Karoline Leavitt: Everyone Should Watch Trump’s Speech Because Nobody Knows What He’ll Say

The most media adverse president in American history, Donald Trump, is asking the media (again) to preempt their most valuable, regularly scheduled, primetime programs, to air what will undoubtedly be a purely partisan political temper tantrum by Trump. If they are smart, they’ll say “NO!”

While a transcript of the speech has not been provided, insiders are reporting that Trump is planning to talk about election integrity generally, and specifically about his unwavering delusion that the 2020 presidential election was “rigged and stolen” from him. And he is promising to present evidence to support his claims. But if it’s anything like past presentations of evidence, be prepared to laugh your ass off.

In a teaser for Trump’s televised tirade, his Propaganda Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, is titillating viewers with the prospect that “The truth is, nobody knows yet what President Trump will ultimately say, which is why everyone should tune in.”

What a brilliant display of showmanship. Leavitt is enticing people to watch because Trump is so insanely unpredictable that virtually anything might happen, and you sure don’t want to miss it, whatever it is. Maybe he’ll confess to being the real Hannibal Lecter. Maybe he’ll shoot an arrow at an apple on JD Vance’s head. Who knows?

The problem is that Leavitt couldn’t be more wrong. In fact, no one is more predictable than Trump. It is easy to plot out what he will say in this address. He will (in no particular order) declare that he has totally defeated Iran (for the umpteenth time), brag about having glamorously renovated the White House and the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, presided over the strongest economy in history, and denigrate America’s ungrateful allies.

Eventually Trump will get around to how the 2020 election was a fraud, and explain why his so-called “Save America Act” (aka Voter Suppression Act) is so essential to the survivability of the nation. And he will finally offer the evidence that proves it. Never mind that he hasn’t bothered to do that for the past six years. And he lost more than 60 court cases challenging the legitimacy of the election.

What’s more, if he actually has any evidence, why is he going to present on a TV speech, rather than to a Grand Jury or other prosecutorial authority that could investigate, subpoena witnesses, and file charges? Legitimate evidence isn’t delivered via courtroom versions “Dancing with the Judges.”

During Leavitt’s Thursday morning White House press briefing she conceded to knowing what Trump’s speech would be about. And she made a point of alerting the press and the nation that “It will shock you.” Partly because…

“The media has refused to acknowledge that tens of millions of Americans across the country share the concerns of this president about the sanctity of our elections.”

Of course the reason that those Americans – a distinct minority made up of MAGA cultists – have such concerns is that their Dear Leader Trump told them to. Then Leavitt added that everything Trump says “will be backed by facts and by evidence that will be provided this evening.” So will Mike Lindell be there with him. Or Rudy Giuliani? Or Todd Blanche? Or Kash Patel so he can rush off to make some arrests with conveniently assembled camera crews?

Suffice to say that this will be just another Trump boondoggle that he hopes will get some of the attention that is generally given to other phony television reality shows. There will be no bona fide news, other than the news that Trump has humiliated himself again. Which at this point is becoming somewhat redundant. And any broadcast network that carries the speech live is admitting that they just don’t practice journalism anymore.

UPDATE: As of 7:30 EST CNN, NBC, and ABC have confirmed that will not be airing Trump’s speech live. They will air air it in full on their streaming platforms, with fact checking. Further updates will be made when CBS and FOX (the MAGA nets) announce.

Trump Flunky Todd Blanche Won’t Admit He’s Trump’s Friend, But Does Admit that ‘I’m His Lawyer’

The long awaited confirmation hearing for Todd Blanche to become Donald Trump’s next Attorney General, and official “Justice” Department apologist, took place on Wednesday. And to no one’s surprise it was a contentious affair that featured Blanche getting fluffed by glassy-eyed Republican MAGA cultists, and grilled by righteously outraged Democrats.

The nomination of Blanche is a particularly egregious abuse of power by Trump, whose sole criteria for the post of Attorney Genuflect is how loyal he will be to Trump, rather than to the Constitution or the American people. Among the prerequisites is adhering to the preposterous belief that Trump won the presidential election in 2020.

