The Trump Cult Knows He’s Guilty, So They’re All on Fox News Yammering About Planted Evidence

In the wake of the FBI searching Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago bunker, his worshipful cult followers have been mired in panic mode. Their reaction is perhaps the the most telling proof that Trump is guilty of serious crimes, and they know it.

What’s astonishing about the post-FBI search is that none of Trump’s Deplorables are attempting to argue that he’s innocent. They are in lockstep formation attacking the the FBI and the Justice Department as corrupt, dishonest practitioners of radical leftist, banana republic tactics. Never mind that they haven’t produced a shred of evidence to support their hair-on-fire harangues. And pay no attention to the fact that FBI Director Chris Wray was appointed by Trump, who said he was “an impeccably qualified individual, and I know that he will again serve his country as a fierce guardian of the law and model of integrity.” Oops.

More specifically, the Trumpists are falling in line behind the utterly baseless charge that the FBI planted evidence against Trump during the Mar-a-Lago visit. It’s a shameful and reckless allegation for which the only basis is their perverse imaginations. But it has rapidly become the mantra at Fox “News” because, despite it’s pitiful idiocy, it’s the least idiotic defense they can fabricate on such short notice.

What Trump and his Fox friends are doing is laying the groundwork to deny the validity of the evidence that they know the FBI has confiscated from Trump’s Palm Beach compound. In other words, they know that Trump is guilty. And since the hard documents that Trump stole from the White House – many of which are classified – will be unimpeachably incriminating, the only thing Trump’s minions can do is try to characterize them as fake or planted by a cabal of dozens of law enforcement professionals working in tandem with Justice Department officials and the White House.

It’s a conspiracy theory that puts the “lizard people” proponents to shame. But it’s what is on the script for Team Trump today. As evidence of the coordination in place for this preposterous fan fiction, what follows are some of the wild commentaries on Fox News from just the past 24 hours…

Jesse Watters: What the FBI is probably doing is planting evidence, which is what they did during the Russia hoax. We also have a hunch that they doctored evidence to get the warrant.

Trump lawyer Alina Habba: Quite honestly, I’m concerned that they may have planted something. At this point who knows? I don’t trust the government.

Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt: What Was in Those Backpacks?
Sen. Rand Paul: Do I know that the boxes of material they took from Mar-a-Lago, that they won’t put things in those boxes to entrap him? How do we know? […]
Ainsley Earhardt: His lawyer said they brought in backpacks, what was in those backpacks? Did they bring those in to fill them up or did they have something in there?

Trump attorney (and former OAN shill) Christina Bobb: At this point I don’t “necessarily” think that they would even go to the extent of trying to plant information. I think they just make stuff up.

And of course, Wannabe messiah Trump…

“The FBI and others from the Federal Government would not let anyone, including my lawyers, be anywhere near the areas that were rummaged and otherwise looked at during the raid on Mar-a-Lago. Everyone was asked to leave the premises, they wanted to be left alone, without any witnesses to see what they were doing, taking or, hopefully not, ‘planting.’ Why did they STRONGLY insist on having nobody watching them, everybody out? Obama and Clinton were never ‘raided,’ despite big disputes!”

Who wants to to tell Trump that neither President Obama nor Hillary Clinton committed crimes that warranted being raided? Although the FBI did examine Clinton’s emails just eleven days prior to the presidential election of 2016, she never presented any risk of tampering with, or destroying evidence. Unlike Trump. Also, it is routine for search warrants to be executed without others around contaminating the potential crime scene. Particularly others with interests in altering the outcome of the search.

Trump is known to have shredded, flushed, and even eaten documents that were required by law to be preserved. He took dozens of boxes from the White House and, when challenged, only returned some them, lying that it was all he had. And now that the FBI has recovered more of the materials that Trump stole, he and his goon squad are maligning law enforcement and manufacturing an argument that any evidence of a crime was planted. Which is a pretty good indication that they know there is evidence of a crime – or crimes – in what the FBI recovered.

Finally, if Trump is really so upset that the search warrant was improper, why doesn’t he release his copy of it as proof? The FBI cannot do so if it is under seal, but there is nothing stopping Trump – except his consciousness of guilt. Trump’s glassy-eyed disciples should ask themselves this question: Why would he hesitate to release information that would exonerate him? The answer: For the same reason he refuses to testify under oath and obstructs his supporters from doing so. He’s guilty and he knows it.

