Glenn Beck Bumped Off Twelve Radio Stations By Geraldo

Glenn Beck

The precipitous decline of Glenn Beck continues with the announcement that Geraldo Rivera’s national rollout will result in Beck losing twelve more radio affiliates. Crain’s New York is reporting the news along with an assessment of Beck’s performance by an executive with one of his syndicators:

Cumulus Senior Vice President Dennis Green: “When you look at the audience for these more aggressive, more vitriolic [hosts], those shows have started to show erosion. We think there’s a changing of the guard.”

This is an opinion that affirms previous statements about the genre of ultra-right-wing talk radio. A few months ago Cumulus Media released a disappointing earnings report and blamed it substantially on the backlash from Rush Limbaugh’s degrading of Sandra Fluke and his acerbic and offensive personality:

Cumulus Media CEO Lew Dickey: “It hit us pretty hard. A couple of million bucks in the first quarter and a couple of million bucks in quarter two.”

One of the stations that has dropped Beck noted his evolution into a pseudo-evangelical broadcaster:

KARN program director Dave Elswick: “Glenn about two years ago began to move away from what he did best, a daily look at the news and politics. After August 28 in D.C., he began mixing in a large measure of religion into his view which started a decline in ratings in our and other markets.”

Beck has indeed assumed the demeanor of an Apocalyptic prophet. He preaches a message of doom and gloom descending on an apostate nation that has the gall to affront God by caring for the less fortunate and treating everyone equally. But. as it turns out, God’s wrath seems to be afflicting Beck more than the targets of his attacks.

Glenn Beck Has Seen The Finger Of God – Again!

God’s finger must be getting tired. He seems to be spending an inordinate amount of time wagging it at Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck and the Finger of God

Last week at the Freedom and Faith conference, Beck reiterated his claim to have “seen the finger of God.” He said the same thing a year ago to his radio congregation. At that time I speculated that “I think it’s more likely that God is going to reveal his foot to Beck’s ass.” There is some Biblical support for my theory in Deuteronomy 28:27-29:

27: The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28: The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart.
29: And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

These prophesies are being fulfilled already. We hardly need to speak of Egypt and how badly Beck botched that with his delusions of a global Caliphate. The emerods (or hemorrhoids) he has already had, and it nearly killed him. The potential blindness he announced tearfully in 2010. The astonishment, or madness, is self evident. Even his prosperity is being plundered as his television program was axed and numerous radio stations have canceled his show including, most recently, Los Angeles and his new home town of Dallas. [By the way, I don’t buy the unsupported reports of his massive earnings since being cast off of Fox]

Nevertheless, Beck is still insistent that his Heavenly Wi-Fi is connected and he’s getting DMs from the Lord:

“Let me tell you something. I have seen the finger of God. I have SEEN it. I’ve seen miracles happen. Over and over and over. I’ve seen it. Whether you want to recognize it…you go call it a coincidence. You go…God bless you. We’ll have a good laugh when we’re all up in Heaven together. […] You can call it whatever you want, but I’ve seen the finger of God. He is not neutral in the affairs of man. He is not neutral in the freedom of mankind.”

Beck neglects to give any examples of the miracles he has allegedly witnessed. However, we can go back to his Restoring Honor Revival Meeting in Washington, D.C. where he cited a flock of geese flying overhead as a bona fide miracle. By that standard I guess I can presume that God spoke to me overnight because this morning my car was spotted with numerous bird droppings.

It’s not all good news, however, as Beck tearfully warned his disciples that God “is going to withdraw his protection the further we get from Him. He has to.” I’m not sure you can get much further from God than Beck is already. When God flips you the bird, you should regard that as a sign that you have drifted apart. But Beck is probably too blinded by his own divine Narcissism that this, like the miracle geese, will go right over his head.

Glenn Beck Fluffer Conducts Softball Interview For CNN

CNN, the network that is presently struggling in third place in the cable news field it once dominated, has published an interview of Glenn Beck that sets a new standard for obsequious pandering. The article is not much more than a promotional vehicle for Beck’s new media enterprise and fails to disclose that two Beck employees currently work for CNN (Amy Holmes and Will Cain).

