Trump is Caught Lying that His ‘Justice’ Department ‘Caught a Massive Number of Illegal Votes’

In the closing days of the 2026 midterm election the predictions of a historic Blue Tsunami are being affirmed by virtually all of the late campaign polls. Recognizing that polls are not votes, Democrats are continuing to campaign throughout the country to insure victory.

Donald Trump

Republicans, on the other hand, are behaving as if they already know that they’ve lost. They are canceling rallies and resorting to outrageously unbelievable smears in a desperate attempt to tarnish their Democratic opponents. That’s especially true with Donald Trump, who is the MAGA Party’s role model for offensiveness. He’s just not very good at it.

On Saturday Trump was busying himself with his primary presidential duty: Posting asinine comments on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. Mixed in among the 83 comments that he posted before dinnertime on Halloween, was one wherein he whined about not being able to convince the courts that his claims of election fraud weren’t total bullshit.

Trump began this comment complaining that his Acting U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Essayli, wasn’t getting anywhere with his bogus charges of illegal immigrants voting. For one thing, Essayli had already been ruled by a federal judge to have been serving in the position unlawfully. Trump went right past that to dispense another in his long litany of lies…

“So, in Los Angeles, our Acting U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California…caught a massive number of Illegal Votes, 20,000, but potentially Hundreds of Thousands, and maybe even Millions, and the Court has just ruled against it. Why would they reject fixing Election Fraud?”

Trump wants to know “Why would they reject fixing Election Fraud?” One reason might be because Trump and his legal flunkies didn’t actually find any election fraud. Not millions. Not hundreds of thousands, Not 20,000. Not any. In fact, an independent study found that 40% of the names on Trump’s lists weren’t even on the California voter rolls. The study also found thousands of U.S. citizens on Trump’s list of alleged non-citizens. If Trump got his way, these lawful Americans would have been prevented from voting.

Undeterred by the law, or reality, Trump posted his lament about losing his bid to rig the California election. Why he’s bothering with a reliably blue state like California is anyone’s guess. But he suffered a decisive loss that explicitly prohibited him from interfering with, or threatening, state election officials…

“A California judge late Friday ordered the federal government to stop demanding that state and local election officials separate out ballots or not count certain votes from alleged noncitizens, and to stop threatening officials with criminal prosecution if they do not comply. […]

“The judge on Friday found federal officials have likely violated the Voting Rights Act of 1965’s prohibition on ‘attempting to intimidate, threaten or coerce’ people who help others vote.”

If Trump and his MAGA comrades had any confidence that they were going to prevail in the election on November 4, they wouldn’t be so obsessively focused on trying to manufacture legal remedies that have no legal merit. Their actions tell the story of their despair.

Nevertheless, Democrats must be vigilant and determined in their response. Take nothing for granted. Keep fighting – and keep voting – until election day. We’ve been burned before.
