GOP Oversight Chair Excuses Trump’s Corruption Unless Bank Records Prove It – Well, Guess What?

As Donald Trump prepares to reoccupy the White House, every American that hasn’t been indoctrinated into the MAGA cult is aware that he is setting new precedents as the first president to be a convicted felon and an adjudicated rapist, who has advocated terminating the Constitution, and incarcerating his political foes.

That’s not exactly a record that would instill pride in either the officeholder or the people he purports to represent. To the contrary, it’s a resume of shame that would, and does, produce nausea in patriotic citizens. It would also spur responsible public officials to keep a tight rein on a leader who is as disposed to criminality as Trump has been.

On Wednesday morning the Republican chairman of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer, was interviewed by Pamela Brown on CNN. Comer is the prime antagonist in the long-running persecution of President Biden and his family. After years of sensationalized probes that failed to produce a shred of evidence of any wrongdoing, Comer is now dismissing any inquiry into Dear Leader Trump’s blatantly unlawful enterprises, as he affirms in the following exchange..

Brown: Do you have any concern if [Trump] doesn’t divest about present future President Trump using public office to enrich himself and his family? I mean, if he doesn’t divest, would that concern you?
Comer: I think the most important thing is transparency. And with respect to tax records, I come from a banking background. Tax records don’t mean anything. If you want to know whether someone’s doing something corrupt or not, get their bank records because bank records don’t lie. People cheat on their taxes all the time. Most important thing is the bank records. And I think as long as President Trump is transparent, I think the American people will give him a pass on honest business activity. But if it ever comes out that they’ve got secret deals or whatever, then that that could potentially be a problem, obviously.”

It’s interesting that Comer warns against using Trump’s tax records because “People cheat on their taxes all the time.” Is he implying that Trump cheats and, therefore, his tax records should be ignored?

More to the point, Comer asserts that nothing Trump does should be investigated because he’s such a pure paragon of transparency, and that his bank records would confirm that. However, in 2020 the New York Times reported that Trump had a secret bank account in China that he failed to reveal in his official financial disclosure forms. The Times discovered the account in his tax returns that they got from an undisclosed source because Trump repeatedly refused to make them public like every other president in modern times…

“President Donald Trump’s tax records show he has pursued expansive business projects in China for years and even maintains a Chinese bank account, The New York Times reported […] An analysis of Trump’s tax records by the Times shows that the President holds a previously unreported bank account in China that was not included on his public financial disclosures.”

So according to the criteria specified by Comer, there should be immediate hearings into Trump’s finances by Comer’s Oversight Committee. Trump has obviously not been as transparent as Comer implied. And that’s been the case for many years. Here are a couple other examples of Trump’s deceit with regard to his finances…

NOPE! Eric Trump Lies that Daddy Gave All Foreign Money Made at His Hotels to the Treasury
As reported by NPR last year… “Documents released by the House Oversight and Reform Committee show extravagant spending from foreign leaders at former President Donald Trump’s luxury hotel in Washington, D.C., which the committee says could have violated his oath of office by distorting U.S. foreign policy for personal financial gain.

“Government officials from Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and the People’s Republic of China collectively spent over $750,000 at the Trump International Hotel during his presidency.”

[And…]

Trump earned as much as $160 million dollars from foreign sources while president. A more expansive investigation by Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) found that… “Throughout his time in office, President Trump, his family and his Republican allies repeatedly assured the public that his refusal to divest from his businesses wouldn’t lead to any conflicts of interest […] When it came to foreign conflicts of interest, Trump and his company pledged to pause foreign business. They did not.”

Not surprisingly, the most frequent contributors to Trump’s coffers were from the Middle East and China.

Lest anyone think that Trump’s fiscal malfeasance is all in the past, take a look at his latest vehicle for enriching himself via shady self-dealing…

“Surely he is not planning to divest from any of the businesses that he didn’t divest from last time. […] Trump’s Truth Social, via its parent corporation, Trump Media and Technology Group (TMTG), is listed on the NASDAQ stock exchange. It is therefore available for any crooked scheme-ster to shovel shiploads of cash into, enriching the other shareholders, of which Trump is the biggest.

