Trump Throws Tantrum Over Judge Because She Was in the Same Sorority as Fed Governor Lisa Cook

The record for federal court cases involving Donald Trump reveals that he may be the biggest loser in litigation history. The Trump administration has frequently lost in federal courts when its policies are legally challenged. The cases range across a broad spectrum of issues, including immigration, tariffs, executive authority, and more.

Donald Trump, Biggest Loser

Just last May alone, Trump lost a massive 96% of rulings in federal district courts. And that isn’t counting the civil judgements against him for sexual abuse and financial fraud. Sometimes, even when he wins, he loses.

On Sunday Trump was performing what he seems to think is his most critical job as president: posting streams of ludicrous comments on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. Among them were a couple expressing his outrage over a challenge to his divine authority to fire anyone he wants, even if it’s illegal for him to do so.

The specific matter in this case is his attempt to fire Federal Reserve Board Member, Lisa Cook. The law does not permit him to fire Fed board members without cause, and he has none in this case, other than a wholly unproven allegation. After Cook filed her challenge, Trump fell off the deep end of sanity raging that

“This is a total Conflict of Interest. The Judge must RECUSE, IMMEDIATELY!!! President DJT”

What Trump was obliquely referring to was Judge Jia Cobb, who was assigned to the case in the Washington, D.C. District Court. And the conflict of interest that he is alleging is that Judge Cobb is a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority that published their support for Fed Board Gov. Cook, who is also Delta Sigma Theta sister. The sorority’s President, Cheryl W. Turner, released a statement in support of Cook saying in part that…

“Dr. Lisa D. Cook was vetted, confirmed, and is uniquely qualified to serve on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. Undermining her role is not just about one individual — it is a threat to the independence of the Federal Reserve and carries grave economic implications for families and communities.”

On the basis of his wafer thin whining, Trump believes that Judge Cobb is conflicted and cannot preside over the case. Which is pure nonsense. More than 350,000 women have been members of Delta Sigma Theta since its founding in 1913. Cook and Cobb attended different colleges (UC Berkeley and Harvard respectively), grew up in different states (Georgia and Ohio), fourteen years apart. And sorority’s are not political parties where everyone has the same ideology.

Trump’s proposed recusal rules would create judicial calendar chaos if every judge had to step aside just because they belonged to the same college social club as a litigant. What if they shared membership in Costco, or the Auto Club? Would Trump make the same demands for recusal of the grossly biased, pro-Trump judge, Aileen Cannon of Florida, because she was a member of the same sorority (Delta Delta Delta) as Trump’s Attorney Genuflect, Pam Bondi? Isn’t that also “a total Conflict of Interest” for which the Judge should have “RECUSED, IMMEDIATELY!!!”?

Trump also posted a second comment on this subject. He complained that Judge Cobb is the same judge assigned to a case involving Trump’s unlawful fast-track deportations that were found to have violated the 5th Amendment due process rights of migrants apprehended by Trump’s ICE thugs. He implied something untoward saying “Same Judge as on Fed Case. I wonder how that happened??? Must recuse!!!” But judges in the D.C. District Court are assigned randomly. Trump’s recusal demand here is no more valid than in his prior comment.

The bottom line is that Trump is notorious for whining about matters that he can’t control. And he manufactures grievances that exist only in his twisted mind. Which is precisely why his record in legal disputes is abysmal. His arguments are based on his psychotic delusions, rather than facts or the law.

Unfortunately, the only place he’s had any success is with the Supreme Court that he has managed to stacked in his favor. But the winning streak he has had there is unlikely to continue indefinitely. Eventually he will be held accountable under the legal precedent of FAFO!
