Consequently, Trump is ramping up the hyperbole in his daily incoherent rants. He’s giving deranged speeches that consist mainly of infantile insults aimed at his perceived enemies, exaltations of himself for his vanity driven Capitol “beautification” projects, and dispensing lies pretty much every time he opens his mouth. Most of all, he is trying to malign Democrats as anti-American traitors, but his characterization of them as villains from 1950s comic books isn’t helping his own self image at all.

On Monday morning Trump dispatched his Propaganda Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, to her regular post on Fox News to assist his failing PR campaign. It doesn’t seem like she did much to help. But she gave it her all in attempting to advance Trump’s latest desperate effort to portray Democrats as communists. She engaged in the following exchange with Fox’s Lawrence Jones…

Leavitt: These are radical, Marxist ideas that have never worked in the history of the world. And I think that it’s a choice coming up between communism and common sense. That’s how the president views it. And that’s why Americans need to vote for this president and Republican Party and the common sense ideals that make this the greatest nation in the history of the world.
Jones: Do you think this helps the president and the Republican Party during the midterms that they have decided in this Democratic Socialist civil war that this is the new Democratic Party?
Leavitt: It certainly is.

This is yet another example of dimwitted, purposefully misleading, Republicans demonstrating that they have absolutely no idea what the definition of communism is. They just use the word as an all-purpose pejorative to frighten their equally ignorant cult followers. They might as well be warning about a pack of invading Sasquatch soldiers.

Leavitt and Trump and other hive-minded Republicans were triggered by recent primary victories by progressive Democrats. Some of them identify as Democratic Socialists, who are not communists. In fact, Democratic Socialists are in the mainstream of American politics that brought about things like Social Security, interstate highways, public libraries, Obamacare, and more of the most popular programs in the nation’s history.

What’s more, the GOP’s efforts to brand Democrats across the country as Socialists is small minded. The Democratic Party is big enough to embrace progressive Democrats in blue states and conservative Democrats in red and purple states. It isn’t one size fits all with blinded purity tests, like Republicans.

Communism, on the other hand, is a theory of government that proposes eliminating private ownership and placing the means of production in the control of the government. There is absolutely no Democrat who has supported anything even close to those ideas. Ironically, only Trump has advocated for those policies. And in office he has been exerting state power over previously independent institutions such as banking, defense, technology, transportation, and even the free press.

Trump has wielded that power by taking a role in corporate mergers, demanding multimillion dollar payments from corporations seeking government favors, and even forcing corporations to sell parts of the businesses to the government, or to him. It’s hard to tell if knows the difference. It’s as close to communism as any American president has ever come.

As for the media, while Trump has defunded public media such as PBS, NPR, and even Radio Free America, he has literally sued media conglomerates for billions of dollars, forcing them to either pay up or suffer retribution dished out by regulatory agencies over which he has assumed corrupt control. And too often they have acquiesced. Communist leaders like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un are watching with envy.

The closer we get to the midterms, the more brazen Trump is getting. Just this month he has posted comments on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, warning that…

“In a time when there is a powerful Communist Movement taking place in our Country, one more dangerous than World War I, World War II, Pearl Harbor, or September 11th.”

And that…

“I’d be the Greatest Communist in History. I’d give free rent, free houses, free food, everything is free. Unfortunately, after two or three years, the Country where this is taking place would fail. […] These are not social Dumocrats, these are hard core, godless Communists.”

So far, none of this is succeeding in improving Trump’s standing with the American people. Which means that, knowing Trump, we can expect him to continue to sharpen his attacks and make them even less comprehensible. And of course, he will lie and misrepresent reality to his MAGA cult at every opportunity. As an example of how far he will diverge from reality, Trump is claiming to have his “Highest Poll Numbers Ever.” No, really…

For the record…Trump's poll numbers at RECORD LOWS! But even worse, he's saying here that they are the highest ever "DESPITE" Iran not having a nuclear weapon??? Someone on his incompetent, asskissing staff needs to tell him that's backwards. And also untrue.

Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda – aka Fox News – is playing its part in these deceptions. But even they are finding it harder to maintain their composure when confronted with inconvenient truths by their own guests. For example, on Sunday morning conservative radio host Sid Rosenberg was invited to join the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends for what they thought would be a friendly chat about Trump’s “victorious” misadventures in Iran. It didn’t go well from the start, with co-host Griff Jenkins saying that…

“The way the administration sees it, and president Trump, is ‘We can go as long as we want. And ultimately finishing it for good is on the table.'”

What Jenkins was referring to was Trump’s recent genocidal threat that “Iran will no longer exist” if they violated the ceasefire agreement that Trump has already violated. But rather than getting the expected blind concurrence, Rosenberg went rogue, saying that…

“We can’t go for as long as we want. Clearly the gas prices are too high. Midterms are coming up. Look, let’s have an honest discussion about this…We haven’t won anything yet. I’m sorry Mr. President to break the news. But we haven’t won anything yet. There’s no end to this. We’re kind of in the same exact place we were a couple of months ago. They’re still striking us. We’re still striking them. Israel is still nervous. And quite frankly, American voters are still nervous. So how do you claim victory when the game is far from over? We’re in the 6th inning.”

The Fox Friends were visibly stunned into silence. They couldn’t refute Rosenberg, so they didn’t even bother to respond. Rosenberg went on to discuss how Trump keeps threatening Iran, but that they don’t care and are not being compelled to make any concessions. Rosenberg also noted that there is no actual deal, only a vague memorandum of understanding that promises Iran billions of dollars while committing them to nothing but opening the Strait of Hormuz, which was open before Trump started all of this.

This illustrates how hard it is for Fox News to keep up their propaganda. But they are nothing if not determined. Yesterday they interviewed White House deputy press secretary, Abigail Jackson, who rattled off some blatantly false talking points and the preposterous assertion that “Trump has been right about everything on Iran.”

If anything, they have become even more consistently dishonest as the years went by. Particularly since they adopted an obsequious affinity for the notoriously pathological liar, Donald Trump. And Trump’s deceit has grown exponentially with regard to his reckless and illegal war against Iran.

On Tuesday morning Trump posted a comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, bragging about his imaginary successes in his Middle East misadventures. He said that…

“19 Million Barrels of Oil flowed out of the Hormuz Strait yesterday, an all time RECORD. Oil prices are tumbling down, and the World is a much safer place!!!”

Virtually everything in that comment is untrue. Oil prices are still much higher than they were before the war. The oil is not flowing smoothly through the Hormuz Strait. And the world is hardly safer with Iran getting billions of dollars as a result of Trump’s “peace deal” that they are free to spend on new military equipment and funding for terrorists groups, but with few concessions on their part.

Shortly after Trump posted that comment, Fox News reported it on their X/Twitter account. They prefaced it by saying that “Trump is celebrating what he says was a record day for oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.”

Unfortunately for Fox News, their focus on Trump’s assertion about the “all time record” for oil flowing through the Strait got a fact check by the moderators on X/Twitter. A “community Note” was attached to the post that said simply that “Pre-war, 20 million barrels passed through the gulf each day, on average.”

So not only was it not a record, it didn’t even match the average for pre-war oil flow. Even worse, as reported by Fortune, “US Central Command said on Saturday that 17 million barrels had passed through Hormuz.” So even according to the military leadership under Trump, the oil flow was less than both average flow, and the lie that Trump told.

This is another example of the multilayered patchwork of lies by Trump and his MAGA media minions that have become routine. And when we add them to his lies about everything from the economy, to immigration, to his many tributes to himself (ballrooms, reflecting pools, triumphal arches, etc.) we end up with a compendium of concoctions that don’t come close to passing the smell test.

And yet, Trump’s cult continues to believe whatever he tells them. And his MAGA media continues to regurgitate what they know are flagrant falsehoods. But the good news is that the majority of the American people have seen through Trump’s deceptions and regularly dismiss them. Which is why his approval ratings are what are really in record territory, on the low side. November can’t come soon enough.