No one should expect Trump to change his nefarious ways now. And Comer’s hypocrisy amounts to the willful wearing of blinders in the hopes of avoiding observing Trump’s illegal activities. But he knows. And so does everyone else whose eyes – and minds – are not glued shut. The only question that remains is whether others in Congress or the press will seek to bring him to justice.

Trump and the GOP Affirm Their Reputations as Moronic Hypocrites After Hunter Biden’s Pardon

The news that President Biden has issued a pardon for his son Hunter has ignited another firestorm of performative outrage on the part of the Trumpists. All of a sudden they are determined to take the sort of principled stance that has never been a part of their persona. They are now expressing their shock and dismay over what they are falsely insisting is a display of immorality on the part of the President. Never mind the obvious moral decrepitude of their own Dear Leader Trump…

There could be some reasonable criticisms of Biden’s decision to pardon his son. For instance, he could have waited until after Hunter’s trials and sentencing. Then he could have just commuted the sentence if there was one. But the Trumpian critics never get close to any reasonable arguments.

Since the ethically deficient fish stinks from the head, let’s begin this examination of MAGA morality with Trump’s response to the pardon. Late Sunday evening Trump posted the following message on his failing Twitter ripoff, Truth Social…

“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years? Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!”

Seriously? Hunter Biden did not hurt anyone but himself with his violations of tax reporting and his misstatements on a form when purchasing a gun. And he made restitution by taking full responsibility and paying all his back taxes and penalties. He certainly didn’t storm the Capital causing millions of dollars of damages. He didn’t assault police officers, putting 140 of them in the hospital. He didn’t threaten the lives of members of Congress and their staff, and even the Vice-President.

In short, there is no rational comparison between Hunter’s actions and those of Trump’s January 6th insurrectionists. And there is no justifiable argument to grant the rioters pardons. For Trump to even bring it up is preposterous and an insult to the victims that his mob attacked in an effort to undermine American democracy. However, the criticisms of the pardon by the MAGA crowd were equally as devoid of reason. There were three main categories of that criticism.

First of all, they characterized the pardon as an unprecedented abuse of presidential power. In order to make that complaint, they had to ignore the points that Biden made in his official statement that Hunter was the subject of selective prosecution. Even more egregious, they had to ignore Trump’s pardons of his criminal accomplices, including Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, Michael Flynn, Charles Kushner, Dinesh D’Souza, and dozens more.

Secondly, they claimed that Hunter’s pardon would justify Trump pardoning others in the future, including the January 6th insurrectionists. However, Trump has been promising to pardon them for years, and long before Biden pardoned his son. Trump doesn’t care about justifications, and wouldn’t bother with them. He does what he wants irrespective of what anyone else – or the law – has to say about it. If Biden had not pardoned Hunter, Trump would still pardon the January 6th mob, and many others who don’t warrant pardons.

Thirdly, they are yammering about whether Biden lied about his intention to pardon Hunter. He didn’t lie. He changed his mind. And with good reason considering the vengeance seeking extremists who have explicitly targeted Hunter (Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, Tulsi Gabbard, etc.) that have been nominated to serve in Trump’s Cabinet. Patel, Trump’s proposed FBI Director, has stated unambiguously that Hunter is guilty – not allegedly guilty – of crimes that he has never been tried for, and for which their is no evidence of guilt.

When Trump’s Republican comrades can accept that they are all flaming hypocrites for supporting someone who has been convicted of 34 felonies, and has been adjudicated as a rapist with dozens of other accusations of sexual harassment and assault, and has been ordered to pay nearly half a billion dollars in penalties for financial fraud, and has been prohibited from operating any charities in New York, and has been caught hoarding classified documents in his Mar-a-Lago home/hotel, and has attempted to overthrow a fair and legal election… then they can maybe have something to say about President Biden and his son, Hunter. Until then, STFU!

Fox News Host Attacks Republican Senators for Supporting the Constitution – No, REALLY!

