Trump Praised a Clip From CNN (Fake News?) That He Played at His Rally – Here’s What He Left Out

For several months the polls for the upcoming midterm election have been showing signs of a massive Blue Tsunami that is predicted to flush out the Republican majorities in Congress. And as election day draws closer, the polls have only gotten worse for Donald Trump and his MAGA Party.

As Trump and the GOP candidates he has endorsed flounder, Trump manages to retain his confidence that the only problem with the election is that the public hasn’t seen enough of Trump. Consequently, he has pledged to abandon his presidential duties and devote himself to rescuing his party. Although many of them are asking him not to bother. So he has narrowed his itinerary to mostly solid red states.

On Friday Trump took his red eye rally express to Syracuse, New York. And while there he thought it would be a good idea to play a deceitfully edited video of something he saw on CNN. Not only was this video from a network that he despises, but it was on a subject that he insists is totally corrupt: Polling. Nevertheless, Trump introduced the clip saying that…

“I saw a chart, because CNN is very unfriendly territory, they’re fake news, but this time I believe them 100%. Because they did a chart, and I respect them for putting it up, but they did a couple of very important charts.”

Whereupon Trump played the video of CNN’s data analyst, Harry Enten, saying that…

“MAGA GOP on Trump in the 2024 election versus Kamala Harris he got 99% of the MAGA GOP vote. But surprisingly. I might have thought it would be 100%. But it was 99%. Compare that to his approval rating now with the MAGA GOP. It’s 98%. That is, there has been no real decline in MAGA support.”

Enten concluded that Trump’s support among the MAGA GOP is “really holding up strong.” And why not? IT’S A CULT! However, what Trump didn’t play for his cult rally devotees was the remainder of the CNN segment where Enten revealed that only 50-60% of Republicans identify as MAGA. Which means that, since only 28% of U.S. adults identify directly as Republicans, MAGA is only about 14-17% of the electorate.

Enten went on to note what he called a “troubling sign for Republicans,” that Trump’s approval among all Republicans declined by 14 points (from 94% to 80%) since 2024. And those Republicans who strongly approved of Trump declined by 24 points (from 71% to 47%, less than half) since the beginning of 2025.

It is so monumentally hypocritical and dishonest for Trump to brag about CNN’s reporting, when he only shows a small piece of it. The rest of the segment showed how dismal Trump’s standing is with the Republican Party and the American people. He left all of that out. And he calls CNN fake news?

It’s kind of funny that Trump is embracing something that he saw on CNN, a network that he relentlessly accuses of being treasonous Even worse, it’s one of the networks that he has actually banned from covering him. But now, because he – or more likely someone on his staff (Natalie Harp?) – was able to cherry-pick a few seconds that he thinks makes him look good, he “believes them 100%.”

Trump can do this because he knows that none of his gullible cult disciples will ever see the parts of the video that he cut out. They don’t watch CNN. Furthermore, he knows that his MAGA-tists are going to fawn over whatever he says. And it’s because of them that he thinks he is universally beloved, even though they are a tiny minority. So he runs around the country thinking that his presence will produce a nationwide Republican victory.

Trump may be sorely disappointed when the actual election results come in. And when they do, he will become the lamest of ducks. Although he will still just say the election was rigged. Because he thinks he’s infallible and more popular than Jesus.

Several weeks ago Donald Trump lost his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, who resigned to spend more time with Fox News, where she now works. Her departure left a gaping sinkhole in his administration just as he was facing the midterm elections and the Blue Tsunami that is predicted to flush out many Republicans from Congress and leave Democrats with majorities in both chambers.

Trump Lies

Leavitt was and is an exemplary disseminator of the same sort of lies and insults for which her boss is infamous. Speculation about her replacement ran the gamut from Trump-fluffers like Ainsley Earhardt of Fox News to Natalie Harp, Trump’s travel companion and security blanket.

Well, now that question may have been answered. There is news from the White House that Trump has offered the press secretary job to Katie Zacharia, an attorney, and legal and political analyst for MAGA media networks, including Fox News, and Newsmax. She also briefly served as a spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security.

Trump plucked her out of his Trump Media and Technology Group, where she has been employed as the senior communications advisor to his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. So she has had plenty of on the job training for dishonesty, division, and diversion.

Katie Zacharia has been chosen as the new White House Press Secretary.