The article’s lede concerns Beck’s announcement that he is folding his GBTV web video unit into his web tabloid site TheBlaze. The author, Steve Krakauer, makes little mention of Beck’s vulgar rhetoric and conspiratorial delusions, instead describing Beck euphemistically as “a man full of complexities.” The only complex that can be associated with Beck is his Messianic one. He also doesn’t bother to offer any analysis of whether the merger is the result of rapid success, as Beck claims, or due to poor performance necessitating a merger to reduce costs.

Krakauer takes Beck’s claims of his alleged success at face value. He repeats estimates for subscriber numbers without attempting to verify the claim or inquire as to whether they are actually paying for the service. GBTV offers free trials for new subscribers, but does not reveal how many subscribers are paying or how many cancel after the free trial expires.

Then Krakauer gets into some truly puzzling territory when he permits Beck to assert his brand of fairness and balance. Krakauer cites what he calls the “clear non-Beckness” of TheBlaze, and lets Beck complete the picture by saying that “If you just look at the comments section, there are people who read the Blaze all the time but hate my guts.” Why that would surprise anyone is beyond comprehension. The Internet has a wide open, frontier ethos that allows everyone access to everything. It stands to reason that Beck’s adversaries would visit his site, just as Tea Partiers show up at the DailyKos. That is not evidence that TheBlaze is independent of Beck, just that it is online. And Krakauer’s next example of Beck’s alleged impartiality is no better. He cites an incident when TheBlaze criticized a fellow conservative:

“[O]ne of the most memorable and talked about series of articles on TheBlaze.com was a meticulous debunking of the James O’Keefe NPR videos, which claimed to show an NPR executive denigrating the Tea Party, that ran on an Andrew Breitbart-associated website.”

Indeed, TheBlaze did publish a detailed breakdown of O’Keefe’s slanderous hoax. But what Krakauer leaves out is that Beck was not acting out of any sense of journalistic integrity. He and Breitbart were engaged in a bitter feud at the time, with each alleging the other was a backstabbing phony. That may have had something to do with Beck’s takedown of Breitbart’s protege. However, Krakauer uncritically lets Beck get away with portraying himself as even-handed, but misunderstood:

“I think that’s people forgetting who I was and what I was saying when I was on CNN before Barack Obama. […] Nobody ever, ever gives me credit for the times I’ve said on the air ‘the president is right on this, did this right’ or ‘the media is unfair by trying to say this about the president,’ or ‘the right is unfair.’ I bet I do that at least once a month.”

That’s just revisionist history on Beck’s part. He was broadly criticized for his dishonest and hateful rhetoric on Headline News. And, of course, it was that very rhetoric that got him his job at Fox after CNN ditched him. And the reason he doesn’t get credit for commending the President is because it occurred so rarely and only between accusations of fascism, socialism, racism, and threats of destroying America.

Astonishingly, Krakauer writes without any sense of irony that “Beck isn’t outwardly supporting either of the two major candidates in the 2012 election.” If he believes that he’s ready for the guys in white suits with the butterfly nets to take him to the friendly asylum in the country with the barbed wire fences. Does Krakauer think for a second that Beck would consider supporting the man he characterizes as a Stalinist bent on assuming tyrannical control of the nation and executing all resistors? Beck may not have endorsed Romney in so many words, but he has stated explicitly that America cannot survive another four years of Obama. So who do you think he’s supporting?

The article concludes with Krakauer gifting Beck with a closing statement that makes him appear to be some sort of visionary:

“We are on the threshold of something I think is as powerful as the Industrial Revolution was, except this one will happen in a very short period of time.”

Really? The threshold? Sorry but this revolution began at least twenty years ago. And many true visionaries were (and are) way ahead of Beck. The only thing Beck has done is to post web videos and publish an online tabloid-style news site. That has been done so much it’s almost passe. Every brick and mortar television station and newspaper has been doing it for years. Where’s the innovation? Saying his unoriginal venture is on par with the Industrial Revolution is like saying that starting a new blog today is on par with Gutenberg. Never mind that millions of bloggers have been doing for years.

CNN DebacleThis puff piece appearing on CNN is in line with their recent editorial direction. They have been heading ever more determinedly toward a Fox-Lite state that has done nothing for them but land them in the ratings cellar (a condition I wrote about just a couple of weeks ago). It’s a sad state of affairs for both CNN and the viewing public who would be better served by an honest, professional news provider than another megaphone for right-wing propaganda.

