Trump Brags that He’s Losing to Iran, a Country He Says Has No Money, Navy, or Air Force

As the war that Donald Trump is waging against Iran drags on into its sixth month, there remains no end in sight and no plan for a conclusion that justifies the expense in blood and money. Never mind that Trump had promised that the war wouldn’t last more than a few days, and that he has been declaring victory every other week since it began.

Trump baby with Iran map

This new quagmire in the Middle East was a reckless and illegal endeavor that Trump launched in order to distract the American people from his failures in office, and perhaps to draw attention away from his stubborn, guilt-ridden insistence on obstructing the release of the Jeffrey Epstein files. In other words, it was an egomaniacal scheme to pacify his out-of-control malignant narcissism.

SEE THIS: The Iran War Will End in ‘Days’ According to Trump, Who Has Been Saying that for Months

Those goals of Trump’s haven’t changed. And on Saturday he was asked to comment on the state of affairs of his Iranian misadventures. He responded to a reporter’s question saying that…

“We’re seeing what happens. They have no money. They have no navy. They have no air force. They’re not paying their soldiers. They’re not paying their police. They have 350% inflation. So we’re just gonna sort of see what happens. And we have total control, you know, of the border. We have total control, if you look at the blockade. We have total control ot that entire region having to do with the Strait of Hormuz.”

This is NOT comforting.Trump is admitting that he can't defeat Iran even though they have no money, no navy, and no air force. We're 6 months into what he said would be a 2 week war.

News Corpse (@newscorpse.bsky.social) 2026-08-22T16:35:17.140Z

There’s a lot wrong with that response. To begin with, it’s a pretty vague assessment of an ongoing war wherein all he can say is that we’ll “see what happens.” But more troubling is what appears to be his dismal summary of the situation. Trump brags that he has reduced Iran’s fighting capability to a shell of a military force. He has been saying that for months using hyperbolic language that he “obliterated” Iran’s ability to fight back.

The problem with that is that he’s still losing. No matter how many times he repeats that “We have total control” over the Hormuz Strait, it isn’t true. And his boasting about destrying Iran’s military just makes the fact that he is still losing all the more humiliating for him.

Under the circumstances, shouldn’t Trump have wrapped this up long ago? He is essentially conceding that he can’t even beat a country that has no money, no navy, and no air force. That’s a concession that is consistent with Trump’s record of failure for decades. And it’s one that Democrats should highlight at every opportunity.

Trump Begs His MAGA Cult to ‘Pretend That I’m on the Ballot’ – And Democrats Concur

It’s always obvious when Donald Trump is having a panic attack about matters that are beyond the control of his narcissistic malignancy. He typically lashes out frantically at his perceived political enemies, hurls infantile insults at the free press that he abhors, and beseeches his MAGA cult disciples to worship him harder.

Donald Trump, Mocking Disability

With the rapidly approaching midterm election bearing down on Trump and his MAGA confederates, he recognizes, but will never admit, that the prospects for a Republican victory are dim. Consequently, he is trying on new campaign themes almost every day. They range from rehashing the “red scare” of the 1950s, wherein he accuses all Democrats of being communists, to outright lying about how successfully he has restored the economy that he wrecked with tariffs and war and general ignorance.

SEE THIS: New Trump Campaign Slogan: The Economy is Doing Unbelievably From the Standpoint of Wall Street

On Friday Trump attended a rally in South Carolina in support of GOP Senate candidate Darline Graham, who he has endorsed. As usual, he spent most of his 90 minute harangue exalting himself. But in a surprising departure from his common conceit and ego-fluffing, Trump put his electoral anxiety on display. For instance, he implored his MAGA-tists to demonstrate their adoration by showing up to vote in November. Openly begging, Trump explained that…

“The problem that we have is, they say that Trump does great when he’s on the ballot, but when he’s not on the ballot, his people don’t come and they don’t vote for senators, congressmen and other Republicans. So what I really want you to do is pretend, please, that I’m on the ballot.”