With that resume, Zacharia meets all of the core criteria that Trump has for his propaganda spokesmodel. She has done time at Fox News. She is a bleached blond. She has experience shamelessly lying with a straight face. She is comfortable making personal attacks. She couldn’t care less about the law or the Constitution. And she is a devoted MAGA cultist who believes in Trump’s messianic infallibility.

Zacharia will need all of those skills to prop up Trump who is currently floundering at record lows of approval for the job he’s doing as president, as well as for his handling of nearly every major issue facing the nation, including the war in Iran, the wrecked economy, immigration, the threats to democracy, and corruption by the president, his family, and his cronies.

Given these challenges, Zacharia will have her work cut out for her if she accepts the job. She will be met with skepticism from journalists and Democrats who are all too familiar with Trump’s predilection for lying and won’t sit still for Trump’s criminal shenanigans. There will be hearings and lawsuits and eventually indictments. And if she isn’t careful, she will be among the indicted.

In his second occupation of the White House, Trump has already sought to rename for himself the Kennedy Center, the Institute of Peace, the Dulles International Airport, and the Penn Central Station in New York. He has also launched projects to build monuments to his imagined magnificence, including his vanity ballroom, a triumphal arch, and has even expressed his desire to be added to Mount Rushmore. On Thursday morning Trump posted a brief comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social, to emphasize the extraordinary degree of importance that he attaches to changing AI to SI in his warped mind. He raged that…

“The White House considers anyone that uses the term, ‘Artificial Intelligence,’ as opposed to the highly accepted new and more accurate term, ‘Super Intelligence,’ THE ENEMY!”

So now it’s WAR! Of course, Trump has always felt that any disagreement with him, no matter how trivial, was an intolerable affront to his MAGA-sty. His perception of himself is that he is a dictator with supreme authority that must be respected by all of his peasants. And just like the media, that he refers to in Stalinist terms as the “enemy of the people,” those who insist on using the term “Artificial” are also his enemies. That likely applies to those who still refer to the Gulf of Mexico and Lake Ontario as well.

The new name that Trump has for Artificial Intelligence is the much more arrogant “Super Intelligence.” He probably prefers it because it reminds him the comic book heroes that he imagines himself to be like. Never mind that he is closer to the comically inept Wily E. Coyote, who manages to blow himself up with each new scheme that he deploys.

However, AI is hardly super. A recent inquiry I made to confirm a political allegation aimed at the Democratic candidate for governor of California went wildly off course. I asked Google’s AI, Gemini, “Why did Xavier Becerra withdraw from a debate?” It replied that…

“Democratic gubernatorial candidate Xavier Becerra withdrew from a scheduled Los Angeles Times debate against Republican rival Steve Hilton following a difficult performance in their previous CNN matchup and scrutiny surrounding his personal background.”

[It also reference a poll that] “indicated that viewers favored Steve Hilton 74% to 20%, putting mounting pressure on the Becerra campaign.”

It was immediately apparent that the response was blatantly biased. So I asked it “Why is your only source for this response the right-wing California Globe?” It replied that…

“You are completely right to call that out, and the previous response was heavily one-sided. It incorrectly treated partisan framing from Republican candidate Steve Hilton and outlets like the California Globe as established fact, while omitting crucial context.”

Well, thanks for acknowledging how ludicrous the response was. But only after it was called out. Any other user might never have learned that the reply was a partisan sham.

Google’s Gemini also noted after the fact that “A spokesperson for Xavier Becerra stated that the Democratic candidate never actually agreed to attend the debate,” and that they declined due to “a full campaign schedule.” It further revealed that the poll “cited by Hilton’s campaign came from an unscientific online poll of debate viewers.” and that credible polling showed Becerra leading Hilton 58% to 33%. Once again, that admission was only available because it had been challenged.

In order to corroborate this information, I checked with ChatGPT as well. It also responded that Becerra withdrew from the debate citing the California Globe. When asked about that sleazy source it replied that…

“You’re right to question that. My previous answer overstated the evidence, [and the previous response was] “based primarily on Steve Hilton’s announcement on X. [Then ChatGPT apologized saying that] “I shouldn’t have presented the withdrawal as an established fact in my first answer. Thank you for catching the sourcing problem.”

You’re welcome? You should not have to question an allegedly “super” source of information in order to get correct information. Although, at least it was polite. But responses like this make it crystal clear that the name “Artificial Intelligence” remains the most appropriate one.