What Does MSNBC Have In Common With Glenn Beck?

Last week Dylan Ratigan announced that he would be leaving his program on MSNBC. That leaves a vacancy in the afternoon for the network that could be used as an opportunity to jumpstart their stagnant ratings. Unfortunately, the programming geniuses at MSNBC seem to be more interested in committing ratings suicide.

According to Politico, MSNBC is planning to introduce a temporary program that will feature rotating hosts. Among those being considered are Steve Kornacki, Toure, Krystal Ball, Ezra Klein, and S.E. Cupp.

S.E. Cupp? Seriously? For those unfamiliar with her, Cupp is currently the host of a webcast for Glenn Beck’s GBTV. Why MSNBC thinks that adding Cupp to their schedule will benefit the network is incomprehensible. Do think that the trouble with MSNBC’s ratings is that they haven’t featured enough of Glenn Beck’s conspiratorial Tea Party dementia? Are they concerned that giving three hours every morning to Joe Scarborough, a former GOP congressman, is too little to satisfy MSNBC’s audience demand for right-wing dogma?

More likely MSNBC is adopting the Fox-Lite strategy wherein lazy programmers aspire to emulate Fox’s success with the idiotic assumption that it has something to do with their ideology. It doesn’t. CNN made that mistake and they are now floundering in third place. And falling for this fallacy is even worse for MSNBC because it risks alienating their core audience. Liberal viewers will quickly abandon the network if they perceive it as lurching rightward. And if MSNBC thinks that they will replace those viewers with converts from Fox, they are insane. Fox viewers are fiercely loyal and rarely leave the comfort of their conservative electronic hearth. Even Fox Business Network VP, Kevin Magee, recognized this when he warned his staff in a memo against employing Fox News methods:

“…the more we make FBN look like FNC the more of a disservice we do to ourselves. I understand the temptation to imitate our sibling network in hopes of imitating its success, but we cannot. If we give the audience a choice between FNC and the almost-FNC, they will choose FNC every time.”

It isn’t as if there aren’t plenty of other options. Journalist Joy-Ann Reid is currently an MSNBC contributor. As is Maria Teresa Kumar, who could fill a noticeable absence of Latino hosts in the cable news business. If they are determined to hire a Republican, how about Meghan McCain, the well-connected daughter of a senator/GOP presidential candidate? At least she isn’t kneejerk conservative, Tea Partier with ties to Glenn Beck.

Unless MSNBC is looking to trail Fox News by even greater margins, they should cease to consider S.E. Cupp as a host. Her brand of extremist conservatism is a poor fit for the network and a disservice to its audience. Just the fact that they would entertain the notion is evidence of how pathetically weak the media is and how utterly false the contention that it is unduly liberal.

Glenn Beck Reviews Black-Themed Obama Campaign Ad

If you were looking for an authoritative analysis of an Obama campaign advertisement targeting an African-American constituency, who better to consult than homeboy and O.G. (Original German), Glenn Beck?

That’s who Bill O’Reilly turned to last night on the O’Reilly Factor, and he got his money’s worth. The segment included pleadings from Beck for O’Reilly to use the “M” word (Marxist) about Obama. O’Reilly giggled flirtatiously but succumbed only so far as to declare Obama the most liberal president in America’s history (which is news to liberals).

After listening to the new ad, the pair expressed their shock upon seeing an overt appeal to a targeted demographic group, something they seem to think never happens in advertising.

Beck: I’ve never heard anything like that, Bill.
O’Reilly: In a campaign ad, I haven’t either. I would love to see Mitt Romney’s backup singers though. They probably look like the Osmonds.
Beck: Here’s the problem with that ad. I mean it’s two-fold. In that ad they talk about, you know, we’ve got your back, Mr. President. Isn’t the President supposed to have our back? Isn’t he supposed to be that guy that insures that he’s watching our liberty and our life so nobody comes and kills our family or kills us, and nobody comes and scoops us up off the street in the middle of the night?

First of all, I find it interesting that O’Reilly would surmise that Romney’s backup singers would look like the Osmonds, a quintessentially white family of Mormons. I wouldn’t argue with that, but it’s Beck’s commentary that really demonstrates a fundamental ignorance and hypocrisy.