Fox News Reflecting Pool ‘Media Frenzy’ Story Features Trump as ‘MUSHROOM DICK MESSIAH’

They both make mentions of it nearly every day, mostly to praise Trump’s obviously inept management of the project.

In less than three weeks since Trump declared his “renovation” complete, the Reflecting Pool had devolved into a swampy mess of algae and peeling paint and coating materials. So after spending upwards of $14 million on the unnecessary undertaking, it is likely going to cost millions more to repair the damage that Trump caused. And in the meantime, Trump is blaming the problems, for which he was solely responsible, on imaginary vandals.

Making matters worse, Fox News is running stories on the Swamp Pool that make no sense at all. On an episode of Fox’s “Big Weekend Show,” They had a segment on what they called the “MEDIA OBSESSION,” over Trump’s miserable makeover. Their subtitle for the segment was “Reflection Pool Sends Far-Left Media Into a Frenzy.” And as a bonus, the video included a picture of a protester with a sign that read “”MUSHROOM DICK MESSIAH.”

No one with a rational perspective of Trump’s reoccupation of the White House will argue with the sentiment on the protester’s sign. However, everything else in the Fox News story was preposterous.

It is Trump who has been obsessed with the Reflection Pool and his “mutilization” (his word) of it. He has been bringing out a giant poster of the Pool during press avails, on totally unrelated matters, that show that the length of the Pool is greater than the height of several tall buildings. To which a sane observer would ask, “So what?” But he apparently thinks it’s important enough to interrupt discussions of everything from his illegal war against Iran (that he’s losing), to the state of the U.S. economy (that’s he’s wrecking).

In addition to putting the Pool con job front and center at every public event Trump attends, he is posting about it relentlessly on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. Among the comments he posted are baseless claims that vandals sabotaged the Pool, for which he doesn’t bother to provide any evidence. Bear in mind that there are dozens of cameras all around the Pool, so if there was any vandalism, there would be ample proof of it.

In another comment Trump asked “who would do such a thing? SICK, DERANGED PEOPLE!” And with a curious question mark also seemed to be asking “We will fix it?” And he also announced that “Many additional people have been arrested having to do with the disgraceful Vandalism of our beautiful Reflecting Pool.” Once again, there is zero evidence of that. But that hasn’t deterred Trump from threatening many years in prison for the mythical miscreants.

If anyone is truly interested in apprehending and punishing the person(s) responsible for defiling the Reflecting Pool, here is a tip: He currently resides and 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., although he spends quite a bit of time at a fancy resort in Palm Beach, Florida called Mar-a-Lago. Let’s see if the authorities can track down this malignant, anti-American perpetrator.

Trump’s ability to screw up anything that he is involved with is boundless. He even managed to turn his UFC cage match on the White House lawn into a debacle of epic proportions.

The latest catastrophe on Trump’s playlist is his so-called “renovation” of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. He spent upwards of $14 million on it, and in less than two weeks it has devolved into a swampy mess of algae and peeling paint.

True to form, Trump is genetically incapable of taking responsibility for anything. So he is trying desperately to blame this blunder on anyone else. This led to his manufacturing a claim that it was vandals – you know, “radical left lunatics” – who endeavored to destroy the perfect beautification effort that he had personally forged. He even said that the U.S. Park Police had arrested multiple suspected vandals, although there is no evidence of that.

In support of Trump’s contrived accusations, his U.S. Attorney for D.C., Jeanine Pirro, has announced that she is pursuing criminal charges against the imaginary vandals. And she is beginning with threats against a member of the media who dared to report on Trump’s Swamp Pool. Pirro was interviewed by Peter Doocy of Fox News Sunday morning…

Doocy: Trump has a crime-stoppers tip for you. He says “Lightweight ABC reporter Jonathan Karl was seen sticking his hand into the Pool and trying to rip the rubber off of the surface.” Is Jonathan Karl in trouble?
Pirro: Well, it depends. Anyone who is in a position of vandalizing or attempting to vandalize the Reflecting Pool will face the criminal justice system in D.C. The president has made it a priority to make D.C. not only safe, beautiful. And there are several citations that have been handed out to individuals, and these are cases that will be prosecuted to the full extent

Of course, Karl broke no law by demonstrating how the coating that Trump had applied was peeling off. Clearly Karl was not vandalizing anything. But Pirro leaves open the possibility that he could be prosecuted.