Throughout the hearing Blanche steadfastly demonstrated his allegiance to Trump in the most humiliating manner. His devotion was bluntly displayed in the answer he gave to Republican Senator John Kennedy in the following exchange…

Kennedy: Are you and president Trump friends?
Blanche: I’m his lawyer…was his lawyer. I’m not sure there are very many people who have ever had a criminal defense attorney who calls that person their friend.

In that response Blanche not only carelessly let it slip that he is still Trump’s lawyer, but he didn’t actually deny being his friend as well. Only that it would unusual. But then, nothing is “usual” about Trump and his relationships. And his relationship with Blanche includes this affectionate moment a few weeks ago when Blanche drooled that…

“If [Trump] chooses to nominate somebody else and asks me to go do something else, I will say ‘Thank you very much. I love you sir.'”

So Trump and Blanche are actually more than friends. Trump’s lover was challenged by Democrats on a multitude of issues that exposed his disqualifying biases and inability to be impartial with regard to his Dear Leader and love interest Trump. Among those issues were…

  • Failing to meet with Jeffrey Epstein’s victims or releasing all the files.
  • Moving Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell to a low security, Camp Fed prison.
  • Supporting Trump’s pardons of hundreds of January 6th insurrectionists, many of whom assaulted police officers.
  • Closing investigations into the ICE murders of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.
  • Presiding over the firing of prosecutors and FBI agents who investigated Trump.
  • Consideration of indicting Trump’s special counsel Jack Smith for perjury.
  • Outlawing the abortion medication mifepristone.
  • Backing Kash Patel despite his alleged improprieties with alcohol, women, and personal travel.
  • Dining with Paramount owners David and Larry Ellison while their merger was still being analyzed.
  • Refusal to show justification for the 66 strikes on boats in the Caribbean that have killed more than 220 people.
  • Pleading ignorance of the $50,000 the FBI reported it gave to ICE boss Tom Homan.
  • Approving Trump’s $ 1.7 billion slush fund as a settlement with the IRS.

Any two or three of those would be more than enough to justify denying Blanche confirmation. But the entire collection is a repulsive resume that represents a historically unfit nominee for Attorney General, or any position of power in government. And yet, most of the Republicans on the Judiciary Committee will vote to confirm Blanche anyway. And if he makes it out of Committee, most of the Republicans in the Senate will do the bidding of Trump.

That doesn’t mean that Blanche’s confirmation is sealed. The partisan split in the Senate is so tight that it would only take a couple of Republicans to show some courage and patriotism to ditch this scoundrel. We’ll see if they can muster that courage when it counts.

The form that the Trumpist retreat is taking is a replication of the “Red Scare” of the 1950s, when Republicans saw communists in every shadow and around every corner preparing to pounce on vulnerable Americans and infecting them with the poison of Pinko propaganda. Trump himself posted a comment on his own personal propaganda platform, Truth Social, proposing to outlaw political thought and speech that he doesn’t like. Just like his hero Vladimir Putin does in Russia.

Taking his orders from Dear Leader Trump, House Squeaker MAGA Mike Johnson is mow also fear mongering about scary, but imaginary, communists. Johnson’s morning press briefing was a full blown “commies are on your doorstep plotting to kill and your family” tirade. He let loose a blast of explosive diarhetorical bombast warning that the long-fabled “red scare” is upon us, and our literal survival is at stake. He said in part (because in full it’s too tedious and insane) that…

“These crazy little Mamdanis who are popping up all around the country, they are a danger to you and your family. This is not a game…So we are here as the Republican Party to stand on the founding principles of the greatest nation in the history of the world. It is our duty to do that.

“And we’re doing it on behalf of all of you. Even the journalists who don’t agree with our policies all the time. You better agree on these principles because that’s what keeps you free. By the way, it’s what keeps the press free, okay? This is essential for your well-being and your family…We’re arguing whether or not freedom is going to survive…We’re in a war.”

OH NOES! Not “crazy little Mamdanis” popping up all the place. Never mind that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is one of the most popular public figures in America today. That’s what makes them such a threat to me and my family, in the eyes of Trump’s MAGA-tists.

That’s pretty frightening, isn’t it? But Johnson’s alarm at what he sees as threats to the free press is even more frightening. Not because there is anything rational about it. But because he is so utterly oblivious to the actual threats that Trump poses to the media.

