WTF? Now Trump Says the FBI Was Looking for Hillary Clinton’s Emails at Mar-a-Lago

For much of the post-presidency of Donald Trump, some analysts having observed his increasingly bizarre conduct and statements, have suggested that he might be laying the groundwork for an insanity defense should any of the investigations in progress lead to indictments. That’s always seemed to be a fanciful notion, but an improbable one. Until now.

On Thursday morning Trump called into the radio show of wingnut Wendy Bell to pontificate on the recent search of his Mar-a-Lago bunker by the FBI. For the three weeks since, Trump has floated an array of progressively ludicrous explanations and excuses for what occurred and why. Including that the FBI staged a photo of the classified documents that he hoarded in manner that made him look like slob.

A brief summary of Trump’s accusations would include that the documents that don’t exist, and which Trump refused to return when subpoenaed, were actually there, but he was using them, even though someone else packed them without his knowledge, which didn’t happen because the FBI planted them, and the documents that the FBI planted were all declassified in a secret ceremony, and protected by attorney-client privilege. No, really!

On Bell’s radio show Trump offered up a brand new reason for the FBI search. Although it’s a reason that draws on one of Trump favorite crackpot conspiracy theories from the old days. In a rambling and disjointed proclamation, Trump revealed that…

“I think they were looking for Hillary Clinton emails. I think they thought… and who knows? Boxes full of stuff… I think they thought that Hillary Clinton…it had something to do with the Russia, Russia, Russia… They were afraid that things were in there, part of their scam material, because that’s what they are, the scammers. And they would think that things were in there having to do with… Can you imagine…?”

Excuse me? Are we really reviving the Hillary Clinton email nonsense to explain the motives for the FBI’s efforts to recover highly sensitive national security materials that Trump stole and hoarded as his Palm Beach resort/home? Is Trump confessing that he took documents related to Clinton when he left the White House? Or is he asserting that the FBI is on his side in the quest find incriminating dirt on Clinton so that he can “Lock her up”? And where does Russia figure into his lunacy?

Perhaps a more complex, though equally as preposterous, theory is that Trump is implying that he took alleged evidence against Clinton for safekeeping, so that he could press charges against her when he resumes his post as American Dictator. And the FBI was trying to get it back so they could destroy it. Leaving the door open for Muslim King Obama to return to power.

That’s precisely the sort of devious and nefarious plot that would fester in Trump’s diseased brain. Is it crazy? Sure! Crazy like a Fox News segment.

Speaking of which, Fox’s Trump-fluffers are still struggling mightily to absolve him of any guilt for having the classified documents that he says aren’t classified anymore. Except that Fox’s Jeanine Pirro just conceded that they are classified. “I was shocked,” said Pirro, “to see classified documents and photos on a floor released by the FBI.” And Alan Dershowitz said the same thing on Newsmax. “This is classified material,” Dershowitz insisted, “and they’re putting it out and giving it to our enemies because they want to, because they can.”

Of course the content in the documents was covered up so that our enemies couldn’t possibly see any of it. But it’s interesting that these Trumpers are more concerned about how the evidence was displayed while in the FBI’s custody, than that there is such incriminating evidence of Trump’s treasonous malfeasance by storing these documents so insecurely at his hotel.

All of this reflects just how desperate and devoid of rational excuses they are for Trump’s obvious guilt. And as the walls close in around him, we can expect the madness to grow exponentially. Hillary better watch out. Trump still has not hit bottom. Can you imagine?

Poor Crybaby Trump is ‘Confused’ About the Photo of the Classified Documents He Stole

Lawyers for Donald Trump filed a motion to appoint a “Special Master” to review the documents that were recently recovered by the FBI from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bunker. However, that motion may have been just another bit of poor judgment on the part of Trump and his legal team, because it gave the Department of Justice an opportunity to flesh out its case against Trump in public.

The DOJ’s response was a detailed exposition of why Trump’s possession of classified materials was illegal and potentially harmful to national security. And among the evidence that the DOJ provided was a photograph of some of the classified documents that the FBI found.