This request was likely fueled by the fact that, in recent Republican primaries, six of Trump’s endorsed candidates lost. Even Graham, the candidate he was there to promote, failed to get enough votes to avoid a runoff. Therefore, he is resorting to pleading for his peons to “pretend” that he’s on the ballot. Which is an admission that the Republicans he is pushing are too lame to get votes on their own.

Of course, it’s Trump’s widespread unpopularity that is likely the main reason for the GOP’s recent defeats. So if Republican candidates choose to tie themselves closer to Trump, it will probably do them more harm than good. Democrats, meanwhile, will eagerly welcome Republicans embracing their lame duck leader, who will lead them to more failures. And that’s not the only reason Democrats are supporting Trump’s recent remarks. He also told the rally crowd that…

“If we lose you’re going to lose your border, you’re going to lose your tax cuts, you’re going to lose everything that we’ve done, we’ve gotten the biggest tax cuts in history…I’m going to be impeached. They’re going to impeach me. They have no idea why.”

Let’s set aside Trump’s claims about what would be lost, because they are all lies. On the other hand, his “warning” that he would be impeached will resonate as an incentive to most Democrats, Independents, and even some disaffected Republicans. And if Trump needs some reminders of why so many Americans want him impeached, he can just rerefer to his illegal war against Iran, his illegal tariffs, his illegal acceptance of gifts (including a $400 million dollar jet), his illegal vandalizing of property in D.C., and his illegal enrichment of himself. And that’s the abridged list.

What’s more, the prospect of Trump’s impeachment will drive higher voter turnout by Americans who want to hasten the end of his reoccupation of the White House. And that’s an outcome that nobody will need to pretend to enjoy.

Trump Hypes a Phony ‘Census Bureau’ Report that He Says Proves He Won the 2020 Election

Apparently Donald Trump has concluded that the prospects for Republicans winning the midterm election in November is a lost cause. And according to the most recent polls, he’s right. So he’s giving up on that and pivoting to a different election that he also lost, but whose defeat he has been unable to accept.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump

With Trump’s approval ratings in the toilet, and projections for Congress that show that Democrats are favored to win majorities in the House of Representatives, and possibly the Senate as well, Trump is shifting his attention back to the 2020 presidential election that he lost to President Biden. It’s an obsession that has consumed Trump’s feeble consciousness for six years now. And he isn’t letting it go. In fact, he’s making it worse…

SEE THIS: REALLY? Trump’s Source for ‘Tremendous Evidence’ of Election Fraud is MyPillow Kook Mike Lindell?

In pursuit of his fantasy, Trump recently posted on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, an announcement of new “evidence” that he prevailed in 2020, and that the election was “rigged and stolen” from him. The post said that…

“”The Census Bureau has begun checking the Voter Records from 2020 against their Citizenship Records. On the first 128,000,000 Voters, the Census Bureau proves that over 24,000 Noncitizens voted illegally! The Census Bureau is going to analyze the next 32,000,000 Voters, and this number will explode. I WON THE ELECTION! We must pass THE SAVE AMERICA ACT. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

There is nothing but lies in that comment. Beginning with Trump’s claim that it was a Census Bureau study that “proves that over 24,000 Noncitizens voted illegally!” As reported by NPR, the Census Bureau had nothing to do with it. Instead, it was the product of a pro-Trump think tank whose methodology and conclusions are regarded as “questionable” by experts. According to NPR…

NPR: “Work on the analysis was not conducted by career civil servants at the Census Bureau, and the team behind it included individuals affiliated with the America First Policy Institute, a think tank started by officials from Trump’s first administration, according to a Census Bureau employee who NPR has agreed not to name because they fear retaliation at work.”