Trump has been referring to the free press in Stalinist terms as “the enemy of the people,” for years. He has filed dozens of lawsuits intended to punish and intimidate any journalists who dare to report honestly about him. He shepherds corporations run by sycophantic, right-wing, billionaires through the regulatory hurdles that Trump controls in his administration. He has even had journalists arrested for accurately reporting his documented words and deeds.

Ironically, Trump is the one who is implementing communist-like control over the “means of production” by taking a role in corporate mergers, demanding multimillion dollar payments from corporations seeking government favors, forcing corporations to sell parts of the businesses to the government, and defunding public media such as PBS, NPR, and Radio Free America.

What’s more, Trump and his radical, totalitarian, comrades couldn’t even define communism. They just use the word as an all-purpose pejorative to whip up fear in their equally ignorant cult followers. So they call all Democrats – and particularly Social Democrats – communists. But in reality, Democratic Socialists are in the mainstream of American politics. They are responsible for things like Social Security, interstate highways, public libraries, Obamacare, and more.

It’s not a coincidence that those are among the most popular programs in the nation’s history. And that’s another thing that frightens the MAGA-tists and Trump. It leaves him so discombobulated that he does pitiful and preposterous things like this…

Putin Prodigy Trump Calls to Criminalize Democratic Socialism and Deport Its Leaders

The desperation of Donald Trump is revealing itself in ever more obvious and troubling ways. Despite his notable mental impairment, it is difficult to believe that he isn’t aware of just how unpopular he and his policies are. If were were truly as oblivious as he appears, he wouldn’t be acting out with such frenzied panic as his electoral prospects deteriorate.

As the midterm elections approach, Trump is escalating his war on democracy. He has installed a political crony, Bill Pulte, in the position of acting Director of National Intelligence for the express purpose of weaponizing the agency in order to obstruct Democrats from voting in November. He is also pressuring Republicans in Congress to pass his phony “Save America Act” (aka Voter Suppression Act) by any means necessary, and for the same purpose.

However, Trump may feel that he wasn’t making himself clear on his intentions to subvert free and fair democratic elections. So he took the additional step of posting a comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, to clarify his his commitment to totalitarian rule. The comment said simply “DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISM MUST BE CRIMINALIZED; LEADERS DEPORTED.”

Trump is reacting to the recent electoral victories of progressive Democrats that he ignorantly calls “communists.” But now he has escalated his reaction to an outright advocacy of criminalizing political thought that he doesn’t like. Just like his hero Vladimir Putin does in Russia. The fact that Trump thinks it’s appropriate to outlaw political speech, and punish people with whom he disagrees, should outrage American patriots who cherish the Constitution and the principles it embodies.

That wasn’t the only outrageous commentary by Trump today. He also addressed his war against Iran that he is losing. In another Truth Social comment he raged that…

“The Hormuz Strait is OPEN [but also that] We are reinstating the THE IRANIAN BLOCKADE [and that the U.S.A] will be reimbursed, at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped.”

So Trump is declaring (for the umpteenth time) that the Strait of Hormuz is open. But at the same time he declares that he is blockading it. And to make matters worse, he announces that the U.S. will charging 20% on all cargo for every ship that seeks to pass through the Strait. That, however. is not keeping it open. Rather, it is holding it hostage. And even though he has no legal jurisdiction to follow through, he issues the threat that will impede trade and raise the cost of all products that traverse the Strait.

Finally, Trump’s dementia is flaring up in a big way. He also posted a comment on Truth Social declaring – without any link to a corroborating source – that he has a “59% Approval Rating.” But it appears that he mixed up reports that were actually of his disapproval rating. There are no surveys that put him anywhere near 59% approval. On the other hand, there are many that found his disapproval at that level. (Click on this tweet for more polls).

You would be really hard pressed to find better examples of cognitive incoherence. It would be bad enough if it were your uncle. But it’s totally intolerable for the president of the United States. And yet, Trump’s MAGA confederates continue to tolerate it. Hopefully they won’t be around to fluff their Dear Leader after the midterm elections.

WTF? After Lauding Lindsey Graham, Trump Rants ‘We’re Trying to Have CNN Go On a Normal Path’?