Eric Trump Admits on Fox News that the Trump Admin Interfered with Justice Department Business

On Monday the FBI served a search warrant on Donald Trump’s Palm Beach resort, Mar-a-Lago. And the mindlessly defensive responses have revealed boatload of info about the criminal proclivities of the former First Family.

For his part, Donald Trump released an utterly inane statement that that only served to make him look more guilty. That was followed by hour after hour of Fox News hyperbolically insisting that civil war was imminent and/or the the world was coming to an end, simply because Trump might finally be being held accountable for his crimes.

Now Eric Trump is contributing to the mess with another appearance on Fox News wherein he does more harm than good for himself and his father. He told Jesse Watters that…

“I know the White House as well anyone. I spent a lot of time there. I know the system. This did not happen without Joe Biden’s explicit approval. The White House approved of this. Mark my words. It will come out.

“I love to see the Press Secretary out there today, ‘We had no knowledge of this at all.’ Give me a break. A field office wouldn’t take … they wouldn’t even think of doing this without the sign-off of the President of the United States. This is raiding one of the most famous houses on planet Earth. One of the most famous people – probably the most famous person on planet Earth. Give me a break.”

Let’s just set aside the absurd assertion that Donald Trump is the “most famous person on planet Earth,” or that that has any relevance to his being the subject of a criminal investigation.

The more salient point is that Eric is confessing that during his father’s occupancy of the White House, it would be unheard of for an investigation to proceed without the President’s approval. That is, in fact, a serious violation of legal protocol. The Justice Department is supposed to be an independent agency that is run without the interference of political motivations.

However, according to Eric, who is bragging about his in depth grasp of how the system works, the Trump White House didn’t observe any such independence. Which explains Trump repeatedly firing his own attorneys general when they wouldn’t obey his corrupt orders.

Eric also mentioned that he doesn’t believe the White House Press Secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, when she says that President Biden had no prior knowledge of the FBI operation at Mar-a-Lago. Which is precisely how the system is actually supposed to work. But Eric’s remarks indicate that was not how it worked during the Trump administration.

Fox News is just as ill-informed as Eric Trump. At the daily press briefing on Tuesday, Fox’s Peter Doocy engaged in the following exchange with Jean-Pierre…

Doocy: Is this administration weaponizing the Justice Department and the FBI against political opponents?
Jean-Pierre: Peter, the President believes in the rule of law. The President believes in the Department of Justice…
Doocy (interrupting): That’s a yes or no.
Jean-Pierre: It’s a yes or no for you. I’m answering the question. You may not like it, but I’m answering the question…
Doocy (interrupting): [unintelligible]
Jean-Pierre: No…no. I’m answering the question. And I am telling you we are not going to comment on a criminal investigation. The President has been very clear. I’ve laid out what his thoughts were back on January 7, 2021, about how he saw the Department of Justice. And I’m just going to leave it there. We’re not going to comment from here, from this White House, on a criminal investigation that is currently happening.

Once again, that is precisely how these matter should be handled. For Doocy to badger Jean-Pierre to improperly blab about ongoing investigations proves that he is unfit for the position of a White House correspondent anywhere in the media. Well, anywhere except for Fox News where knowledge and professionalism are considered character flaws.

Fox News Spews Knee-Jerk Defense of Wannabe Dictator Trump After FBI Search of Mar-a-Lago

In what everyone – including Donald Trump – is calling an unprecedented act by federal law enforcement authorities, the Trump compound at Mar-a-Lago was the subject of a search warrant by FBI agents in connection to Trump’s potentially criminal removal and possession of classified documents from the White House.

Republicans and right-wing media are fixated on the unprecedented nature of this operation, while desperately seeking to ignore the criminal part. But the only reason it is unprecedented is because no president has ever acted so brazenly in the commission of crimes as Trump. And even while he rages over the indignity of being held accountable to the law like any other American, Trump frantically scrambles to shift attention away from his legal troubles, to unrelated matters about everything from the his Russian collusion scandals to Hillary Clinton.

As soon as the story of the FBI visit to Mar-a-Lago broke, Fox News went to work obediently excusing Trump’s legal malfeasance and baselessly accusing President Biden and the Democrats of engaging in an improper persecution of The Former Guy. In an Olympian feat of projection, they likened it to third-world and/or fascist tactics. Never mind that they couldn’t provide a shred of rational support for their wild charges.

The usual suspects at Fox News launched into hysterical defenses of Trump, affirming their role as boot-licking sycophants. It began with Jesse Watters who presented a parade of Trumpist Fox contributors such as Dana Loesch and Dan Bongino to malign the “radical leftists” at the FBI.