Beck seems to have missed entirely that the ad is a litany of all the ways in which Obama “has our back,” by enumerating the policies he is pursuing. The only thing that Beck hears is the Motown-like chorus. Even worse, Beck seems to be confusing the role of the president with the role of a bodyguard. His assertion that the President is supposed to protect us from some unidentified assailants is downright looney, however, it fits nicely into Beck’s patented formula of fear mongering. To Beck there is no dark corner of the room that isn’t filled with stalking demons.

Glenn Beck

Seeing as how Beck is also one of the biggest proponents of right-wing criticisms of the so-called “nanny state,” it is curious that he has now assigned the President the responsibility for policing our neighborhoods and protecting us from whoever it is that Beck imagines is threatening to “scoop us up off the street in the middle of the night.” That duty might distract the President from trivial matters like the economy, jobs, and foreign affairs. It might also piss off Spiderman who will surely regard it as an intrusion into his jurisdiction.

Watching O’Reilly and Beck analyze an Obama ad aimed at African Americans is not unlike watching Rick Santorum and Pat Robertson reviewing the DVD release of “Brokeback Mountain.” There is very little of value that one could extract from their analysis. But what’s truly frightening is that Fox’s viewers will sop up their bile and regard it as credible. At least until they are scooped up off the street in the middle of the night.

S.E. Cupp Thanks Hustler For Publishing Obscene Photoshopped Picture

“The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about.”
~ Oscar Wilde

This month’s Hustler Magazine is reported to have published an altered photo of Glenn Beck’s GBTV host, S.E. Cupp. The fake picture is an obscene and repulsive depiction of Cupp that is an insult to her and all women, particularly professional commentators who put themselves in the public view by expressing their opinions. The exercise of constitutional rights ought not to be an invitation to engage in profane humiliation.

S.E. Cupp in Hustler

That said, it didn’t take long for a chorus of right-wing opportunists to embrace this repugnant graphic for political gain. There was an immediate rush to associate Hustler’s Larry Flint with Democrats and to compare his literal pornography to the figurative porn of Rush Limbaugh. Conservatives from all quarters began demanding that every progressive women’s organization issue a public condemnation of Flint.

There is, however, a chasm of difference between Flint’s obscenity and Limbaugh’s vulgar characterization of law student Sandra Fluke. Flint is fringe purveyor of pornography who does not lead an army of disciples in a political war. Limbaugh, on the other hand, is a hugely popular rightist icon who commands the attention of his loyal followers and much of the media. It is precisely because of Limbaugh’s success and popular acceptance that his contemptuous incivility be challenged. And it is precisely because of Flint’s aberrant irrelevancy that he can be largely ignored. Flint is a notorious manufacturer of outrage, but when was the last time anyone ever paid close enough attention to him to demand an apology or retraction?

The response from the right to this affair is as fake as the photo in Hustler, and nearly as distasteful. Their unambiguous aim is to cast aspersions on liberals as being responsible for, or aligned with, Flint’s depravity. And leading the pack is Glenn Beck, who so often considers himself the victim of abuse. On his webcast today he interviewed Cupp and conflated this episode with both Limbaugh’s assault on Fluke and, shockingly, the Trayvon Martin shooting. He thinks there is some reason for the National Organization for Women and President Obama to lower themselves to respond to Flint. That would be like asking Mitt Romney to take a position on something said by NAMBLA. For her part, Cupp seemed oddly appreciative in this exchange with Beck:

Cupp: If I could just express a little gratitude for Hustler – and I’m being completely serious here – There is an accompanying sidebar to this story and why they did this to me. And in that paragraph they say it’s because she’s lovely, she’s smart, she’s fine, but she happens to be a crazy conservative, she’s pro-life, and wants to defund Planned Parenthood. And for that she deserves a phallus in her mouth. That is essentially what they’re saying and I have to commend that as being incredibly honest. […] So I wish that the media entities that perform this kind of misogyny would just come out and do what Hustler did instead of just beating around the bush and pretending to be fair, pretending to be above that.

Beck: So may I translate? I think what I’m hearing you say – correct me if I’m wrong – is that Hustler Magazine has higher standards than the media and the National Organization of Women.

Cupp: That’s exactly right. They are more straight forward. They have uncomplicated this belief system, which exists on the left and the right, that my being pro-life, my political views make this OK. It justifies it and I, essentially, deserve it. That is honesty on this issue I have never seen before.

