tune out in droves.

His emotional stability has long been observed by psychiatric professionals who have written books about it, such as “The Dangerous Case of Donald Trump: 37 Psychiatrists and Mental Health Experts Assess a President.”

These flaws have never been more apparent than in Trump’s current declaration of war against Iran. It’s a war of choice for which he failed to get the constitutionally required consent of Congress, and for which he has conspicuously avoided providing any rational justification to the American people. To the contrary, he has offered up some weak and factually baseless assertations of Iran posing an “imminent threat.”

But that’s not all. Trump also suggested that he was motivated by a bizarre personal vengeance for what he believes were attempts by Iran to interfere with the 2020 presidential election. For the record, the only evidence to support that claim points to Iran and Russia interfering to help, not harm, Trump’s electoral prospects.

On Monday morning Trump added another conspiracy to the theoretical stew. During a press conference that he held ostensibly to give the American people his reasons for starting another war in the Middle East, Trump dropped this bombshell…

“I was very proud to have knocked out the Iran nuclear deal by president Barack Hussein Obama. That was a horrible, horrible, dangerous document. They would have had nuclear weapons three years ago. And they would have used them.”

So now Trump’s motivation can be simply described as Obama Envy. Or perhaps OCD (Obama Compulsive Disorder). It’s an acute malady that Trump has been suffering from for years.

Trump’s fixation on blaming Obama for everything is nothing new. And it’s always ridiculous in the extreme. However, in this matter he goes totally off the charts. What Trump is saying that he is proud of is that he tore up an agreement that the Obama administration had signed with Iran to end their nuclear aspirations. Iran was keeping in complete compliance with the agreement according to the independent International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). That is, until Trump ditched it.

Then Trump, the alleged author of “The Art of the Deal,” failed to make another deal, resulting in his decision to call out the Air Force to begin the bombing missions that have already killed hundreds of innocent Iranians and lost three American fighter jets.

Trump’s claim that Iran “would have had nuclear weapons three years ago. And they would have used them,” is a complete fabrication from his severely impaired cartoon brain. And it’s remarkable that anyone would take his babbling seriously, considering he’s the same guy who repeatedly – and incorrectly – predicted that Obama was going to start a war with Iran.

ACCORDING TO TRUMP: He predicted that President Obama would start a war with Iran…? To show how tough he is.? To get elected.? Because he couldn't negotiate.FOR THE RECORD: Obama never started a war with Iran. Instead, he got Iran to agree to end their nuclear weapons programs.

The only truth in these comments by Trump is that they expose his manic and relentless preoccupation with Obama. It’s fair to assume that this played a part in his wartime decision making. Along with his need to deflect from his unsavory relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and his hopes of juicing his historically abysmal polls, and perhaps as a predicate for his interfering with the upcoming midterm elections.

The one thing we can be certain of, is that it has nothing to do with any realistic threat from Iran. And a majority of the American people oppose his war mongering: “Overall, 59% of Americans disapprove of the initial decision to strike Iran, with 41% approving.” In short, Trump is by far the more imminent threat to America.

Trump’s Ego Takes Priority Over National Security in an Iran Team Meeting Photo that He Tweeted

Less than 48 hours after Donald Trump launched the United States into a new war in the Middle East, something he vowed not to do when he was running to reoccupy the White House, there is nothing but chaos and turmoil resulting from his reckless, illegal, and utterly unjustified act of war against Iran. It was a decision that was so profoundly lacking in purpose that even Trump was opposed to it (See the SNL video below).

In the after math of Trump’s warmongering adventurism, he sought to engage in some of his typical chest-thumping, self-exaltation. It isn’t enough for a malignant narcissist like Trump to strut around making bogus claims about how magnificent he thinks he is. He must also manufacture PR to exaggerate the details of his alleged accomplishments.

And so it is with regard to Trump’s war on Iran. In an attempt to portray himself as engaged and actively monitoring the U.S. mission that Trump’s Department of “War” calls “Epic Fury” (AKA “Epstein Fury“ as it serves as a deflection from Trump’s exploits with the notorious child sex trafficker), Trump’s White House tweeted a photo of him with his ersatz National Security team looking serious as they watched the progress of American troops deploying to Iran.

