The 2026 midterm election is expected to reap the rewards of a massive Blue Wave of victories by Democrats over Republicans struggling to crawl out from under the rubble that their Dear Leader, Donald Trump has piled on top of them.

This week Trump welcomed China’s president, Xi Jinping, to the White House for a summit of some sort that had no real agenda or objectives. It’s purpose seemed to be purely for PR in advance of the November election. And affirming that is the fact that nothing was accomplished and no agreements were made, other than announcing that they would meet again in the future.

What’s more, the hollow theatrics of the affair was further borne out by the guest list that included many of Trump’s sycophantic political allies, a swarm of tech billionaires, and one other group of MAGA devotees who represented a key constituency for Trump. As reported by the Daily Beast…

“Some of Fox News’s biggest-name hosts have set aside their red-baiting to hang out at the White House with the world’s most powerful communist dictator.

“China’s Xi Jinping is in America at the invitation of President Donald Trump, who staged a lavish state dinner at taxpayers’ expense on Thursday evening.

“Tech billionaires including SpaceX’s Elon Musk, OpenAI’s Sam Altman, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos and Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg packed the VIP guest list.

“Also invited were Fox News stars Jesse Watters, Laura Ingraham, and Bret Baier, despite the president’s favorite network repeatedly parroting his anti-communist rhetoric ahead of the midterm elections.”

That’s right, nearly the entire roster of Fox’s primetime lineup was at Trump’s party for Xi. These are people who spend most of their time on the air trying to resurrect the “red scare” of the 1950s. They endlessly complain that communism is evil and is about to dominate the planet thanks to Democratic office holders and candidates in the United States. But they are thrilled to sit at the same table and toast the most prominent international communist leader of all.

Rest assured that Watters, and Ingraham, and Baier will be back in their anchor chairs soon insisting that communism is bringing down America. And notice that, while these Fox News hosts are attending the state dinner with Xi, their network is still declining to cover the event until Trump rescinds his ban of CNN, MS NOW, and Politico. So these alleged “journalists” are guests at an event that Trump is prohibiting the free press – including their own employer – from covering. Although he did allow the state media of China to cover it.

It is also notable that no journalists other than those from Fox News attended the dinner as guests. Only Trump’s official Ministry of Propaganda was invited. But there was another media figure there: Trump’s billionaire friend David Ellison, the CEO of the Paramount Global conglomerate that the Trump regime just greenlighted to acquire Warner Bros, the owner of CNN.

Maybe people shouldn’t be surprised by Trump’s embrace of communists like Xi, and Vladimir Putin, and Kim Jong Un, After all, Trump has been adopting many of the principles of the communists that he admires and seeks to emulate. Such as implementing communist-like control over the “means of production” by taking a role in corporate mergers, demanding multimillion dollar payments from corporations seeking government favors, forcing corporations to sell parts of their businesses to the government, suppressing the free press and defunding public media such as PBS, NPR, and Radio Free America, and seeking to dominate every branch of government and independent government agencies.

The hypocrisy of the Fox News hosts dressing up to pay homage to Xi, while ranting feverishly about the perils of communism on their TV programs, would by hysterical if weren’t so dishonest and dangerous. And the fact that they – and Trump – see Xi as a respectable world leader with integrity, but castigate Democratic Americans as traitors, is an ominous harbinger of what is yet to come from Trump and his MAGA-tists.