SURPRISE! Trump is lying about a "Census Bureau" report that he says "proves" widespread illegal voting by non-U.S. citizens. But it was actually produced by a pro-Trump think tank, and experts say it "is questionable in its methodology and conclusions."www.npr.org/2026/08/19/n…

News Corpse (@newscorpse.bsky.social) 2026-08-20T09:49:18.641Z

Although the source of Trump’s data is entirely bogus, it was nice of them to concede that, even in their unreliable estimation, there was an insignificant amount of alleged non-citizen voting. 24,000 out of 128,000,000 comes to about 0.0187% of the total. So even if there were that many ineligible voters – and there is no evidence that there were – that’s not anywhere near enough to have any impact on the outcome of the election. It would likely represent only discrepancies by voters whose citizenship status wasn’t updated in the records, or routine computer errors.

The New York Times also published a story that affirmed the findings of NPR. Their story focused on data from Nevada, where officials with the Department of Homeland Security were unable to substantiate the ineligible voter claims.

“The administration claimed to have identified 278,000 noncitizens registered to vote in four states, including an exact number of 15,903 in Nevada. But during a meeting last week with state election administrators, Homeland Security officials said they had identified just 185 potential noncitizens in the state so far, according to emails as well as recordings of the meeting obtained by The New York Times.”

Once again, that’s a tiny fraction [0.0665%] of the registered voter base in Nevada. And it refers to only “potential” non-citizen voters. So the actual total is likely even less.

This is typical of how Trump and his regime endeavors to perpetuate his lies. They exploit and misrepresent reliable data sources, but distort them with manufactured data to deceive their already ill-informed and gullible MAGA cult disciples. And while it may work on their tiny target audience, the vast majority of Americans are smarter than that. Which explains why Trump and the GOP are so desperately failing.

Finally, here is a concise summary of this situation by Amanda Carpenter of Protect Democracy:

Sean Hannity Unloads a Laughably Lame Defense of Nepo-Sister Darline Graham Nordone

The fight for majority control of the Senate is getting more intense with each passing day. And while the Democratic prospects are improving, Republicans are becoming more desperate and driven by panic. Recent projections show that a Democratic Senate majority is the more likely outcome in November.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Fox News Sean Hannity

These projections are driving Republicans crazy – or crazier. They are resorting to bizarre campaign themes that reanimate the “red scare” tactics of the 1950s when fear mongering about communists around every corner was popular with the GOP. And it gets even worse than that on Donald Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda, aka Fox News…

SEE THIS: Fox News is OUTRAGED that Democrats are So Good Looking – No, REALLY!

Wednesday night’s episode of Sean Hannity’s program featured a segment wherein Hannity brought in the Trump-endorsed Senate candidate in South Carolina, Darline Graham Nordone, sister of the late Sen. Lindsey Graham. She was fresh off of a humiliating debate performance with her Republican primary opponent, Rep. Ralph Norman, where she was asked a straightforward question about U.S. policy toward Taiwan and babbled that…

“I’m not that informed on national security…so…but I do support the military. My brother was in the Air Force for 33 years, so I will do everything I can to support the military. My dad was in the Army. I’m not a polished politician up here. National security is not my thing, not my area of expertise.”

Okay then. National security isn’t her thing. It isn’t Trump’s thing either, and look at how well that’s turned out. But her problem isn’t that she’s unpolished. It’s that she’s uninformed. And the fact that her family has served in the military doesn’t mean that she has absorbed their knowledge telepathically. Despite what Hannity thinks…

Hannity: I bet based on all your time with your brother, that you know probably everything about the Middle East because he went on one trip after another to every country in the Middle East. And I know you know a lot about Europe and the Ukraine-Russia situation because he went to Ukraine more than any other senator. […]
Graham Nordone: Absolutely. I know national security is important. We have a wonderful commander in chief.

SERIOUSLY? Graham Nordone agrees “absolutely” with Hannity that she knows “everything about the Middle East” and Europe and Ukraine, because her brother had been there. That’s a pretty low bar. And judging by her remarks, she doesn’t even get over that.