Pirro is adamant that she will prosecute anyone who vandalizes the Reflecting Pool. Never mind that there is zero evidence of any vandalization. Which is interesting because her boss has determined that anyone who storms Congress, destroys public property, and threatens the lives of representatives, gets a pardon and maybe millions of taxpayer dollars?

So according to Pirro, the seditionists who ransacked Congress and threatened to hang Mike Pence get a pass. But nonexistent Swamp Pool vandals will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This is the brand of justice practiced by Pirro, a former Fox News host who had not worked professionally in the law for twenty years when Trump plucked her up from Fox. And Pirro’s record as U.S. Attorney has been notably awful. As reported by CNN…

“The DC US attorney’s office under Jeanine Pirro has had an unusually low win rate in trials in Washington’s federal district court this year…In its first eight criminal trials this year, the DC US attorney’s office has won only half of them — far below the national average.”

Among the cases for which Pirro failed to win convictions, or even bring to trial, was one involving a Subway sandwich “terrorist” who threw a footlong at an ICE agent. She also wasn’t able to get a Grand Jury to indict a group of Democratic veterans serving in Congress, including Senators Mark Kelly and Elissa Slotkin, on charges of sedition because they lawfully reminded soldiers of their sworn duty not to obey illegal orders.

The American people will be comforted knowing that during the Trump administration Swamp Pool vandals will be harshly dealt with, while violent insurrectionists will get off scot free. And the same goes for billionaires who commit fraud. And the same goes for pedophiles associated with child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, including his best friend Donald Trump.

On Sunday morning Trump’s Secretary of War Crimes, Pete Hegseth, was interviewed on CBS News’ Face the Nation by Margaret Brennan. During their discussion Hegseth admitted something that totally contradicts what Trump has been lying about for years with regard to the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) negotiated by the Obama administration to halt Iran’s nuclear aspirations.

Hegseth: Obama begged Iran for a deal. We bombed Iran, and then put in a blockade…The document says Iran will never have a nuclear weapon, won’t seek one, won’t buy one, won’t have one.
Brennan: JCPOA said that too.
Hegseth: But they didn’t have the threat of military force the way that we do…and that’s why they’re at the table. The huge difference is we did this from a position of strength. Trump led with military might.

So Hegseth is actually conceding that the Obama deal secured Iran’s commitment to cease all of their nuclear weapons programs. That’s something that Trump has repeatedly said wasn’t true. Never mind that the very first paragraph of the JCPOA says that “Iran reaffirms that under no circumstances will Iran ever seek, develop or acquire any nuclear weapons.”

What Hegseth describes as the difference between the confirmed Obama deal and Trump’s more ambiguous and non-binding “Memorandum of Understanding” (MOU) is that Trump’s deal was obtained by military force and hyperbolic threats that TACO Trump kept reneging on. By contrast, Obama’s deal was secured through diplomacy, carried out by experienced negotiators, and verified by the independent International Atomic Energy Agency. None of which Trump’s team accomplished.

Hegseth implies that Trump’s hawkish warmongering is superior to Obama’s statesmanship, despite the fact that Obama got tangible results without spending billions of dollars and slaughtering thousands of innocent people. However, there are still no results whatsoever from Trump’s dealings after four months of a war that Trump said wouldn’t take more than a few days.

Meanwhile, Trump’s Homeland Security secretary, Markwayne Mullin, was also on the Sunday morning media circuit, On Fox News he praised Trump because “On his birthday he’s still working.” Then he specifies what Trump is “working” on. Was it the Iran deal that was supposed to be signed imminently? Or lowering costs for gas, groceries, housing, or healthcare? Or anything else that the American people actually want or need?

Nope. It’s his tacky and corrupt UFC birthday bash on the White House lawn. Because Trump’s priorities are squarely focused on what is most important – To him, and him alone!