The inclusion of that photo, and the subsequent reporting on it by the press, has triggered Trump into posting yet another deranged comment on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. In a fit of desperation, Trump wrote that…

“There seems to be confusion as to the “picture” where documents were sloppily thrown on the floor and then released photographically for the world to see, as if that’s what the FBI found when they broke into my home. Wrong! They took them out of cartons and spread them around on the carpet, making it look like a big “find” for them. They dropped them, not me – Very deceiving…And remember, we could have NO representative, including lawyers, present during the Raid. They were told to wait outside.”

WOW! That’s a hefty bowl of bullshittery right there. First of all, Trump seems to think that the most significant revelation in this photo is not the presence of documents that are clearly marked “Secret/SCI” (Sensitive Compartmentalized Information), but instead, the manner in which the documents were displayed. He accuses the FBI of “sloppily throw[ing them] on the floor” in order to embarrass him. He thinks that the FBI considered this a way of “making it look like a big ‘find.'” And he thinks that the FBI intended for it to appear that Trump was the one who made the mess on the floor.

Really? The documents were obviously spread out by the FBI so that the classification markings could be seen. There was no attempt to suggest that Trump had left them out on the floor this way. And the text of the DOJ’s filing never even hinted at that. No one but Trump cares about how the documents were displayed.

What’s more, Trump’s whining about the FBI breaking into his home is hysteria in the extreme. They had a legally issued search warrant that was obtained after Trump failed to comply with a subpoena and lied to the FBI.

More importantly, Trump is no longer making excuses for why he had these documents. He is has ceased pretending that they don’t exist. He isn’t accusing the FBI of planting them, or of someone else packing them. He is, in fact, confessing that he took them and kept them, despite having been told to return them to the National Archives. In effect, Trump has destroyed his own defense.

The legal peril that is engulfing Trump now just keeps getting worse. Even Fox News is having trouble defending him. Karl Rove was interviewed Wednesday by Martha MacCallum about the DOJ’s recent filing. MacCallum attempted to put forward Trump’s side saying that his lawyers had “their feelings about what was rightfully his and able to take.” Rove interrupted saying “Let’s be clear on this. None of these government documents are his to have taken.” He then elaborated…

“Under the Presidential Records Act of 1976, you cannot take original documents out of the White House with you when you leave the White House, whether you’re the President of the United States or any of his aides. It’s verboten under the law. Now there’s no criminal penalties for violating it, but why the former president packed up 20, nearly 30 some odd boxes of materials when he had no right to do so – and that’s what the government asserts incidentally in this filing.

“The former president asked for the return of the documents because, as he said in his filing, they were created during his administration. And the response of the government in their filing was that’s evidence that they aren’t his. If they were developed in the White House during the time of his presidency under the Presidential Records Act, they belong to the government, not to him.”

As they say in the propaganda game…“When you’ve lost Karl Rove…” Not to mention Fox News. Rove’s analysis is uncharacteristically correct. Although it should be noted that there are criminal penalties associated with Trump’s actions that include mishandling of classified documents and obstruction of justice for starters.

The hole Trump is digging for himself is approaching the depth of the Mariana Trench. And by all appearances, it’s all downhill from here.

Fox News Flunky Peter Doocy Deliberately Distorts Biden’s Pro-Police Calls for Unity

The Republican Party has become so deeply damaged by Donald Trump and his gargantuan, though fragile, ego, that they are abandoning the principles that were once the core of their political doctrine. For decades the GOP tried to pass itself off as the “law and order” party, despite the fact that many more of their members have been charged and convicted of crimes.

On Tuesday President Biden was in Pennsylvania to deliver a speech about public safety. He was taking head on what Republicans have traditionally claimed was a policy they believed was their personal property. However, a key component of Biden’s message was that “When it comes to public safety in this nation, the answer is not defund the police, it’s fund the police.”

Biden also condemned the GOP’s support for Trump, even after he incited a violent insurrection in Washington, D.C., during which more than 140 law enforcement officers were injured. And he made reference to Sen. Lindsey Graham’s unconscionable threat that there will be “riots in the streets” if Trump is held to account for his cavalcade of criminality.