That led into Will Cain, sitting in for Tucker Carlson, who somehow managed to book Lara Trump on a moments notice. The thrust of her attempt at whitewashing the affair was that her sugar-daddy-in-law just “loves to save things like newspaper clippings, magazine clippings, photographs.” Yeah, that’s the ticket. He was just scrapbooking. She went on, of course, to divert the low attention span Fox viewers, directing them to “Look at Hillary Clinton. the 33,000 emails that she just deleted.”

The headliner for the night was Sean Hannity. And he didn’t disappoint, so lang as your analysis is based on flagrant deception and hostility. Hannity brought on another unbiased guest, Eric Trump, who said that…

“Going back to Hillary [Clinton], There’s a whole lot of other things. How about the Benghazi scandals? How about the Clinton Foundation? I mean, how many shady oligarchs from Russia were contributing to that? How about Uranium One? You want to talk about scandals that were never investigated, never vetted?”

Literally every item that Eric uttered was a non-scandal that was indeed investigated and had been proven to be fabricated. Clinton testified under oath for eleven hours (something Trump is too cowardly to do), and no evidence of wrongdoing was found. The Clinton Foundation is a pillar of the charitable world, receiving the top rating from charity watchdogs. As opposed to Trump’s foundation that was shuttered by New York authorities for committing fraud. The Uranium One matter was a wholly contrived sham created by Fox News and the GOP.

Eric also explicitly accused Biden of being at the head of the imaginary cabal against his father. And for an added serving of comedy, Hannity punctuated his propaganda by dementedly messing up the old adage about dotting i’s and crossing t’s…

Much of the wingnut argument on Fox News has been centered on a campaign to literally defund the FBI. That’s quite a reversal from their prior position attacking Democrats for being anti-police. What’s more, they have entirely – or conveniently – forgotten that the FBI director, Chris Wray, is a Trump appointee. They even brought in felon Steve Bannon, who pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI, but was later pardoned by Trump. Bannon advocated for cutting off funds to the agency that he lied to:

“The House leaders right now need to step up and recommit Jim Jordan. Full investigation, I think, cutting off appropriations to the FBI to get to the bottom of this. This is gonna continue on. The FBI right now is the Gestapo.”

At least Bannon didn’t insult the FBI as being gazpacho. However, this take by Fox’s Todd Starnes may truly be the most deranged…

One thing all of this Trump-fawning settles is the question as to whether Fox News is still on Trump’s side. Clearly they are as worshipful of Trump as ever. There may have had a brief moment wherein a couple of Murdoch’s newspapers went off script, but Fox News itself is still a fully indoctrinated mouthpiece for the Trump cult.

Karine Jean-Pierre Has to School Peter Doocy of Fox News that Lower Gas Prices Are a Good Thing

Fox’s White House correspondent, Peter Doocy, is the frontline propagator of their propaganda. He occupies a seat at the daily press briefings tasked by his bosses, the Murdochs, to manufacture phony controversies and try to embarrass the President and his spokespeople with “gotcha” questions. Unfortunately for Fox News, he has never been very good at it.

On Friday Doocy sought to waste the time of every in the room by asking Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre a question that reeked of bias and ignorance. Jean-Pierre replied with a remarkable degree of patience, considering the blitheringly idiotic inquisition by Doocy:

Doocy: Why is the president bragging today about gas prices?
Jean-Pierre: Because it’s gone down.

That’s right! The answer was as simple as that. But it was way above Doocy’s capacity to grasp it. Or perhaps just outside of his mandate as a disinformation disseminator. And yet, after being politely told why President Biden was happy about the trend in gas prices, Doocy felt compelled to resume his badgering:

Doocy: It’s still $1.72 higher than when he took office.
Jean-Pierre: It has come down in a way we haven’t seen, it’s trajectory coming down, in over a decade.
Doocy: It’s still over $4.00 a gallon though. Is that good?
Jean-Pierre: You want to talk to a nurse or a teacher or a firefighter, if having that little bit of breathing room doesn’t matter to them. […] That matters. And the reason we’re seeing that is because of the work this President has done the last several months.

For the record, gas prices have been falling for two months. In much of the country the average price is below $4.00 per gallon, a decline of 20%. Most consumers would regard that as positive news.

While oil is an international commodity that no president can control, Biden can take some of the credit for the savings due to his affirmative action. Early on he ordered the release of a million barrels of oil a day from the strategic reserve. He put pressure on oil companies and stations not to gouge consumers as oil prices were falling. He supported alternative energy and vehicles, which reduces demand while supplies were increasing, which drives down prices.

