Trump’s MAGA RNC Convention Suffers Sharp Ratings Decline From Prior Years and Biden Speech

The Republican National Convention launched this week and immediately rocketed into the hearts of the America people with such MAGA luminaries as Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, puppy killing South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem, model and reality TV personality Amber Rose, White nationalist whisperer Charlie Kirk, and, of course, Dear Leader himself, Donald Trump.

The popularity of the GOP roster was promoted as a blockbuster lineup that threatened to break all records for television viewing as the Trump Train chugged into the nation’s homes via the media that it regards as the “enemy of the people.” Never mind that Trump is among the most despised political figures in decades who voters find repulsive for both his policies and his personality.

The ratings for the first day of the Convention are out, and they reflect just how deplorable he is held by the American people. As reported by Variety…

“The first telecasts of the Republican National Convention on Monday drew in 18.1 million viewers across networks, per Nielsen.

“That total, measured during the 10 p.m. ET hour, accounts for 12 broadcasters and cablers: ABC, CBS, NBC, Scripps News, Telemundo, CNN, Fox Business, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, Newsmax, NewsNation and PBS, with Nielsen noting that Telemundo only aired 9 minutes of RNC coverage.

“Fox News led the pack by far with 6.9 million viewers at 10 p.m. Next was ABC with 2.3 million viewers, NBC with 2.2 million, CBS with 1.8 million, MSNBC with 1.3 million and CNN with 1.1 million.”

It should come as no surprise that Fox News – Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda – would deliver the lion’s share of the convention audience. Meanwhile, the rest of the nation that watches more credible news sources got comparatively little exposure to the RNC’s unreality show. So Trump had sparse opportunity to spread his message to anyone but the already indoctrinated members of the MAGA cult. And Fox News benefited from the broadcast, despite Trump’s own vacillating opinion of the ultra-rightist outlet.

It is notable that the 18 million viewers that watched the affair on Monday is considerably less than the 23 million that tuned into the RNC’s convention in 2016. And it is also only slightly more than than the 17 million who watched in 2020, even though that convention was largely scrapped due to COVID. Furthermore, this feeble showing occurred despite newsworthy highlights including Trump naming his vice-presidential running mate, and this being his first public appearance since the “Earlobe Stigmata” he received at his Pennsylvania rally.

What may be most painful for Trump is that the ratings for his convention so far are also far less than the 24 million viewers that President Biden drew for his post-NATO press conference just last week. So it’s another defeat for Trump at the hands of “Sleepy Joe.” It won’t be long before Trump whines that the Nielsen ratings are “rigged” and the whole thing is a “hoax” and/or a “witch hunt” aimed at “stealing” his victory.

THIS JUST IN: The RNC’s ratings for the second night also declined from 2016 and 2020. This year the Trump gala drew only 14.8 million viewers, compared to 19 million for each of the prior two conventions.

The fulfillment of that feeble faithfulness has finally been achieved with the descent of Donald Trump to the Earthly realm. His MAGA cult disciples revere him as a messenger from heaven, despite his alignment with a place much farther down. They believe that he was sent to slay their foes (i.e. Blacks, gays, and all manner of liberals). The MAGAtists see him that way because he sees himself that way, and who are they to disagree? They will obediently comply and bequeath unto him their funds to purchase his Trump-branded bible and cover his legal expenses incurred from his communion with porn stars and committing fraud. In the days that followed the shooting in Pennsylvania that resulted in Trump’s “Earlobe Stigmata,” many of Trump’s devotees have testified on television that he is the beneficiary of divine intervention by virtue of his having survived. They apparently believe that the Trump fan who died deserved it, so god forsook him. And on Tuesday morning, the preachers on Fox News visited with Trump’s Deputy Director of Communications (aka Propaganda), Caroline Sunshine, to glory in the light of the Don. Trump’s Sunshine engaged in the following exchange with Fox’s Harris Faulkner…

Faulkner: People are praying for him. People have tapped into that. How does the left come against that? What are they gonna do?
Sunshine: I think the left is godless. And I don’t feel like it’s hard to say that. I don’t say that from a place of malice. I say that as a woman of deep faith myself.[…]

The MAGA movement is full of people that love our country, but love god. What president Trump survived is divine intervention. […] It’s good to remember that good does defeat evil.”