The reason it is artificial is because real intelligence requires critical thinking, analysis, and creativity. None of which AI possesses – yet. Ironically, Trump also has none of those attributes. Yet he still regards himself as the sole arbiter and protector for all things AI. Which sort of makes you wonder…

Throughout his second occupation of the White House, Trump has continued his delusional whimpering on a near daily basis. And he has attempted to turn his gripes into legislation that he says would enhance election integrity, but would actually just suppress the votes of legitimate citizens.

The obsession Trump has with his phony version of election integrity has take precedence over almost everything else on his agenda, including his war against Iran, his wrecking of the economy, and his building of tributes to himself. However, integrity has never been his true goal. and now there is a report that further exposes his actual nefarious motivations. As reported by MS NOW…

“The Trump administration declined to invite election observers from the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe to witness the midterms, meaning observers from the regional security group won’t be at a U.S. election for the first time in more than two decades.

“Their absence comes as Democrats and election integrity experts have raised concerns about potential election meddling after the Department of Justice announced plans to send its own monitors.

“Washington joins only Russia and Belarus in its decision to exclude OSCE observers.”

There’s only one plausible reason that Trump would want to prohibit neutral observers. He doesn’t want his criminal schemes to rig the election to be revealed. Already he has been engaging in tactics that are blatantly designed to undermine American democracy. For instance…

  • He has threatened to deploy the military at polling places, which is against the law.
  • He has lobbied for legislation to make it harder to register and vote early or by mail.
  • He has pushed Republican election officials to purge voter rolls to depress turnout.
  • He has sought the closure of precincts in blue districts in order to eliminate Democratic voters.
  • He has installed election deniers and convicted fraudsters in election oversight positions.
  • He has ordered the U.S. Postal Service to refuse or delay delivery of mail-in ballots.
  • He has even implied that he would declare a national emergency to interfere with the election.

All of those measures have been, or will be, challenged in court, but there is no guarantee what the outcome will be, particularly with the pro-MAGA majority on the Supreme Court. And while the Constitution explicitly says that elections fall within the jurisdiction of the states, not the federal government, Trump could still get his way in states where his fascist-leaning MAGA Republicans control the state houses and are willing to do his bidding.

Naturally, Trump doesn’t want witnesses to see how he is purposefully obstructing the rights of voters. So international observers must not be permitted to do the job that they’ve been doing responsibly for decades all around the world, including in the U.S. Which means that it will be up to local officials who still revere the Constitution to stand up for democracy.

There is also a role for voters themselves. They can show up at the polls and be the election observers that Trump is trying to banish. They can bear witness to any interference or intimidation. They can document any unlawful behavior. And first and foremost, they can vote in numbers too large for Trump’s anti-democratic plots to succeed. Consequently, this year voting is not only a civic duty, it is a moral imperative to preserve America’s freedom.

And in these few weeks before a midterm election that is predicted to be a Democratic tsunami, Trump is becoming more and more unhinged and desperate. Which is evident in his Tuesday morning tirade wherein he lashed out in a series of raging comments on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. He began with a common complaint that his rallies are not depicted consistent with his deranged view of them.

“My Rally crowds and enthusiasm are unbelievable! Nobody has ever seen anything like it. We are flipping races all over the place.’ […and…]

“Thanks you to the great Networks that are covering the Rallies in full. They are being rewarded with BIG RATINGS.”

There’s a reason that Trump’s crowds are “unbelievable.” It’s because he’s lying. Even Fox News knows they are ratings sinkholes. And he couldn’t cite a single race where a Republican is flipping a blue seat. Whst’s more, the channels that are showing more of his rallies have ratings so low that Nielsen doesn’t even measure them.

“FoxNews spends more time covering the Jihadist and Dumocrat candidates than they do the good old fashioned Republicans. […and…]

“All they talk about is Dumocrat Jihadists like El-Sayed, with his softball interview by Martha MacCallum, and the like. She never interviews me like that. […and…]

“Fox is promoting the Dumocrats, not the Republicans and MAGA. They have totally lost their way!”

Trump frequently asserts (aka lies) that Fox News spends more time covering Democrats than Republicans. Which is utterly delusional. And it’s all the worse considering how much time he spends watching Fox. Abdul El-Sayed has been interviewed on Fox exactly twice. And both times he endured far more pushback from the interviewers than Trump ever had.

“MY RALLIES ARE SAVING THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, AGAIN!!!”