As Biden was speaking, Fox News, true to form, cut away from the speech to fling unfounded criticisms at him. Among those interrupting Biden to bash him was Fox’s Senior Nepotistic White House correspondent, Peter Doocy. And as is required by Fox News, he offered a purposefully dishonest representation of Biden’s comments in a deceptively brief clip…

Biden: Whose side are you on?
Doocy: Compare the volume there with this measured line from the inaugural address. The President said “We can join forces, stop the shouting, and lower the temperature.” The President said, on his first day, he thinks unity is the path forward, is now telling people instead to pick a side.

There is so much wrong with that short burst of bullpucky. First of all, does Doocy really think that an analysis of the volume of Biden’s voice is some sort of profound insight? More to the point, Doocy is deliberately misrepresenting Biden’s remarks. Biden was not asking anyone to pick a side with respect to a political party, as Doocy implied. He was asking people to choose police over violent rioters; respect for the law over lawless hostility. And Doocy knows that.

For the record, here is a longer clip of Biden’s remarks that presents them in context…

“So let me say this to my MAGA Republican friends in Congress. Don’t tell me you support law enforcement if you won’t condemn what happened on [January] 6th. Can’t do it. It is also important to note that unity is not a goal that must be met unconditionally. While there is merit to uniting Americans behind efforts to improve their lives and advance the interests of the nation, no American should seek unity with violent insurrectionists, Nazis, racists, traitors, or others who reject our laws and Constitution.

Finally, there is surely no need to form a unifying bond with disgraced former presidents who steal highly sensitive national security materials, store them insecurely at their resort/hotel, and lie to the FBI about having them. Certainly we can all unify behind that.

Trump Spins a New Crackpot Conspiracy Combining an FBI Retiree, Mar-a-Lago, and Hunter Biden

He’s at it again. Donald Trump is posting feverishly on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, about the avalanche of atrocities that have been accurately attributed to him. On this Tuesday morning he has pounded out more than 60 rage fueled rants, mostly reposts of random Truth Socialists and QAnon-sense accounts. And mostly with less than a 1,000 reposts on his thinly trafficked website.

Prominent among Trump’s plaintive whining is his paranoid fixation on what he believes to be the world’s determination to destroy his MAGA dreams. His acute victimhood is now focused on a conspiracy theory about a retiring FBI agent who Trump and his cult disciples are convinced is serving some clandestine anti-Trump cabal. Trump spun a fantastical tale about a…

“‘Special Agent’ In Charge of the unprecedented and unnecessary Raid and Break In of Mar-a-Lago [who] was also involved in the hiding and suppressing from the Public and the Media, the ‘Laptop from Hell,’ the 2020 Presidential Election Scam, and so much more!”

Trump also insisted that this bogus “scandal” warranted that some amorphous, unidentified overlord “Declare [him] the rightful winner” of the 2020 election, or “have a new Election, immediately!” Which anyone modestly educated about the law and the Constitution knows that that is not how any of this works.

What Trump is referring to is a report that Agent Timothy Thibault is retiring after 25 years of service to the FBI. This exceedingly ordinary event has been clutched onto by Republicans and the wingnut press as having some sort of secret and nefarious back story. Along with Trump, they are accusing him of having been in charge of the search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bunker, as well as the investigation into Hunter Biden’s stolen laptop.

The truth, however, is quite different. Thibault is a relatively low-level staffer with the D.C. field office. He had no authority to influence either the Biden case or the investigation into Trump’s hoarding of highly sensitive national security materials at his Palm Beach resort/hotel. Also, the Biden case was actually run out of a different FBI field office and it is still ongoing.

In any case, the FBI would not have opened a politically charged case in October of 2020, so close to an election. Even Fox News reported that Thibault had nothing to do with Mar-a-Lago:

“Thibault was one of 13 assistant special agents in charge at the Washington field office. He was not involved in the FBI raid on former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate earlier this month at any level.”

Trump cultists have been busy maligning law enforcement for allegedly suppressing the probe into Hunter Biden. They complained that “Deep State” actors sought to portray the existence of his stolen laptop as Russian propaganda. However, news reports were not saying that the laptop didn’t exist, only that Russia was exploiting the story to foment distrust in American democracy. They were. And, not coincidentally, so was Donald Trump.