Harris is correct that people have been praying for Trump. Including President Biden, Kamala Harris, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, and many more of the Democrats who offered their prayers, but who Faulkner never mentioned, and who Sunshine believes are evil.

Sunshine claims that her accusation that “the left is godless” comes from being “a woman of deep faith.” That is an explicitly anti-Christian attitude. She might want to refer to Matthew 7, that warns “Judge not, that ye be not judged.” And despite her denial, she is speaking purely with malice. There is simply no other way to describe it. Particularly when she elaborates by implying that Democrats are “evil.”

It’s also notable that these malicious comments come so soon after many Americans of all political persuasions have expressed their desire to turn down the harsh rhetoric and seek to unite the country in its common goals. Both Biden and Trump have publicly promised to do so. But only Biden has kept that promise. Trump, on the other hand, has bizarrely defined “unity” as giving him the freedom to commit crimes at will. and his MAGAtists have gone full bore into blaming Biden and Democrats for the violence that Trump has incited for years.

The phony piety of pseudo-religious Republicans has long registered abnormally high on the hypocrisy scale. But now, with Trump’s resurrection from near – er, make that ear – death, it is completely off the charts. Their adoption of Trump as messiah is complete. And they will proselytize that blasphemy from now until November 5th, and probably longer. Especially if he loses. That’s what cults do.

Fox News Hack Posts Blatantly Racist Op-Ed Attacking Kamala Harris in Murdoch’s New York Post

The press seems to have a single-minded mission to drive Biden out of the presidential race because he struggled to express himself effectively at the debate. Never mind that, while Trump didn’t have any problem speaking, he had a huge problem telling the truth. And to the press, being a pathological liar isn’t a disqualifying characteristic for someone seeking to become leader of the free world, a position that Trump has already failed horribly at. Adding to the muck, is the notorious muckraking rag, the New York Post. This Rupert Murdoch propaganda spewer published a story by Fox News correspondent, Charlie Gasparino, with the blatantly racist headline, “America may soon be subjected to the country’s first DEI president: Kamala Harris.” It hardly requires reading the article to get the gist of what it is saying. The right-wingers of America have been furiously trying to redefine the acronym “DEI” (diversity, equity, and inclusion) to mean “incompetent minorities and women trying to steal jobs from White men.” The article opened saying that…

“There is a raging debate in corporate America on the future of DEI, aka Diversity ­Equity and Inclusion, because it is literally destroying businesses that go there. And yet the American public may soon be subjected to DEI writ large in the next president of the United States, if Kamala Harris finds her way to the top of the Democratic ticket.”

To be clear, the article is attacking Harris as undeserving of her position as Vice-President, or any position she might have subsequent to that. They are dismissing the fact that she is the former Attorney General of California and a United States Senator. Apparently they don’t regard those as qualification for high office. But they do appreciate wealthy White men who have bankrupted multiple business and bragged about committing sexual assault.

The article also insults Harris personally as “the most irrepressibly fatuous politician in America” and “manifest ­unlikability.” It then goes on to complain about the fact that she has dared to laugh – or in their words, cackle – in public…

The article doesn’t leave out the author’s deep-seated hatred for President Biden either. He adopts Trump’s infantile nickname of “Sleepy Joe,” and offers some preposterous lies about Biden’s policies. For instance, he says that Biden “literally invites terrorists to enter the country and kill people.” Literally? This author clearly doesn’t know what the word means. But he couldn’t come up with any figurative examples of his ridiculous claim either.

The article’s case against DEI is profoundly ludicrous and steeped in hypocrisy. Someone needs to tell them about the Fox News Corporate Responsibility Report that boasts that the company is “committed to diversity from the very top [and that] An inclusive and diverse workplace is not merely a strategy or business objective—it is fundamentally woven in the fabric of the Company.” It goes on to elaborate more specifically that…

“Our Preventing Harassment, Discrimination and Retaliation Policy protects individuals on the basis of a person’s actual or perceived race, religious creed, color, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, age, physical disability, mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, family status, caregiver status, sex (including pregnancy status, childbirth, breastfeeding, and related medical conditions), gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, sexual and reproductive health decisions, reproductive health decision-making, hair texture or hairstyles, military or veteran status, political affiliation, arrest or conviction record, union membership, unemployment status, credit history, status as a victim of domestic violence, stalking or sexual offenses, or any other legally protected characteristic.”

