Trump’s War on Democracy Backfires Badly as ActBlue Donations Soar After His Lie-Riddled Rant

It’s another day that ends in “Y” and, therefore, it’s another day wherein Donald Trump affirms his abhorrent anti-Americanism in the nastiness manner that he can muster. Trump apparently is not satisfied with his already repugnant record of trashing the nation’s constitutional principles. So he is once again escalating his malevolence to new lows.

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

Unsatisfied with stomping on the rights of migrants to due process, or the rights of universities to academic freedom, or the rights of lawyers to practice, or the rights of journalists to report the truth, Trump is now threatening his political opponents with harassment and persecution from his grossly corrupt Department of Justice. Is it just his latest attempt to declare himself America’s first president-for-life?

On Sunday morning Trump posted yet another unhinged screed on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. This time he intended to disparage the Democratic fundraising website, ActBlue, with wholly unfounded allegations of election finance fraud. However, as usual, his tantrum was fueled by ignorance and loaded with lies. He began by passively ordering his Attorney Genuflect, Pam Bondi, to investigate Actblue…

“Hopefully ACTBLUE, the Democrats ILLEGAL SCAM used to raise money, including from not allowed ‘foreign contributions,’ is being looked at by authorities. The Dems only know how to win by CHEATING, something which they do better than any group or party in history.”

This is a thinly veiled instruction to Bondi to commence a meritless probe meant only to hobble the fundraising efforts of the Democratic Party. And it was jampacked with the familiar projection that Trump employs when he is trying to tarnish others with the sort of crimes that he engages in. He continued…

“But now, with their terrible policies and candidates, and with people like Crooked Adam Schiff, who demanded a full Pardon from Sleepy Joe, leading the way, it is almost impossible to reach their money goals. The USA is wise to these scoundrels and crooks.”

This is a bizarre Trumpian cocktail of wishful thinking and straight-up lies. Not only is ActBlue succeeding in its mission to help Democrats raise money, they are reaching new heights of success, partially thanks to Trump himself. As reported by The New Republic (TNR)…

“The Trump administration’s decision to target ActBlue has instead resulted in the left-leaning platform’s biggest fundraising day of the year.”

And as for Trump’s charge that ActBlue was taking in improper foreign donations, TNR reports that…

“Conservatives have repeatedly claimed that ActBlue was acting as a conduit for foreign contributions. In December, an analysis of the fundraising network’s records by Republican Representative Bryan Steil not only failed to advance the theory but instead found proof that the platform’s automated program to reject donations from foreign nationals was working effectively.”

Furthermore, Politico reported that…

“‘ActBlue raised $400 million in the first three months of 2025 alone, the biggest fundraising total in the first quarter of a non-presidential or midterm election year ever,’ the organization said.”

So thanks for the funding boost, Donnie. In closing, Trump took a wild swing at one of his favorite targets, Sen Adam Schiff…

“Also, why did the Auto Pen give Schiff a Pardon? Biden knew nothing about it. Who operated the Auto Pen? That is the biggest question being asked in D.C. They almost destroyed our Country. They should all be in jail!!!”

Setting aside Trump’s childish insults, Trump asks why Biden gave a Schiff a pardon. But he actually answers his own question when he adds emphatically, and without any evidence of wrongdoing, that “They should all be in jail!!!” Yeah, that’s exactly why Biden gave pardons to Schiff and the other members of the House Committee to Investigate the January 6th Insurrection. Because a rabidly vengeful Trump has been dead set on persecuting them and has even accused them of “treason.”

Trump’s attack on ActBlue is nothing less than an effort to rig the upcoming elections in 2026 and 2028. He would like to starve the Democratic Party of funds to mount a campaign. But his glassy-eyed rage is turning out to be working against him. The American people recognize the hideousness of Trump’s aspirations to autocracy, and they are not going to stand for it.

Is This a Joke? Trump’s Attorney Genuflect, Pam Bondi, Tells Fox News ‘No One Is Above the Law’

One of the most chronic complaints of Donald Trump and his cult cabal has been his assertion that there has been a “weaponization” of government, particularly with regard to the Justice Department. His feelings on this subject are surely driven by the fact that he has been the most criminally active president in history, with a rap sheet longer than mobster Al Capone’s. Which, for some reason, he likes to brag about.

However, the only real evidence of such weaponization actually comes from the Trump administration itself. From the outset of his reoccupation of the White House, Trump has embarked on mission of malevolence aimed at all manner of civil servants, but especially the judiciary.