The Trumpies got their latest crackpot theory from an interview of Facebook boss, Mark Zuckerberg, by Joe Rogan. It’s rather telling that when Zuckerberg said that the FBI had warned him of a spike in Russian disinformation, the right-wing echo chamber immediately claimed it was about Hunter Biden, even though Zuckerberg never said that. It’s an utterly false narrative that is also being spread on Fox News…

Trump himself cited the Rogan/Zuckerberg interview as proof that, but for the “fake News” he “would have easily won the 2020 Presidential Election.” Which is a rare admission by Trump that he actually lost the election. And not because of a massive, nationwide campaign of voter fraud, but because of alleged misreporting about the travails of President Biden’s wayward son. Yeah, that’s the ticket! And with that we have hit a temporary bottom for Trump’s pathetic excuse-making. But don’t be fooled. He can still go much lower.

Lindsey Graham Tells Fox News that ‘There Will Be Riots in the Streets’ if Trump is Prosecuted

The FBI search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bunker three weeks ago has yielded abundant evidence of crimes committed by the twice-impeached, former reality TV game show host. Not only were there at least 184 classified documents, but they were stored haphazardly in a conspicuously insecure location.

Under ordinary circumstance, someone found to have unlawfully taken highly sensitive national security materials, hoarded them at his resort hotel/home, and lied to the FBI about their existence, would be indicted and prosecuted. Especially when his excuses for having done so keep changing and becoming ever more absurd. But there is nothing ordinary about Trump and his glassy-eyed cult followers.

Among the most blindly worshipful Trump disciples is Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. He is currently trying to dodge a deposition by a Grand Jury in Georgia requiring him to testify about his participation in undermining democracy and overturning the election on Trump’s behalf. And in his spare time he is visiting with Fox News to foment riots…

“If there is a prosecution of Donald Trump for mishandling classified information after the Clinton debacle, which you presided over and did a hell of a good job, there will be riots in the streets.”

Is this a threat? Is a United States senator trying to intimidate the Attorney General and other prosecutors to dissuade them from doing their jobs? Does Lindsey Graham, a former JAG lawyer, think it’s appropriate to not so subtly insinuate that if authorities go forward with legally justifiable indictments of his political ayatollah that a jihad should be ensue?

What Graham is saying is that Trump’s cult supporters are violent and can’t be relied upon to respect the law. He is validating their insurrection on January 6th and predicting that they will engage in similar acts of violence and assaults against police officers and others. And from Graham’s perverse perspective, all that is necessary for them to resort to civil rampaging is for honest prosecutors to establish that there is sufficient evidence that Trump committed crimes. This is what the so-called “law and order” party has sunken to.

Graham made this comment to Trey Gowdy, host of Fox News’ “Sunday Night in America.” Gowdy’s claim to fame is that he chaired the House committee that conducted the bogus Benghazi hearings. Of course, had no objection to Graham’s reprehensible remarks. He tacitly approved, then moved on to another subject.

For his part, Trump posted Graham’s remarks on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social without comment. He didn’t bother to condemn the suggestion of riots or to call for peace. Trump knows that he’s guilty and has no credible defense. So he is essentially affirming the threat and once again encouraging his supporters to “be wild.” Trump previously posted a comment that similarly incited violence, saying that…

“The Raid on my home, Mar-a-Lago, is one of the most egregious assaults on democracy in the history of our Country which is, by the way, going to places, in a very bad way, it has never seen before!”

First of all, there was no discernable “assault on democracy” involved in the FBI’s execution of a legally obtained search warrant. But if Trump wants an example of such an assault, he need only recall the January 6th insurrection that he incited, or his relentless and false assertions of the “Big Lie” that the 2020 election was “rigged” and “stolen” from him.

As for Trump’s threat that the nation is “going to places…it has never seen before,” he is, sadly, quite correct. But not in the way that he thinks. The threatening rhetoric by Trump, and his flunky Lindsey Graham, is emblematic of the direction that the Republican Party has taken since the advent of the Trump Cult. And Fox News is just as culpable for messages fomenting violence.

It is now up to Democrats, and other patriots, to remove these traitors from every position of public responsibility. This coming November will be the first test to see if we are up to the challenge.