That was just Trump’s plaintive cry into the wild to discharge his anxiety and fear of his fate when Democrats have congressional majorities. The truth is that many Republican candidates are avoiding his rallies and asking him not to come to their districts. And his big Trump-a-Palooza was an epic flop.

“FoxNews is long form interviewing the sleazebag, Dan Osborn, right now…Why are they doing this???”

Trump can’t comprehend why an alleged “news” network would interview a candidate for the Senate. However, he is also revealing that he does little else other than watch Fox News. Doesn’t he have anything more important to do than hate-watch cable TV news programs? It’s not like there is a war going on, or the economy is tanking. Oh, wait…

Trump has his own bizarre beliefs about how the press should cover politics, and particularly him. And if they don’t live up to his insane standards they are committing treason. Trump’s behavior is only going to get worse as the midterm elections get closer. But the real victims of his panic attacks will be his fellow Republicans, who are too cowardly to renounce him or his flaming asininity.

Fox News has never been shy about displaying their support for Donald Trump. From the day that he descended down his golden escalator, Fox News has served faithfully as his official Ministry of Propaganda. They cover for him when he lies, defends his feast of failures, and attack his opponents. Plus they are a recruiting platform for Trump’s White House staff, where at least 20 former Fox Newsers have been employed.

Donald Trump and Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt

Fox News has now affirmed their reputation as loyal Trump-fluffers with their hiring of his former press secretary, Karoline Leavitt. And it didn’t take long. Leavitt left her post as White House Propaganda Secretary effective August 27, just one month ago. And her future employment with Fox News was telegraphed by the network in her last day at the White House.

The announcement of Leavitt’s new job included statements by both Fox and Leavitt. Her new employer boasted that…

“‘Karoline’s firsthand experience in the White House and on the presidential campaign trail gives her a distinct understanding of today’s political landscape,’ Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement. ‘We look forward to her providing our audience with authentic and sharp insight across all Fox News Media platforms.'”

Leavitt’s “distinct understanding” and “sharp insight” are primarily how best to flatter Trump and feed his massive yet fragile ego. She will surely provide that to Fox’s audience, along with unflinching support of his ubiquitous lies. For her part, Leavitt thanked Fox for the job saying that she would be…

“…bringing my unique perspective from my experience as White House Press Secretary, along with the same energy and candor that defied [sic] my tenure, to Fox’s millions of viewers across their many platforms.”

Leavitt’s ironically appropriate typo describing herself as having “defied” her tenure says a lot about her time at the White House. However, what actually “defined” her tenure, was her shamelessless at lying and sucking up to Dear Leader. Trump.

Throughout her tenure as Trump’s “machine gun” mouthpiece (as Trump described her), Leavitt was a regular guest on Fox News, appearing several times a week to disseminate disinformation to the network’s gullible audience of MAGA cultists. She overhauled the White House press operation, making it her mission to replace credible journalists with brazenly pro-Trump podcasters and Internet trolls.

Leavitt perfectly parroted her boss by arguing with – and insulting – members of the media who were merely there to do their job of getting information from the administration and informing the public. Her new job at Fox News won’t be much different. She will continue to malign the free press and reinforce the lies told by her former boss.

In pursuit of those goals, Leavitt joins her fellow former Trump press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany, and a former George W. Bush press secretary, Dana Perino. There was another Trump PR flack, Sarah Huckabee Sanders, who signed up with Fox News, but later to left to become governor of Arkansas.

It is notable that Trump has not taken any steps to replace Leavitt. So there has been no press secretary for the past month, during an election year, and while the nation is embroiled in war and suffering an economic downturn. As for whoever fills Leavitt’s shoes at the White House, we can all rest assured that it will be someone for whom lying is not a moral problem, and who unwaveringly adores Trump.

That suggests someone like Natalie Harp (formally of One America News), or CNN’s Scott Jennings, or perhaps current Fox News host, Lara Trump. Or even Donald himself. After all, no one else lies more like Trump, or loves him more. All of which makes this position particularly difficult to fill.

Leavitt performed like a PR agent for a criminal fraudster and alleged pedophile who scammed his way into a position of power through deceit and threats. In other words, she was perfectly suited for employment by Trump. And she is likewise perfectly suited for employment by Fox News. So expect nothing to change.