So Fox News, to the surprise of no one who has watched it with clear eyes, is hysterically hypocritical. What’s more, they spend much of their airtime vilifying a policy that is “fundamentally woven in the fabric of the Company.” And yet, they still dredge up their inbred prejudices to purposefully ignore and/or misinterpret DEI in order to use it against the first Black woman to serve as Vice-President. But then, would anyone expect anything else from Rupert Murdoch and his Klan Empire?

Hunter Biden Follows Through with Threat to Sue Fox News for Disseminating ‘Revenge Porn’

Two months ago, Hunter Biden sent a “cease and desist” letter to Fox News demanding that they retract false stories that they have been disseminating for more than a year about President Biden’s son. Never mind that the network never had a shred of evidence to support their libelous “reporting.” Of course, lacking evidence has ever stopped Fox News from lying to smear their political opponents before.

CNN reported at the time that “Lawyers for Hunter Biden are telling Fox News to correct the record on bribery allegations made by a discredited FBI informant or face a defamation lawsuit.” The letter also “accused Fox of profiting off of a fictionalized show streaming on Fox Nation called “The Trial of Hunter Biden,” and of violating revenge porn laws.”

On Monday Hunter Biden followed through on his threat to sue Fox News. The lawsuit charges that Fox News engaged in distribution of “revenge porn” and unjust enrichment and intentional infliction of emotional distress. As reported by NBC News…

“Hunter Biden is accusing Fox News in a lawsuit of distributing ‘revenge porn’ by broadcasting nude images of him as part of a miniseries that was available on the conservative outlet’s streaming service, Fox Nation. […]

“In addition to the unlawful commercial exploitation of Mr. Biden’s image, name, and likeness, ‘The Trial of Hunter Biden’ unlawfully publishes numerous intimate images (both still and video) of Mr. Biden depicting him in the nude [and that] Fox published and disseminated these intimate images to its vast audience of millions as part of an entertainment program in order to humiliate, harass, annoy, and alarm Mr. Biden and to tarnish his reputation.”

NBC News reports that while Fox News removed the program from their website, they retained promotional reels and clips online, and failed remove the program from third-party streaming platforms.

This lawsuit will add to the legal troubles that Fox News has been facing. They have already agreed to a $787 million settlement for defamation as a result of a lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems. Without even going to trial, that suit revealed the myriad lies that Fox News hosts and guests told about Donald Trump’s “Big Lie” that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from him. The revelations that emerged included emails that showed that Fox knew that what they were reporting were lies while they were telling them. Fox News is also facing a similar defamation lawsuit by the voting software firm, Smartmatic, for $2.7 billion.

Hunter Biden’s case against Fox News is pretty solid and, if the network doesn’t settle with him, Biden’s legal team could begin the discovery process. That’s the same process that allowed Dominion to get access to Fox’s internal communications and resulted in a great deal of humiliation for the network and its personnel, including hosts Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, and more.

The mounting legal cases that Fox News is fighting will only bring them further financial and reputational costs. And their defense on First Amendment grounds is unlikely to succeed. The First Amendment does not shield them from engaging in defamation, publishing known falsehoods, or disseminating purposefully “fictionalized” stories that contain stolen, private images. Will Fox News cave and settle this suit as well? Stay tuned.

Does that sound like anyone you know? Convicted Felon Donald Trump has been documented to have told more than 30,000 lies during his occupation of the White House, and for the years that have followed. Many of those lies involved beliefs that are demonstrably untrue, such his claim that everybody, including liberals, wanted Roe v Wade reversed; his insistence that China paid billions in tariffs; his assertion that Democrats favor abortion after birth; his “Big Lie” that he won the 2020 presidential election; and too many more to enumerate.

On Sunday morning, Trump’s daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, who he installed as co-chair of the Republican National Committee, visited with the Fox News Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo. Part of their televised mutual admiration group therapy session included Lara revealing another one of Trump’s delusions of grandeur…

“You also heard whenever [Trump] was in Virginia at that campaign rally, him say ‘to anyone out there who is considering doing anything before I become president again, don’t even try it.’ The fact you have Donald Trump is leading the country right now when he is not officially yet back in the White House speaks volumes to the American people and, I think, to the rest of the world.”