Unfortunately, that is the situation that this country finds itself in today. And it isn’t just Trump that is fomenting the dire circumstances that have captured the nation. Most of what was once the Republican Party has succumbed to the anti-democratic seduction of a self-professed strongman with divine providence who promises to cure all of our ills, and insists that only he can do so.

Trump is now assembling the Cabinet for his upcoming reoccupation of the White House. And it is dreadfully apparent that his foremost prerequisites for service are…

True to from, Fox News is fulfilling its mission to fluff Trump on all matters. Even if doing so requires chastising otherwise devoted Trump flunkies and repudiating the Constitution. To that end, Fox’s Laura Ingraham posted a couple of messages on the former Twitter castigating GOP senators who weren’t sufficiently worshipful of Trump.

In the first message, Ingraham asked “Why does NDakota have a senator who is already undermining Pres-elect Trump?” She was referring to GOP Sen. Mike Rounds, who is actually the senator from South Dakota. What she was complaining about was that Rounds delivered a speech in which, according to Politico, he said “that there are still three branches of the U.S. government, and the Senate will guard its independence.”

OH NO! A United States senator indicated his support for the Constitution’s separation of powers doctrine. She believes that an elected representative who would exercise his constitutional duties is “undermining” the president. Because that would impose on the omnipotent powers bestowed on Trump by Gawd! Ingraham surely wasn’t going to abide that sort of usurpation of the divine authority of Trump.

The second message that Ingrahm posted asked “Why does Oklahoma have a Senator who hates Trump? Strange given that Okla. voters overwhelmingly support Trump.” This time she was referring to GOP Sen. James Lankford, whose state she managed to get right. However, her complaint was that Lankford told reporters that “he doesn’t know ‘one way or another’ if President-elect Trump and his new Department of Justice (DOJ) pick, Pam Bondi, will apply political interference from the nonpartisan department.”

MY GOODNESS! A United States senator acknowledged that the Constitution gives the Senate the duty to provide “advice and consent” to a president’s nominations to his Cabinet and other executive branch positions. It isn’t optional. It’s required. But to Ingraham it’s proof that the senator “hates Trump” if he seeks to make an informed decision. Because, once again, that would impose on the omnipotent powers bestowed on Trump by Gawd!

This is how far the GOP has declined into the abyss of Trump cultism. and their Ministry of Propaganda (aka Fox News) is along for the ride to the bottom. They are unwaveringly faithful to Trump, even when it is flagrantly contrary to the Constitution. And he hasn’t even been inaugurated yet. So buckle up, America. It’s gonna be a bumpy ride.

Former Trump Advisor HR McMaster’s Brutal Smackdown of Republicans Who Parrot Vladimir Putin

It will come as no surprise to those who have been paying attention, that Donald Trump is a wholly owned asset of Vladimir Putin and the Russian regime that is dedicated to destroying America. Trump has explicitly backed Putin in matters that are contrary to U.S. policy. He even said that he takes Putin’s word over that of American intelligence during a press conference with Putin at his side grinning.

In all the years of his political life, Trump has never said a negative word about Putin. But he constantly maligns America as “corrupt” and “failing” and whose leaders are “stupid.” Trump has made it abundantly clear who he regards as this nation’s adversaries.

It is important to recognize that it isn’t just Democrats who have noticed Trump’s fealty to Putin and Russia. Many of Trump’s closest associates from his first occupation of the White House have spoken out about his dangerously dictatorial aspirations. His former White House Chief of Staff, Gen. John Kelly, has revealed that Trump frequently spoke of his admiration for Adolf Hitler. And those opinions about Trump’s fascist tendencies are shared by his military and national security colleagues, including the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, his former Defense Secretary, Mark Esper, and his former National Security Advisor, John Bolton.

Among the patriots calling attention to Trump’s treasonous intentions was his National Security Advisor, H.R. McMaster. And on this Sunday’s episode of CBS Face the Nation, McMaster took another stab at warning the nation about what awaits them in a second Trump term. He began by noting the lunacy of “blaming ourselves for the acts of our adversaries as Tulsi Gabbard [Trump’s current nominee for Director of National Intelligence] has done, talking about how Putin felt aggrieved and that’s why he had to invade Ukraine.” The discussion continued…

Margaret Brennan: Right. That’s a right-wing talking point that she has repeated in direct contravention to what U.S. intelligence has concluded.
McMaster: This is what I can’t understand. There are some people in the Republican Party these days who kind of tend to parrot Vladimir Putin’s talking points. I don’t know if it’s because they’re drawn to him and they see him as a defender of Western civilization, just a shirtless guy on horseback.