UPDATE: According to Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in a comment posted on Twitter/X, “The Peace Deal between the United States of America and Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED.” and that “The official signing ceremony will be on Friday, 19 June.” So there is no signing Sunday as Trump said, and a lot can change in a week. So nobody should be confident that this will pan out.

Also, while Trump posted a giddy, celebratory confirmation on Truth Social, there is no confirmation from Iran, and no details on the terms of the deal or whether it is a binding agreement or just an MOU. Also, nothing indicates that the deal contains anything that wasn’t already in the Obama deal. But reports say that Iran will get billions more from Trump, including $300 billion in recovery/reconstruction funds, and have less stringent restrictions and monitoring.

The increasingly bad news for Donald Trump continues to spill out as his reckless and illegal war with Iran spirals out of control. In the past 24 hours Trump has whined that Iran isn’t capitulating quickly enough, but also that he has secured a complete peace agreement with Iran wherein the U.S. is getting everything it wants. They can’t both be true.

Even worse, the dementia of Trump is springing up with ever more frequency with each passing day. In addition to his routine dissemination of flagrant falsehoods and infantile insults, Trump is also having imaginary conversations that he relays to his official Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News. And Fox dutifully reports whatever Trump says without question.

On Thursday morning Trump did another one of his pajama phone-in interviews with the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends. during their discussion Trump revealed some juicy details of an alleged phone call he had with unnamed Iranian “officials.” Trump said that…

“Behind the scenes I will tell you – they won’t even dispute it, although they probably would because it makes sense – They’re very good at publicity, but they’re not good at fighting. They can’t believe the press they get. They can’t even believe it. And they told me. They said, ‘It’s amazing how well we’re doing in the papers.’ We’re not doing so well. They’re negotiating with us to make a deal.”

Virtually every conversation that Trump claims to have had with Iran was promptly disputed shortly after Trump made the claim. This one is unlikely to be any different. Why would Iran ever consider bragging to Trump about getting good press coverage? Where exactly is that coverage? And notice that Trump says in the same breath that Iran would not dispute it, and also that they would. Which point is trying to make?

Furthermore, Trump praises Iran’s PR prowess, but disparages their fighting ability. Even though Iran has held off Trump’s assault for four months now, when he said that this war would be over in a matter of days. And while the war is broadly opposed by huge majorities of the American people – dragging down Trump’s approval ratings and the Republican Party’s electoral prospects – Trump can’t seem to figure out any way to get out of it.

Earlier Trump claimed to have “dropped $250 million of bombs” on Iran (a number that he plucked from his demented brain that is fixated on his U.S. birthday bash). So while the American people are struggling financially, Trump is wasting hundreds of millions of dollars for no benefit. he could have built another ballroom for that.

Trump also said that Iranians had called him in the White House Situation Room last night asking him to stop the bombing (that hadn’t started yet). However, cell phones are strictly prohibited in the Situation Room. So that was another imaginary conversation.

Closing up the interview, Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt told Trump not to worry because “Our viewers are watching Fox. So they see this coverage. They’re not reading the New York Times “ Which is an unusually honest appraisal of the Fox News audience that is deeply indoctrinated into the Trump cult and oblivious to any other source of information. Especially information that is truthful and aligned with reality. It was nice of Earhardt to admit that.

Donald Trump once promised that if he was elected there would be so much winning that people would get sick of it. Well, he was partly right. He got elected, and people are sick. However, winning hasn’t been the catastrophe that he predicted.

Trump’s win/loss record is not exactly something to brag about. His economy is in the toilet. The Republican majority Congress just voted to rein in his war powers authority. His “weaponization” slush fund was ruled illegal in federal court. So were his inflationary tariffs. And his reckless and illegal war against Iran continues despite his relentless and impotent declarations of victory.

No wonder Trump is also losing badly in polls measuring the public’s approval of him, or more accurately, disapproval. He has been hitting new lows with nearly every new survey. And it isn’t just his repulsive persona that is dragging him down. His policies are broadly unpopular, including economics, foreign affairs, immigration, and his multitude of ego-boosting projects to pay tribute to himself.