The unexpected passing of South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham has produced the highly expected eulogizes and criticisms that occur whenever a prominent political figure checks out. Graham was a complex character who once called Donald Trump a “jackass” and “a race-baiting bigot,” who was “unfit for office,” before becoming a devoted Trump sycophant.

For his part, Trump wasn’t always so complimentary toward Graham either. As usual, when anyone disagrees with Trump about anything, they become his enemy. That was the case when Trump and Graham had a difference of opinion on abortion and Trump complained that “Graham should spend more time focusing on…the millions of people dying in senseless, never-ending Wars that he constantly favors and promotes.”

Now that Graham has shuffled off this mortal coil, Trump is predictably exploiting his passing for his own political benefit. During an interview with Jake Tapper on CNN, Trump expressed his desire to to reign tyrannically over the media…

Tapper: I know you don’t want to talk about any other issues out of respect for Lindsey Graham, but we would love to have you back sometime because I do have a lot of other questions for you.
Trump: Sure. We will do that. We’re trying to have CNN go on a normal path.’

TAPPER: I know you don't want to talk about any other issues out of respect for Lindsey Graham, but we would love to have you back sometime bc I do have a lot of other questionsTRUMP: Sure. We're trying to have CNN go on a normal pathT: I'm on a normal path right here, sirTRUMP: Good. You are.

REALLY? Trump says the quiet part out loud again. His intention to “have CNN go on a normal path,” means that the network transforms into another Fox News with its pending acquisition by his billionaire pals, David and Larry Ellison. His definition of “normal” isn’t normal. And he isn’t shy about admitting his aspirations to reign over the media the way his idols in Russia and North Korea do.

However, Trump wasn’t finished “grieving” over the loss of his cult disciple. Trump had the following exchange with Tapper later In the same segment:

Tapper: The US and Iran have been engaging back in forth in strikes over the last few days and overnight. Are we back at war? And who controls the Strait of Hormuz?
Trump: Well, out of respect for Lindsey, I’m not talking about that. We hit them very hard last night. So I don’t want to talk about it. But I will say we hit them very hard last night. We had a deal with them yesterday. They were giving up everything. Then all of a sudden two hours after that they hit a ship with a drone. And I said ‘these people, there’s something wrong with them.’

Notice that Tapper asked Trump a question about Iran, a war that Lindsey Graham strongly supported and wanted to escalate. Trump says that “Out of respect for Lindsey, I’m not talking about it.” Then he just keeps talking about it anyway. So respectful. How about having some respect for the American people who oppose the war?

In addition to that, Trump also used Graham’s demise to boost his crusade for his “Save America Act,” aka the Voter Suppression Act. Trump said that…

“Where he was really becoming strong was the SAVE America Act. And I think he was gonna be there very strongly on the filibuster. He was against terminating the filibuster. And I think he was doing that because he said we have a budget coming up, and we have debt ceiling coming up. And the Democrats are deranged, and they’re not gonna be able to do it. And he was coming aboard, I think for the filibuster, terminating the filibuster.”

Notice here that Trump told Tapper that Graham “was against terminating the filibuster.” Then, 14 seconds later says that “He was coming aboard for, I think, terminating the filibuster.” Which is about as grossly exploitive of the recently departed as you can get. Trump was literally putting words into a dead man’s mouth to selfishly help himself politically.

Not to worry though. Trump just wants for CNN go on a normal path. Where normal means making everything – including the mortality of your friends and colleagues – about yourself and what you want for your own benefit. Which has been a core personality trait of Trump’s for as long as he has been in the public eye. Some things never change.

Trump actually has a perverse love/hate relationship with the media. He hates them when they report the truth about him. But he loves being the center of attention. He never lets his aversion to the Constitution’s protection of the free press get in the way of his exploitation of it. While he blames it for all of his problems, he also clings to positive news about himself, if he’s making it up…

Trump’s assault on the First Amendment has taken many disturbing forms. He frequently sues journalists and media companies as a means of punishing them for their honest reporting. And he orders his federal agencies to clamp down on companies that have the audacity to reveal his personal and professional flaws. Which is what just happened with his “Justice” Department issuing subpoenas to several New York Times reporters. As reported by the Times…

“The Trump administration issued subpoenas on Friday to several journalists for The New York Times, after the news outlet reported this week on security concerns involving President Trump’s new Qatari-donated Air Force One. […] The subpoenas — which seek to force the reporters to testify before a federal grand jury in Manhattan on Wednesday — were an extraordinary escalation in President Trump’s efforts to threaten and intimidate independent news organizations.”