That statement does, indeed, speak volumes. But not in the way that Lara thinks. It speaks to Trump’s delusional perception of himself as still possessing the powers of the presidency. It speaks to his authoritarian aspirations to wield that imaginary power with impotent threats that he has no ability to carry out. It speaks to his anti-American tendencies to obstruct any progress on behalf of the people unless it is overseen and sanctioned by him.

What’s more, Lara is actually advocating that Trump add to the list of felonies he is already guilty of. In saying that “He is leading despite the fact that Joe Biden is technically the President,” Lara is confessing that Trump is violating federal law (the Logan Act) that prohibits “negotiation by unauthorized American citizens with foreign governments.”

Trump himself has confessed these illegal acts in comments wherein he implied that he can personally arrange negotiated solutions with Vladimir Putin to problems with Russia, such as the war in Ukraine and the incarceration of Wall Street Journal reporter Evan Gershkovich. Trump has said that those problems would be resolved after the election, but only if he is the winner. So he’s virtually conspiring with Putin to hold U.S. objectives hostage and to obstruct resolutions unless his demands to reoccupy the White House are satisfied.

Lara’s comments not only expose the unlawfulness that is inherent in the Trump family, they reveal a toxic strain anti-Americanism that has infected the whole of the MAGA cult. They support Trump’s criminality, just as they have supported it when he was convicted of 34 felonies in Manhattan; and when he was found liable for $454 million for financial fraud; and when he was adjudicated as a rapist and ordered to pay $88 million to his victim. Not to mention the fraud he engaged in with his phony university and charitable foundation.

To describe Trump’s activities as akin to a crime syndicate would be unquestionably accurate. It would also be monstrously disturbing due to the fact that he is the chosen candidate of the Republican Party for president. And it doesn’t help matters to know that Fox News continues to buttress the depraved corruption of both the Trump family and the MAGA GOP.

They are apparently aware – and terrified – at the prospect of Trump engaging with the President for 90 minutes without a TelePrompTer.

Considering the performances Trump has been delivering at his recent cult rallies, the fears of his handlers and supporters are fully justified. His rambling raves have included musings about being killed by electrocution or sharks, telling his devotees that he has more than enough votes and doesn’t need theirs, claiming to have more “wounds” than any president ever (e.g. Kennedy and Lincoln), and repeatedly praising “the late, great, Hannibal Lector.” That’s not exactly a promising prelude to the big debate on Thursday.

Joining the Trumpsters who are pre-conceding that Biden is likely to prevail in the debate, is his former White House “doctor” Ronny Jackson, who is now an ultra-MAGA congressman from Texas. Jackson rushed over to Fox News for some emergency rehabilitation of Trump’s sagging public profile. And in an interview with Fox’s Senior Trump-Fluffer, Maria Bartiromo, he offered the following diagnosis of a candidate “jacked up” on drugs that sounds very much like Trump…

“Those drugs are out there. They treat the cognition part of it. They try to make it where he can think straighter and he’s not lost and confused as much. And then there’s drugs that actually treats alertness like Adderall and other amphetamine type drugs. Maybe Provigil and things like that. And then there’s a host of drugs that try to take the agitated edge off most of these cognitive disorders.

“So I feel like they’re probably giving him a little bit of all of this. They just have to get a little bit of distract. They all have different times of onset. They have different durations. They interact with each other. So it’s a challenge. But they have no choice with what they’re working with. They don’t have much to work with.”

Absent any identification of the subject to whom Jackson was referring, it could easily be assumed that he was talking about Trump. Every word of that rant describes Trump’s psychoses: his cognitive decline, his waning alertness (he kept falling asleep at his own criminal trial), and his constant state of hostile agitation. And without the deceitful editing of “cheap fake” videos, Biden exhibits none of those problems.

Jackson may not be the best surrogate for Trump on these matters. After all, he was known as “The Candyman” for the way he freely dispensed prescription drugs while working in the White House. He was also alleged to have prescribed drugs for himself. And he was demoted by the Navy from Rear Admiral to Captain for similar misconduct.

What’s more, Jackson is the “doctor” who allegedly administered the infamous cognitive test that Trump keeps bragging that he “aced.” You know, the one where he was asked to identify an elephant and count backwards. And despite being Trump’s doctor in the White House for four years, Trump couldn’t even remember his name, calling him Ronny “Johnson” twice at a recent rally.