But they’ve got to disabuse themselves of this strange affection for Vladimir Putin, who is not gonna stop in his efforts to restore Russia’s national greatest at our expense. That’s what he is obsessed with. He’s obsessed with reestablishing the Russian empire.

Unfortunately, the fascist, so to speak, rots from the top. Trump is, of course, the leading disseminator of Putin’s talking points, and is the most seduced by the “strange affection” for Vlad. It is, therefore, unlikely that any of the Republicans that McMaster is referring to will alter their views. They are fully indoctrinated members of the Cult of Trump and believe that he has been blessed with divine infallibility.

Some of the glassy-eyed MAGA GOP (Gaga Over Putin) are set to join Trump in the White House next year. They include the aforementioned Gabbard, Pete Hegseth (Secretary of Defense), Michael Waltz (National security adviser), and John Ratcliffe, (CIA director). And Trump’s nominees for Secretaries of State and Homeland Security, and ambassadors to the U.N. And NATO, are no better. This is why Russian state TV was recently celebrating Trump’s victory and his Cabinet picks…

The Daily Show Skewers MAGA Rep Nancy Mace for Supporting Trump and Other GOP Sexual Predators

Many of this motley crew were recruited from Fox News, because Trump’s foremost prerequisite for hiring is that he has seen the candidate slobbering over him on TV.

At times like these it becomes necessary to have some emotional escape in order to maintain some measure of mental health and to reenergize for the battles ahead. And since laughter is the best medicine, it ought to be prescribed in large doses. That’s where programs like The Daily Show come in. And it also helps that they are often better sources for news than much of the traditional media.

This week The Daily Show host, Desi Lydic, addressed the purely performative attacks on transgender Rep-Elect Sarah McBride by Republican Nancy Mace (SC-MAGA). Lydic noted the inherent prejudice of Mace’s hate speech as well as her blatant hypocrisy. And she names names. Lydic lashed out at Mace saying that…

“Yes, of course, you just want to protect women from hypothetical predators. That would play a lot better if you weren’t trying to get actual predators into the highest levels of government. Pete Hegseth, RFK, Matt Gaetz.”

Lydic goes on to play a video clip of Mace complaining about men in women’s spaces, followed by a clip of serial predator Trump bragging about invading the private spaces of women…

“I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and everything else. And you know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it.”

That sounds conspicuously similar to Trump’s boast that “when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ’em by the p*ssy.” He truly believes that he has the right to sexually harass and assault women at will. And Mace is perfectly fine with this, so long as it doesn’t involve a transgender woman in the ladies restroom. Funny, but I never hear people like Mace talk about trans men in the ladies restroom…

Mace’s obsession was evident in her 36 hour marathon posting of more than 250 tweets on this subject. However, one thing that she neglected to mention in all of that was her position on LGBTQ+ rights just three years ago when she said that…

“I strongly support LGBTQ rights and equality. No one should be discriminated against. I have friends and family that identify as LGBTQ. Understanding how they feel and how they’ve been treated is important. Having been around gay, lesbian, and transgender people has informed my opinion over my lifetime.”

That’s quite a reversal. What changed? Was it that she decided that sucking up to Trump was more important than standing up for equal rights? Or was it just her ploy to get more airtime on Fox News?

More importantly, will the rest of media display the journalistic integrity of The Daily Show by exposing Trump and his Cabinet cretins as the sexual deviants that they are?

Hopefully the Senate will exercise their constitutional duty of advice and consent to prevent these sleazeballs from attaining positions of power. And not just because of their utter lack of morals. But also because they have zero experience for the jobs they have been nominated to do by the Sleazeball-in-Chief.

