Trump Celebrates Bad News for American Workers, Because He Thinks it’s Good News for Him

On the last weekend before Election Day, candidates ordinarily try to leave voters with a positive impression that might seal the deal and motivate them to go to the polls. But it goes without saying that Donald Trump is anything but ordinary. His deal sealer was to give a blow job to a microphone (No, REALLY).

Donald Trump with sign: There's Nothing To Smile About

The repulsive behavior of Trump stopped being surprising years ago. But that doesn’t mean that it isn’t still nauseating to decent people who aren’t glassy-eyed cult disciples of the Orange Messiah. His words and deeds reflect the monstrous character (or lack thereof) that Trump presents on a daily basis. The Kamala Harris campaign recently captured the horror of Trump in a hilarious new ad.

Saturday morning Trump put on another one of his traveling salvation shows. In the critical swing state of North Carolina, Trump played his most grating hits for an audience of raptured rubes. However, on this occasion Trump added a bit about the just released jobs report for October. In that report there were only 12,000 jobs created, an unexpectedly low number. There was, however an explanation. During the month of October there were two devastating hurricanes, as well as a nationwide strike against Boeing.

Undeterred by pesky facts, Trump sought to take advantage of the lower than expected numbers. However, he did not merely take advantage, he reveled in them with conspicuous and sinister glee…

“The worst numbers I’ve ever seen. How good was that? To get those numbers four days before the vote was… Thank you very much, sir. Thank you, sir… But no, she gets those numbers – She gets the worst numbers I think like maybe sort of ever?

“How good was that?” He thinks that was good? For who? Trump obviously doesn’t give a whip about the American people. He’s thrilled that this report came out just prior to the election because he believes that it will help him to win. In fact, he has been rooting for the downfall of the nation for months, maligning it as “failing,” “a third world country,” “dirty,” “corrupt,” “a banana republic,” and most recently, “a garbage can.” Apparently Trump’s strategy for winning is to grossly insult the country and its citizens.

It is also notable that while cheering the low jobs numbers, Trump looked to the heavens to thank God. As if he believes that God answered his prayers for Americans to suffer so that he could resume his quest for Earthly power. It would be safe to assume that Trump is now praying for more hurricanes, earthquakes, locusts, or other natural disasters targeting blue precincts in swing states to prevent Democrats from voting. He thrives on the pain of his foes.

Finally, Trump’s assertion that the October numbers were “the worst numbers I think like maybe sort of ever,” was not only painfully infantile grammar. It was evidence of his pitifully poor memory. During his occupation of the White House, he presided over not just low gains, but huge losses. In fact he was responsible for the worst loss of jobs since the administration of Herbert Hoover.

The last thing America needs is a president who gets pleasure from the misfortune of Americans. Trump has always been solely focused on his own welfare. He would sell the nation out to its enemies in the blink of an eye if it brought him some profit personally or financially. And in the next few days we have the opportunity and the obligation to make sure that he never gets gets a chance to do that.
