Fox News has manufactured an entirely contrived and hypocritical theme surrounding what they call “Cancel Culture.” In reality it’s just an excuse for the network and the Republicans they represent to whine about criticism they receive, while they engage in the very same criticism of those they oppose.
On Sunday a progressive organization revealed that an ad they booked on Fox News was rejected. The MeidasTouch principals reported that they were not given any reason for the rejection of the nearly $200,000.00 ad buy. However the content of the ad makes it pretty clear that the flagrantly partisan players at Fox News were deliberately censoring the ad because it reflected poorly on the Republican Clown Show and and its ringmaster, Donald Trump. Here is the ad that Fox found so offensive:

This ad is a heart wrenching condemnation of the January 6th riots on Capitol Hill by the Trump Insurrection Brigades. It contains the personal testimony of Capital Police officers before Congress and the press. Their remarks expose the still open wounds suffered by the heroes who protected America’s seat of government when it was under attack by rage-fueled seditionists, including…
“Our worst nightmare has really come true. An attack on American democracy right here in the nation’s capitol.”
“I experienced the most brutal, savage, hand-to-hand combat of my entire life.”
“I received chemical burns to my face that still have not healed to this very day.”
“I just remember people swinging metal poles at us.”
“It’s been very difficult seeing elected officials and other individuals whitewashing the events of that day.”
Generally, when advertisements are rejected it is due to some part of it being either demonstrably untrue or potentially offensive. Neither of those justifications fit this rejection by Fox News. All of the commentary and the video footage from the riot is verifiably true and well-documented. There is no graphic depiction of violence that could be construed as too harsh for viewing. So that leaves the only excuse for Fox’s rejection to be pure political discrimination. Ben Meiselas of the MeidasTouch responded to the snub saying that…
“We couldn’t have fathomed in our wildest imaginations that even a Fox News would reject an ad that simply condemns the insurrection, and condemns people who support the insurrection,” said Ben Meiselas, one of the co-founders of MeidasTouch, the liberal Political Action Committee that created the 60-second ad. “What Fox has really become is a fascist echo chamber gatekeeper for their base.”
By turning down this honest depiction of events on January 6th, Fox News is proving that their support for law enforcement is an exploitative facade. Their segments on how “Blue Lives Matter,” and their frequent booking of former law enforcement officers is all for show. And their feigned complaints about conservatives being “canceled” stinks of hypocrisy when they won’t even take a couple hundred thousand dollars to air a perfectly honest ad. Which may be for the best, because why should any progressive enterprise be funding the bullshit factory of Fox News?
The stench of hypocrisy also extends to Fox’s whining about Trump being suspended on Facebook. There is simply no way to rationalize their indignation at Facebook when they refuse to accept an honest, paid for advertisement.
Fox has made their position clear: They couldn’t care less about the police or truthful reporting. They showed that previously when they supported the GOP refusal to vote for a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6th insurrection. They are too afraid of the truth coming out. But perhaps they are even more afraid of offending Dear Leader Trump.

I don’t know this, is just my thought on why they’d want to run this ad on FauxNews…
We out here with free-thinking minds know what happened on Jan 6th & what led up to it (who orchestrated & arranged the whole thing). But, the truth of these things needs to get out to “the others” – an ad like this shows FauxSpews viewers what they otherwise will never be exposed to, never know about Jan 6th. It’s like a general, rather passive, non-threatening intro to how the police feel/felt; a good way to perhaps allow for some empathy from Faux viewers. They sure won’t see/hear that as part of programming! Very non-accusatory way to broach subject. I think it’s a good idea. Apparently, Faux didn’t want their viewers to see/hear the real feelings of the true victims of that day ~ wouldn’t want to risk awakening their sleeping conscience, I suppose?!?
We have to find a way to get the truth to the other 1/2 of the Country in a way that doesn’t make them instantly “jump defensive” & reject it, as they’ve been trained to do by Faux.
In light of Rethugs total rejection of investigating events of that day, due to their own fears of being found out to be the liars they are, it shut that door to televised hearings. And Pelosi has said that if she does anything similar, she has no intention of looking into it beyond the police response & how to improve law enforcement ops in future. She stated she will “stop short of Trump’s involvement” ~ so a waste of time & will not investigate what needs to be known. Don’t know why she even bothers then!
Ya’ know, I kinda’ wish Congress wasn’t shuffled off to safety that day. Maybe if the mob actually got ahold of a couple members of Congress & ruffed ’em up a bit, they would not have retreated back to their “wimpy mode”! Dem leadership should step aside if don’t want to do the hard stuff & let more courageous members take the lead!
To hell with “not looking partisan”! That ship has sailed & GOP is in it up to their asses! It IS partisan, by God ~ 1 Party of liars was involved, is supportive of the attempted overturning of election & are busy making it so States can do it at will from now on! 1 Party of liars who hate our democracy & doing all they can to retake power & KEEP IT! So, yeah the GOP are the offenders destroying American democracy, while claiming they’re “saving it”. They made it partisan issue & now it must be dealt with! The truth has to come out – NOW, not later! They could’ve been equal part of the commission & would have made it a circus of fools, like did eith Ukraine & also with Mueller testifying. Their Party said “Hell no!” We don’t just say ok & drop it! We continue to get to the bottom of it without them. F–k ’em! Had their chance for input. Seems Pelosi still won’t play hardball & do what must be done, so put someone else in charge & run ads that the ones lied to can see & begin to understand the truth. Let ’em ask GOP liars why they’re lying.