On Friday morning there was a chilling example of this malignant behavior in a report that Trump’s FBI had arrested a sitting judge in Wisconsin on charges of obstructing justice by allegedly helping an illegal immigrant evade arrest. The charge is a typically specious exercise in the fascistic philosophy that permeates everything that Trump and his cronies are doing.

True to form, whenever there is a crisis connected to the Trump regime, he dispatches his subordinates to Fox News. Many of them spend more time on Fox than they do in their offices doing their jobs. That may actually be a blessing in disguise. In this case, it was Attorney Genuflect, Pam Bondi, who took her place on the Fox News pedestal to deliver her propaganda pitch to Fox hosts John Roberts and Sandra Smith. She began by insulting the whole of the judicial system…

Bondi: What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me.
Smith: When the American public hears this and they think these were once outstanding people in their communities, and their professions, and they put it on the line for this. Have you dug into their motive? What inspired them to carry out these acts and harbor criminals?
Bondi: They’re deranged is all I can think of. I cannot believe… I think that some of these judges think they are beyond and above the law. And they are not. And we’re sending a very strong message today, if you are harboring a fugitive, we don’t care who you are. If you’re helping hide one, if you’re giving a TdA [Tren de Aragua gang] member guns, anyone who is illegally in this country, we will come after you and prosecute you. We’ll find you.

Bondi declares war on the courts: "What has happened to our judiciary is beyond me … they are deranged … we are sending a very strong message today … we will come after you and we will prosecute you. We will find you."

Notice that Smith openly takes Bondi’s side, expressing her horror that this judge would put her reputation on the line, and falsely stating as a matter of fact that the judge was harboring criminals. To which Bondi replied that the only explanation for such behavior was that the judge is “deranged.” That is not a legal argument. It is a childish insult that reveals Bondi’s legal ineptitude. She also throws in an extraneous reference to someone giving guns to gang members, which no one has even hinted at. But this was just the beginning. They went on…

Roberts: Very significant development that you’re arresting judges now. Now it could be that the judges engaged in some terribly bad behavior and deserve to be arrested. But you know what critics will say. That this is the government that is expanding the powers of Article 1 of the Constitution, now they’re arresting judges. How do you respond to that?
Bondi: No one is above the law. No one is above the law in this country. And if you are destroying evidence, if you are obstructing justice, if you have victims sitting a courtroom of domestic violence, and you’re escorting a criminal defendant out a back door, it will not be tolerated. It is a crime in the United States of America. It doesn’t matter who you are. You are going to be prosecuted.”

ROBERTS: Critics will say this is the government expanding the powers of Article 1 of the Constitution, now they're arresting judges. How do you respond?BONDI: Nobody is above the law

How any credible journalist could listen to that response and not break out in hysterical laughter is hard to fathom. Although Fox News need not worry about that because they don’t employ any credible journalists.

Bondi’s clinging to the notion that “no one is above the law” is hypocritical in the extreme. Her boss, Trump, has literally been adjudicated to be above the law by the right-wing members of the Supreme Court who ruled that he has immunity for official acts, which they seem to define as anything that he says is official.

Meanwhile, Trump has 34 pending felony convictions for which he has not been sentenced. There are 54 more felony charges for which he has not been tried. And he continues to rack up more criminal acts, such his shuttering independent government agencies over which he has no jurisdiction. And his firing of thousands of employees without complying with the legal prerequisites to do so. And his deportations of people without providing the due process that the law demands. And his refusing to obey federal court orders and injunctions.

But other than that, no one is above the law. Well, except for all the MAGA politicians who break the law with impunity. And all of Trump’s oligarch pals who get away with flagrant financial crimes. And about 1,500 violent insurrections who stormed the Capitol in an attempt to undermine democracy, and put 140 police officers in the hospital, who all got presidential pardons. And that is not the just the opinion of some random “radical left lunatic,” as Trump likes to call all of his critics. It’s the results of a new poll by Fox News.

After several weeks of epically abhorrent fiascos, Trump’s approval rating has descended to new lows. His attacks on lawyers, universities, and of course, the media, only serve to expose his desperation. He is now getting failing grades on virtually every issue that he campaigned on. Although, it’s not as if he hasn’t been scraping the bottom of that barrel for some time.