In the meantime, Fox News and the Republican Party they shill for, seem to be upset that the American people are saving money on gas. While they steadfastly blamed Biden as the prices rose, they are now criticizing him for the decline. And Doocy’s insinuation that people should still be mad because gas costs more than it did in 2020, ignores the reality of the marketplace. There’s a reason that Biden once referred to Doocy as a “stupid SOB.”

When Biden took office the nation was still suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic at its peak, and people were not traveling very much or even commuting to work. That absence of demand is what brought gas prices down so artificially low. Since Biden’s inauguration the pandemic situation, and the economy, have improved considerably. Consequently, people are back to work, they’re taking trips, and they are considerably more confident that they can spend money – even with inflation – without risking their financial welfare.

All of that is positive news for the nation and the people. But leave it to Fox News to try to find some apocalyptic spin that they can use to foment fear and make people’s lives miserable. Because they want people to to be miserable in order to have something to bash Biden with. And stirring up political hostilities is much higher on their priority list than telling the truth. Especially if the truth might make people happier and look more favorably toward the President.

Fox News Hack Tucker Carlson Lamely Tries to Insult Jon Stewart, Gets Another Brutal Beat Down

Some people just don’t know when to leave bad enough alone. And at the top of the list of those pitifully oblivious meatheads is the Fox News Senior Schmuck and Fascist Asslicker, Tucker Carlson. For someone who has been savagely steamrolled so often in the past, you might think that Carlson had learned something. You would be wrong.

On Thursday night’s episode of Carlson’s White Nationalist Hour on Fox News, he felt compelled to malign America’s most beloved humorist, Jon Stewart. The impetus for this attack was that Stewart had the gall to speak out on behalf of American soldiers who were poisoned while serving, but for whom the country was not providing necessary healthcare. Stewart’s efforts contributed to the bipartisan passage of the PACT Act (despite eleven Republicans voting against it) that will finally deliver the care that they need.

So what on Earth could have triggered Tucker into such a tempestuous tantrum? Well, apparently it has something to do with his looks, particularly his height. Carlson lashed out maniacally at Stewart accusing him of…

“…looking like a guy who lives in the men’s room at your public library, eating imaginary insects out of the air. And he was there to get, for some reason, into a shouting match with the senior editor of Human Events called Jack Posobiec. […] He looks demented.”

This raises the question of how Carlson is so familiar with denizens of men’s rooms at libraries. More to the point, Carlson completely misunderstood the reason Stewart was there. It wasn’t to argue with Posobiec, a notorious racist and conspiracy theorist. It was to help the heroes that Fox News pretends to support. But Carlson was just getting started. After playing a brief, and purposely edited video clip intended to make Stewart look bad, Carlson went on to rant…

“That’s Jon Stewart? The famous Jon Stewart? He looks like a homeless mental patient. He’s shrieking and disheveled. And very short. Really short. Too short to date. Was he always that short? What happened? Where’s he been the last 7 years? If you know, let us know. We want answers.”

Yes, Tuckums. That’s the famous Jon Stewart, passionately standing up for sick veterans, which is more than you’ve ever done for anyone else. And while Stewart may be only 5’7″, if he 6’7″ he still wouldn’t date you. So take a cold shower in a library men’s room and get over it. Or go try to get a date with the “sexy” cartoon M&Ms that make you so hot.

It’s interesting that Stewart works so hard on behalf of others, but Carlson can only find fault with his height. Carlson’s hatred of short people says much more about himself than it does of Stewart. However, Stewart had a prompt and appropriate response…

“Friends. Tonite I am sad. @TuckerCarlson believes me too short to date…and yet somehow, miraculously, I remain tall enough to not know what Victor Orban’s ass tastes like! Is it goulash Tucky? Seems like it would be goulash.”

OUCH! Did Carlson really think he could beat Stewart in a battle of the burns? Stewart’s retort was both funny and topical. Hungarian dictator Orbán just spoke at the ultra-rightist CPAC conference where the conservative crowd cheered his racist and authoritarian views. Carlson is a huge fan of Orbán, having traveled to Hungary in order to do a slobberingly softball interview late last year.

What’s more, Carlson’s infatuation with Orbán is reciprocal. Orbán recently praised Carlson saying that “programs like his should be broadcasted day and night. Or as you say 24/7.'” He better be careful or Vladimir Putin, who Carlson is also enamored of, will get jealous.