On Friday, CNN’s data analyst, Harry Enten, revealed the results of a new poll that specifically surveyed rural voters. That’s a demographic that has been among the most reliable group of supporters for Trump. But that is clearly not the case anymore. According To Enten…

“There seems to be a rural revolt going on in this country against Donald Trump. According to Fox News he was easily winning them back in October 2024 versus Kamala Harris. Eighteen points ahead.

“But look at where he is now. Down there, underwater, underneath the cornfields. He’s now 14 points underwater. That’s an over 30 point switcheroo against the president of the United States.[…] He is 19 points underwater with rural voters on inflation. That is an over 50 point switcheroo. Rural voters, like the rest of the country, turning against Trump on the key issue that got him elected to a second term back in 2024.”.

That’s right! According to a poll by Trump’s official Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, America’s rural voters are – as Enten notes – “like the rest of the country, turning against Trump.” And with good reason. Trump’s war has resulted in increases in costs for vital necessities in rural communities, including gas and other energy, fertilizer, groceries, and healthcare which is suffering from the closure of many rural hospitals and clinics.

Meanwhile, Trump’s wars and incompetent diplomacy has alienated America’s trading partners and resulted in international markets for American agricultural products to collapse. Here at home, the rise in prices for those products has depressed domestic shoppers. In short, Trump is presiding over a perfect storm of economic adversity that touches the lives of every American. And those in rural communities are no exception.

Consequently, Trump’s political tribulations are only just beginning. He knows that he is facing an epic season of disaster in the upcoming midterm elections. So he’s pulling out all the stops to advance his crackpot conspiracy theories of voting fraud. And, as usual, he’s providing no evidence whatsoever.

However, unlike his previous episodes of derangement, Trump cannot blame it all on what he calls “radical, left, lunatics.” That’s a label he’ll have a hard time sticking onto red state farmers and ranchers. But never underestimate Trump’s ability to swerve into hypocrisy and blind, rage-filled hate and retribution. He has already lost support among Latino voters, and youth, and even non-MAGA Republicans. So rural voters could very well be the next target of his wrath. Anyone who crosses him is vulnerable. No one is immune.

Fox News, Lara Trump, My View

Saturday night Trump courageously exposed himself to a potential PR disaster by agreeing to be interviewed by the most intimidating inquisitor on Fox News, Lara Trump. Who just happens to also be his daughter-in-lawlessness. And that family connection is being actively exploited as Lara’s husband Eric is threatening to file a defamation lawsuit against Jen Psaki and MS NOW, Lara and Fox’s competition.

During the father/daughter-in-law interview, Trump dropped some juicy news bites. And as always, they were more revealing of his own personality disorders, than of anything derogatory he intended about his perceived enemies. What follows are a few of those nuggets of Trump’s dementia.

FIRST: For the umpteenth time Trump basked in the glory of how beloved he is as shown in a poll that doesn’t exist.

Despite incessantly insulting CNN as “fake news,” Trump made a point of praising their data analyst, Harry Enten, who had nothing to do with the NBC poll, other than to refer to it. He has also misrepresented the findings that showed Trump’s approval is only 66% among Republicans. So a third (31%) of his own party doesn’t approve of him. Also notable is the wretch-inducing painting in the background for this interview that took place in the White House foyer.

SECOND: Trump sought to display how knowledgeable he is about America’s voting processes.

Never mind that Trump got literally everything wrong. Of course, it isn’t the first time he’s done that. He recently claimed that if Jesus came down and counted the votes in California, he would have won the notoriously Democratic state.

THIRD: Trump’s dementia was on full display as he contradicted himself within seconds about his alleged successes in Iran.

Trump has been claiming to have totally obliterated Iran’s military since the first few days of his reckless and illegal war. And he has been promising that the war’s end is just days away. Which he has been promising for months.