Fox News Frantically Struggles to Exonerate Trump After Release of the Redacted FBI Affidavit

For nearly three weeks Donald Trump has been plaintively whining about the FBI executing a legally obtained search warrant on his Mar-a-Lago bunker. The agency was seeking to retrieve highly sensitive national security materials that Trump had unlawfully absconded with when he was evicted from the White House by the American people.

Among the complaints Trump had was a thoroughly contrived allegation that the search warrant was improperly issued by a politically biased Justice Department that Trump baselessly charged was influenced by President Biden. It was just one of many pitifully incoherent attempts by Trump to make excuses for his criminal behavior. And as the days wore on, those excuses got incrementally more bizarre.

Lacking any evidence of his self-serving accusations, Trump resorted to demanding that the Justice Department’s affidavit used to justify the search warrant be released. Which, if he were capable of learning, may have taught him the lesson about being careful what you wish for, because you just might get it.

On Friday the Justice Department did release a redacted version of the affidavit. The redactions were intended to prevent the disclosure of information that could reveal sources and methods of the FBI, or could interfere with ongoing investigations. Nevertheless, there was significant material in the release that only further incriminated Trump. For example, the affidavit confirmed that there were numerous classified documents stashed in the boxes Trump was hoarding at his Palm Beach resort hotel. According to Politico…

“[A]gents found 184 unique documents, 25 of which were marked ‘top secret,’ 92 of which were marked ‘secret,’ and 67 of which were marked ‘confidential’ [and that] some of those ‘highly classified records were unfoldered, intermixed with other records.'”

The damning evidence of Trump’s blatant violation of the law was apparent to anyone who read the affidavit. Well, anyone who wasn’t deliberately trying to absolve him of his obvious guilt, such as the propagandists at his Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News). Upon the release of the affidavit, the news manglers at Fox commenced their whitewashing.

Martha MacCallum, host of Fox’s “The Story” interviewed her Fox colleague Bret Baier (video below). She began by asking an oddly unrelated question about “Whether or not this was an effort to dig for January 6th information.” To which Baier replied that “It really is.” He then elaborated saying that…

“There is a belief that there was something bigger here that they were searching for. But the impetus for it was these classified documents and the possession of them. Even just the possession of them is a question, even though it’s a former president. There’s a lot here that we have to digest. The 1978 Presidential Records Act, and how that affects all of this. We’re gonna dig in but, gosh, there’s a lot of black.”

If there is “a belief that there was something bigger here,” it exists only in the twisted imaginations of Fox News and their glassy-eyed viewers. Also, what does Baier think is bigger than the possible treason of Trump stealing classified documents, storing them at his home, and being unable to account for who might have had access to them?

As for the Presidential Records Act, Baier appears to be parroting Trump, who has been yammering about the same thing on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Trust Social. For the record, the Presidential Records Act “Establishes that Presidential records automatically transfer into the legal custody of the Archivist as soon as the President leaves office.” In other words, a former president has no right to warehouse classified materials outside of the legal custody of the National Archives. And he surely has no right to lie to the FBI about having those materials.

However, MacCallum and Baier weren’t finished defending Trump. After describing The Former Guy’s actions as “a very Trumpian move,” MacCallum and Baier engaged in the following exchange…

MacCallum: The big question that remains is “why?”. Why was the [former] president holding on to these materials despite the fact that they continually asked for them? Why was there not an ability to make some sort of agreement about returning all of it that he could sort of be at peace with? And the reporting that he sort of felt like ‘”this is my stuff and I have the right to it.”
Baier: But why, also, wasn’t there another subpoena, another effort at interaction? Were they seeing a total stiff-arm from the Trump people? That’s not in this document yet, at least we can’t see it.

MacCallum actually made a good point at first by questioning why Trump should ever have had the documents at Mar-a-Lago in the first place. But she spoiled it by suggesting that there wasn’t a concerted effort by the FBI to retrieve the documents, which was resisted by Trump. And Trump has no rightful expectation of being “at peace” with his obligation to obey the law.

Baier went even further off the rails with his query about whether there should have been a another subpoena. That’s not how subpoenas work. If someone fails to comply with one, you don’t start issuing more. In fact, you get a search warrant, which is what the FBI did.