A new Fox News poll confirms the crash of the Corruptor-in-Chief. Overall, Trump’s job approval clocks in at 44%.” His disapproval is at 55%. These numbers are notably worse than Presidents Biden, Obama, Bush, and even himself in his first term. The Fox News reporting on its poll led off on a positive note, but then quickly slid off a cliff…

“President Trump receives his best marks on border security, as a 55% majority approves. That’s the only issue where his ratings are in positive territory. On immigration, a record high of 47% approve of Trump (48% disapprove), while a new low of 38% approve on the economy (56% disapprove). His worst ratings are on inflation (33% approve, 59% disapprove), followed by tariffs (33-58%), foreign policy (40-54%), taxes (38-53%), and guns (41-44%).”

To no one’s surprise, this survey triggered a predictable tantrum from Trump on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. He lashed out petulantly at his longtime media benefactor, Rupert Murdoch, saying that…

“Rupert Murdoch has told me for years that he is going to get rid of his FoxNews, Trump Hating, Fake Pollster, but he has never done so. This ‘pollster’ has gotten me, and MAGA, wrong for years. Also, and while he’s at it, he should start making changes at the China Loving Wall Street Journal. It sucks!!!”

So Trump is not only blasting Fox News as a disseminator of “fake news,” he’s accusing Murdoch of lying to him “for years” about ditching the pollster that has actually been surprisingly accurate. And he threw in a shot at Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal for kicks. Probably because the Journal’s Editorial Board recently wrote that Trump was waging “The Dumbest Trade War in History.”

Making matters worse, was what Steve Doocy said on Fox and Friends. He began by saying that Trump is “softening his stance on China.” While he characterized that weakness as positive, he elaborated by giving the Fox News viewers some information that was likely to cause them some emotional distress…

“Tariffs are unpopular with the American public. 72% say that the tariffs are making things more expensive. 55% say that they are hurting the economy. And 44% say they are hurting jobs. And when it comes to one other number, when you look at the S&P 500, it has gotten off to the worst start of any presidency going back to 1928, which is when they started keeping records.”

But not to worry, co-host Ainsley Earhardt (Sean Hannity’s girlfriend), chimed in to salve the wounds caused by Doocy’s brief detour into reality, saying that…

“The administration is saying that these projections are fluid, there are several options on the table. The president yesterday, he was out on the White House lawn, he was out there to find a good location to erect this new huge American flag.”

See? Everything is gonna be okay. The cost of living is rising to new heights. Everything from groceries, to gas, to rent, to appliances, to cars, and more, will be more expensive, for no reason other than Trump’s ego and ignorance. But at least we’ll have a giant, useless flag decorating the White House (which already has one on its roof) to wave at and salute on the way to the poorhouse. Good times! And so much winning.

Trump’s Press Secretary Takes Questions From a Russian Funded MAGA Podcaster in the WH Press Room

From the very first day that Donald Trump entered politics, he has been an avid opponent of the free press and the Constitution’s First Amendment. He frequently refers to the media in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people.” And whenever he is confronted by a reporter whose inquiries are less than worshipful, Trump responds by insulting the reporter and dodging the question.

So naturally Trump’s White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, devotedly reflects Trump’s heinous animosity toward the press. In the few short weeks since he began his second occupation of the White House, Leavitt has reshaped the press room into a propaganda factory whose purpose is to advance the lies of Dear Leader, rather than to inform the American people.

On Tuesday Leavitt opened her press briefing session by recognizing a notoriously repugnant character who would be more at home in the Kremlin’s press briefing room than this one in the White House. Tim Pool is an ultra-conservative MAGA proselytizer whos dispenses some of the most bizarre conspiracy theories and hate mongering that the right-wing has produced. But in the Trump White House he has a seat in the press briefing room and gets the first question. Which went like this…

“Many of these organizations that are represented in this room have marched in lockstep on false narratives, such as the ‘very fine people’ hoax, the ‘Covington smear,’ and now what’s being called the ‘Maryland man’ hoax. Where an MS-13 gang member, adjudicated by 2 different judges I believe, is just simply being referred to as a “Maryland man” over and over again.

Now, in an effort from the White House to expand access to new companies, you’ve created this New Media Seat. So I’m wondering if you can comment on – following this expansion, you’ve had numerous outlets disparage the companies that you’ve had sit here, as well as the reporters, I’m wonder if you can comment on that unprofessional behavior, as well as elaborate on if there’s any plans to expand access to new companies.