FOURTH: Perhaps most bizarre is Trump’s proof that he is intellectually superior to us mere mortals.
He tells Lara that most people don’t know that the word “dumb” ends with a “B.” However, Trump watchers know that whenever he says something about what other people don’t know, it’s really something that he just learned himself.

Throughout this parade of pitiful pompousness, Lara never asked a single follow up question or challenged the obviously lies told by her sugardaddy-in-law. But as the host on Trump’s State TV Ministry of Propaganda, would would she?

Trump Freaks Out Over Kennedy Center Ruling – Gets Fluffed by Maria Bartiromo on Fox News

By now everyone knows how easy it is to trigger Donald Trump into doing or saying something profoundly stupid, or worse, manifestly harmful to the reputation and/or well being of the United States. As Hillary Clinton presciently warned nine years ago, “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.”

The inherent risks in coddling Trump’s flawed personality disorders have been witnessed repeatedly in his irrational overreactions to everything from Iran’s failure to submit to his toothless threats, to his demands that late night comedians like Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel be censored or banned from television. Even Fox News noticed that emotionally weak leaders should not be given destructive powers.

This week Trump’s psychological stability was challenged when a federal judge ruled that adding his name to the Kennedy Center was illegal and that he must remove it and cease plans to shut it down for unnecessary renovations. As reported by The Guardian…

“A judge on Friday ordered the removal of Donald Trump’s name from the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, ruling that the prestigious Washington DC venue cannot be renamed without an act of Congress…[US district judge Christopher] Cooper also temporarily blocked the center from closing this summer for proposed renovations, two months after Trump announced its two-year closure.”

Shortly after that ruling was announced, Trump took to his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, to plaintively cry about what a pathetic victim he is. The post was so long that it would be a monumental waste of time to read it. But it contained a few morsels of insight into just how demented Trump is.

Trump repeated the same or similar post three times within 24 hours. He used more than half of his harangue (385 out of 723 words) to attack the judge’s wife as “an anti Trump Hater.” He whined that “Unless I am free to do what I do better than anyone else…I have no interest in continuing what could only be a hopeless journey into “NEVER NEVER LAND.” And his ludicrous argument against the ruling was that “a large Board of some of the most distinguished people in the Country voted unanimously to put the name up. I didn’t do it, the Board did.”

For the record, Trump’s argument had not only already been rejected by the court, it is grossly dishonest. As was also reported by the The Guardian…

“Shortly after taking office last year, Trump sparked controversy when he appointed himself chair of the Kennedy Center’s board of trustees in February, calling it a ‘take-over’. He purged the board and replaced them with his own appointees. The board of the Kennedy Center then voted in favor of the proposal to add Trump’s name in December, culminating an aggressive effort of his administration to remake Washington’s arts and culture institutions to his liking.”

Not surprisingly, Fox News quickly leaped to Trump’s defense. Their official Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, who herself is a Trump appointee on the Center’s board, was outraged on his behalf. So she tweeted that…

“The board already approved the name change @kencen the way these judges go after @realDonaldTrump is absolutely sick and the history books will reveal how sick and un American they are -Grow Up & stop wasting everyone’s time on your politics.”

REALLY? Bartiromo is either lying (again), or is pitifully ignorant of the facts noted above. What’s more, she was cited multiple times for her flagrant lying in the defamation lawsuit that cost Fox News $787 million for lying about the 2020 presidential election being “rigged” by Dominion Software. That’s likely to be more prominent in history books than whatever she is complaining about now.

As for “wasting everyone’s time on politics,” what does she think Trump is doing with his relentless self-aggrandizing efforts to exalt himself at the Kennedy Center, as well as the Institute of Peace, his golden vanity ballroom, his triumphal arch, and his new proposal to put his scowling mug on a $250.00 bill? Which ironically would just remind people of what it costs to fill their tank, pay for housing, get health insurance, or buy groceries.

Bartiromo’s tweet just parroted Trump’s rant, including his claims about his Board of Flunkies and his attacks on the judge’s wife. She concluded by asking “Do they not realize [America] wants @realDonaldTrump to win?” Considering that Trump’s approval rating is sitting at record lows, you have to wonder what fantasy world she resides in?