Graham Nordone addressed a few other other subjects during this interview. For instance, she said that she’s concerned about what voters in South Carolina are concerned about, and that “They’re concerned about boys in girls’ sports.” Yeah, that’s probably number one on their priority list. Never mind the war in Iran, or how they are struggling to pay for groceries, gas, healthcare, housing, etc.

She also said that she wants to serve the 50 million people in South Carolina, where there are actually only 5.4 million people. And she opposes DEI, despite being an appointed sister of a senator, who has zero relevant knowledge or experience. And she supports Trump’s “Save America Act” (aka Voter Suppression Act). Even though, if it were passed, she wouldn’t be allowed to vote without jumping through some legal hoops because her legal married name doesn’t match the name on her birth certificate.

There is a runoff for the Republican nomination for this seat next week, where she is facing Rep. Norman. If she makes it past that, she will face the Democratic nominee, Dr. Annie Andrews, a truly impressive and qualified candidate who deserves your support. Although she doesn’t appear to have any siblings from whom she could magically divine knowledge. So Hannity and his ilk might consider that a drawback.

Fox News is OUTRAGED that Democrats are So Good Looking – No, REALLY!

The 2026 midterm election season is upon us and it is bringing out a severe bout of desperation from Donald Trump and his Republican confederates. Most polls show that the American people are fed up with Trump’s mishandling of the economy, the war in Iran, immigration, democracy, and virtually every other major issue.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Fox News Sad

With less than two and half months until election day, the Republicans’ standings in the polls are deeply deflated. The GOP (Greedy One Percent) is struggling to devise a plausible argument for anyone to vote for them. The only things that they have come up with so far is to accuse all Democrats of being communists, and that the GOP is led by His MAGA-sty Trump. Whose standings, irrespective of his narcissistic imagination, are even worse.

SEE THIS: Delusional Trump: ‘My REAL Polling Numbers Are the Best They Have Ever Been’ – OK Grandpa

In the midst of this right-wing electoral catastrophe, Trump’s Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) is coming to the rescue with a brilliant plan to turn the tide in favor of the MAGA-tists. On the Wednesday morning episode of “Outnumbered” co-host Ainsley Earhardt (Sean Hannity’s fiancé) introduced a line of attack that will surely crush Democratic hopes of success in November. She said that…

“[Democratic senatorial candidate Abdul] El-Sayed is out in these tight T shirts. You have AOC with her pretty smile. She’s beautiful. She’s got the red lipstick. You have Mamdani. Always smiling. Always seemingly positive. But it doesn’t make their philosophy any less dangerous, right? You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig.”

Yeah, that’s the ticket. Fox News has devolved to the point where they are trying to persuade their already ignorant audience not to vote for Democrats because they are so good looking. Not only does that contradict their previous claims that all Democrats are ugly, but it also ignores their own infatuations. Following Earhardt’s rant, her colleague, Kayleigh McEnany, added that “Socialism notwithstanding, I’m told Mamdani is really good looking in person.” Control yourselves ladies.

Earhardt doesn’t bother to go into the policies that she says are “dangerous.” Policies like Medicare for All; lower prices for gas, groceries, housing, etc.; comprehensive immigration reform that respects human rights; preserving the environment; holding political crooks accountable; and protecting democratic values and the Constitution. All of which are broadly popular with most Americans. But to Earhardt, her viewers “are not educated enough to know that socialism doesn’t work.”

Guest panelist Todd Piro affirmed Earhardt’s commentary with his own analysis that wasn’t much more than the pot calling the kettle vacuous. And he still didn’t have an answer to the political beauty gap – A contest that their Dear leader Trump, a morbidly obese, orange makeup wearing, octogenarian, would lose in a landslide. Piro said that…

“In a generation we have gone from “Which politician do you want to have a beer with?” to “Which politician do you want to hook up with?” This just shows the vacuousness of social media culture. And the Democrats using it shows the vacuousness of their policies. There’s no meat behind them. It’s all about looks. It’s all about the shiny facade.”