While the intent of this tweet was to cast Trump in the glow of a military hero, it actually revealed something much worse…

We can see in this photo that Trump didn’t think that it was necessary to return to the White House as he embarked on his wartime gaming. Rather, he remained at his luxurious Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach Florida, to playact as Commander-in-Chief. We can also see that he is in a room with curtains for walls, with all of the electronic devices exposed. This is a serious breach of security protocols.

This meeting ought to have taken place in the White House Situation room, or at least some other Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) that is designed to prevent unauthorized access, eavesdropping, and electronic surveillance. But those are inconveniences that Trump can’t be bothered with when he’s trying to pump up his grossly faltering public image. Never mind the potential for leaking confidential plans and analyses.

What’s more, Trump is bragging about his success in terminating the Ayatollah Khamenei, But that is a double-edged sword. Yes, Khamenei was a brutal tyrant and a sponsor of terrorism that the world is well rid of. But the assassination of foreign leaders is a violation of international law and specifically prohibited under the United Nations Charter. So Trump has not only broken the law (again), he is setting a precedent for offing heads of state that he may come to personally regret.

Further fluffing his supposed achievements, Trump is now saying that Iranian leaders “want to talk.” But Iran’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, the man expected to replace Khamenei, is vowing retribution against the “shameless Americans.” Which doesn’t sound much like talking.

When Donald Trump was running to reoccupy the White House in 2024, he made his promise not to start any new wars a key component of his campaign. He folded it into his otherwise vacant sloganeering to put “America First.” Which, by the way, was a slogan that he stole from early 20th century American fascists.

Undeterred by his own campaign pledge, Trump has now started a new war with Iran. He launched his war without seeking the consent of Congress, which he is required to do under Article I, Section 8, Clause 11 of the Constitution. You know, that legal thingy that Trump prefers to ignore. He also failed to provide any rational justification for the military action, other than a dubious claim of “imminent threat” for which he offered no factual basis. Not that he ever cared about facts for anything.

After already deploying airstrikes on Iranian targets, Trump posted a staged video on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, wherein he sought to explain why he broke the law and declared war on Iran. However, his explanation was a far cry from anything that could be described as coherent, or reasonable. Rather, it was an eight minute long rant about Iran being evil and his gloriousness in massacring a lot of innocent Iranians to achieve his tyrannical ends.

It wasn’t until many hours later that he provided what appears to be his real motivation for the warmongering. It came in another Truth Social posting that linked to an article in the far right Internet rag, “Just the News,” with the headline “Iran tried to interfere in 2020, 2024 elections to stop Trump, and now faces renewed war with United States.”

After bombing Iran without any justification or explanation to the American people – or the world – Trump posts this lie as his reason for doing it…

The actual article never presented a single fact that validated the headline. It was just a tediously long collection of innuendos and allegations by Trump flunkies. However, Trump posting this suggests that the actual reason that he went to war with Iran was because he is holding a grudge over what he believes was Iran’s attempts to harm his presidential prospects.

That would be in keeping with Trump’s still smoldering outrage over the 2020 election that he continues to lie was “rigged and stolen” from him by nefarious Democrats and their comrades in the fake news. Ever since he returned to power he has been persecuting those who he claims were responsible for his humiliating loss. Now he’s adding Iran to the cabal of conspirators who, in his pathological paranoia, he thinks were plotting against him. And of course, he has no evidence to support any of this nonsense.

Accusing Iran of interfering with the 2020 election (and 2024 too) is typical Trump. And it is no stretch to assume that he would take revenge on them if given the opportunity. At the same time, he has persistently excused Russia and his pal Vladimir Putin for actually interfering with those elections with documented proof of it.

Which just goes to show that Trump doesn’t need trivialities like proof, or rationality, or even sanity, to embrace the conspiracy theories that serve his interests. And if his interest is vengeance, then he will find a way to justify it to himself.

Although, there could be an entirely different reason for Trump starting this war with Iran. It could be another deflection on his part from his other scandals. For instance, his dreadful economy that is causing millions of Americans to suffer, and his unsavory relationship with child sex trafficker, Jeffrey Epstein. Is Trump just employing the old “wag the dog” tactic?

