Trump Hypes a Phony ‘Census Bureau’ Report that He Says Proves He Won the 2020 Election

Apparently Donald Trump has concluded that the prospects for Republicans winning the midterm election in November is a lost cause. And according to the most recent polls, he’s right. So he’s giving up on that and pivoting to a different election that he also lost, but whose defeat he has been unable to accept.

With Trump’s approval ratings in the toilet, and projections for Congress that show that Democrats are favored to win majorities in the House of Representatives, and possibly the Senate as well, Trump is shifting his attention back to the 2020 presidential election that he lost to President Biden. It’s an obsession that has consumed Trump’s feeble consciousness for six years now. And he isn’t letting it go. In fact, he’s making it worse…

SEE THIS: REALLY? Trump’s Source for ‘Tremendous Evidence’ of Election Fraud is MyPillow Kook Mike Lindell?

In pursuit of his fantasy, Trump recently posted on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, an announcement of new “evidence” that he prevailed in 2020, and that the election was “rigged and stolen” from him. The post said that…

“”The Census Bureau has begun checking the Voter Records from 2020 against their Citizenship Records. On the first 128,000,000 Voters, the Census Bureau proves that over 24,000 Noncitizens voted illegally! The Census Bureau is going to analyze the next 32,000,000 Voters, and this number will explode. I WON THE ELECTION! We must pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

There is nothing but lies in that comment. Beginning with Trump’s claim that it was a Census Bureau study that “proves that over 24,000 Noncitizens voted illegally!” As reported by NPR, the Census Bureau had nothing to do with it. Instead, it was the product of a pro-Trump think tank whose methodology and conclusions are regarded as “questionable” by experts. According to NPR…

NPR: “Work on the analysis was not conducted by career civil servants at the Census Bureau, and the team behind it included individuals affiliated with the America First Policy Institute, a think tank started by officials from Trump’s first administration, according to a Census Bureau employee who NPR has agreed not to name because they fear retaliation at work.”

SURPRISE! Trump is lying about a "Census Bureau" report that he says "proves" widespread illegal voting by non-U.S. citizens. But it was actually produced by a pro-Trump think tank, and experts say it "is questionable in its methodology and conclusions."www.npr.org/2026/08/19/n…

Although the source of Trump’s data is entirely bogus, it was nice of them to concede that, even in their unreliable estimation, there was an insignificant amount of alleged non-citizen voting. 24,000 out of 128,000,000 comes to about 0.0187% of the total. So even if there were that many ineligible voters – and there is no evidence that there were – that’s not anywhere near enough to have any impact on the outcome of the election. It would likely represent only discrepancies by voters whose citizenship status wasn’t updated in the records, or routine computer errors.

The New York Times also published a story that affirmed the findings of NPR. Their story focused on data from Nevada, where officials with the Department of Homeland Security were unable to substantiate the ineligible voter claims.

“The administration claimed to have identified 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote in four states, including an exact number of 15,903 in Nevada. But during a meeting last week with state election administrators, Homeland Security officials said they had identified just 185 potential noncitizens in the state so far, according to emails as well as recordings of the meeting obtained by The New York Times.”

Once again, that’s a tiny fraction [0.0665%] of the registered voter base in Nevada. And it refers to only “potential” non-citizen voters. So the actual total is likely even less.

This is typical of how Trump and his regime endeavors to perpetuate his lies. They exploit and misrepresent reliable data sources, but distort them with manufactured data to deceive their already ill-informed and gullible MAGA cult disciples. And while it may work on their tiny target audience, the vast majority of Americans are smarter than that. Which explains why Trump and the GOP are so desperately failing.