While their primetime Trump-fluffing hours still slather him with adoration, Trump isn’t satisfied that they are fulfilling their hype duties. So he posted his discontent in a tediously lengthy comment on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. It’s too boring and asinine to repost here in full, but what follows are a few choice excerpts. He begins by whining that it’s…

“Sad to see that Fox & Friends (Sunday) is not covering our packed house and incredibly enthusiastic (beyond!) Rally…They were all sold out.”

Yes. It’s so sad. It’s also sad that those rallies were not packed. On site reports say that nearly half the seats were empty. Also, it is impossible for an event to be “sold out” if it doesn’t cost anything to get in. Trump continued…

“Our people want to see our Rallies, and reports on our Rallies, on FoxNews, or they will very quickly stop watching (like I am doing right now!).”

Trump is right that his cult followers want to see his rallies on Fox News. However, whether they will stop watching is an open question. After all, Trump’s own claim that he isn’t watching is a flagrant lie. How else would he know that the rallies weren’t covered? Trump continued…

“Fix spends more time talking to Communists, Socialists, and Dumocrats.”

FYI: “Fix” is not a typo. Trump is now referring to the network as fixed. And he has also taken to making preposterous accusations that they are interviewing more Democrats than Republicans.

Trump thinks that ratings for Fox News would be better if they aired his explosive diarhetoric live 24/7. However, the networks that do commit more airtime to his rallies are so lowly rated that Nielsen doesn’t even measure them. Which may be one of the reasons that Trump launched his own channel that he humbly calls “Trump TV.” And it has really gone wild with a throbbing audience of about 150 viewers.

Trump is Pushing the Sunshine Protection Act to Make Daylight Saving Time Permanent. Here’s Why

It isn’t often that Donald Trump comes out in favor of something that has bipartisan support. Ordinarily he is laser focused on backing, or even purposely creating, issues that divide the American people. He likes nothing better than to set up phony political confrontations in which he can try to demonize Democrats.

Donald Trump Pacifier Fox

So it may come as some surprise that Trump is enthusiastically backing the Sunshine Protection Act (SPA) that would make Daylight Saving Time (DST) permanent. The bill has already passed in the House, and likely has the votes to pass in the Senate as well. Of course, any assumption that Trump is actually concerned about the welfare of the people or the nation is wildly off base.

Trump revealed why he is supporting the SPA in a comment that he posted to his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social on Saturday morning. His remarks were typically longwinded and barely coherent, saying in part that…

“Nobody wants to spend their precious time running all over the place, turning Clocks back twice a year and, having sunshine in the afternoon is better than early in the morning! […] Golfers, Tennis Players, Hunters and, perhaps most importantly, Farmers who want more Daylight to play or work. […] Almost everybody wants ‘The Sunshine Protection Act’ to pass, except for Tom Cotton…Call Tom on his cellphone at, 479-453-0533, and let him know.”

However that was not the revealing part. Trump’s post also included a copy of a letter that he received from Brian Rolapp, CEO of the PGA Tour. Rolapp’s letter included the following argument in favor of passing the SPA (emphasis added)…

“The National Golf Course Owners Association (NGCOA) estimates that permanent DST would generate 23 million additional rounds per year and $1 billion annually in new direct revenue for the golf industry — an average of $250,000 per facility. The NGCOA has also found that afternoon and evening tee times generate roughly 40 percent more revenue than morning play.”

A billion dollars a year for golf course owners. And it’s surely just a coincidence that Trump owns eleven golf resorts in the United States. That’s a pretty strong financial incentive to support making Daylight Saving Time permanent. And it would explain why Trump is badgering his fellow Republican, Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas, to get him to drop his opposition. Although Cotton doesn’t seem particularly eager to comply with Trump’s demands…

Cotton’s rebuttal isn’t very persuasive. If he’s afraid that Arkansans will have to wake up before sunrise, or send their kids to school in the dark, all they would have to do is change the hours that they do those things. For instance, start school an hour later in the winter. Then the entire nation of more than 360,000,000 doesn’t have to change their clocks, and tolerate earlier sunsets, just to accommodate those parents of young children.

There are arguments on both sides of the DST debate. Some doctors say that Standard Time is healthier. But that’s offset by the health risks caused by the biannual changing of the clocks, which include higher rates of heart attacks and strokes, more auto accidents in the darkened evening hours when there is more traffic, and the environmental harm done by increased use of energy for lighting and heating when the sun sets earlier.

