Trump Insults Rep. Jasmine Crockett as ‘Low IQ’ in Yet Another Racist Attack on Black Women

The flamingly racist rhetoric that Donald Trump uses on a regular basis ought to have resulted in his banishment from civil society decades ago. But there seems to be no end to his capacity for hatred, nor for his cult followers capacity to accept it.

Donald Trump, MAGA

One of the most frequent expressions of Trump’s bigotry is his attack on the intelligence of his political foes, particularly if they are Black, and even more particularly if they are women. Although, Trump has plenty of support for his hate speech considering that during his first term his polling among republicans actually improved when he engaged in it.

Some things never change. And that’s certainly true with regard to doddering old hate mongers like Trump. On this weekend’s episode of Meet the Press with Kristen Welker of NBC News, Trump affirmed his place in the hearts of Klan members everywhere. In a response to a question about who he thought would be his successor, he began by saying that “It’s far too early to say that.” But unable to hold back his prejudice, he continued…

“You look at Marco. You look at JD Vance, who’s fantastic. You look at — I could name 10, 15, 20 people right now just sitting here. No, I think we have a tremendous party. And you know what I can’t name? I can’t name one Democrat. I mean, I look at the Democrats, they have a new person named Crockett. I watched her speak the other day and she’s definitely a low IQ Person. And they said she’s the future of the party. I said you have to be kidding. I don’t know what they’re gonna do.”

So the only Democrat that Trump could think of that might run for president in 2028 was Rep. Jasmine Crockett of Texas. Apparently he has never heard of JB Pritzker, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Gavin Newsom, Wes Moore, Andy Beshear, Gretchen Whitmer, Josh Shapiro, Pete Buttigieg, and of course, Kamala Harris. And that’s an abridged list.

However, in Trump’s mashed potatoes mind there is only Rep. Crockett, who he says “is definitely a low IQ Person.” Never mind that, in addition to being an elected member of Congress, she is a lawyer and a graduate of Rhodes College and the University of Houston Law School.

Trump’s insult was not based on any observation of Rep. Crockett’s intellect. It was just another example of how he denigrates Black women as stupid based purely on their race and gender. He has used the “low IQ” epithet many times before on other notable Black women, including Vice-President Kamala, Harris and Rep. Maxine Waters. Although to be fair, he has also used it on Black men (e.g. Don Lemon, LeBron James), and even white women (Mika Brzezinski).

Trump, of course, has never seen any documentation of the IQ of any of his insult targets. He is simply projecting his own mental deficiencies on his enemies. He is unarguably the dumbest occupant of the White House in American history. He’s the one who prescribed bleach injections to cure COVID. And renaming the Gulf of Mexico. Just this weekend he was asked about “due process” for immigrants, and his obligation as president to uphold the Constitution. To both questions he replied “I don’t know. I’m not a lawyer.”

That’s an interesting response, because Rep. Crockett is, in fact, a lawyer. But you don’t need to be a lawyer to know that every president takes an oath to “defend the Constitution” when being inaugurated. Not that Trump cares about honoring oaths. Just ask Marla, Ivana, and Melania Trump.

Rep. Crockett had a reply of her own to Trump’s insult that brilliantly exposed Trump as being “terrified of smart, bold Black women telling the truth.”

Trump’s attack on Rep. Crockett is typical of Trump. He often denigrates the intelligence and/or honesty Black women in the media. Among those he has gone after in the past are April Ryan, Yamiche Alcindor, and Abby Phillip. After taking a question from Phillip, Trump whined “What a stupid question. But I watch you a lot. You ask a lot of stupid questions.” And of course, he was unable to provide an answer. Not even a stupid one.