Originally they did it it to push conservative policies, but these days it’s mostly for the benefit of Donald Trump. On Thursday night’s episode of the Fox News version of a comedy show, Gutfeld, they invited Michele Tafoya, a former sports reporter and current Republican candidate for the Senate in Minnesota, to join their pitifully unfunny panel in a gangbang assault on California and its governor, Gavin Newsom. When it was Tafoya’s turn to fudge the facts, she really performed at a level of peak bullshittery, saying that…

“Almost 30 percent of Californians are homeless on any given night. 30 PERCENT! That is the largest margin by far.”

Needless to say, that comment is ridiculous, and worse, it’s profoundly stupid. It would mean that, given California’s population of 40 million, there would be 12 million homeless Californians, The actual number is about 187,000, or 0.47 percent of the state’s total population. So Tafoya is only off by about 6,300 percent. In fact, according to the Department of Housing and Urban Development, there are about 771,000 homeless nationwide. For the record:

“California’s homelessness plummeted in 2025 — with the largest drop in 15 years — according to preliminary data, due to Governor Newsom’s strategies to reduce homelessness, address encampments, and create shelter and support. […] While homelessness continued to increase nationwide, California reduced its unsheltered homeless population by an estimated 9%.”

In the Era of Trump the lies promulgated by Fox News face stiff competition from Trump himself. No one is more adept at spewing ludicrous lies than the current occupier of the White House. Trump can’t help himself. Even after being called out for obvious, provable lies, he persists in retelling them. Such as his deranged assertions that he won the 2020 election that was rigged. Or his hysterical claim that his failing economy is the best in U.S. history. Or his desperate attempts to avoid accountability for his affairs with child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. And with regard to the latter, Fox News isn’t giving in.

On Friday’s episode of “Outnumbered” co-host Kayleigh McEnany, the White House press secretary during the first Trump administration, tried to absolve Trump of guilt for his unsavory relationship with Epstein. She falsely claimed that Trump had never been on Epstein’s plane, disgustingly known as the “Lolita Express.” But documented evidence proves that he did fly with Epstein multiple times.

What remains a mystery is how anyone can believe anything that either Trump or Fox News says. They have both been proven to be shameless, pathological liars. And the only explanation for why anyone would still trust them after all the times they have been exposed, is that IT’S A CULT! And the disciples are never going to question Dear Leader or his Ministry of Propaganda.

SO MUCH WINNING? Trump’s State of the Union Ratings Ranks Near the Bottom for the Past 25 Years

On Tuesday Donald Trump delivered what many are saying was the most unhinged, hostile, and lie-riddled State of the Union address (SOTU) that he – or anyone – has ever given. It was, therefore, a typical display of his acutely warped persona that is permanently set to eleven on the scale of presidential derangement.

Trump may have regarded this exercise in self-aggrandizement, infantile insults, and flagrant dishonesty, to be his best opportunity to reverse the downward trending of his presidency. Most polls show him at record lows for approval, and he is surely being eaten up by the fact that he is even trailing his arch nemesis, Joe Biden.

Now another metric of success that Trump regards as the most important of all is flashing bright red signals of disaster. His television ratings for the speech have come in near the bottom for all SOTU speeches for the past 25 years. According to the Hollywood Reporter…

“Trump’s 107-minute speech (the longest on record) drew about 27.8 million viewers across the seven most watched broadcast and cable outlets: ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, the Fox broadcast network, MS Now and NBC. That’s down by about 12 percent from 31.45 million viewers for those same networks for Trump’s address to Congress last year. […] Fox News led the way with 9.1 million viewers.”

The only years where Trump was not dead last were one for Biden in 2021 during COVID, and another for Biden in 2023 when inflation hit its peak at about 8%. Note that inflation at that time was higher worldwide than in the U.S., and that Biden brought it down to about 3% before his term ended. Whereupon his last SOTU rebounded to be higher than Trump again. Here are the numbers…

If Trump thinks that his lie-riddled, hostile State of the Union speech is going to boost his approval ratings, he is gonna be sorely disappointed. Followed by a massive meltdown and more totalitarian raving.CNN poll: "This was actually his least well-received speech."