Although Trump isn’t gonna make it easy for them. He’s considering foregoing the routine FBI checks for proposed presidential appointments. Because he knows his nominees won’t pass. Even worse, he has called for Congress to abdicate their role by closing up shop and allowing him to make recess appointments. These are the tactics of a totalitarian dictator, which is what Trump aspires to be.

MAGA GOP Reps Deny that Donald ‘I Am Your Retribution’ Trump Has an ‘Enemies List’ (He Does)

It has been less than a week since since Donald Trump eked out a miniscule 2% victory over Vice-President Kamala Harris. But it didn’t take long for the Trump apologists in Congress to begin crafting their reality-defying accounts of his nefarious intentions to launch a reign of terror targeting Democrats, journalists, and anyone else who failed to kowtow to him and kiss his…let’s say ring.

The deliberate distortions of what Trump has actually said and done over the course of his campaign amount to a bald-faced effort to gaslight the gullible rubes who were naïve enough to vote for him.

It apparently wasn’t sufficient to tell flagrant lies exalting him while viciously maligning his opponent. They must now try to convince voters that what they clearly saw and heard were all figments of their feeble imaginations. This resulted in the election of a convicted felon, serial sexual abuser, and aspiring dictator, with a resume replete with ill repute.

So naturally Trump’s supplicants in Congress are endeavoring to whitewash his wayward past by blatantly contradicting what everyone witnessed in recent history. For example, on Sunday morning Rep. Jim Jordan insisted that Trump will not go after his political opponents. “‘He didn’t do it in his first term,’ Jordan told CNN ‘State of the Union’ host Dana Bash on Sunday.”

Of course Jordan is adamant that Trump wouldn’t go after his political opponents. Because that’s Jordan’s job. As chair of the House Judiciary Committee, Jordan has conducted numerous, meritless probes of Democrats and other Trump critics, including President Biden and his family. Here are a few others on Trump’s enemies list that CNN confronted Jordan with…

What’s more, Jordan is lying about Trump not going after political opponents in his first term. He did so repeatedly. But he wasn’t able to get anywhere because he had no hint of evidence of any wrongdoing. Even his own staff couldn’t justify the sham persecutions. As for Trump, his enemies list was well documented – mostly in his own words – and quite long. Politico published a collection of some of the targets of Trump’s wrath, including “critics and members of the media to be prosecuted, locked up, deported and even executed…”

Jordan was not alone in his fictionalization of Trump’s yearning for revenge. Byron Donalds (FL-MAGA) also tried to disseminate the lie that Trump was not out for vengeance, telling Fox News that “For the American people who have been listening to these lies from the Democratic left, I will tell you…There’s no enemies list.”

What’s next? Trump and his MAGA cult will try to claim that he never questioned the outcome of the 2020 election; or that he never incited a violent insurrection; or that he never downplayed the deadly effects of COVID; or that he never praised authoritarian tyrants like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un (and Hitler); or that he never sought mass deportations of migrants; or that he never promised to impose inflationary tariffs on all imported goods; or that he never said women must be punished for seeking abortions.

This sort of truth mangling is what Americans can look forward to for the next four years. And all because some voters were more worried about paying more for eggs, than about destroying democracy. And, of course, because the media was too afraid and/or complicit to report accurately about the existential risks the nation faced by returning Trump to the White House.

Unfortunately, we will all share in the regrets – and suffering – that was caused by a small minority of ill-informed, selfish, and gullible cultists who embraced Trump’s transparent dishonesty and egomaniacal ambitions.

Their purposeful deceptions make them even more disgraceful than the willfully ignorant, glassy-eyed disciples who habitually attend Trump rallies. And yet, Trump engages in pure projection to malign the rational Americans who prefer the democracy championed by Kamala Harris to the tyranny aspired to by Trump.

On Thursday night CNN’s Republican pundit, Scott Jennings, addressed the recent endorsement of Kamala Harris by rock superstar, Bruce Springsteen. Jennings attempted desperately to assuage his fears by trying to convince himself that Trump has the upper hand with more admired and influential celebrity supporters…

“I can’t think of anything I care about less than some moron celebrity…we’ve got Hulk Hogan, and that’s all I need.” […] Jennings said he wants to see “directionally a center right government, and I don’t give a crap what some celebrity thinks about it.”