To summarize, Pool is asking Leavitt why credible journalists are being so darn mean to the bullshit spewers, like Pool, that she has installed in order to prevent any real questions from being asked by professional reporters. And he prefaced his ludicrous question with a stream of crackpot complaints about accurate reporting that he called hoaxes. To this Leavitt replied…

“Sure. Well, we certainly welcome diverse viewpoints in this room. Which is one of the reasons we have you in here. And there’s many new faces in this room in comparison to the previous administration. We wanna welcome all these points into this room. We welcome unbiased journalists who really care about the truth and the facts and accuracy. And you rightfully pointed out the ‘Maryland man’ story.”

REALLY? So Leavitt regards Pool as an “unbiased journalist” who she welcomes into the room because he “cares about the truth and the facts and accuracy?” This would be a good time to take a look at Pool’s record of “diverse viewpoints.” For instance, it was recently revealed that he was the recipient of hundreds of thousands of dollars from Russian state media to produce anti-American propaganda…

“Podcaster Tim Pool was one of six conservative influencers featured by Tenet Media, a Tennessee-based company that was secretly funded by Russian state media employees, according to a criminal indictment filed in September.

“The indictment charged two Russian media executives with allegedly funneling $10 million to Tenet, whose personalities were paid to ‘amplify domestic divisions in the United States’ by parroting Kremlin talking points on immigration, inflation and foreign policy, according to the Department of Justice. […] Pool earned $100,000 per episode for a weekly show he hosted.”

That’s the caliber of “unbiased journalist” that Leavitt has been introducing into the White House press room. While simultaneously she has been banishing respected media organizations like the Associated Press. And the result has been a plethora of preposterous questions from the MAGA goon squad.

Pool is certainly earning his pay by posing questions that are mostly rabidly biased statements, and pushing the propaganda that is mandated by both Trump and his BFF, Vladimir Putin. Fox News Observes Easter By Celebrating the Resurrection of… Donald Trump?

On every Christian holiday, Fox News devotes much of their programming to the worshipful evangelism of that one religious sect, while conspicuously ignoring all others, even though Passover and Ramadan fall around the same time. And their unique homage to their favored faith always places a special significance on their Dear Leader Donald Trump. It’s a profoundly hypocritical brand of piety considering that Trump is indisputably the most flagrantly faithless person to ever occupy the White House.

Donald Trump Messiah

Trump’s ignorance of – and actual animosity toward – religion is evident every time he deigns to mention it. And he only mentions it when he has something personal to gain by doing so. It’s not as if Trump sincerely follows the tenets of his alleged religion. After all, he famously declared his messiah-like infallibility saying, “Why do I have to repent? Why do I have to ask for forgiveness if you’re not making mistakes?”

Trump’s entire public life is antithetical to everything that the biblical Jesus stands for. He and his Republican Party oppose healthcare for the sick. They despise refugees (such as Jesus). He has committed adultery against all three of his wives. He’s a pathological liar. He embraces billionaires and has no empathy for the poor. He frequently expresses his hatred for his fellow Americans on religious holidays. And he has literally and unrepentantly violated all of the seven deadly sins: pride, greed, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath, and sloth.

So naturally Fox News regards Trump as the Second Coming of the messiah who can do no wrong and will be the savior of America and all of humanity. And to illustrate that point, the “Curvy Couch” potatoes of Fox and Friends did a segment this Easter weekend that was intended to show how their revered cult master in the White House was “putting faith front and center.” Co-host Emily Compagno said that…

“For so many Americans that felt persecuted under the prior administration, were prosecuted under the prior administration for daring to protest abortion; for daring to speak freely; for being put on watch lists by the FBI for worshipping at Latin mass.

“What a breath of fresh air. And I think the restoration of this just goes to show too, when we talk about the overwhelming success that Donald Trump had at the ballot box. Seventy-six million Americans said ‘Not any more. We want someone to be the voice for us. That actually sees and represents us.'”

It is notable that nowhere in Comapgno’s remarks did she present any evidence that Trump was “putting faith front and center.” In fact, she never even mentioned Jesus or Christianity. To the contrary, she spoke only about Trump. Which, in her defense, is the MAGA savior.

Compagno also listed some of what she believes were persecutions of Christians. All of which were blatant distortions or outright lies. And she disgorged utter nonsense about Trump’s alleged “overwhelming success” in the last election, which he won by one of the narrowest margins (1.5%) in modern times. She doesn’t bother to reveal that he actually got a minority of all the votes cast.