As more information comes out about this affair, we can expect more evidence of Trump’s guilt. And simultaneously, we can expect Fox News to continue covering for Trump. Even as some at the network are beginning to lean away from Trump, and toward potentially worse alternatives like Ron DeSantis, the network will feel compelled to soft peddle Trump’s crimes so that they don’t tarnish the already declining prospects of other republicans. It’s a tightrope that they are walking because they are trapped in Trump’s world and are too scared to walk away or – heaven forbid – tell the truth.

Trump’s Truth Social Owes its Web Hosting Service Millions and Hasn’t Made a Payment in Months

Two days after the January 6th insurrection that Donald Trump incited, Twitter permanently suspended his account “due to the risk of further incitement of violence.” Undaunted, Trump soldiered on determined to provide his glassy-eyed cult disciples with a steady stream of lies, hostility, and self-exaltation.

Trump eventually launched his own social media app, Truth Social, that was a blatant ripoff of Twitter. From its inception the venture was pure Trump, in that it was a fetid failure built on a foundation of fraud. After missing several launch dates, and racking up potential users on a waiting list of thousands, the site went live to a pitifully small audience, which didn’t stop Trump from claiming that it was “one of the hottest sites in the world.”

That, however was just the beginning of Trump’s problems. The company he started to run the site, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), and the shell company that he intended to use to get it listed on the stock exchange, Digital World Acquisition Corporation (DWAC), both became mired in legal muck.

Now, to no one’s surprise, Trump is sinking ever more into legal and financial trouble. A story published by the Fox News Business site (that’s right, Fox News) is reporting that Truth Social has failed to make payments to the web hosting service that it runs on. According to Fox Business…

“In October, RightForge announced it entered into an agreement to host Truth Social, which Trump helped create after he was banned by Twitter following the Jan. 6 riots. RightForge now contends that Truth Social has reneged on its contractually obligated monthly payments for setting up the platform’s web-servicing infrastructure, according to three people with direct knowledge of the matter.

“These people say RightForge contends that Truth Social has made just three payments and ceased making any payments since around March. RightForge claims that Truth Social owes it around $1.6 million and is threatening legal action to recoup the money, these people add.”

So in its short lifespan, Truth Social has sputtered to the starting gate, left its users hanging, lost 70% of its value (at DWAC), and is currently being investigated by a federal Grand Jury and the Securities and Exchange Commission. All of which is the predictable path of any Trump enterprise. However, the Fox Business story also notes that Trump is in even much bigger trouble personally…

“Trump himself faces mounting legal woes including a Justice Department probe over his role in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot; a New York state civil probe into the finances of the Trump Organization, his real estate and branding business; and, most recently, a DOJ probe into whether he mishandled classified documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate that led to the recent FBI raid.”

And if all of that isn’t bad enough, Axios is reporting that Truth Social’s trademark application has been denied. Apparently, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office “found two other companies who already use the Truth Social wording.”

That suggests a measure of laziness and/or incompetence that could only be achieved by Trump. After all, he can’t even get the name of his web site correct…

Lara Trump Admits on Fox News that Her Sugardaddy-In-Law Interfered with Justice Dept Business

The fallout from the recent FBI search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bunker continues to make waves. With each new day there is accumulating evidence of his criminality and intentional hoarding of highly sensitive national security materials at his insecure Palm Beach resort hotel.

In addition to the unfolding disclosures that Trump had personal knowledge that he was improperly refusing to return the documents upon demand – and even lying to the FBI that he had them – Trump has floated a shipload of increasingly preposterous excuses for his malfeasance and comically bizarre allegations against others.

On Thursday morning, Lara Trump, spouse of Trump spawn Eric, assumed her position as a Fox News contributor. She was interviewed on Fox and Friends by Katie Pavlich about the stolen documents and made a rather unsurprising, but still grossly disturbing, confession. Pavlich opened the interview by asking “Do you believe Joe Biden when he says he had no prior knowledge of the raid?”

First of all, it’s President Biden. Secondly, who cares if Lara Trump believes him? Her belief has no legal or political value. And everyone already knows that she wouldn’t admit to believing anything that Biden says. So what is the point of the question? Finally, it was not a raid. It was a legally sanctioned search approved by a federal judge upon affirmation of probable cause. And it resulted in the recovery of illegally stolen, classified documents.