Seriously? Jennings thinks that Springsteen – an artist with a catalog of brilliant compositions that millions relate to – is a “moron celebrity,” but that Hulk Hogan – a jock who performed in phony wrestling matches – is some sort of Rhodes Scholar? Does Jennings really believe that an endorsement by the “The Hulkster” is as valuable as one by “The Boss”?

Apparently the answer to that question is a resounding, “NO!” Because immediately after bragging about Hogan, Jennings admits that “I don’t give a crap what some celebrity thinks about it.” So that must include Hogan, right?

Republicans love to pretend that they aren’t interested in celebrity endorsements. So you have to wonder why they keep promoting them from losers like Kid Rock, Scott Baio, and Roseanne Barr. It’s a contest that they can’t hope to win when Harris has supporters like Taylor Swift, George Clooney, John Legend, and Oprah.

For the record, Springsteen’s endorsement was an eloquent and moving expression of why Harris is fundamentally superior to Trump. He touches on both Trump’s fatal flaws and Harris’ distinguished assets…

“Donald Trump is the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime. His disdain for the sanctity of our Constitution, the sanctity of democracy, the sanctity of the rule of law, and the sanctity of the peaceful transfer of power should disqualify him from the office of president ever again. He doesn’t understand the meaning of this country, its history, or what it means to be deeply American.”

Celebrity endorsements, of course, should not be used to determine how to vote for any candidate. But they can be good reference points by creative people who have a demonstrated ability to connect with others. Their insights are appreciated specifically because they are adept at envisioning and expressing what many others see and feel. Their opinions often have just as much merit as the paid partisan “experts” who populate news programs. And in the case of Jennings, infinitely more merit.

The obsession that Trump has for imposing stiff mandates on approved rhetoric and viewpoints was evident during his occupation of the White House when he placed devoted sycophants and members of his family (Ivanka and Jared Kushner) into the most prominent advisory roles. And it continues to be his modus operandi as he aspires to acquire an even greater abuse of power.

When Trump made his daughter-in-lawlessness, Lara Trump, the co-chair of the Republican National Committee (RNC), he obviously wasn’t looking for experience or ability. Because Lara had none of either. Her most notable achievements were ripping off a charity, butchering a Tom Petty song, and alienating Republicans not named Trump.

On Sunday morning Lara visited with Fox News Senior Trump Flunky, Maria Bartiromo, to discuss the game-changing endorsement of Trump by conspiracy crackpot and brain-worm host, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. In the process Lara demonstrated her deft …er, make that daft… skills at electoral camapign strategies. Bartiromo asked Lara “How important was the RFK, Jr support?” A simple question that should pose no problem for a seasoned party leader. But this Lara Trump’s reply…

I think it’s huge. And I think the Democrats are very upset about that and that’s great. And I actually think he did a great thing when he came out and said not just ‘I’m endorsing Donald Trump, but here’s why. Because Democrats are a threat to our country. I cannot associate with a party that has been in my family, and is integral to my family and who we are for my entire life.’ And I thought it amazing to see him come out, I think you’re gonna see with any swing states where he has taken himself off the ballot, that the percentage bump that I believe it will give Donald Trump is going to be huge. And I think you’ll see that in the next round of polling.

Let’s begin with Lara’s contention that RFK, Jr’s endorsement will be “huge.” There is no data whatsoever that supports that theory. He is presently drawing a pitiful 5% in recent polls, and those are not necessarily voters are are transferable to Trump. Whatever shifts in his voters probably already took place in the weeks since Kamala Harris became the Democratic candidate, and those that remain in his camp will likely be non-voters in November.

As for Lara’s notion that “Democrats are very upset,” she appears to have pulled that straight out of her asinine impression that she has the slightest idea what Democrats are feeling. She might want to check with how Kamala Harris reacted to RFK, Jr approaching her campaign prior to selling out to Trump…

Lara followed that up with a quote that she attributed to RFK, Jr. that he “cannot associate with” the Democratic Party that has been “integral” to his family. However, the rest of his family is vehemently opposed to his endorsement – and to Trump. They made a point of saying so publicly…

“”We want an America filled with hope and bound together by a shared vision of a brighter future, a future defined by individual freedom, economic promise and national pride. We believe in Harris and Walz,” the statement continued. “Our brother Bobby’s decision to endorse Trump today is a betrayal of the values that our father and our family hold most dear. It is a sad ending to a sad story.”