Once again, Piro deliberately avoided presenting the “meat” of the Democratic policies because he knows that people will approve of them. It is not a coincidence that most surveys show that Democrats are favored to win a majority in the House of Representatives, and possibly the Senate as well, so that they can implement their policies.

Of course, Democrats will not have a clear path to legislative victories, Trump will surely veto almost anything that they pass. But it’s still a useful exercise that gets every member on the record. Their votes will have an impact on the 2028 election for Congress and the presidency. And in the meantime, Democrats will be able to enforce some oversight and accountability for the ethical and criminal acts of Trump and his GOP minions. And they will look really good doing it.

FAMILY FEUD? Trump Contradicts Jared Kushner on Whether There Are Any Peace Talks With Iran

The war that Donald Trump started with Iran six months ago still has no end in sight. Never mind that he promised it wouldn’t last more than a few days, or that he has declared victory a couple of dozen times, or that he repeatedly claims that Iran is begging to surrender, or that every threat he’s made he has chickened out on, earning him the nickname TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out).

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Trump Tower in bombed out Gaza

Trump’s insistence that he has everything under control with Iran is as preposterous as his rat’s nest combover that he thinks hides his baldness. Every other week he announces a new “peace” deal, or ceasefire, or memorandum of understanding, or assessment that Iran lacks any military ability to continue fighting. None of which are connected to reality.

SEE THIS: Trump Posts an Absolutely BONKERS Comment on His Fake ‘Peace’ Deal with Iran

This week Trump’s purposeful deceptions with regard to the war reached a new level of lunacy. On Monday his son-in-lawlessness, Jared Kushner, who Trump has designated his “Special Envoy for Peace,” was interviewed on Fox News where he made some definitive statements on the situation in Iran. He said that…

“The conversations between the U.S. government and different areas of the Iranian government at all areas is probably more robust than it’s maybe ever been. And so there’s been a lot of good dialogues which I think is very helpful…They are engaging in a very strong way, and that’s quite positive.”

Well, that would all be very good news if it weren’t for the fact that the next day Trump posted a comment on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, that completely contradicts Kushner. He wrote that…

“There are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled, with the Islamic Republic of Iran. The Naval Blockade remains in full force and effect. The Hormuz Strait is open and operating. All water mines have been removed or detonated. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

To summarize, on Monday, according to Kushner, the conversations were “more robust than ever.” But on Tuesday, according to Trump, “There are no talks or conversations going on, or scheduled.”

So who do you believe? Both are such reliable and accomplished liars. Although Trump may have the edge here, with regard to peace talks, because he agrees with Iran, whose public statements on the war have proven to be far more accurate than any coming from U.S. sources. Of course, everything else else in Trump’s comment was blatantly false.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Will Kushner flip and try to spin that he was actually talking about a new hotel project in Tehran, and not about the war? Or will Trump blast Kushner as a radical lunatic who is spreading fake news? Perhaps he might fire Kushner and replace him with Mike Lindell, who is now looking for a job.

There is one thing that we learn for sure in all of this. Trump has absolutely no idea what he or his minions are doing. They are making it up as they go along. And failing with each new decision. Unfortunately, the American people are paying the price for his ignorance. As are the people of the world, including thousands of innocent Iranians. And how can expect Trump and his team to negotiate an agreement between the U.S. and Iran if they can’t even agree within his own family?

Fox News Lies that Gas Was Higher a Year Ago (It Wasn’t) But Will Drop When Iran is ‘Finished’

At a time when Donald Trump is scraping the barrel bottom in public approval, it calls for desperate measures by the MAGA media to shore up the ever widening gap between Trump’s Republican Party and the American people, who aren’t falling for the gaslighting they are being fed by the GOP (Greedy One Percent).

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump, Fox News, Lies

The issues that are dominating the political discourse as the midterm election approaches mainly deal with the economy that Trump has managed to wreck with his inflationary tariffs and his reckless and illegal war against Iran. Trump’s solution to this problem is to pretend that there is no problem, and to insist that everything is going really well – for the wealthy and corporations.