In the same interview with Bartiromo, Jackson said that has sent five letters asking that President Biden submit to a cognitive test. According to Jackson they were all ignored by whoever he sent them to (he doesn’t say). And now he says he is sending another letter to the current White House physician “demanding” that Biden “submit to a drug test before and after the debate.” Or what? He has no authority to make any demands. And notice that his impotent demands don’t apply to Trump. Perhaps Jackson knows something about Trump that he doesn’t want to become public.

Not to be left out, Trump himself is joining the throng of Trumpists slandering Biden. And true to form, he is doing it in the most noxious and profane way possible. But could we expect any else from Trump?

Trump’s Fear and Desperation Show as He Says Biden is Both ‘The Worst’ and ‘A Worthy’ Debater

President Biden is studying policies and holding mock debates with experienced colleagues. One of the problems that Trump is going to face is that he has been maligning Biden for years as a senile commie who “can’t put two sentences together.” As a result, he has set a very low bar for Biden, who now only has to show up and express him himself without drooling in order to claim victory. Knowledgeable debaters know not to lower expectations for an opponent. But Trump doesn’t just lower expectations, he demolishes them…

So according to Trump, “Crooked Joe Biden is the WORST debater I have ever faced.” Which is a curious way to brag about the guy who beat you the last two times you debated him (debate one poll – – debate two poll), as well as in the general election that followed.

However, it appears that somebody on Trump’s team was able to cut through his ego and convince him that disparaging a debate opponent is a terrible strategy. So Trump has reversed course in his typically clumsy way. He now says that…

“I assume he’s going to be somebody that will be a worthy debater. I don’t want to underestimate him.”

That’s right! Trump doesn’t want to underestimate Biden, who he regularly slanders as so cognitively impaired that he doesn’t even know where he is. And if Biden happens to present himself as a vigorous, articulate leader, Trump and his MAGA media minions attribute it to pharmaceutical enhancements. Never mind that there are no drugs that can transform a dementia patient into an eloquent and effective communicator. If there were, everyone would be using them.

Trump’s flip-flop on Biden’s mental acuity is evidence that he is scared witless about the upcoming debate. He knows that he was crushed in the past. And he knows that Biden, despite a lifelong problem with stuttering, can deliver passionate oratories that most people find compelling and relatable. Consequently, Trump now needs to frantically restructure his whole approach to attacking Biden. He can no longer deride him as “Sleepy Joe.” Especially after Trump was repeatedly caught falling asleep at his own criminal trial.

In addition to this backhanded acknowledgement of Biden’s debating skills, Trump is testing out other feeble themes to put a more positive spin on losing the debate next week. In one post to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, Trump demonstrated his infamous false bravado saying that that “I look forward to seeing him at the Fake Debate on Thursday.” So now it’s a “fake” debate? That’s likely the first step to it officially becoming a “rigged” debate. Followed shortly by it being tagged a “stolen” debate.

Rest assured that Trump and his propaganda purveyors at Fox News and elsewhere will declare the he won the debate, no matter what happens. But in the preceding days they will try to make excuses for a pitiful defeat. They will accuse Biden of being on drugs. Sean Hannity has already been throwing around the name “Jacked Up Joe,” which actually sounds kind of awesome. And that’s not the worst of it…

“If he does debate, we will see jacked up Joe 2.0. Whatever Red bull that he drank, or caffeine pills that he took, or whatever he might have taken, I promise you they’ll give it to him again.”

EVEN WORSE: Fox News Floats Conspiracy Theory that Biden is Plotting to Assault Trump to Avoid Debating Him
“It will probably be a Nancy Kerrigan situation too, where right as Trump is walking out…I’m sure it will be something…sabotage.”

All of these allegations are, of course, the sort of projection that Trump and the MAGA cult routinely engage in. They accuse Biden of what they are doing, or what they wish they could do. And they all illustrate Trump’s fear of actually getting on a stage with the formidable “Dark Brandon.” Which, in the end, may result in Trump chickening out altogether. Which is also something that is being spoken about out loud in Trump Land.

If he isn’t unloading his perpetual fury at President Biden or some other unwitting Democrat for respectably serving the public, Trump is blasting his fellow Republicans for failing to be sufficiently worshipful.