Lara went on to claim that her Sugardaddy-in-Law would get a huge percentage bump with this endorsement. Which Trump would likely dispute. After all, he believes that he alone holds the greatness to inspire the gazillions of disciples who adore him. Everyone else is just running on his fumes. Although, she allowed a bit of light to filter through when she conceded that “the next round of polling” would be more favorable to Trump. That’s unlikely, but she is, in effect, admitting that the current round of polling sucks for him.

What’s more, why should Trump get any bump from a candidate that he himself called “a Democrat ‘Plant,’ a Radical Left Liberal who’s been put in place in order to help Crooked Joe Biden”?

By putting Lara Trump in charge of the GOP, Papa Trump did a big favor – for Democrats. She is proving to be as incompetent, dishonest, and disreputable as most other members of Trump’s immediate family. And her contributions to Trump’s candidacy will be remembered and appreciated by Kamala Harris and other Democrats for at least the next four years.

Fox News Hypes Bogus Report By GOP Falsely Alleging that Biden Engaged in Impeachable Conduct

If anyone is looking for further affirmation that Fox News is the Ministry of Propaganda for Donald Trump and his MAGA movement, the notoriously disreputable network that settled a 3/4 of a billion dollar defamation lawsuit for lying on Trump’s behalf, just provided another example of its political biases.

On Monday the Democratic National Committee (DNC) was set to begin its convention to officially certify the candidacy of Vice-President Kamala Harris as the Party’s nominee for President of the United States of America. This year the convention is being held under unique circumstances as Harris only became a candidate three weeks ago. Nevertheless, she is riding a wave of enthusiasm and surging popularity that is stirring anxiety and desperation in the Trump camp.

Right on cue, Fox News and the Republican Party deployed to try to steal the DNC’s thunder. On the morning of the first day of the DNC convention, the GOP issued a report that they claimed contained proof “that President Biden engaged in impeachable conduct.” The report was immediately given to Fox News who broadcast it as an exclusive on Maria Bartiromo’s Trump-Fluffing Hour (video below). And Trump posted it to his floundering social media scam, Truth Social, whining “And they go after me for NOTHING!” Fox correspondent, Brooke Singman, gleefully boasted that…

“I obtained a copy of this 292 page report from Republicans on the House Oversight, Judiciary, and Ways and Means Committees. They’ve been leading the impeachment inquiry against President Biden for months. They said that their investigation found that President Biden engaged in impeachable conduct and said that he abused his office and defrauded the United States to enrich his family.”

Singman went on to quote from the report, saying that…

“As Vice-President, President Biden actively participated in his conspiracy by, among other things, attending dinners with his family’s foreign business partners and speaking to them by phone, often when being placed on speakerphone by Hunter Biden”

The only problem with that is that it has no resemblance to reality whatsoever. The testimony of the GOP’s own witnesses actually absolved Biden of any wrongdoing. During the phone calls that Singman refers to, Biden was only on while innocent pleasantries like the weather were exchanged. The GOP’s “star” witness testified that he never heard the President talk about any business dealings.

Singman continued quoting from the GOP’s work of pure, unadulterated, and deliberate fiction, saying that…

“Several witnesses testified that Hunter Biden invoked his father in business dealings with Romanian, Chinese, Kazakhstani, and Ukrainian companies, resulting in millions of dollars flowing to the Biden family.”