SEE THIS: New Trump Campaign Slogan: The Economy is Doing Unbelievably From the Standpoint of Wall Street

Naturally, Trump’s Ministry of Disinformation, aka Fox News, is coming to the rescue with a report on the price of gas. In this report their correspondent tells one story while their on-screen graphics tell another…

Fox News: “Trump is asking Americans for patience. Just hang a little bit more for gas because the unified message from here is that gas prices will drop quickly once the operation is finished. The president says that he has to do this to make sure that Iran never gets a nuclear weapon.”

Notice that the reporter acknowledges that gas prices are currently high, but says that, according to Dear Leader, it’s a temporary, but necessary, increase and that people should be patient. He doesn’t say for how long. Two weeks? Six months? Who knows?

Meanwhile, the video shows a chart that says that gas was $4.13 a year ago, and that it’s less than that today. That, of course, is not true. It was only $3.13 a year ago. So it’s nearly 32% more today.

Some people will dismiss this as an unfortunate typo. However, knowing the reputation Fox News has for deliberately lying, there is a good chance that it was a purposeful misrepresentation of reality to make Trump look good. Media professionals know that visuals have a bigger impact on television viewers than dialog. They will remember what they saw long after they have forgotten what was said.

What’s more, the reporter attributed the higher gas prices to the Iran war, and regurgitated the Trump regime’s line that “gas prices will drop quickly once the operation is finished.” Once again…Two weeks? Six months? Who knows?

The reporter also parrots Trump’s contention that this burden is justified in order to keep Iran from getting a nuclear weapon. Trump himself reiterated that in a post this morning on his dedicated propaganda platform, Truth Social, saying that “The number one Goal is, and always will be, that Iran cannot have, in any way, shape, or form, a Nuclear Weapon.” Although there is someone else who might have something to say about that…

UPDATE: Fox News has issued a correction of their gas price report. But they waited until the next day so that their lie could sink in for 24 hours. They also attached a comment unrelated to the “error” reiterating Trump’s self-serving claim that gas prices would fall quickly when the operations in Iran end.

Trump’s Attorney Genuflect, Todd Blanche, Virtually Admits that He’s a Flaming Trump Toady

When Donald Trump nominated Todd Blanche to be Attorney General there were immediate concerns raised about his resume that were overtly disqualifying. Not the least of which was that he was Trump’s personal criminal defense lawyer, a role from which his legal obligations never expire absent extraordinary circumstances.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump and Todd Blanche puppet

Blanche is a devoted election denier. He is one of the architects of Trump’s slush fund to reward insurrectionists who assaulted police officers on January 6th, 2021. His “Justice” Department has launched numerous investigations and prosecutions of Trump critics. He has been instrumental in suppressing the Jeffrey Epstein files. It doesn’t take a stable genius to recognize that Blanche is an imminent threat to American law and order, and even democracy…

SEE THIS: Trump Mulls Declaring a National Emergency to Rig Elections, Says ‘Stranger Things Have Happened’

Upon confirmation, Blanche wasted no time demonstrating that he would always remain loyal to Trump, rather than to the law or the Constitution. He was asked about that in an interview Sunday morning on Meet the Press. The host, Kristen Welker, noted that former Trump Attorney General, Bill Barr, once told him that his election denials were “detached from reality.” Which led to the following exchange with Blanche…

Welker: If you were faced with a similar situation, something that you did not think met this standard, the legal standard in your mind, would you stand up to the president?
Blanche: I will always stand up for what’s right. The president does not expect any of his leaders, including me, to just say yes to him no matter what he says. So of course there’s vigorous back and forth with every Cabinet member and the president of the United States. Which is exactly what president Trump expects.