That said, Lara Trump began her reply predictably, and falsely, by opining that “I don’t believe anyone believes Joe Biden.” She followed that up by babbling about Hunter Biden, inflation, and other unrelated drivel that she doesn’t believe. Then Lara launched into this nonsensical spiel…

“It’s ridiculous to assume the current president did not know about an FBI raid from his own Department of Justice on the last president and a person that he may be running against in the upcoming 2024 election. What an outrageous statement from Joe Biden. I don’t think anyone believes that. And if you do believe that, then who is in charge of the White House? Who is making these calls? It is very concerning on all fronts and completely insane.”

The reason that Trump thinks it’s “ridiculous to assume” that Biden knew about the search is because during her father-in-law’s occupation of the White House it was routine to interfere with Department of Justice operations. He pressured, threatened, and even fired his Attorneys General and FBI directors in order to get his way. So naturally, Lara can’t comprehend that other presidents actually have integrity and respect the independence of the DoJ and and the FBI.

Lara goes on to imply that the President, being “in charge of the White House,” is therefore making calls with regard to politically-charged law enforcement activities. She insists that it would be “completely insane” to assume otherwise. The truth, however, is that those calls are reserved for Justice Department officials who are expected to consider only the law and refrain from politicizing their duties. Lara is tacitly admitting that that was not the practice during Donald’s tenure.

What’s more, Lara can’t seem to make up her mind as to whether Biden is a senile incompetent who doesn’t know what day it is, or a brilliant mastermind who controls every lever of the government. It’s a distinction that Daddy Trump is also incapable of making. In recent days he has been accusing Biden of the same improper interference that Lara is harping on. He posted a comment on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social that alleged that…

“Joe Biden said he knew nothing about the Break-In of Mar-a-Lago or, the greatest political attack in the history of the U.S. Does anybody really believe this???”

To answer Trump’s question – Yes, lots of people believe this. Millions of them, in fact. The only ones who don’t are his blindly obedient cult followers who have open disdain for the law, the Constitution, and long-cherished American principles.

But Trump is lucky to have such glassy-eyed disciples who will never question his wrongdoing, even when he – and his Fox News employed Daughter-in-law – admit to it on national television. And he’s lucky to have Fox News where they ask the same perverse questions that Trump himself asks.

Fox News Hack Peter Doocy Channels Trump Asking Biden About the FBI Search of Mar-a-Lago

President Biden on Wednesday released his plan to provide student loan forgiveness for low to middle income Americans. It’s a broadly popular initiative favored by a significant majority (60%) of voters, including 45% of Republicans. Even those who never incurred such debts approve of the relief.

True to form, the Republican Party demonstrated their knee-jerk opposition to the plan, just as they oppose any program that benefits average citizens, rather than the corporations and wealthy oligarchs who bankroll the GOP.

Meanwhile, the Republican’s Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News) rose to the occasion to deflect from this good news story by showing up at Biden’s press conference and attempting to hijack it with a story that they thought they could frame more negatively. it was an overt act of desperation on the part of partisans who know they are losing.

When Biden called on Fox’s White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, to ask a question, Doocy ignored the subject at hand and went off on a wild tangent that, in the end, made him look like the “Stupid Son of a B*tch” that Biden once playfully called him:

Doocy’s question was not only utterly irrelevant to the day’s topic, it appeared to have been dictated by Donald Trump. The day before Biden’s student loan announcement, Trump posted a comment on his floundering Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that alleged that the White House was “involved” with the FBI’s search from the beginning…

“The White House stated strongly that they were NOT INVOLVED, and knew absolutely nothing about, the political Witch Hunt going on with me, & that they didn’t know anything at all about the Break-In of Mar-a-Lago. This was strongly reiterated again & again. WRONG! Remember, these are the people who spied on my campaign, denied it, & got caught. Through the great reporting of John Solomon (Fake Pulitzer Prize?), documents reveal they knew everything, in fact led the charge – a political NO, NO!”