The fact that Compagno mangled reality in order to hail Dear Leader Trump as the “voice for us,” rather than the Son of God whom she supposedly worships, is telling. Particularly on this Easter when Trump has announced that he is going to turn the White House itself into a vehicle for bribes. He’s soliciting corporate sponsors for this year’s annual Easter Egg Hunt. Which is, of course, illegal. Although, perhaps it’s necessary due to the much higher cost of eggs under Trump’s “leadership.” Even so, Jesus would very likely have overturned the tables in Trump’s Easter Den of Iniquity.

And on Easter Sunday…

Trump's posts an Easter message to "Radical Left Lunatics" and "WEAK and INEFFECTIVE Judges," and everyone he hates. Because that's what he thinks Easter is all about.He goes on to attack President Biden and whine about the 2020 election that he continues to lie was "rigged and stolen" from him.

White House ‘Corrects’ a New York Times Headline – Winds Up Affirming Trump’s Contempt of Court

The second occupation of the White House by Donald Trump has proven to be far more destructive of the laws and principles of the United States and its Constitution than even the most pessimistic prognosticators imagined. And exacerbating the damage done is the fact that Trump routinely makes matters worse when he is confronted with his offenses.

That was demonstrated this week when Sen. Chris Van Hollen travelled to El Salvador to arrange a meeting with his Maryland constituent, Kilmar Abrego Garcia, who was abducted by Trump’s thugs and carted off to a gulag in El Salvador without the due process that everyone is entitled to in the American justice system. Garcia has also suffered the defamatory abuse of Trump’s MAGA media propagandists.

After first being refused, Van Hollen was eventually permitted to see Abrego Garcia and ascertain his welfare and treatment while in custody. The meeting was a significant step forward to what should be Abrego Garcia’s release, and it was widely reported in the U.S. press.

Among the media that posted stories about the meeting was the New York Times. Their headline accurately stated that “Senator Meets With Wrongly Deported Maryland Man in El Salvador.” And that honesty was taken as some sort of challenge by the Trump administration to pile on with more lies and callous disregard for human rights. The White House posted the following…

Thanks White House hack, for providing this additional proof that Trump is in Contempt of Court for non-compliance with a court order to facilitate the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia from El Salvador.

You really have to wonder just how severely disturbed one has to be to get on Trump’s White House staff. This attempt to mock what is a profoundly gross violation of international law and human rights is not only repulsive, it actually harms Trump’s already weak arguments for having deported Abrego Garcia, and for maintaining his incarceration. Trump’s White House is actually affirming that he is deliberately in Contempt of Court.

For starters, they crossed out the word “Wrongly,” which contradicts their own admission that Abrego Garcia’s deportation was the result of “an administrative error.”

Secondly, they also crossed out the words “Maryland Man,” and replaced them with “MS-13 Illegal Alien. However, there is no evidence whatsoever that Abrego Garcia is, or ever was, affiliated with MS-13 or any other gang. Furthermore, in the 15 years that he has lived in the U.S. he has never been arrested or charged with any crime.

Finally, they added the words “Who’s Never Coming Back” to end of the headline, referring to their insistence that Trump and his administration have no intention bringing Abrego Garcia back home, despite the ruling by a federal court ordering his return, which was upheld 9-0 by the Supreme Court. That’s gonna come in handy when hearings are held to determine whether Trump should be held in Contempt of Court.

For his part, Trump took time off from golfing to address this matter with a comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, saying that Van Hollen “looked like a fool,” who was “begging for attention.” And for that Trump called him a “grandstander.” All of which proves that Trump is still the master of projection and is staring into a mirror when composing his insults of others. Has there ever been a more foolish, attention grabbing, grandstander than Trump?

Harvard Wouldn’t Kiss Trump’s As…er…Ring, So He Whines That They’re ‘Idiots and Birdbrains’

The reoccupation of the White House by Donald Trump is living up to his promise to be the “retribution” that he believes was due to the organizations and individuals who dared to criticize him and oppose his mission to subvert the Constitution and become America’s first dictator. In the few weeks since the inauguration, Trump has embarked on a non-stop revenge tour.

Trump’s infamously infantile behavior is on full display with his recent efforts to bring his perceived foes to heel. Among them are politicians, and scientists, and financial institutions, and law firms, and of course media companies.

Most recently Trump is attacking universities in order to coerce them into complying with his oppressive demands to reshape their faculty and curriculum into one that conforms to his MAGA doctrine. Some of those universities have already caved in to his threats. However, Harvard has taken a stand for academic freedom and the principles enshrined in America’s Constitution. In response to Trump’s orders to subjugate themselves to his fascistic vision of academia, Harvard steadfastly refused saying that…

“No government — regardless of which party is in power — should dictate what private universities can teach, whom they can admit and hire, and which areas of study and inquiry they can pursue.”