This, of course, isn’t the first battering that Carlson has had by Stewart. In 2005 Stewart appeared on CNN’s Crossfire which was co-hosted by Paul Begala and Carlson. In that encounter Stewart told Carlson that he was “not going to be your monkey,” and that he is “as big a dick on [Crossfire] as you are on any show.” A few weeks later Crossfire was canceled and Carlson was fired. It’s clear that Carlson has never gotten over it. Watch the classic exchange below.

Joe Manchin Calls Out Fox News Host for Lying About Biden Raising Taxes on the Middle Class

Sen. Joe Manchin has become the Democrat that Democrats love to hate. He has obstructed legislation that his party and his President have worked on for months. Legislation that would benefit most of the American people, as well as the Party’s political prospects for the upcoming midterm elections.

While the concerns of mainstream Democrats is understandable, some of the attacks on Manchin have been shortsighted. After all if he were not a Democrat, then Mitch McConnell would be majority leader and every Senate committee would be chaired by a Republican member of the Trump cult. And it would be difficult to elect any other Democratic senator from the blood-red state of West Virginia.

On Tuesday morning Manchin was interviewed by Harris Faulkner on Fox News (video below). And he illustrated just why Democrats are fortunate to have him on their side, despite the intra-party troubles he causes. Those troubles should not be downplayed. They are serious. But he is still better than the alternative, which would be more of the GOP (Greedy One Percent).

Faulkner sought to open a discussion on whether the “Inflation Reduction Act” proposed by President Biden and the Democrats raises taxes on middle class Americans. She played a video clip of Fox’s Peter Doocy asking White house Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about the Joint Committee on Taxation saying that it does raise such taxes. Manchin shot that down by revealing a fact that Fox News hoped to suppress…

Faulkner: We gotta know the bottom line on taxes.
Manchin: Let me tell you the bottom line on that Harris. You want to know the bottom line – the Joint Committee on Taxation? That opinion was only written by my friends on the Republican side. It was not done by the whole Joint Committee. So that is unfair.

The interview went south for Fox News from there…

Manchin: Let’s be accurate what we’re doing here. The bottom line is how in the world can you be raising taxes when all we’re saying is the wealthiest corporations in America – 55 of them pay zero to help this great country of ours.
Faulkner: So how does this change that.
Manchin: It’s a minimum 15%. The tax rate was at 35% before 2017. Then it went to 21%. That was a tremendous savings. But that’s not good enough, I guess. All We’re saying is a 15% minimum. Everyone I know in West Virginia, and most people around the country, is paying a 21% corporate or greater. So why can’t the greatest billion dollars of revenue a year, why can’t they pay at least 15% for this great country? […]
Faulkner: But $400,000 was supposed to be the cut off. But I’m reading – and I am reading Senator – that it’s below that now.
Manchin: Who is paying any taxes that doesn’t have a corporation that has revenue of over a billion dollars a year? Not one person.

Faulkner nevertheless persisted with her wholly dishonest line of questioning…

Faulkner: I’m saying that Americans, $400,000 and below are now going to be taxed. Their taxes are gonna go up.
Manchin: That’s a lie. A pure outright lie.
Faulkner: So their taxes are not gonna go up.
Manchin: Not at all. And you know one thing? How about the people that are gonna be saving on their Medicare who are paying $288 billion higher prices than they should? They didn’t even assume that in the evaluation.

After being called a liar to her face, Faulkner still badgered Manchin with charges by McConnell and other Republicans that taxes would go up. Manchin hurled back that they were “totally absolutely wrong.” He told Faulkner that the questions she was asking, and the facts she has, are “completely wrong.” Then he refused to participate in her efforts to turn the debate on the bill into a political brawl saying that “This is not a political piece of legislation. This is an American legislation.”

Then Manchin pointedly asked Faulkner if she was “scared that we’re going to do something good that will help our country?” Which she took personally and got all huffy, yammering about the bible and her father who served. But Manchin’s remark was spot on, as Republicans – and their Fox News mouthpieces – are indeed afraid of anything passing that helps the nation because they would rather that people suffer than risk letting Biden and the Democrats get credit for achieving positive goals. Manchin closed the interview saying that…

“This is not about whether you like the President or whether you like Democrats. Do you like America? Do you want us to succeed as a country? Do you want to fight inflation? This bill does it.”

This interview shows how desperately Fox News wants to keep anything that benefits the American people from coming to pass. And they will load up their questions with lies and frantically seek to divert in order to halt progress or help people. They will also viciously flip on Manchin, their favorite Democrat, who yesterday they considered a brilliant, nonpartisan representative of the people.

