Hair Trump Viciously Lashes Out at Reporter: ‘You’re Creating Violence By Your Questions’

You can tell an election is just around the corner by the blooming stench of Republican lies and the contempt for anyone that is less than wholly obedient to their vile doctrine. And one of the best indicators of the spreading desperation on the right is Donald Trump’s overflowing flop sweat in the form of ever more shrieking hyperbole and sheer panic.

Donald Trump

So now it isn’t enough for Trump to recklessly malign the media as “the enemy of the people.” That nasty screed has already put the lives and safety of journalists at risk. One of Trump’s fanboys recently sent mail bombs to members of the press, along with other critics of the President. And Trump’s State TV media mouthpiece (aka Fox News) recently defended him by saying that all he wants is for the media to “report stories the way he wants them reported.” The implication being that if the media complies with that fascist demand, he will refrain from calling them the enemy.

Now, however, Trump is trying to turn the tables on those who correctly hold him accountable for the upsurge in political hostilities. Trump was asked a question by Karen Travers of ABC News as he prepared to leave the White House to attend yet another of his ego-gratifying cult rallies. Travers wanted to know if Trump thought his rhetoric could provoke violence (video below). Trump replied:

“You’re creating violence by your questions. You are creating, you. And also a lot of reporters are creating violence by not writing the truth. The fake news is creating violence.”

That is a patently insane comment that undermines the whole concept of a free press. Trump is explicitly saying that he regards the mere act of asking questions to be an act of provocation. And he is unambiguously accusing the press of inciting violence for just doing their job. What’s more, he is attributing that alleged violence to the press “not writing the truth.” Although he doesn’t offer any examples to support the charge. The reality is that he simply regards anything that is critical of him to be false. And he is so perturbed by his deranged perception of truth that he lashes out with a straight-up mob-style ultimatum:

“The people who support Trump, and the people who support us, which is a lot of people – most people, many people – those people know when a story is true and they know when a story is false. And I’ll tell you what, if the media would write correctly, and write accurately, and write fairly, you’d have a lot less violence in the country.”

First of all, Trump is overtly lying about his support. He lost the election by more than three million votes. And ever since then he has struggled to get his approval ratings into the low forties. He has never had “most people” supporting him.

More to the point, Trump is making a not-so-subtle threat that there will be less violence if the media would just bend to his will. If they would stop writing stories that criticized him, documented his failures, or accurately presented his own words, then they would have nothing further to fear. It’s from the old Mafia Protection Racket school of persuasion. And it’s thoroughly Trumpian.

  1. “Who controls the past controls the future. Who controls the present controls the past.”

  2. He’s on his way out….he’ll be lucky to stay out of prison…I think he’ll play the dementia card… that would explain a lot.

    • Trump is a malignant narcissist. I’m not sure if his super inflated ego would allow him to plead to diminished capacity. But it might be his best and only strategy to stay out of prison. Unless Pence wants to pardon Trump and that is only if Pence isn’t swept up also by Mueller.

The Mafia boss Vincent Gigante aka The Oddfather tried to avoid prison by pretending to be cuckoo. It didn’t work out so well for him, 2005 he died in federal prison.
For Mr. Gigante, the guise that he adopted in the mid-1960’s – behavior that won him the nickname Oddfather – took considerable effort to maintain. He could often be seen shuffling around his Greenwich Village neighborhood in pajamas, bathrobe and slippers, mumbling to himself and appearing to be a disturbed but harmless person. Law-enforcement agents, prosecutors and Mafia defectors described his behavior as a staged performance calculated to evade prosecution for his activities as head of a crime family that under his leadership became the wealthiest and most powerful in the nation.

  3. @realDonaldTrump and @FoxNews are the real enemies of the people! Trump is a bloated diseased tick on the neck of our body politic! Injecting fear and hate then decries the havoc he creates! He swats a hornet’s nest then cries this isn’t my mess it’s the press!

  4. I wish that more once instead of listening to Trump spew out his “Fake News” nonsense that a reporter would ask him, what is the fake news is it that the media is throwing out there besides simply reporting what he states and does…

  5. Why did the “Family Values Republicans” choose him as their ‘leader’ other then he hates President Obama? He is the most whiny petulant of them all, but they do try to emulate him. He’s been pampered all of his life, and still he’s not capable of understanding how easy he has had it. He snivels he’s “being picked on”, yet its the only thing that upsets him. It’s always about the “poor” little rich brat in his simple brained existence. He is the reason the World is in danger since he’s an idiot in control of the USA’s Nuclear weapons. He will Lie about anything to inflate his sense of being in control of everyone else. That makes him as ugly as he seems. Never forget this Administration’s being in the White House is the result of all Family Values Republicans ignoring the Facts about him, and his need to have Vladimir Putin’s approval.

    • @gary Trump wants to be a dictator like his pal Putin but he also likes his rubles. American banks wouldn’t give him loans but for some reason the Russians saw him as a good investment.
One day in 1990, as Donald Trump tells it, he and model Marla Maples were strolling along New York’s Fifth Avenue when they passed a beggar.

“You see that man? Right now he’s worth $900 million more than me. … Right now I’m worth minus $900 million,” Trump told Maples.

After a decade of profligate borrowing, Trump lacked the cash to make his loan payments. Although he owned hotels, skyscrapers, casinos and an airline, his debts exceeded the value of his properties by hundreds of millions of dollars.

“In terms of high-end product influx into the US, Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets,” Trump Jr. said during a conference in New York in 2008.