That noble stance was met with a predictably petulant tantrum by Trump on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. Trump put out a long and rambling rant that included some profoundly grotesque expressions of authoritarian tyranny. They included his severely disturbed griping that…

  • “Everyone knows that Harvard has ‘lost its way.'”
    Of course, everyone does not “know” any such thing. Harvard remains one of the most highly respected universities America and the world.
  • “Harvard has been hiring almost all woke, Radical Left, idiots and ‘birdbrains’ who are only capable of teaching FAILURE to students and so-called ‘future leaders.'”
    Harvard is well known to hire a broad spectrum of distinguished educators and administrators. When Trump speaks of idiots and birdbrains, he must be thinking about his family and/or his Cabinet.
  • “Many others, like these Leftist dopes, are teaching at Harvard, and because of that, Harvard can no longer be considered even a decent place of learning.”
    This comment is coming from the guy who famously said that he “loves the poorly educated.”
  • “Harvard is a JOKE, teaches Hate and Stupidity, and should no longer receive Federal Funds.”
    And speaking of jokes (and hate and stupidity), have you heard the one about Trump University, that was found to be liable for fraud and ordered to pay restitution of $25 million?

Trump’s misadventures in education would be funny if they weren’t so abhorrent and harmful to the institutions and students that they are targeting. He is mounting a campaign to neutralize some of America’s most vital resources in government, media, law, and academics. Like the totalitarian despots that he idolizes and seeks to emulate, he needs to have total control, and anyone that gets in his way is subject to be being steamrolled by his MAGA machine.

Fortunately, Trump is more bullshit than bulldozer. But that doesn’t mean that he can’t cause some damage in the interim. In the end, he won’t succeed in his evil endeavors. He will be brought down by his own arrogance and incompetence. And with each step he takes he plants the seeds of his own defeat.

Trump DHS Official on Fox News Likens Wrongly Deported Migrant, Abrego Garcia, to Osama Bin Laden

Last month the Donald Trump Immigration Squad captured and deported Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadorian national married to a U.S. citizen, with no criminal record, and deported him to El Salvador on the basis of wholly unfounded charges of criminal and gang activities. They later admitted that the deportation was a mistake caused by what they called an “administrative error.”

Abrego Garcia was sent to a notoriously brutal gulag in El Salvador and has been held incommunicado ever since. Efforts to free him have been met with a barrage of lies and insults, while Trump himself ridiculously claims that he has no power to effectuate a return. It’s typical of his dishonest proclamations made to his MAGA media mouthpieces who are only there to serve Dear Leader.

On Monday night a Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary, Tricia McLaughlin, was interviewed on Fox News by devoted Trump-fluffer Will Cain. In the course of their discussion McLaughlin made a grotesque and grossly inappropriate association between Abrego Garcia and Al Qaeda terrorist, Osama Bin Laden…

“The media would love for you to believe that this is a media darling, that he is just a Maryland father. Osama Bin Laden was also a father, and yet, he was not a good guy. And they actually are both terrorists. He should be in this El Salvador prison, a prison for terrorists, and I hope he will remain there.”

Seriously? There is no record whatsoever of any criminal acts or violence by Abrego Garcia. And the Trump factions haven’t presented a scintilla of evidence of any of their charges against him. So it is profoundly defamatory to make unqualified accusations of any kind, especially associating them with terrorist leaders who massacred thousands of innocent people.

McLaughlin’s lame attempt to tar Abrego Garcia with the barbarism of Bin Laden is preposterous in the extreme. She could have just as well said that Trump is a terrorist because he is also a father and is responsible for the deaths of more than a million Americans due to his deliberate downplaying of the COVID pandemic. She could even have drawn a connection between Trump and Hitler, because both sent innocent people that they didn’t like to prisons (aka concentration camps), without due process of law.

McLaughlin was not alone in making such chilling and un-American remarks. Trump’s press secretary, Karoline Leavitt addressed the Abrego Garcia matter on Tuesday in the White House press briefing room. She responded to a reporter’s question saying that…

“The Democrat and media outrage over the deportation of Abrego Garcia, an ms-13 El Salvadorian illegal alien criminal who has been hiding in Maryland, has been nothing short of despicable. Based on the sensationalism of many of the people in this room, you would think we deported a candidate for father of the year. That’s because, unfortunately, many in this country care more about this ‘Maryland father,’ illegal MS-13 gang member, than an American mother and American citizen who was brutally murdered at the hands of a different illegal alien.”