The anger that emanates from Trump is like carpet bombing that indiscriminately destroys anything within its blast range. And he couldn’t care less if the victims are friend or foe. The only thing that matters to Trump is that some damage was done to whatever or whoever was on his list for retribution at the time. For instance, he recently lashed out at the city of Milwaukee, where the Republican convention will be held next month…

On Wednesday Trump fired wildly at a slew of his perceived enemies in an especially noxious tirade that he posted on his floundering social media scam, Truth Social. The brief assault threw rhetorical shrapnel in every direction. He ranted that…

“Nobody can ever trust Fox News, and I am one of them, with the weak and ineffective RINO, Paul Ryan, on its Board of Directors. He’s a total lightweight, a failed and pathetic Speaker of the House, and a very disloyal person. Romney was bad, but Paul Ryan made him look worse. As a team, they never had a chance. Rupert and Lachlan, get that dog off your Board – You don’t need him. ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

Trump’s opening attack is one that is difficult to argue with. Indeed, “Nobody can ever trust Fox News.” It is an ultra-rightist disseminator of pure propaganda in service to Trump and his MAGA cult. So why, then, would Trump be blasting it?

It’s hard to say for sure, but it’s likely that Trump was triggered by a recent interview on Fox News of former GOP Speaker Paul Ryan, who now serves on Fox’s board of directors. Among other things, Ryan had the audacity to tell the truth about Trump to host Neil Cavuto. Which is all that was necessary to incur Trump’s seething wrath. Ryan said that…

“He has cost us a lot of seats…He cost us the Senate twice. He cost us the House because he is pushing through the primaries people who cannot win general elections but pledge fealty to him…We need legislators, not entertainers.” [And that] “If you put yourself above the Constitution, as he has done, I think that makes you unfit for office.”

Still, it’s ridiculous for Trump to react so viciously considering how much blind adulation he gets from almost everyone else on the network. The entire primetime lineup (Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, and Sean Hannity), and much of the daytime programming (Fox & Friends, Outnumbered, and The Five), are unfailingly devoted to Trump. It is, after all, the network that settled a massive $787 million dollar lawsuit due to their flagrant lies and defamation on Trump’s behalf.

Somehow, in light of all of that, Trump still abhors Fox and thinks that he can demand that Rupert Murdoch remove “that dog” Ryan, from the board because, in a toxically twisted paraphrase of a famous Beatles lyric, “ALL YOU NEED IS TRUMP.” Yet despite his condemnation of Fox News as wholly untrustworthy, Trump himself appears to trust it a great deal. A recent analysis of his comments on Truth Social reveals that he relies more on Fox News for support than any media enterprise…

“Donald Trump can’t quit Fox News. The Republican presidential candidate may lash out in strong terms at the right-wing channel for supposedly not being sufficiently loyal to him, but a fresh analysis of the content posted on his Truth Social page shows that he promotes the outlet more than any other. […] In the month of May, Trump posted 56 videos from Fox News, dwarfing the volume of content he posted from any other outlet, according to the analysis conducted by The Righting, a website that monitors right-wing media.”

Trump is exhibiting a fair measure of contradictory anxieties with his simultaneous love and hatred for Fox News. We can add that psychological diagnosis to previous assessments that he is a malignant narcissist who is suffering from severe cognitive decline. All of which should be sufficient to persuade decent, patriotic Americans to vote for Joe Biden, who has demonstrated in his first term as President that he is intelligent, effective, and compassionate.

We can forget about the MAGA cultists. Unfortunately for them and their families, they are lost to us now. But fortunately, there are many more Democrats who didn’t vote, and independents who are persuadable, and even Republicans who haven’t abandoned reality, to still achieve a landslide victory for Biden-Harris. So long as we all work hard to achieve that goal and to preserve the principles enshrined in the Constitution and, ultimately, American democracy.

UPDATE: Trump has another reason to be upset with Fox News. Their new poll has Biden beating him by two points. And he isn’t taking that very well.

Fox News Admits that the GOP is Demanding Tapes of Biden So They Can Mock Him for Stuttering

Among the tediously repeated lines that Trump delivers in his traveling cult rallies is a new one wherein he declares that the 2024 presidential election is “the most important election in the history of the United States.” And for once, he isn’t wrong. But he also isn’t right for the reasons that he thinks.