Trump Proves His Idiocy (Again): He Thinks Verizon Dropping One America News (OAN) is Illegal

The depth of Donald Trump’s ignorance is impossible to measure. He is the Mariana Trench of stupidity. And yet, he seems perpetually compelled to show off how pitifully feeble-minded he is at every opportunity. He appears to have a perverse pride in being an utter imbecile. Perhaps it makes him feel closer to his dimwitted cult followers.

Donald Trump, OAN

On Sunday morning Trump posted a comment on his miserably failing social media website, TRUTH Social (that is currently being criminally investigated by a Grand Jury), yowling about the decision by Verizon to drop One America News (OAN), his favorite, ultra-rightist disinformation channel. That decision may be the death knell for OAN who have now lost all but one of their cable outlets.

Naturally, Trump was shocked and outraged that a private company made a rational business decision that conflicted with Trump’s inbred biases and petulant self interests. Especially OAN, that has served as his virtual North Korean style Ministry of Propaganda from its inception. So he raged on his Twitter ripoff site that…

“One America News (OAN) is AMAZING, with great ratings and a REALLY loyal following. Despite it being so good, VERIZON, for purely political reasons, will be terminating OAN at the end of this month. Isn’t this ‘stuff’ supposed to be illegal? The good news is that the owners and management of One America News is smart and very wise. They will figure it out!”

What’s “AMAZING” is how ridiculously foolish Trump can be, and how proud he seems to be of it. Trump’s assertion that OAN has “great ratings” is laughably untrue. Their audience is so small that Nielsen doesn’t even track it. So you have to wonder what “ratings” Trump is referring to. Although Trump may be right about OAN having a loyal following, because that’s what cults do.

Trump goes on to accuse Verizon of ditching OAN for “purely political reasons.” Of course, he doesn’t offer a shred evidence to support that charge. However there is an obvious financial justification for dropping a channel that has a negligible number of viewers. What’s more, OAN is being sued for defamation by the voting software company, Smartmatic. The case revolves around the part OAN has played in promulgating Trump’s “Big Lie” about election fraud. Cable programmers would be wise to distance themselves from such potentially damaging legal exposure.

Finally, Trump asks his TRUTH(less) (Anti)Social followers “Isn’t this ‘stuff’ supposed to be illegal?” Sure, if you live in a totalitarian dictatorship where the media is required to obey the mandates of power mad demagogues. But in a nation where a free press is protected by its Constitution, private companies are permitted to make their own business decisions in the best interest of their shareholders, employees, and customers. In the United States it would, in fact, be illegal for the government to interfere with such decisions.

Trump, however, has always leaned toward tyranny. He prefers a country wherein he is the fuehrer making decisions that only benefit him. He had the same autocratic reaction to OAN being dropped by DirecTV earlier this year. And he couldn’t stop whining about it for months. So strap in. We can expect the same sort of obsessive ravings over the Verizon decision going forward.

Tucker Carlson is Making Profane, Homophobic Jokes About People Suffering from Monkeypox

The Republican Party has never been known for its empathy and concern for the welfare of human beings. Their entire political philosophy is aimed at causing the most harm possible for the people already struggling with hardship. Whether it be financial, health, bigotry, criminal justice, etc., the GOP is against people in need, while they eagerly advance the interests of corporations and the wealthy.

Fox News, Tucker Carlson, STFU

Consequently, it should come as no surprise that the most pompous of asses on Fox News, Tucker Carlson, is exhibiting just how careless he can be about others, particularly those for whom he has long had a seething hatred.

On his Thursday night program, Carlson sought to stir up his sadism and prejudice into something that he thought would be fun. So he presented his audience of deplorables with a Twitter poll to rename the Monkeypox. Because what could be funnier than some jokey names for a disease that is contagious and painful?

Carlson’s poll included the following suggestions for a new name: Hunter Hives; Midterm Variant; Adam Schiffilis; and Sclong Covid. Note that three of the choice were overtly political, albeit typically infantile in nature. The fourth was profane and purposefully derogatory toward gay men who are among the sufferers. And of course, it was the fourth that won.

When the poll was completed, Carlson went on the air to gleefully announce the results. He began by saying that he thought that “Monkeypox” was the coolest name ever. You have to wonder whether he thinks it’s even cooler than “Mad Cow Disease,” or “Cat Scratch Fever.” He probably thinks that “Pancreatic Cancer” is hysterical.