Once again, the report doesn’t actually find that President Biden did any of what the report is alleging. In fact, every reference to any alleged wrongdoing in the report was vaguely framed as being associated with “the Biden family.” The report contained zero evidence that President Biden received any money or did anything wrong. What’s more, if Republicans were really interested in a president who enriched himself through shady business dealings with foreigners, they should have been investigating Trump…

It is notable that Singman’s report on Fox News didn’t provide any response from Biden or any White House representative. That isn’t because there wasn’t one. When she posted the same story on the Fox News website, where it wouldn’t get nearly the same amount of exposure, she did include a response by White House spokesperson, Sharon Yang. So she knew about it, but intentionally left it out of the television report. She even included it in an early morning tweet…

Yang: “After wasting nearly two years and millions of taxpayer dollars, House Republicans have finally given up on their wild goose chase. This failed stunt will only be remembered for how it became an embarrassment that their own members distanced themselves from as they only managed to turn up evidence that refuted their false and baseless conspiracy theories.”

The attempt by Republicans to tarnish Biden’s reputation, even after he has announced his retirement, is reprehensible and intended only to be nasty while hoping that the stain rubs off on Harris. So far, like every other dirty trick that they have tried to play, they have met with failure.

They still have no evidence of any impeachable crimes. And even when they were taunted by Democratic representative Jared Moskowitz to call for an impeachment vote, the GOP reprobates never did. Which is emblematic of their dishonesty and cowardice. It’s a level of cretinism that is only matched by their confederates at Fox News.

Weaponizing Congress? GOP Hack Comer Launches Phony Probes Into Both Kamala Harris and Tim Walz

If anyone is wondering why the American people have a such a poor opinion of Congress, it might have something to do with how little it has done on their behalf under the current – albeit slim – GOP majority. They actually seem to be proud of their ineffectualness. It’s hard to argue that they haven’t been purposefully determined to be political slackers.

The Republican “leaders” of the House of Representatives have spent the past two years utterly ignoring their responsibilities to advancing the interests of the citizens they are supposed to be serving. In fact, they have succeeded only at achieving a new record for passing fewer bills than any Congress in modern times. Congratulations.

There are many Republican members who can shar the blame for this deliberate neglect. At the top of the list is the GOP Speaker, MAGA Mike Johnson, who has exhibited no management aptitude whatsoever. He only got the job when no else could muster enough votes following the ouster of the previous GOP Speaker, Kevin McCarthy.

And right below Johnson in the congressional Dereliction Derby is the chair of the House Oversight Committee, James Comer. He has made it his personal mission to devote all of his time to presiding over ludicrous investigations of Democrats, particularly President Biden and his family. And all to no avail. After wasting months of hearings, and millions of taxpayer dollars, Comer hasn’t found a shred of evidence of any wrongdoing. He’s been so inept that even Fox News took him to task…

Now that President Biden has passed the torch to Vice-President Kamala Harris, Comer & Co. have abandoned the pitiful failures that they have been obsessed with for so long. But that doesn’t mean that he is taking a rest. Nope. Comer has already initiated investigations of both Harris and her running mate, Gov. Tim Walz. Last week he posted this announcement…

This is Comer’s contribution to the brazen lie that Harris was a “Border Czar” (she never was), and that there must be some impropriety that he can manufacture with regard to that lie.

In addition to Comer’s grossly partisan attack on Harris, this week he added Gov. Walz to his hit list.

It’s ironic that Republicans are trying to falsely associate Walz with some sort of collusion with China, when it is Donald Trump and his family who have been doing business there for decades, including while he was occupying the White House. The truth about Walz is that he had a purely educational role in China, as reported by Newsweek…

“Following his graduation, the Minnesota governor and former Congressman spent approximately one year teaching high school in China as part of Harvard University’s WorldTeach program.”

These blatant attempts to weaponize Congress by using it to attack their political foes is a reprehensible perversion of their sworn duties. But it is consistent with their past misbehavior. In the past couple of years they introduced more preposterous articles of impeachment (for Biden, DHS Sec. Alejandro Mayorkas, FBI Director Chris Wray, U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves, and Attorney General Merrick Garland) than any session of Congress ever.

And now they are turning their aim toward Harris and Walz in the final months of this election year. The good news is that Comer and his cohorts are too feeble-minded to succeed at anything other than humiliating themselves. They inherited that mental defect from their Dear Leader Trump. And in the end all of them will wind up achieving the only outcome that they are capable of: FAILURE!