There is an abundance of derp in that statement. Let’s begin with the fact that Abrego Garcia was not “hiding” in Maryland. He had a family and a job and was a productive member of his community.

Leavitt went on to insult the reporters in the room by calling them “despicable” and engaging in “sensationalism,” simply because they pressed the administration to justify its treatment of a man for whom they had not provided any proof of the crimes that they alleged. And finally, Leavitt tried to connect the murdered mother to whom she referred with Abrego Garcia, who had nothing to do with that crime.

If anything is despicable about this, it’s the efforts by the Trump Propaganda Team to turn Abrego Garcia into a monster. They should immediately return him to his home and family. Then, if they have any evidence, they can present it to a court the way it’s done in America. Just making outlandish accusations with nothing to back then up is the sort of thing that is done in the totalitarian states, with autocratic tyrants, that Trump idolizes and seeks to emulate.

To those interested in some apt comparisons, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made one recently. And there is plenty of evidence to back it up. She was responding to the false accusations of Trump’s Propaganda Team that Abrego Garcia has a history of violence and sexual assault. You know who actually does have such a record? Donald Trump – with 34 felony convictions and dozens of allegations of sexual harassment and assault, including civil liability, with an adjudication that he’s a rapist, that resulted in a multimillion dollar judgment against him.

The road toward totalitarianism that Donald Trump has taken since he was reelected last November is becoming ever more clear with each day of his reoccupation of the White House. Despite being reprimanded and constrained by judicial injunctions, Trump continues to ignore the courts and forge his own unlawful path to satisfy his autocratic cravings.

Earlier this year, Trump acted out his aspirational dreams of being America’s first dictator by banning the Associated Press from presidential events because they refused to obey his petty and unconstitutional demand to refer to the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America. It was a blatant violation of the First Amendment’s protection of the free press.

Undaunted by the principles of press freedom and the rule of law, Trump has now defied a court ruling to allow the AP into his media avails. According to Mediaite…

“Despite a recent injunction reinstating access, an AP spokesperson confirmed their journalists were denied access to an Oval Office press event on Monday. ‘Our journalists were blocked from the Oval Office today. We expect the White House to restore AP’s participation in the pool as of today, as provided in the injunction order.’”

The AP is being extraordinarily naïve if they really expect Trump to comply with the law. He has already demonstrated his disrespect for law and order by refusing to comply with a judge’s ruling to facilitate the return of a Maryland father that Trump’s immigration regime unlawfully sent to a gulag in El Salvador.

As a result of Trump’s efforts to banish credible journalists from the White House press pool, we are seeing more questions like the one that Trump received on Monday about his recent physical examination. Brian Glenn, a “reporter” from the rabidly right-wing MAGA outlet, Real America’s Voice (and Marjorie Taylor Greene’s boyfriend), raised the subject with an adoring preface and a sickly sycophantic slant in the following exchange…

Reporter: You got a perfect health report. Everybody in the press wants to know this. How do you do it Mr President? … How do you stay so healthy? … How in the world do you do it? I’m 55 years old and I can’t keep up with you.
Trump: Because I enjoy what I’m doing […] Thank you. That’s a nice question. I like this guy!

HOLY SHIH TZU! Could this get any closer to parody? Why didn’t the reporter just ask why Trump is so handsome, smarter than Einstein, and better fit than an NFL quarterback? Which is not far from what Trump’s alleged physical report claimed. It says that he is 6’3″ and 224 pounds. Which is almost identical to that of Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs.

The question above was not the first of its kind. Last week a “reporter” from MyPillow’s Mike Lindell network asked…

“Trump looks healthier than ever before. I’m sure everybody in this room could agree. Is he working out with Bobby Kennedy and is he eating less McDonald’s?”

Are these reporters so infatuated with Trump that this is their way of asking him out on date? Notice that in both questions the reporter spoke for everyone else in the press pool, asserting that they all agree that Trump is a superior human specimen. However, most of the rest of the country doesn’t hold these perverse views. In fact, they are increasingly repulsed by Trump and his performance in office.

According to a new CBS News poll, “Most Americans recognize that the economy is getting worse.” Although there is a sharp partisan divide showing that 80% of Democrats say the economy is “bad” while 62% of Republicans say it’s “good.” Overall, Trump’s disapproval rating shot up to a majority 53% from 47% two short months ago.