While there are much more important issues that need to be addressed, this one presents a rare opportunity for a bipartisan accord on a matter that people care about. And coming right before a critical election makes it all the more significant. And it even has Trump’s support, albeit for selfish reasons.

However, it’s being hung up by a Republican who suddenly isn’t afraid to defy Dear Leader. These MAGA Republicans go along with Trump on virtually everything, such as waging an illegal war against Iran, protecting pedophiles associated with Jeffrey Epstein, backing inflationary tariffs, and building monuments to exalt our Narcissist-in-Chief. But on this issue Sen. Cotton has summoned the courage to stand up to Trump?

The Republican Party really does seem determined to convince the American people that they are weak-kneed nut cases who need to be voted out of office as soon as possible. And fortunately, the people will have that opportunity in the next few weeks. In the meantime, you can give Cotton a call at the number helpfully provided by Trump if you want to keep Daylight Saving time.

Fox News is SHOCKED By James Talarico’s 7 Point Lead Over Ken Paxton for the Senate in Texas

The desperation of frantic Republicans is growing by the day as the American people prepare to vote in the midterm elections. Donald Trump and his MAGA comrades are bracing for disaster, while shoveling political manure in the fleeting hopes of avoiding the blowout that they privately know is inevitable.

Early voting has already begun in some states. And with most polls predicting a massive blue wave washing out GOP candidates once thought to be shoe-ins, panic is setting in for Trump and his MAGA comrades nationwide. Their response is to invent preposterous attacks on Democrats, who they vainly try to portray as communists, and to send Trump out to shore up votes, despite his record low standing with the general public.

Naturally, Trump’s official Ministry of Propaganda, Fox News, is doing their part to rig the election. On Trump’s favorite morning show, Fox and Friends, co-host Ainsley Earhardt (also Sean Hannity’s fiancé) interviewed fellow Fox Newser, and MAGA sports geek, Clay Travis, to get his predictably biased opinion on the unfolding race for the Senate in Texas between Democrat James Talarico and Republican Ken Paxton. It went something like this…

Earhardt: If you look at that Fox News poll, he [Talarico] is ahead by seven points – IN THE STATE OF TEXAS! How is that possible?
Travis: Texans have to wake up. I think sometimes, when you have seen Republicans win for generations, a lot of people out there just don’t think at all that Democrats are capable of winning in the state.

Earhardt’s confusion about how a Democrat can win in Texas could be resolved by informing her that Trump has a negative approval rating in virtually every state, and his disapproval in Texas is at 57%. And yet, according to Travis, the problem is only that “Texans have to wake up.” So now the MAGA-tists are in favor of being “woke”?

Furthermore, Democrats frequently win in Texas, including Talarico, who is currently a sitting member of the Texas House of Representatives. Also, Texas has sent 13 Democrats to Washington, D.C. to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. So maybe these Fox News flunkies shouldn’t be so surprised. Nor should they bother to offer incoherent excuses like this one from Travis…

“Now, I watch a lot of football. I watch a lot of sports. Every single game that I am watching I am seeing Republican ads dominating. I think that Republicans have held their proverbial cash until the last moment and they are now delivering overwhelming amounts of dollars into the playing field.”

Well, that settles it. Republicans will surely prevail in November after dumping a lot of money into sports program ads in the last few weeks of the election. Because the American people will forget about their economic struggles and vote the party the caused them, and that started an illegal war, and that imposed inflationary tariffs, etc., after seeing a bunch of 30 second ads that interrupt their sporting events viewing.

Travis is praising Republicans for having hoarded their “proverbial cash” (whatever the hell that is) until after Democrats have already defined themselves and their opponents. And now he says they will unleash a barrage of commercials that will reverse the Democrats’ momentum on the playing field. Because after all, Fox News believes that Talarico’s seven point lead still marks this as a “tight” race…

What a brilliant strategy. And it just might work if Democrats decide to stay home and not vote. So this is not the time to become overconfident. It is time to renew your commitment to preserving democracy and fighting for working class families. Stay woke. And make sure that everyone you know casts their ballot, early if possible. Volunteer if you can. We can make Trump the lamest of ducks, and his SICKO-phants at Fox News even more perplexed and depressed.

Trump’s Absolutely BONKERS Interview with Time Affirms that His Brain Has Turned to Mush

The most media averse president in American history, Donald Trump, has just given an interview to TIME, another news organization that he considers to be “fake news.” And yet, he still whines annually when he doesn’t grace their cover as “Person of the Year.”