For those of you who missed, or more likely deliberately avoided, the speech, Jimmy Kimmel has helpfully provided a summary version of it that should be all anyone would need. His “State of the Union in 60 Seconds” includes Trump insisting that there has just been “too much winning.” Which is not validated by the polls or ratings. We also see him shouting at the Democrats in the chamber that “These people are crazy.” It’s rather bizarre to see Trump heckling Democrats from the podium, while he whines about being heckled from the audience.

In conclusion, it’s safe to say that Republicans are headed for a massive blowout in November. Although, don’t let that make you work less diligently to topple Trump and his MAGA Republicans. If Democrats and other patriots stay committed, the result will be, in technical terms, that “TRUMP IS TOAST!” And America – and the world – will be all the better for it.

This week the news cycle was interrupted by the annual State of the Union address that is delivered by the president. And true to form, the current occupier of the White House, Donald Trump, unloaded a record long harangue that surely didn’t disappoint his glassy-eyed cult followers who hungered for more red meat hostility aimed at Democrats, women, foreigners, and the rest of the anti-Trump realists that they have been brainwashed to hate. It was nearly two hours of innumerable lies, insults, and shameless self-exaltations for imaginary accomplishments.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming. Trump’s SOTU speech is unlikely to move the needle on his historically abysmal disapproval ratings. So the attention of the American people is going to quickly return to the issues that they care most about, which Trump largely ignored in his speech. They include the economy and the high cost of living, immigration and Trump’s ICE thugs terrorizing them and their neighbors, and the horrific crimes committed by Trump and his confederates in association with Jeffrey Epstein.

To the dismay of Trump and his toadies, the Epstein scandal is not going to go away. Particularly if they keep trying to cover it up and/or sweep it under the rug. But that won’t stop them from trying. Leading the charge from Congress is the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer. On Wednesday morning he took up his usual post on Fox News to disseminate his partisan propaganda. And typically, he lied to Fox host Harris Faulkner about the key participants in the Epstein affair, and whether he intended to interview any Republicans.

“The truth of the matter is that about 85% of the people that were prominent who were involved with Epstein are, you know, Democrats. So we’re gonna continue to question whoever they are regardless of political party or political identification, but the fact of the matter is the majority of the people were Democrats.”

That is about as brazen a lie as he could possibly have manufactured. While there certainly are some Democrats who associated with Epstein, the vast majority of his creepy comrades, as exposed in the Trump-Epstein files and elsewhere, were Republicans or their GOP supporters. Despite this evidence that many more Republicans have fraternized with Epstein, Comer and his committee haven’t called a single one of them testify. He has, however, called Bill and Hillary Clinton, who have both agreed to be interviewed. What’s more, the Clintons have been forthright in their demands that all of the Trump-Epstein files be released. While Trump and Comer and the rest of the Republican pedophile protectors continue to obstruct the release.

If Comer were telling the truth, that 85% of those involved with Epstein were Democrats (he isn’t), then wouldn’t he and Trump and the Republicans have more incentive to release all of the files unredacted? Why are Democrats so fervently advocating for full transparency, while Republicans are opposed to it? What are they afraid of?

Perhaps it has something to do with all of the evidence that Trump’s relationship with Epstein included his participation in criminal activities. A new report reveals that Trump’s “Justice” Department is actively suppressing such evidence. According to NPR…

“The Justice Department has withheld some Epstein files related to allegations that President Trump sexually abused a minor, an NPR investigation finds. It also removed some documents from the public database where accusations against Jeffrey Epstein also mention Trump.

“Some files have not been made public despite a law mandating their release. These include what appear to be more than 50 pages of FBI interviews, as well as notes from conversations with a woman who accused Trump of sexual abuse decades ago when she was a minor.”

Democrats have been adamant that the Trump-Epstein files must be released. They are willing to let the chips fall where they may. But Republicans are determined to prevent that from happening. Partisans like Comer are abusing their power to shield Trump from accountability. And he isn’t shy about admitting it. He told Fox News that “Look, I support the president. I’m gonna do whatever the president wants.” Which doesn’t seem like something someone in charge of “Oversight” should be saying or doing.

James Comer is the MAGA GOP chair of the House Oversight Committee. Which he seems to think is the Committee for treating all of Trump's crimes as an oversight.The good news is that he's such an idiot that his partisan hearings invariably make himself and Trump look worse.