The Times noted that “the subpoenas contain few specifics,” other than demanding that the journalists testify before a Grand Jury “in regard to an alleged violation of federal criminal law” having something to do with a Times story about Trump departing Turkey on the “old” Air Force One because of “a security precaution at the urging of the Secret Service.”

Trump’s press office responded to the Times’story by insisting that it was false. It was, however, a legitimate story that exposed the carelessness of the Trump administration and it’s lack of concern for operational security. They claimed that Trump switched planes and diverted the new Qatari bribe jet to a military base in England because some soldiers there really wanted to see it (yeah, right).

Therefore, any allegation that the Times broke a law, or that the leaker did, is moot. You can’t be accused of leaking sensitive or classified information if what you wrote wasn’t actually sensitive or classified. And according to the Trump propaganda team it wasn’t. So either Trump and company are lying, or there was no violation of the law.

What’s more, the Times’ story was published after Trump switched to the properly secured Air Force One from the Qatari bribe jet, and was already safely at home. and you can’t be accused of endangering the president if what you wrote was published entirely after the fact, and there was no risk to the president.

To the contrary, the Times actually made the president safer by insuring that the Qatari jet would not be used by the president unless and until it is properly upgraded to Secret Service standards. Consequently, the Times responded to the subpoenas in a blunt statement by their attorney, David McCraw:

“The appearance of federal law enforcement agents on the doorstep of news reporters should shock the conscience of any American who believes in the Constitution and the press freedom it protects. Our journalists report the facts and advance the American public’s right to know how their government is operating and their taxpayer dollars are being used. This brazen act should be seen as nothing more than an attempt to prevent the public from knowing what is happening in their country by intimidating journalists from doing their jobs.”

The morning after this legal brouhaha Trump once again lashed out at the media. He posted a tediously long and incoherent comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, attacking New York Times reporters, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, in his typically infantile manner, saying in part that…

“Maggot Hagerman has covered me incorrectly for ten years. Her book is a joke! 90% of it is Fake News…Maggot is a loser! […] Anyway, don’t buy their book, it’s garbage!”

For the record, Haberman and Swan’s book “Regime Change” is currently #1 on Amazon. Trump went on in this comment to boast that he has “just finished a perfect physical at Walter Reed, I do it every six months, and I requested another Cognitive Test.” There are reasons that he needs to take annual physicals three or four times a year, along with repeated cognitive tests. Doctors wouldn’t do them if he wasn’t showing signs of mental impairment.

Trump followed up that comment with an even longer and less coherent harangue, whining about “The Failing New York Times,” along with the Wall Street Journal, MS NOW, CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC. Adding that they should all just say that “We give up, we can’t beat him.” Which is wishful thinking on his part. He wouldn’t be freaking out this badly if he weren’t really afraid of losing the upcoming midterm elections and finding himself under investigation by Democrats in Congress who intend to hold him accountable for his multitude of crimes. for a change.

On Friday Trump provided yet another example of his obsessive fixation on himself and what matters most to him, rather than what matters to the American people who he is supposed to be serving. Trump took precious time away from his critical presidential duties of cleaning up fountains and monuments, and building vanity tributes to himself, in order to further advance his Voter Suppression Act. The comment that he posted on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, raged that…

“I will not sign the Housing Bill, which has been fully approved by Congress and sent to the White House, in PROTEST over the fact that the United States Senate is not capable of passing THE SAVE AMERICA ACT […] If the Dumocrats, or any RINO (or worse!) working with them, do not allow a positive Vote on SAVE AMERICA, TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, and pass this.”

OH NOES! Trump is withholding his signature “in PROTEST!” And if he doesn’t get his way, well, you better watch out! He knows that he and his party are facing electoral doom in the upcoming midterm elections so, in desperation, he is making impotent threats to prioritize a blatantly partisan bill intended to rig the election in favor of his MAGA Republicans, over enacting bipartisan legislation that would actually help Americans to afford housing.