There is this extraordinarily false narrative that the president wakes up in the morning and calls me and says, ‘Todd, go prosecute X or Y.’ He does not do that. He has never done that. He will never do that. So if there is something that he wants to do, but he needs to know that there is a challenge, or that we can’t do it, of course I will tell him.

There is an abundance of bullshittery in that reply. Let’s break it down, shall we? To begin with, Blanche’s response to whether he would ever stand up to Trump was that “I will always stand up for what’s right.” Which is not the same thing as standing up to Trump. After all, he seems to believe that Trump is always right. Consequently, he’s saying that he will always stand up FOR Trump, not TO him.

Then Blanche says that Trump doesn’t expect his staff to always agree with him. REALLY? Trump is notorious for terminating anyone who isn’t unflinchingly adoring and supportive. Which is why he keeps scheduling Cabinet meetings where he forces his flunkies to praise him for a couple of cringeworthy hours.

Next Blanche shoots down the notion that Trump calls him with instructions on who to prosecute, or to cease prosecution. So we are expected to believe that it’s just a coincidence that only Trump’s critics are being persecuted, while cases against his friends are dropped. Not to mention his blatant bias with pardons.

What’s more, Trump wouldn’t even have to call Blanche. Trump makes his desires known with daily posts to his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social. So Trump’s underlings know exactly what he wants of them, and they obey like good little fascist minions.

Blanche wraps up by reiterating that if Trump “needs to know that there is a challenge, or that we can’t do” one of his requests, that Blanche will tell him. Once again, that is not standing up to him if he asks for something that improper or illegal. It only addresses whether it is doable.

So the bottom line is that Blanche will do anything Trump asks if he can. Which makes him unfit to serve as Attorney General. And shame on the Republicans in the Senate who know this and confirmed him anyway.

MAGA Mike Johnson Chokes When Asked on Fox News What the Republican Alternative to Socialism Is

The Republican Party has been scrounging around for a campaign theme with which to compete with Democrats who are trouncing them in recent polls. They have the distinct disadvantage of being led by Donald Trump, whose approval rating is hitting record lows. If the election were held today the Democrats would sweep into majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

Click here to post this article on Twitter or Click here to post on Bluesky

Donald Trump and Mike Johnson

So far the best that Republicans can do is to parrot Trump and his recycled 1950s “red scare” rhetoric. But the strategy of calling all Democrats communists isn’t working because voters aren’t as stupid as Trump and his MAGA cult think they are. Voters aren’t falling for malarkey like this…

SEE THIS: Trump Reveals His Midterm Election Theme: ‘If The Communists Get In You’ll Never Fish Again’

Trump followed up the fish gambit with an economic pitch. He told reporters that “the economy is doing unbelievably from the standpoint of Wall Street.” Unfortunately, from the standpoint of Main Street it sucks. So that campaign theme is likely to bomb as well.

Undeterred by reality, the Republican Squeaker of the House, MAGA Mike Johnson, is determined to push the economic story. However, his plans are devoid of any substantive proposals for how the GOP will actually resolve the problems that they and their Dear Leader have caused. So Johnson visited Fox News Saturday morning and had the following exchange with host (and former Trump press secretary) Kayleigh McEnany…

McEnany: If you’re a young person watching this and you’re disenchanted, and you can’t afford a home, and you’re having trouble with healthcare, and you feel failed by the economy, what is the Republican alternative to the socialists which might be alluring to someone that doesn’t have the education about its failures?
Johnson: Well, the answer is not to turn everything over to the government, because that never works. That drives prices up. It leads to famine. It leads to human suffering and poverty for everyone. But the answer is limited government and individual freedom and the rule of law. the things that the Republicans have been fighting for.

FOX NEWS: If you're a young person and you're disenchanted, you can't afford a home, you're having trouble with healthcare & you feel failed by the economy, what is the Republican alternative?MIKE JOHNSON: Well, the answer is not to turn everything over to the government, because that never works

McEnany actually asked a good question about the financial burdens that many Americans are suffering since Trump reoccupied the White House. It was a straight forward inquiry that gave Johnson an opportunity to explain the Republican plan. But for some reason he didn’t even try. Although his reply at least acknowledged that there is a problem, which contradicts Trump’s delusional insistence that we are living in “The Golden Age” with the best economy ever.