Fox News, Joe Biden, Fake News

On November 5, 2024, the American people will choose between President Joe Biden, a dedicated, patriotic, statesman, and family man, or Donald Trump, a twice impeached, serial adulterer, who has been adjudicated as a rapist and fraudster, and been convicted of 34 felonies. Inexplicably, there is still a small but noisy contingent of Trump cultists who remain irredeemably devoted to their Dear Leader despite all the evidence of his moral decrepitude. The good news is that most voters won’t have a particularly difficult time making their decision.

In the meantime, the Trump-fluffers at Fox News are hard at work spreading lies, right-wing propaganda, and malicious insults that would embarrass an eight year old. Which is what they’ve always done, so that isn’t exactly news. A recent example of this comes from Kayleigh McEnany, a former Trump press secretary who is now doing essentially the same job, but with a bigger paycheck from Fox.

In a segment of Fox’s Sean Hannity show, McEnany addressed a wholly contrived controversy over Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has declined to turn over some audio tapes of Biden to the rabidly biased Republicans in the House of Representatives. Garland advised the GOP that such requests violate precedent when there is an objection on the basis of executive privilege. But in a fit of petulant rage, the GOP voted to hold Garland in contempt of Congress anyway.

To the surprise no one with a functioning cerebellum, Garland decided not to prosecute himself. Not out of personal interest, but because there is no crime to prosecute. This exacerbated the already unhinged anger of the GOP and Fox News. McEnany lashed out saying that…

“This is of great public interest. As congressmen have pointed out, the transcripts were edited to keep out the ‘ums,’ the ‘ahs,’ ‘the stutters. The American people deserve to hear this President in long form.”

So McEnany is admitting that the only purpose of releasing the audio tapes would be to embarrass the President who has had a lifelong problem with stuttering. It’s a sickening request that seeks only to mock an otherwise irrelevant speech impediment. What she is asking is akin to demanding the videotapes of the President’s colonoscopy because the American people “deserve” to see the President’s long intestine.

The tapes do not provide any substantive information that would be useful for any legislative purpose. Congress has the full transcripts of the tapes, and such transcripts always remove extraneous pauses and fillers. But McEnany and her confederates at Fox News don’t have any coherent criticisms to make of Biden, so they are desperate for petty things like this that they can exploit to attack him.

McEnany is not alone on this. The Republican Speaker of the House, MAGA Mike Johnson, is also weighing in on the matter. He has announced that Congress is going to sue the Justice Department in an attempt to get the tapes. Johnson is, once again, proving that he believes the role of Congress is to serve as Trump’s private law firm. Rather than pass any bills that actually benefit the nation or its citizens, Johnson focuses entirely on partisan political attacks on behalf of Trump. That’s why this session of Congress has been the least productive in decades.

What’s more, the goal of disparaging Biden’s mental acuity by Fox News and the MAGA GOP, is one that fails miserably in contrast to Trump’s own cognitive problems. Trump provides frequent evidence of his Acute Psychobabble Disorder (APB). It ranges from rants about succumbing to electrocution or sharks, to ridiculously inflating the size of the crowds at his cult rallies, to claiming to have the solution to every world problem that he can only reveal if he’s elected.

However, the pièce de résistance is Trump’s alleged proof that he is mentally superior to most mortals because he supposedly “aced” a cognitive test given to him by a disgraced former doctor, now Texas Rep. Ronny Jackson, wherein he was asked to identify an elephant and count backwards. However, in Trump’s latest attempt to brag about this “accomplishment,” the “stable genius” couldn’t even remember the doctor’s name…

So it is with the backdrop of Trump’s inability to retain information that he refers to frequently, along with his Bizarro World yammering that no one can decipher, that Fox News and the GOP want to get their hands on some tapes of Biden stammering during a five hour long interview, in order to prove that he’s unfit for office. That is how pitifully desperate they are to find anything to dirty up Biden with.

While this might work on the already indoctrinated Trump disciples, it is going to fall flat for everyone else. And the best forum within which to prove that is the upcoming Biden/Trump debate. That is, if Trump doesn’t chicken out.

Trump prefers instead to hold cult rallies where he keeps his distance from the unclean masses that worship their Dear Leader, or consorts with the upper-crusters from whom he wrangles millions of dollars in bribes…er…donations that are spent mostly on his legal fees and billion dollar judgments. And heaven forbid he ever pass any of those funds on to his GOP confederates, from whom he demands unflinching loyalty that is never reciprocated.