What’s more, the Housing Bill passed both Houses of Congress with veto-proof margins. Trump’s Voter Suppression bill can’t even get enough votes in the Senate to pass from Republicans. So Trump’s threat to “TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER” is pitifully hollow. And if Trump actually fails to sign the Housing Bill by midnight, and doesn’t veto it, it will become law without his signature anyway.

For the record, the Housing Bill was originally a legislative achievement that Republicans held up with pride. Even Trump’s Propaganda Secretary, Karoline Leavitt, tweeted that Trump would sign the bill and called it “one of the most significant pieces of housing affordability legislation in American history,” and also said that the “historic bill signing is another promise made, promise kept.”

Not quite! That was all before Trump flipped on it. A few days after Leavitt’s tweet, Trump whined that “It’s a big yawn…To me, compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn.” Which is emblematic of Trump’s attitude toward governing. If it doesn’t matter to him, it doesn’t matter. And just about everything that matters to the American people is “big yawn.” Is anyone surprised that Trump’s approval rating is in the toilet?

Stephen Colbert Gets 10 Emmy Nominations Following its Cancelation By CBS for ‘Financial’ Reasons

Last year the newly installed Trump-fluffing management of CBS and Paramount canceled the number one program in late night television, “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.” They said that it was purely a financial decision, even though the programs on ABC and NBC, number two and three respectively, weren’t having any such financial problems.

In reality, it was a profoundly cowardly act of submission to corporate bosses who were seeking favor from Donald Trump and his administration in order to get his approval for a multibillion dollar merger. And if that weren’t enough, it was also a blatantly political act of alliance with Trump’s MAGA cult movement by Paramount’s owners, who are also Trump’s friends, to rid the airwaves of his critics.

One year later, the Emmy nominations have been announced for the past television season. And Colbert scored the most nominations of any of the late night talk shows. As reported by Latenighter…

“The CBS late-night show earned nine Emmy nominations for its final season Wednesday, the most the show proper has received in a single year since Stephen Colbert took over the franchise in 2015. Add in a nomination for Colbert Before Air, the show’s YouTube series, and the Colbert camp’s final-season tally rises to ten.”

The cancelation of Colbert may be one of the worst programming decision of this century. Paramount/CBS not only fired Colbert, but axed the “Late Show” entirely, a successful and iconic program that was launched by David Letterman 33 years ago. And what did they get for it? The time period that Colbert was winning every night dropped to last place with a syndicated hour schlock comedy, “Comics Unleashed.”

The news since Colbert’s departure has only gotten worse for Paramount/CBS. What follows are some high and low points.

Trump, on the other hand, will only be remembered for his cruelty, ignorance, greed, power-mongering, and malignant narcissism. So congratulations, Stephen. Fox News Keeps Describing Trump’s Sexual Deviancy, When They Think They’re Describing Democrats

That’s mostly due to the failures of the party’s leader, Donald Trump, who has wrecked the economy, led the nation into an illegal war with Iran, wasted taxpayer funds on vanity projects, and humiliated the country on the international stage.

Consequently, Trump is becoming more desperate with each passing day. He knows that there is a strong likelihood that Democrats will regain the majority in the House of Representatives, and perhaps the Senate as well. That would make the remaining two years of his occupation of the White House a nightmare for him, with numerous investigations, and little chance of enacting his MAGA agenda. His approval rating is plummeting to record lows, and he’s resorting to the most bizarre strategies for the upcoming midterm elections.

Naturally, Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is stepping up to do whatever they can to rescue him. On Tuesday night Trump’s former press secretary, Kellyanne Conway (of “alternative facts” fame) was guest hosting the Sean Hannity program. And during a segment wherein she was interviewing Republican Rep. Brandon Gill, the subject of disgraced Maine Senate candidate, Graham Platner came up. Which led to the following exchange…

Conway: I am completely disgusted with the Democratic Party and their candidate, their nominee. But I am worried for the country if they’re gonna continue to stand by their men until they can’t any longer, we may end up with bad candidates, bad office holders, until it’s too late.
Gill: They didn’t have a problem with multiple credible allegations of abuse from multiple women. […] We need decent people running for office, not those who are so transparently scum bags.