Johnson led off with a hackneyed rant about not “turn[ing] everything over to the government.” Which no Democrat has ever advocated. Democratic Socialism – which, for the MAGA-tists reading this, is not communism – merely proposes to make government more democratic and responsive to the needs of the people. For example, Medicare, public schools, and food and product safety regulations.

Then Johnson concluded by rattling off a series of concepts, not plans that can be implemented. And each of them highlights the hypocrisy of Republican politics. They do not pursue limited government by mandating religious practices. And forcing women to obey the government rather than their doctors when planning families is hardly individual freedom. And a party led by a convicted felon and adjudicated rapist, who exploits his office to enrich himself, and grants pardons to violent insurrectionists and cop-beaters, can’t rationally lay claim to the rule of law.

This is the sinkhole from which Republicans have to dig themselves out of. But they only have two and a half months left to do it. And if they continue to rely on wild-eyed accusations of communism, and oblivious denials of economic hardship, they might as well just give up on campaigning and spend their time on losing illegal wars in the Middle East, sprucing up the White House with gold-plated filigree, and staging professional wrestling matches. Oh, wait. They’re already doing that.

New Trump Campaign Slogan: The Economy is Doing Unbelievably From the Standpoint of Wall Street

Democrats are excitedly anticipating the upcoming midterm elections. Every poll shows them winning a majority in the House of Representatives, and likely in the Senate as well. Meanwhile, Republicans are suffering from one of the lowest public approval ratings in modern history.

Trump Penthouse Phone

The dismal prospects for the GOP (Greedy One Percent) are driven by the record low ratings for their Dear Leader, Donald Trump. He is hovering around the mid-to-low thirties, and trending even lower. Republican candidates are desperately trying to convince voters that everything is hunky dory, and their financial burdens are figments of their imaginations. The MAGA Party seems to be running on a reprise of the “red scare” tactics of the 1950s when there were communists lurking around every corner.

Apparently the communism fear mongering hasn’t been getting the results they hoped for. So now Trump is trying out a new campaign theme that is virtually guaranteed to be even worse. In a Friday morning press gaggle, Trump told reports that…

“I have a lot of things that are happening. A lot of good things. The economy is doing unbelievably from the standpoint of Wall Street.”

HOORAY! Things are going fantastically well for Wall Street. So if you are a big corporation, or someone with investments in them, you’re on Easy Street. If not, stop your whining and be happy for your capitalist overlords who are generously trickling down on you with minimum wage jobs under slave-like conditions.

After all, the corporatist moguls know what’s best for the little people. And Trump is their messiah. He truly understands what it’s like to struggle through these difficult times. Just listen to what he told his MAGA cult rally in Uniondale on Long Island, New York today…

“I just say this: For you to pay a tiny little bit more for your gasoline, just remember…you’re at $4.00 – it’s okay. I’ll never apologize. I did the right thing.”

SEE? It’s OK for YOU to pay a little more (actually about 30% more) for gas (and for groceries, and housing, and healthcare, etc.). So why are you complaining? And Trump, whose incompetence, negligence, and greed are responsible for it all, will never apologize. Because a messiah is infallible and never does anything wrong.

Trump’s stewardship of the economy has been a flaming fiasco. He has increased inflation, exploded the deficit, and cut services for everything from food for low income families, to medicine for seniors, to education and more. And in the meantime he is spending hundreds of millions on ballrooms and statues, and billions on gift jets from Qatar and illegal wars.

So let’s it y’all: “The economy is doing unbelievably from the standpoint of Wall Street.” And “It’s OK to pay more for gas.” Put that message on some red hats. Have some posters printed up. And be sure to vote in November. Which really, REALLY, can’t come soon enough.
