Donald Trump Gets His Birther Material From WorldNetDaily

The next time you hear Donald Trump spouting off nonsense about President Obama’s citizenship you should know from where he is acquiring his information.

Kendra Marr of Politico reports that Joseph Farah has been “on the phone with Donald Trump every day this week.” Farah is the publisher of WorldNetDaily, a fantastical compendium of demented disinformation and conspiracy theories. They are major sponsors of the Birther movement. They believe that Obama’s biography was ghostwritten by Bill Ayers. If there is a crazy story that reflects poorly on the President you can bet that WND is behind it. And if you question their journalistic credentials Farah will forthrightly declare that…

“Admittedly, we publish some misinformation by columnists, as does your publication and every other journal that contains opinion.”

Nice of him to be so honest. He is actually right about the fact that many news organizations publish opinions that are not factually vetted. However, most publications do not regard misinformation as an acceptable part of the news business, and the reputable ones will endeavor to make necessary corrections.

Farah seems to think it’s just business as usual. In his defense, if he had to correct every mistake or lie that appears on his site he wouldn’t have time to invent any new ones.

Trump is rapidly rising in my GOP presidential hopes primary. I have been rooting for a Palin/Steele ticket for quite a while, but now I think that Trump deserves some serious consideration.

  1. Trump as the nominee would be almost as good as Palin herself getting the nomination. It would be fantastic, they really don’t stand a chance in ’12. They have no one of real competition for the president, barring some gargantuan scandal in the white house or some miracle on or from the right. It reminds me of the chances Dole had against President Clinton, none.

  2. It’s pretty easy to see why good people won’t run for president – why would you put yourself through the BS. As much as I think this president is totally in over his head and is a bad joke, this birth certificate stuff is really a waste of time. From the time a person even suggests they might want to be president, someone is trying to destroy them personally and professionally – insane. We really get what we deserve – just look at the current president and the guys who want to be president – I’m sure we could do better.

    • I think you should run sweet cheeks.

    • I actually agree with you, Steve. No matter whether you’re blue or red, if you run there’s a giant contingency of people waiting to destroy you.

        • I have no idea what you’re talking about. Good candidates don’t run because they’ll get attacked? That’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard. So only candidates that have lots of secrets and scandalous habits run…..because they’re ok with getting attacked? I’m just trying to grasp your point, all politicians get attacked for bullshit reasons so no good politicians exist? Is that right? That doesn’t make sense at all. Rationalize it anyway you want Steve, if there was a good, electable republican running right now he/she would be in the lead. Why exactly would the primary voters throw their support behind a candidate that even you say (I’m gathering from your above posts, correct me if I’m wrong there) is not a good choice? Because he’s a bad politician? Who’s a good republican choice this time around for the republicans? Even if he/she isn’t running, who do you see as a good candidate with fresh new republican ideas that’s electable and incorruptible enough to beat the president? And you honestly think a candidate like that wouldn’t run for fear of political attacks? You confuse the hell outta me Steve. I’ll say it again, you’re just rationalizing what we all know is inevitable.

  3. Again I say Trump has no intention of running for president. He is only doing this for the publicity and to boost his tv ratings. It’s all about the money just like Palin. Neither one of these will ever be viable candidates for the office.