OH NO! What will the Democrats do when they learn that Conway is “disgusted” with them? How will they deal with the concerns of Conway and Gill about “scum bags” with “multiple credible allegations of abuse from multiple women”? But most of all, how will Conway and Gill and the rest of the MAGA GOP continue to fool themselves that the “scum bag” they are describing isn’t their own Dear Leader, Donald Trump?

Is it really possible that they don’t realize that they are perfectly describing Trump, who is a well documented, serial sexual abuser, admitted pussy-grabber, and adjudicated rapist? And of course they and the Republican Party continue to “stand by their man” even after it is too late. And so does Fox News. The Democrats, meanwhile, have renounced Platner. Republicans still worship Trump.

This was not the only time that Conway expressed these perverse thoughts about political perversion. In another segment she interviewed GOP Sen. John Kennedy (GA-MAGA), and made similar observations…

Kennedy: This guy is a just a predator. And you don’t want him anywhere near power.
Conway: These allegations of abuse and assault…it just goes on and on and never seems enough for your colleagues across the aisle in the Democratic Party to chuck this guy.

Except that the Democrats did chuck Platner. But Republicans nominated Trump again and reelected him. And they still back him 1,000% (that’s Trump math). It’s a sad fact that there are despicable people in this world. But how they are dealt with tells us about the morality of the rest of us.

Republicans are telling us that rapists and pedophiles and convicted felons are acceptable as leaders. In November the American people can tell Republicans what they think about that. And that’s exactly what Trump and his MAGA cult are afraid of.

Trump Launches Fake ‘Freedom Fuel’ Gas Station Chain to Pretend that He Lowered Gas Prices

During the 2024 presidential campaign, Donald Trump made a flurry of promises that he said he would fulfill on “Day One” if he were reelected. They included ending Russia’s war against Ukraine, revealing a healthcare plan to replace Obamacare, and balancing the budget.

Obviously, none of those promises, and several others, were kept. He never intended to keep them. They were just hollow pledges of things that he knew he couldn’t accomplish, but was compelled to flagrantly lie because he was so desperate for the votes that he needed to regain power and to stay out of prison.

Another vacant promise that Trump made was that he would reduce the prices on necessities like groceries, housing, healthcare and gas. Instead, prices for those things went up after Trump’s reoccupation of the White House. And especially with regard to gas, the American people were burdened with higher costs directly related to Trump’s reckless and illegal war against Iran.

So what’s a pathological liar to do when he finds himself sinking to record lows in public approval due to problems that he created and for which he has no solution? Well, in Trump’s case, he relies on his imagined prowess for lying. On July 1, Trump posted a comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, that said…

“Just as I promised, Oil Prices are plummeting FAST, and Gas Prices at the pump are dropping too…I am pleased to announce that a VERY smart Retailer, located throughout the Northeast, is stepping up, and wishing the People of Philadelphia a ‘Happy Birthday!’ On July 3rd, the Freedom Fuel Network will be lowering gas prices at 25 ‘FREEDOM FUEL’ Stations across the Greater Philadelphia Area. This Retailer is taking the lead, and others should follow. They are doing this because they love the U.S.A.”

On the morning of July 7, Trump followed up his announcement with another that said that “FREEDOM FUEL HAS ARRIVED…lowering the price at the pump to $3.47 for our 47th President.”

There’s just one little problem. Trump’s “Freedumb Fuel” is not a real gas station chain: It is a promotional branding campaign that has fitted a measly half dozen existing stations with temporary signs plastered over those of the real station. Industry analysts noted these discounts are likely subsidized by an outside entity, as standard retailers would otherwise lose money on each gallon sold.

So the whole thing is just another Trump scam. It won’t last but a few days. It’s promotional price of $3.47 per gallon was chosen by Trump to honor himself as the 47th president. Even so, it’s still significantly more than the $3.12 per gallon that Trump inherited from President Biden, and which Trump promised to get down to $2.00.

Just like every other Trump fraud, this one is going to cause more problems for the American people. Gas prices are likely to go higher since the the Iran war is continuing, despite Trump insisting on an almost daily basis that it is already over.

Trump’s solution of throwing a sheet over all of the problems that he can’t solve isn’t going to work. It’s just going to make things worse. And while he may believe that people don’t see through his lies, he will find out in November that he’s wrong.