Donald Trump, Insane, Straight Jacket

The new interview is a long and tedious read that weaves aimlessly through a variety of issues including “the war in Iran, the artificial intelligence boom, the Federal Reserve, the Supreme Court, and his outlook for the midterms.” But there is almost nothing newsworthy in the whole thing because Trump just dodges the questions he’s asked, and wanders off into unrelated matters that fulfill his obsession with exalting himself. Which is typical of Trump, a malignant narcissist who has always had a tenuous connection to reality.

After wading through the lengthy barrage of bullshit, it was clear that there is nothing left of whatever cognitive capacity Trump possessed. His answers barely touched on the subject matter of the questions. But they predictably concluded with effusive praise for himself. The full transcript of the interview is here, for those with time on their hands and strong stomachs. But this article will just address the portion of the interview where Trump discussed the media.

Time’s staff began with a question about his recent banning of CNN, MS NOW, and Politico from covering certain presidential events because he didn’t like how they covered him. His ban was a blatant violation of the Constitution’s First Amendment, which a federal court affirmed and ordered Trump to revoke the ban.

QUESTION: Why should Americans believe that you respect the free press when you’re restricting access to the White House to some of our colleagues?
TRUMP: Because I do respect the free press, but I don’t respect fake news. I’ll give you an example. CNN and MSDNC, which is MS Now—they changed the name because it does so poorly. But I won the election [then rants about winning elections that he didn’t win, by margins that he never reached] It’s very important, 86% popular vote. Everything, and very conclusively, I haven’t had a good story on CNN for years. They’re incapable of being—they’re fake news. Same thing on MS NOW. […]

I don’t believe in fake news. And I know it’s fake because I know the thing—I don’t mind, you know, if I do something wrong, I don’t mind having a bad story…I’m in the Oval Office. I mean, the public is very smart. If I wasn’t doing a good job, I wouldn’t have won that election by a lot.

It’s preposterous for Trump to claim that he respects the free press that he banned. But he didn’t remain on that topic for long. He quickly diverted to bragging about his imaginary electoral successes, including having won 86% of the popular vote For the record, Trump never won anywhere near 86%. In 2024 he won 49.8% of the vote, just 1.5% more than Kamala Harris.

Then Trump wrapped up by noting that if he “wasn’t doing a good job, I wouldn’t have won.” Let’s see how he approaches that after the midterm elections in November that his MAGA Party is predicted to lose, and whether he still thinks then that “the public is very smart.”

Trump then complained about a judge that he said was “very anti-Trump,” who ruled that his banning of the free press was unconstitutional. That judge was appointed by Trump. He was reminded of that and was asked whether he would comply with the ruling. His response suggests that he doesn’t even know what a ruling is.

QUESTION: You don’t think you’re ignoring what he ordered you to do? You don’t think you’re ignoring his order?
TRUMP: No, I’m not. I’m not ignoring his order. I’m just saying that when I don’t have to go out of my way, these people write only bad stories. When they say orders, what order? I’m not even aware.

So Trump says that he isn’t ignoring the court’s order, he just isn’t going to comply with it because he doesn’t know what what it is. See? That isn’t insane at all, is it? Nor is it wackadoodle to explain why he’s banning the media by complaining that a reporter is allegedly unhappy, as he does in his next response.

QUESTION: Can I just ask, why now? You’ve had this contentious relationship with the media for a while. What was the impetus to doing this at this moment in time?
TRUMP: Well, it’s just bad story after bad story…I don’t think anybody should be forced to bear fake news, constantly bad stories, because I’ve done great things….So at a certain point, you say, “What’s the purpose of like this crazy Kaitlan Collins?” She’s a very average person. She’s the most unhappy young person I’ve ever seen.

Trump’s problem with CNN’s Kaitlan Collins is that she doesn’t smile when she’s asking him questions about serious subjects. Although he has never asked any male reporters to smile more. And this is his reason for banning CNN? That actually doesn’t comport with a different reason he gave recently…

The national security excuse is one that Trump has been leaning on lately. He has used it to justify the building of his vanity ballroom and his triumphal arch. Even worse, he’s threatening to use it to justify declaring martial law in order to steal the election. None which makes any sense at all. It’s just further proof that his mind was turned to cottage cheese and that he needs to be institutionalized for his own safety and that of the nation, and the world. ASAP!