Then Carlson went on to order his braindead viewers to call the director of the CDC to waste the time of the agency’s staff with their childish antics. Carlson closed by taking a shot at Rep. Eric Swalwell with an especially stupid Photoshop prank that had absolutely nothing to do with the rest of the segment. It was just Tucker being his asinine self.

It doesn’t matter how often you see these cretins on Fox News acting like idiots, it still boggles the mind how they could get on the air, and how anyone could watch them for more than a few seconds. But it is particularly galling when their attempts at humor are so laden with hostility and insensitivity toward the suffering of others. And their animus is always built around a political goal. For instance, Carlson recently commented on gas prices, noting that low prices in the U.S. are more important than the lives of Ukrainians.

However, it does explain how Carlson, and the rest of the Fox News hacks, can lie so flagrantly about deadly diseases like COVID, when they know that their lies contribute to so much more suffering and death. It appears to be what they are aiming for.

Sean Hannity Slobbers All Over ‘Super Trump’ for Contracting a Worse Case of COVID than Biden

Last week President Biden announced that he had tested positive for the coronavirus. Like many others, he was exposed to the most recent variant, Omicron BA.5, that is reported to be the most transmissible yet. Fortunately, Biden is fully vaccinated and boosted, and thus, suffered only mild symptoms and quickly recovered. He has since tested negative.

Fox News Sean Hannity

Upon learning of the illness, most Americans were sympathetic and wished him well. However, that was not how Sean Hannity reacted to the news. Instead, Hannity launched into a typically toxic tirade against the President, because that’s the only way he has of dealing with the emotions that decent humans experience. On Wednesday’s episode of his nightly hate-fest, Hannity launched into a lecture that was littered with lies and loathing. He began by saying that…

Hannity: Biden had to evoke, the uniter that he is, his favorite subject, Donald Trump. Take a look.

Biden (on video): Here’s the bottom line: When my predecessor got COVID, he had to get helicoptered to Walter Reed Medical Center. He was severely ill. Thankfully, he recovered. When I got COVID, I worked from upstairs of the White House — in the offices upstairs — and — for the — that five-day period. The difference is vaccinations, of course. Hannity: Now, what Joe failed to mention is the current variant, which is BA.5, the dominant variant of Omicron, is much, much weaker than the original strain that infected then-President Trump.

Aside from disgorging his knee-jerk contempt for Biden, this is Hannity’s way of exalting Trump as some sort of Superman who is even impervious to deadly viruses that have killed more than a million Americans. It is the worshipful perspective of a fully indoctrinated member of the Trump cult.

However, Trump is hardly a superhero. In reality, he is coward who, after downplaying the severity of the pandemic for months, kept his own COVID diagnosis secret, and even attended a presidential debate when he was likely infectious.

More to the point, Hannity’s assertion that Biden was infected by a “much, much weaker,” strain of the virus than Trump, is utterly unsupported by science. Professor David Montefiori of the Human Vaccine Institute at Duke University Medical Center said that…

“There’s really no clear evidence that [the BA.5 variant is] more or less likely to make people sick and cause severe illness and death.”

It has been reported that hospitalizations and deaths are lower. But that could be due to more people being vaccinated and more therapies that are widely available.

Trump’s illness was indeed more severe than Biden’s. But the reason for that was more likely because he was unvaccinated when he contracted COVID in early October of 2020. He wasn’t vaccinated until January of 2021. What’s more, he was sicker than he let on at the time. The morbidly obese Former Guy – who subsists on junk food, is rumored to be an Adderall addict, and advocated quack cures such as injecting bleach – was hospitalized for five days with dangerously low blood oxygen levels.

Hannity’s rant began with a petty dishonesty by calling Trump Biden’s “favorite subject.” In fact , Biden rarely ever mentions him. In this address Biden referred to Trump only once, obliquely calling him “my predecessor.”

As for evoking irrelevancies, Hannity brought up an old incident when Biden tripped ascending the stairs to board Air Force One. To Hannity this was a major news story. But that contrasted with his observations of Trump, about whom he said “I never saw a Donald Trump trip,” Perhaps because Hannity has Trump-fluffing blinders on. Or perhaps because Trump rarely walks. He takes a golf cart to travel short distances. And Hannity must have forgotten how Trump shuffled down a low ramp as if he was trying to walk on thin ice. [Note: Hannity lied that it was raining, but it was a sunny day].

Hannity also outright lied that Biden “forgot to mention he took the antiviral medicine.” In fact. Biden explicitly noted in this speech that “Millions of Americans have used Paxlovid …I used it … This lifesaving drug reduces risk of hospitalization and death from COVID-19 by about 90 percent.”

