McCain’s response to Paris’ fromal ‘entry’ into the campaign reminds me of another little DISCONNECT between a Republican and Pop Culture:
Remember when Ronny Ray-Gun’s campaign actually contacted Bruce Springstein with a request to use his “Born In The USA” for their campaign theme? His response was something like, “Are you SURE? Have you listened to THE LYRICS?”
I do remember that. It seems that these Republicans have a little comprehension problem. I guess McCain thinks it is good to be compared to the Crypt Keeper.
Cowboy Bob, you might also recall that Ronny Ray Gun won a second term by a fairly decisive margin. So how sad is that? While the Republicans may be culturally tone deaf, they unfortunately have this uncanny way of winning elections. Which just goes to show that marketing works. A sad but well understood truth.
