Now that the midterm elections are over, and Democrats have come away with the spoils of an epic Blue Tidal Wave, the nation can move on to the next asinine calamity stirred up by Donald Trump. And one thing that we can count on with Trump is that he will always react with calm and reason to any conflict or adversity.

Oh, wait…Scratch that. It’s actually the complete opposite. Trump’s rancid, emotional, and irrational overreactions to even the slightest hint of hardship is his most predictable character flaw. Consequently, we can rely on him to unleash some way overblown bullshittery to reassure himself that he isn’t America’s Biggest Loser. Or maybe he will just accept the reality that he is a pariah and deport himself, as he recently promised.

On Saturday morning Trump was busy with what he regards as his presidential duties: posting inane comments on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. True to form, his raving was centered on the latest wound to his massive yet fragile ego, the election repudiation. Trump raged that…

“The Democrats are going around threatening a lot of people, including the Attorney General of the United States, and others, with Impeachment and many other forms of punishment, even though they admit they have no reason to do so, and there have been no impeachable acts committed, or even thought of, by the victims of this illegal process. This is extortion at the highest level, and they should be held accountable for this.”

Of course, Democrats have not been threatening anyone. They have only been stating their intentions to engage in standard congressional oversight and investigations. And that’s enough to terrify Trump. What’s more, Trump’s assertion that Democrats have “admit(ted) they have no reason” is straight out of his warped imagination.

Democrats have already identified numerous crimes and impeachable acts for which Trump could be charged. They range from his illegal war against Iran, to his defiance of court orders, to his many fraudulent schemes to enrich himself. But he was just getting started in his morning rant. He continued…

“Also, they’re threatening our Donors, some of the most respected people anywhere in the World, with imprisonment, and many other levels of punishment, just because they happen to be Republicans, or Republican supporters. This is Weaponization and Lawfare at another level.”

Once again, Democrats haven’t threatened anyone. What Trump is probably referring to are requests from Congress for information related to Trump’s vanity ballroom, for which he has admitted taking donations from conflicted people and corporations. That’s not a threat. It’s appropriate oversight by Congress. And Trump still had more rage to unload…

“The Senator from Michigan, Elissa Slotkin, is saying that she is going to go after all young people that believe in Republican Values, and that give even the slightest inclination to be a Republican.”

It goes without saying that Sen. Slotkin never did or said any of what Trump is asserting. It’s just another baseless allegation for which he provides no evidence, as usual. And then he closed saying that…

“The imprisonment should be against these EXTORTIONISTS, and Republicans should get smart, fast! Threatening letters have been sent to many people, all innocent, from Democrat Political Leaders. By copy of this statement, I am ordering the Department of Justice to look into this criminal act, immediately!”

It is typical of Trump to accuse his political foes of high crimes and misdemeanors for which he is actually guilty. And this is no exception. Trump is the one who regularly threatens Democrats with persecution and imprisonment for no reason other than that he despises them and the Constitution.

Furthermore, we see him here demanding that his Attorney Genuflect, Todd Blanche, initiate a witch hunt against unnamed Democrats for uncommitted crimes. And for good measure, Trump posted a second comment to bolster his threats of jail without trial or conviction…

“The threats being made by the Democrat Party against innocent Republican Donors and Party Members are absolutely unprecedented, and totally illegal…These SLEAZEBAGS should go to jail for what they are doing.”

For the record, Trump’s obsession with persecuting and imprisoning innocent Democrats is well established. Here are just a few of his prior threats…