What’s more, the percentage of Americans who say the economy is getting worse rose 11 points from 42% to 53% between November and March. And who is to blame for the worsening economy flipped in the past month from Biden by 4 point to Trump by 33 points – a 54% majority saying Trump is to blame.

Meanwhile, Trump continues to attack the media. His latest salvo is another swipe at CBS 60 Minutes over Sunday’s program that featured an interview of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, and a story about Greenland. Trump posted a rambling rant on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, saying that…

“I am so honored to be suing 60 Minutes, CBS Fake News, and Paramount, over their fraudulent, beyond recognition, reporting. They did everything possible to illegally elect Kamala, including completely and corruptly changing major answers to Interview questions.” [And that…]

“They should lose their license! Hopefully, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), as headed by its Highly Respected Chairman, Brendan Carr, will impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful and illegal behavior.”

This psychotic scrambled egghead is still obsessed with Kamala Harris. And he is imagining “unlawful and illegal behavior” where none exists. Over which he has given orders to his FCC chair to commence some sort of punitive proceedings. These are the acts of an aspiring authoritarian who seeks to muzzle the media and ship his critics off to foreign prisons. And if the American people don’t rise up to reject it, many of them may find themselves in the same boat.

Fox News is Already Downplaying Trump’s Unreleased Health Report Because Trump…Looks Great?

This week Donald Trump went to Walter Reed Medical Center for the first annual physical of his 2025 reoccupation of the white House. As usual, there has been nothing released about the results of the examination, except for what Trump told a reporter on Air Force One.

Trump in Bed, Eating, Sad

Trump’s account of his health was a predictably glowing example of a superior human specimen whose 78 year old body has another 78 prime years left in it. Never mind that he can barely navigate a slight inclined path or play nine holes without his golf cart. And that’s not even addressing his obvious and long-standing cognitive deficiencies.

On Friday’s episode of “The Five” on Fox News, co-host Jesse Watters demonstrated why he is widely known as the dumbest man on television. In a segment about Trump’s physical exam, Watters replied to his Fox colleague, Brian Kilmeade, with his hallmark derpitude…

Kilmeade: Do you think that Trump will grade high in his physical judging from what you can see?
Watters: Healthy as an ox. 6′ 6″, 195, the stamina of an Olympic athlete. We’re gonna get probably a vague statement, and that’s fine. I don’t want to know his health. I think he’s fine. I don’t need to know what pills he is taking or not taking. He looks great.”

It’s unusual for anyone on an alleged “news” network to embrace the withholding of information about government or its key personnel. Generally they will want full transparency and all the info that they can get their hands on. But Watters says that he’s “fine” with knowing nothing, or maybe just a “vague statement”

Why would Watters be so easily comforted with crumbs of data about Trump when he has regularly demanded so much more about Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, or any other Democratic politician? Apparently because he can tell by just looking at him that Trump is in peak physical condition. Consequently, if he actually has any acute medical problems, including brain functionality, that are not visible to his layman’s eyes, Watters couldn’t care less. Trump could be on high doses of psychoactive pharmaceuticals and Watters doesn’t even want to know.

For his part, Trump spoke to a reporter after his exam and told him that he “got every answer right,” on a cognitive test. This is a reprise of his infamous account of his supposed mental acuity because he was able to recite “person, woman, man, camera, tv” in a test that was not measuring IQ, but was a simple test given to people who were being evaluated for early signs of dementia. Then Trump went on to claim, contrary to observable evidence, that “I’m in very good shape. Good heart. Good soul. Very good soul.”

“Good soul”? Trump seems to believe that his annual physical includes a doctor’s examination of his spiritual essence. And that he got a divine endorsement despite his lifelong rejection of faith, his multiple failed marriages, pathological lying, boundless greed, deliberate mismanagement of a pandemic that killed more than a million Americans, separation and incarceration of migrant children, abandonment of Ukrainian allies, incitement of a deadly insurrection, and many more acts of blatant evil that are too numerous to enumerate.

The White House has said that Trump’s medical report from the physical will be released Sunday. But judging from the reliability of such promises in the past, it would be foolish to expect the report to made public any time soon. And when it is, we can expect it to be heavily redacted so that any honest or useful information will have already been removed.

And that will be fine with Jesse Watters, and everyone else at Fox News, who are content to know only what Dear Leader permits them to know. That’s how cults work.