Trump based his allegations on documents made public by the wholly disreputable Trump propagandist, John Solomon. However, what Solomon produced didn’t in any way support the charge that Biden knew of the search in advance. In fact, it actually further incriminated Trump. What’s more, Trump’s rant repeated the long ago debunked charge that he was spied on.

There’s a reason that Fox News and Trump are trying so hard to be distracting and disruptive. They know that the American people are responding to the positive agenda that Democrats are pursuing and accomplishing under difficult circumstances. And they know that they can’t compete with the agenda of fear and negativity upon which they are fixated. Their record of saying “NO” to the things that the American people want isn’t going to help them in the midterms, or beyond. And the more that Democrats get out their positive message, the more likely they will be to prevail. All they need to do is juxtapose the following two memes…

Tucker Carlson of Fox News Says People Who Don’t Vote In Person Shouldn’t Be Allowed to Vote

The 2022 midterm elections are now only 78 days away. And Republicans are getting nervous considering the trending of polls that show Democrats gaining ground in both the House and the Senate races coming up.

Among the reasons for the Democrats’ optimism are the legislative victories they have enjoyed, passing bills on infrastructure, economic relief, healthcare, tax reform, climate change, gun safety, and more. President Biden is also presiding over lowering gas prices and easing inflation.

What’s more, the House committee investigating the January 6th insurrection is having a profound impact on Donald Trump’s already toxic reputation. For his part, Trump isn’t helping himself by having stolen sensitive national security materials from the White House and hiding them at his Mar-a-Lago bunker.

Consequently, Republicans need to fortify their electoral flank by poisoning the political environment with fallacious allegations of fraud before a single vote has been cast. And naturally, the GOP’s Ministry of Disinformation, Fox News, is taking the lead.

On Friday’s episode of Tucker Carlson’s program he had a segment on the United States Postal Service, which he characterized as engaging in a nefarious plot of some sort. He warned that…

“The Postal Service is now actually taking an active and explicit role in our elections, but not on behalf of Trump. They have created a dedicated division to ‘handle election mail’ ahead of the 2020 [sic] midterms.”

OMG! The mail meanies are scheming to “handle election mail,” and worst of all, it is “not on behalf of Trump!” Even more alarming is that they are traveling back in time to meddle with the 2020 election. Carlson went on to foment more fear, asking…

“Why is there any mail-in balloting? If you can’t be bothered to get to the polls, why do you have a right to participate in democracy? I don’t understand. It’s just an invitation to fraud. they support it because it allows fraud. Why are Republicans putting up with this?”

So Carlson has an array of citizens whom he wants to stop from voting. They include the elderly, and the disabled, and soldiers, and students, and travelers. It also includes every resident of Colorado, Hawaii, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington, where they have only mail-in voting. And Carlson’s guest, conspiracy crackpot Chuck Devore, weighed in saying that…

“I don’t think people should be trusting the Postal service with their mail-in ballots […because…] you can send people to the house of voters and ‘help’ them with their ballots to make sure that they vote for the right people.”

Never mind that there is no evidence of this happening. It is likely something that Republicans do, so they assume that Democrats are doing it as well. There is also no evidence of mail-in voter fraud outside of a scattering of incidents that, as noted, usually involve Republican vote scammers.

The truth is that Carlson, Fox News, and the Republican Party know that Democrats are more likely to avail themselves of mail-in and early voting. That’s partly because Donald Trump has demonized the practice and made his cult followers suspicious of it. He did this despite the findings of his own administration that concluded there was no widespread voter fraud.

Trump, of course, is not above hypocrisy. While he frequently demands that only in-person voting should be permitted, he himself votes by mail. And he even advocates it for others when he thinks it will benefit him.

It’s a good thing that Carlson doesn’t get to decide who can and cannot vote. Unfortunately, there are too many GOP state legislatures who can decide. And they have been working tirelessly to suppress the votes of Democrats through gerrymandering and oppressive election processes.

As a result, Democrats have a huge burden to carry if they want to realize the gains that recent polling is showing for them. So those polls must not be an excuse to celebrate and relax. They must be motivation to work harder than ever to get patriotic Americans to vote on November 8th and save our democracy. And as an added incentive, the more people who vote by mail, the more Tucker Carlson (and Trump, and Fox News, and the GOP) will cry about being the losers that they are.