Hannity also lied that Biden hasn’t credited Trump with overseeing the development of the vaccines. Of course, Trump did no such thing. The companies that brought the first vaccines to market did so without the aid of Trump’s phony “Operation Warp Speed.” That said, Biden has frequently given Trump some credit for the vaccines being developed during his occupancy of the White House.

After all these years, Hannity remains Trump’s most loyal propagandist. He shamelessly flings flagrant falsehoods that glorify his wannabe messiah. And while Trump’s legal peril increases by the day, Hannity can be steadfastly relied upon to ignore reality and marvel at his emperor’s new clothes. And apparently those clothes are tights and a cape.

Trump Fumes That Fox News has ‘Gone to the Dark Side’ and Purposely ‘Botched’ His Polling

One of the surest signs that someone has gone completely and irretrievably bonkers is when their psychoses manifest in paranoid outbursts directed at everyone, including their closest associates. And while Donald Trump was long ago recognized as being mentally unstable, his condition only seems to get worse with each passing day.

Clearly the pressure is getting Trump. Prosecutors in several jurisdictions are accumulating testimony and documentation of his seditious schemes to undermine democracy and overturn a fair election. The House Select Committing investigating the January 6th insurrection that he incited has exceeded expectations in exposing the ethical and criminal misconduct of Trump and his pitifully inept crime syndicate.

On Tuesday morning Trump took to his miserably failing social media website, TRUTH Social, to vent his spleen regarding his ever increasing legal and political peril. And in this episode he berated his longtime Ministry of Disinformation (aka Fox News) for failing to be sufficiently worshipful. Trump posted the following condemnation of his pals at Fox and Friends…

“@foxandfriends just really botched my poll numbers, no doubt on purpose. That show has been terrible – gone to the ‘dark side.’ They quickly quote the big Turning Point Poll victory of almost 60 points over the number two Republican, and then hammer with outliers. Actually, almost all polls have me leading all Republicans & Biden BY A LOT. RINO Paul Ryan, one of the weakest and worst speakers EVER, must be running the place. Anyway, thank you to Turning Point, the crowd & ‘love’ was AMAZING!”

That’s an impressive heap of hogwash, even for Trump. He can’t simply have a rational disagreement with a segment on the program that he was once featured on weekly. So he leaps straight into “dark side” damnation of his former friends. He asserts, without evidence, that they are purposefully “botching” his polling numbers.

What Trump is freaking out about is how Fox and Friends co-host Steve Doocy reported Trump’s victory in a survey of potential 2024 Republican presidential candidates conducted at the ultra-rightist Turning Point conference in Tampa, Florida. Rather than stopping there, Doocy went on to mention that there were other polls that had different results (video below):

“Keep in mind, Turning Point, a group of young Republican conservative activists from all across the country. So you have got people from all across the country convening in Tampa. I’m thinking about that is a little different than a couple of other polls that we have seen over the last couple of weeks, too. Weeks ago in Florida, Blueprint polling did a poll, [Gov. Ron] DeSantis leads the former president in all age groupings.

“Then there was a University of New Hampshire poll in June. DeSantis actually led Trump, 39 to 37. And that New York Times/Sienna College poll that we’ve cited quite a few times, less than half of Republican voters backed Donald Trump as their preferred choice.”

Well, that was all it took to set Trump off. Never mind that Doocy was uncharacteristically correct. Trump felt compelled to lie, as usual, about leading in “almost all polls” against both DeSantis and President Biden. The truth is that Trump’s standing has severely withered in recent weeks. DeSantis is strongly challenging him in the GOP primary, and Biden is beating in him general election polls.

Nevertheless, Trump may have some cause to worry. There has been a noticeable shift toward DeSantis on Fox News lately. And Fox News magnate Rupert Murdoch’s media empire has recently stepped back from Trump in significant ways. His New York Post published an editorial that concluded by saying that Trump is “unworthy to be this country’s chief executive again.” And his Wall Street Journal castigated Trump’s action and inaction during the insurrection, saying that “he fed the mob’s anger and let the riot play out.”

Trump’s descent into madness is sure to accelerate as more proof of his malicious malfeasance comes to light, and more of the rats on his vermin infested ship seek to jump overboard to save themselves. The closer Trump comes to indictments and prosecutions, the more frantically and wildly he will lash out at anyone and everyone in his warpath. For the entertainment value alone, it will be hard to find more captivating melodrama streaming on television this fall.