Consistent with his unconventional style, Trump has added a new tool to his campaign bag of tricks. In a private meeting with congressional Republicans, Trump expressed his visceral distaste for Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the city that will be hosting the Republican National Convention where next month, barring any unforeseen liberation from the grip of Felonious Punk, he will officially be nominated as the GOP’s candidate for president. Trump didn’t mince words, calling Milwaukee a “horrible city.”

This shouldn’t surprise anyone who has observed Trump over the past few years. He frequently maligns America as a “failed nation” that is overrun by communists, criminals, and “corrupt radicals and thugs” who are determined to destroy the country and, more importantly from his perverse perspective, him. So why should Milwaukee get a reprieve?

As usual, Trump’s true feelings were recognized as repulsive and damaging by his pals in the press and political realm. They immediately set about to deny that any such insult was uttered. But true to form, Trump was too dense to realize himself that he might have been capable of making a mistake. So when Aishah Hasnie, a Fox News “reporter,” attempted to provide him an escape path, Trump flubbed it and ended up admitting that he made the grotesque comments.

Hasnie: Democrats are also hitting you on this comment that you made about Milwaukee, the host city for the RNC. And they seem to believe that you said that it was a horrible city. Can you just nip this in the bud and clarify what you meant?
Trump: It was very clear what I meant. I said, we’re very concerned with crime.

Note the Fox News Trump-fluffer’s characterization of the problem. She portrayed it as merely something that Democrats “believe that [Trump] said.” Never mind that it was exclusively Republicans who attended the meeting where Trump made the remarks. So it had to have been a Republican who leaked it to the press. Note also that the Foxie did not simply seek a comment from Trump, but she framed it as an opportunity for him to “nip this in the bud.” The Fox shill was virtually holding Trump’s hand to lead him to absolution. But Trump shook it loose and gave his own answer that served as a confession.

“I love Milwaukee, I have great friends in Milwaukee, but it’s as you know, the crime numbers are terrible. We have to be very careful. But I was referring to also the election, the ballots, the way it went down, it was very bad in Milwaukee. Very, very bad. And the people understand that and they agree with me. Everybody agrees. No, that was a fake story that came out.”

Did you catch the rosy chyron in that video clip editorializing that “TRUMP LOVES MILWAUKEE.” Yeah, right! More to the point, Trump does not deny that he made the disparaging remarks about Milwaukee. He just tries to pretend that he was talking about something else. But even in that attempt, he struggles with his own feeble excuse. He rambles first about the comment having something to do with crime. But then he quickly swerves to claim instead that it was related to imaginary allegations of election fraud. And as always, in Trump’s decaying cranium, “everybody agrees” with him about everything all the time.

For the record, crime in Milwaukee has been on a steep decline during President Biden’s term in office, and while both the city and the state are run by Democrats. And those facts were actually reported by the Fox News affiliate in Milwaukee.

“With the first quarter review, Milwaukee police say homicides have decreased 39% – down to 23 from 38 this time in 2023. Property crime is down 11%. Auto thefts are down 10% – down to 1,295 from 1,431 this time in 2023.”

Undeterred by reality, Fox News continues to gaslight their glassy-eyed audience. For instance, Sean Hannity asked GOP House Speaker, MAGA Mike Johnson, (a completely impartial source) about the Milwaukee maligning…

Hannity: Can we just settle one thing once and for all here? President Trump, it’s been attributed to him that he took a shot at Milwaukee. did he do that?
Johnson: No. I didn’t hear it and I was sitting right next to him.

Well then. That settles it. Johnson is either acutely hard of hearing, or is outright lying. Because he is disagreeing with Trump as to whether or not he said it. Perhaps Johnson is accusing Trump of lying. Hannity never bothered to mention what Trump said to his Fox News colleague above. Considering how long Fox News has been in the deception business, it’s astonishing how bad they are it.

UPDATE: Trump is now lying (again) that he never said Milwaukee is a “horrible city,” even though he previously admitted that he said it. Now he’s saying that “They lie and they make up a story that I said something bad about Milwaukee. […] I just ask you this, who would do that? Who would say something bad about a place that you want to win?” Trump, of course, frequently says terrible things about many cities, and repeatedly disparages the whole country as a “failing” “banana republic.”
