Trump Escalates His Threat to Take Greenland By Force in an Absolutely Insane Truth Social Rant

The legacy of Donald Trump is going to be jam-packed with the most profoundly preposterous actions and rhetoric of any president in the history of the United States – or any other nation for that matter. His wild outbursts attacking everything from previous presidents, to the free press, to windmills that kill birds and cause cancer, make life difficult for political comedians whose humor can’t compete with Trump’s insanity.

However, Trump’s actions as president are far worse than his words. He has imposed inflationary tariffs on virtually every country on the planet, including our allies. He has terminated international aid that has resulted in hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths. He invaded Venezuela and abducted its president who he calls a drug trafficker, while granting pardons to certified, convicted drug kingpins. He has deployed soldiers into American cities to suppress constitutionally protected dissent. And for that abridged selection of Trump’s many malfeasances, he believes that he should be anointed president-for-life…

If any further proof were needed that Trump is suffering from a severe case of mental impairment, Trump himself provided it on Saturday morning. He posted a tediously elongated tirade, intended to justify his deranged obsession with taking over Greenland, on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. It’s too long and filled with bullshit to repost. But what follows are a few annotated excerpts that provide a summary of just how far the cognitive rot has eaten into Trump’s mushy brain matter. He begins…

“We have subsidized Denmark, and all of the Countries of the European Union, and others, for many years by not charging them Tariffs.”
Not charging tariffs is not the same as subsidizing. To the contrary, charging tariffs is commonly regarded as a sanction. which is exactly how Trump is using them in this instance by his own admission.

“It is time for Denmark to give back — World Peace is at stake! China and Russia want Greenland.”
Denmark doesn’t owe the U.S. anything. And world peace is hardly at stake because Greenland is a territory of an American ally in NATO. Also, Russia and China have exhibit no interest in Greenland, and if they did they would face international resistance from the NATO alliance.

“They [Greenland] currently have two dogsleds as protection.”
Trump thinks this is funny. In reality Greenland has been successfully affiliated with Denmark for 300 years (longer than the U.S. has existed). And Denmark is well equipped with modern maritime and air power technologies, including a fleet of American F-35 fighter jets.

“Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Finland have journeyed to Greenland, for purposes unknown. This is a very dangerous situation. Therefore, it is imperative that, in order to protect Global Peace and Security, strong measures be taken.”
Trump is openly threatening an array of American allies. Which actually makes him the provocateur of a “dangerous situation.” Is he talking about the same “measures” he used against Venezuela?

“Starting on February 1st, 2026, all of the above mentioned Countries (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, and Finland), will be charged a 10% Tariff on any and all goods sent to the United States of America. On June 1st, 2026, the Tariff will be increased to 25%.”
So Trump is threatening to rescind his prior trade agreements that he made with these nations, and instead punish them for adhering to the long held NATO treaty obligations that the U.S. is also subject to. These tariffs will only make the cost of living hardships in the U.S. – which are due to Trump’s already atrocious economic policies – even worse.

“This Tariff will be due and payable until such time as a Deal is reached for the Complete and Total purchase of Greenland.”
In Trump’s mob boss lingo, he thinks that he is extorting America’s allies to coerce them into complying with his utterly unreasonable demands. “Give me what I want,” Trump is yalping, “or pay up.” But he is actually just forcing American companies and consumers to pay more for everything imported from these countries.

True to form, Trump is demonstrating how pitifully ignorant he is of economics and international relations. But unfortunately, it is the citizens of the U.S., and these foreign targets of Trump’s egomaniacal wrath, who will suffer.

There is, however, some good news. The suffering that Trump is causing may not be long lasting. Everything he is doing lately is contributing to his being the most reviled president in decades. And as his approval ratings sink into the abyss, his comrades in Congress will begin to fear the voters more than they fear him. At that point – and we may be there now – Trump will be vulnerable to political defiance, sanctions, and even impeachment. Particularly if he takes hostile actions toward Greenland. Or Minneapolis, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, Portland, etc.

Does Trump’s Latest Truth Social Post Constitutionally Disqualify Him From Serving as President?

The evidence that Donald Trump has committed an ever growing number of high crimes and misdemeanors that would justify his being impeached for the third time is abundant and readily available for all to see. He isn’t even bothering to disguise it anymore, or to excuse it as inappropriate for an aspiring authoritarian like himself.

Donald Trump Walking the Plank

Trump’s recent impeachable escapades include his invasion of Venezuela, his investigation of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, his illegal and inflationary tariffs, his targeting Democratic led states for funding cuts, his failing to release the Epstein files, his conducting business with foreign, adversarial governments, hid selling pardons, his suppressing free speech and the freedom of the press, and too many more to enumerate. It’s a record that illustrates just how dangerous he is to American national security.

SEE THIS: Trump On Why He Can’t Be Trusted With Government Data: ‘When People Give Me Things I Post Them’

On Sunday night Trump posted a comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, that may be his most blatant breach of presidential ethics yet, and poses a real question about whether he can continue to serve in the office of the presidency. What he posted was a graphic in which he declared himself to be the “Acting President of Venezuela.”

Trump posts that he’s “Acting President of Venezuela”

That declaration poses a troubling constitutional problem for Trump. Not that he cares. But Article I, Section 9, Clause 8, of the Constitution (within the Emoluments Clause) states that…

“No Title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States: And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State”.

By declaring himself the acting president of Venezuela, Trump is accepting a “Title” from a foreign state. That’s a crystal clear example of the sort of conflict of interest that the Founding Fathers sought to prohibit when they drafted the Constitution. Trump’s coronation of himself as Venezuela’s president implies accepting a foreign office “without the Consent of the Congress.” And accepting such a foreign role under those circumstances could make him constitutionally ineligible to continue in U.S. office.

The questions of where Trump’s loyalties lie are inescapable. He is already claiming to be taking over Venezuela’s oil industry and he posted that “This Oil will be sold at its Market Price, and that money will be controlled by me.” Which isn’t exactly a pledge of allegiance to America.

Technically the Emoluments Clause does not trigger an automatic removal from office. but it does present legitimate grounds for impeachment. Trump cannot reasonably perform the duties of the president of Venezuela while occupying the White House here at home. Hell, he can’t perform the duties of president of the United States even without the added burden of Venezuela.

Trump either needs to resign one of those offices, get an approval from Congress, or be removed involuntarily. The latter could be accomplished by either impeachment or the invocation of the 25th Amendment. But that would require a combination of courage and patriotism on the part of Congress. And that isn’t going to happen without pressure from the people. So once again, we are the ones we’ve been waiting for. 8647! NOW!