Really? That’s a pretty clear indication that Cupp is actually thankful for the publicity she’s receiving. It is evidence that she is not really disturbed by any of this, but rather is encouraging others in the media to “do what Hustler did.” And both she and Beck seem happy to have this spotlight so that they can turn it on NOW and unnamed persons in the press. That’s just brazenly cynical and dishonest, and it exposes their disingenuousness and their desire only to exploit this as a partisan weapon against their ideological foes.

For the record, some of those whom the right are castigating for not speaking out about this have already spoken out about this. Sandra Fluke, Planned Parenthood, Fox Democrat Jehmu Greene, the Women’s Media Center, and others have Tweeted their disapproval. However, I hope this doesn’t devolve into a parade of forced condemnations from high officials. It serves no purpose for people of integrity to mud wrestle with the likes of Larry Flint. It should suffice that all thoughtful, conscientious people affirm that women be treated with respect. It would be nice if conservatives held that position even when it involves liberal and/or Democratic women like Fluke, Hillary Clinton, and Michele Obama.

BEWARE: Glenn Beck’s Web Site TheBlaze Hosts Computer Virus

Anyone foolish enough to visit a web site run by Glenn Beck now has something additional to worry about. Norton’s Internet Security software is warning that Beck’s TheBlaze “news” site is host to a computer virus that it describes as “a serious security threat.” Perhaps this is related to the threat that Beck has been warning us about for years that he calls “The Perfect Storm.”

Glenn Beck Perfect Storm

The Perfect Storm is so dangerous and imminent that Beck has declared its arrival on at least a dozen occasions over the last four years. The last time being the Arab Spring uprisings in the Middle East last year. This new threat may not be exactly what Beck had in mind, but it is worthy of attention and he will certainly find some nefarious excuse for it that probably implicates Van Jones or George Soros. In any case, here is the alert that Norton generated for TheBlaze:

Glenn Beck Blaze Virus

And here is some information from Norton about this virus:

Fake App Attack: Fake AV Redirect 21
Misleading applications such as fake antivirus scanners (Trojan.FakeAV) or bogus disk defragmenters (UltraDefraggerFraud) are designed to mislead users into thinking that their computer has serious problems that must be fixed by paying for a license of the software.

How ironic that Beck’s site is infected by a virus that is “designed to mislead,” and requires payment to fix. That sounds like a fairly accurate description of Beck’s entire media operation whose purpose is to disseminate delusional conspiracy theories for which his followers must pay if they hope to be enlightened by Beck’s Apocalyptic dementia. For years he has been preaching that “serious problems” are threatening to throw the world into darkness and the only hope is his sage advice to hoard food, buy gold, and arm yourself to the teeth.

Sometimes these virus alerts are in error or caused by harmless applications that appear to be malicious. However, if you have been to TheBlaze recently it would be a good idea to run a virus scan just to make sure that your computer is safe. After that, it would be a good idea steer clear of Beck’s web sites just to be sure that your brain is safe.

Glenn Beck Off The Air In Los Angeles And Dallas

Glenn Beck’s radio presence continues to shrink. As of today he is off the air in Los Angeles, the second biggest market in the country. KRLA 870AM bounced the schlock-jock in favor of Heidi Harris as they transition the channel to their new “The Answer” format. Since they didn’t provide the question, I’ll presume that it is: On what station is Glenn Beck’s conspiratorial, Messianic delusions too extreme even on a lineup of far-right blowhards?

A couple of weeks ago Beck was booted from KLIF in Dallas. That must have been a particularly sensitive ouster since Beck just moved to a suburb in the area and now does not have an affiliate in his new home town where he has also based all of his other Internet and business operations.

Add to this news that Beck lost his New York affiliate a few months ago so he now has no stations in three of the biggest markets in the country. And this is on top of his dropping from 3rd to 9th in the annual Heavy Hundred ranking from Talkers Magazine. Pretty soon you’ll only see him introducing Ted Nugent at county fairs and backyard Tea Parties. Anybody feel sorry for him yet?

Glenn Beck’s Radio Show Plummets – Progressives Soar

The influential Talkers Magazine has released its annual “Heavy Hundred” ranking of radio talk show programs for 2012. This list is commonly dominated by conservative shows due mainly to the fact that right-wing radio syndicators and station groups refuse to schedule liberal programming on their networks. Nevertheless, a few liberal programs manage to break through and prove that the radio audience is not a Great Wall of Tea Party rightists.

Glenn Beck

The most significant shift in the rankings is the precipitous drop of Glenn Beck. In 2011 Beck came in at #3, but with this year’s list he nose-dived to #9. That decline is surely the result of the cancellation of his Fox News program last summer. By denying him that platform he has been unable to sustain his position. Either that or it was George Soros dispatching his socialist goons to pressure editors at Talkers Magazine to fudge the list.

During the same time frame, Ed Schultz rose from #9 to #4 on the list. Stephanie Miller rocketed from #21 to #11. And Thom Hartmann (#8), Joe Madison (#10), and Alan Colmes (#15) all held steady.

Conservatives have been arguing for years that the reason liberals are not more successful on talk radio was because the market rejected them. That is demonstrably untrue and this new ranking is evidence that progressive talk is in demand. Whether that has any impact on the commercial operations of the conservative-run radio companies remains to be seen. But if they were to be honest they would have to start employing more liberal talent because that is what the marketplace is demanding.

As for Beck, he is currently begging his supporters to buy tickets to his upcoming “Restoring Love” event in Texas on July 28. It is being held in the 100,000 seat Cowboys Stadium which Beck is desperate to sell out. Tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow and Beck warned his listeners that they will probably be gone the same day. Somehow, I doubt it. With his popularity plummeting, his audience crumbling, and his credibility in tatters, I would expect that Beck will be preaching to an abundance of empty seats.

Remember, Beck couldn’t get 100,000 people to show up for his Washington, D.C. event when he still had Fox News to promote it. These are the End Times for Beck, and the darkness he so often predicts for the world is closing in around him now. Look for his next project to be a new communal survivalist colony in Guyana.

Glenn Beck Has Another Attack Of Nazi Tourettes Syndrome

Today on his radio show, Glenn Beck discussed Barack Obama’s campaign video, “The Road We’ve Traveled,” with his Kindergarten Krew (did you know that Beck still has a radio show?). It will surprise no one that Beck & Company didn’t think much of it. But it is sad to learn that he is still suffering from a severe case of Nazi Tourettes Syndrome.

It seems that Beck can’t go for more than a few minutes without accusing someone of being a Nazi. The unfortunate victim today was that inscrutable villain, Tom Hanks. Most Americans are already familiar with the evil character of Hanks, a man who is known widely as a philanthropist and supporter of military families. What a brilliant cover for his ghastly abominations.

Beck singled out Hanks for his work as the narrator of the Obama film (posted below). Apparently that act alone has earned Hanks the enmity of Beck who now regards Hanks as the moral equivalent of Nazi propagandist, Leni Riefenstahl.

Beck: Tom Hanks, you should be proud of the work you’ve done in this propaganda film. What was the name of that propaganda artist for Hitler? […] Her name is Leni Riefenstahl. Tom…seriously, you made a great movie and it will go down in history much like Riefenstahl’s work did, and I think that’s great, and congratulations on that and best of luck to you in the future. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

That’s all it takes for Beck to associate someone with a regime of genocidal murderers. Just because Hanks supports a Democratic president for reelection, he is now, in Beck’s view, in league with Hitler’s generals. And if merely doing the voice-over for a campaign video earns this sort of condemnation, just imagine what Beck must think of the hundreds of campaign staffers who are actually working everyday to advance the electoral prospects of the President. And of course the millions of Americans who are planning on voting for Obama are no better than the violently brainwashed Germans of the 1930’s and 1940’s. As for Obama himself, is Anti-Christ too strong a word?

We don’t hear too much about Beck since he was unceremoniously dumped by Fox News because no advertiser would permit their ads to be shown during his program. Apparently he hasn’t changed a bit. It’s good to know that his repulsive ramblings are now being heard by only a fraction of his previous television audience, and only by those who are deluded enough to pay for it. Although he still has a sizable radio audience, his influence has shrunk to near invisibility. Yet he thinks that Tom Hanks is on the way out.

It just goes to show you what a good case of hallucinatory psychosis will do for the ego of a former morning zoo DJ that nobody pays attention to anymore.
